Confession Time--Cardio and Weights

I need to start out by saying that I absolutely LOVE C&W--I'm waiting for the DVDs but splurged on the VHS and I'm so glad I did. I have been doing this tape 2-3 a week for the last two weeks and can already see and feel results.

HOWEVER, when it gets to the ab section, I must confess that I just sit down and watch it with my jaw hanging open........it looks so incredibly tough, that I'm too intimidated to even try. This has never happened to me before.....I had some abdominal surgery back in August so I'm really weak in more core. I'm just not sure how to start doing this section.......

Any suggestions or words of advice.

TIA

Kathy

Hi Kathy

I agree...C&W is a gem. And yes, the core work in all these tapes is VERY advanced, especially C&W. I would find some exercises that work for you and build up your strength.

I had a baby a year ago (gained 50 pounds) and my core region was a complete disaster. I've been doing extra ab work with her Ab Hits tape since the end of the summer and I'm truly amazed with the results. In the beginning, I couldn't even hold a plank on my elbows for very long but little by little I got stronger and could complete the tougher stuff.

These new workouts though...eegads...I too, am in awe of Cathe and the crew. I think it's totally motivating to think of the progress Cathe made with her abs only 6 months after Kyle was born. Her abs look INSANELY good for just having a baby! I intend to keep at it. These tapes give us lots of room to grow, huh?

Just do what you can and try a little harder each time. It will come.

RE: Hi Kathy

Cathe's right. I've been doing the body blast rotation since last Wednesday. My body feels it big time. I am at an advanced level and I think she mixed these up quite well. I also think the order for the rotation was very well thought out. Thanks Cathe - you really thought these through. I hate to think about what you're going to have to try to do to top this. But you know we'll be waiting for the next installment.

Do you have other tapes with ab work you could substitute for a while? I'm thinking of something like the Firm 5-Day abs, which has a couple of easier ab workouts, or the abs off another workout.

You could just let the tape roll, so you'll have Cathe and crew for "company", while you do as many crunches, then reverse crunches, then some oblique work, then maybe hold a plank on the elbows as long as you can...whatever you can do for the whole time. If you have one muscle group that is really far behind the others, this would be one way to go.

Another way, as others have suggested, it to replace the tape with another easier one.
