LAST EDITED ON May-25-02 AT 09:52AM (Est)[p]Step Jam is one of my favorites! A few people have commented that it is 'dated' but I love it and reach for it once a week! I would compare it most to Rhythmic Step. It isn't as intense as Body Max's step or Power Max, but the cardio is 47 minutes long and Rythmic Step's cardio is 46 min. If you do it on an 8" step and use the power moves right away, while Cathe teaches the base moves, you will sweat! Here is a mini-break down. The warm up has a fun two knees while turning over your board. I love that move, it's kind of funky. The 1st section starts out pretty basic - lots of basic steps. I usually do run ups instead, but some days, the basics are just fine with me. Then it progressively gets more intense. The 2nd section has a super fun shuffle repeater - I love it! And then my absolute favorite section is the 3rd. It starts with scoops on the board and then just builds. You do lunges and straddles and my favorite is the jump kick corner to corner facing away from the tv and then the running turn to get to the other side. Then you finally put all of the parts of the 3rd section together and it flows great! Just when I think we're going to run through the 3rd section again, Cathe says, "That's it - you're all done!" so you don't realize you've been stepping for 47 min.! It isn't as tricky or intense as Power Max or Step Works, but I like it. The choreography is a little more basic so I can really focus on giving it my all. I hope you like it if you end up ordering it! Have fun!
