Commit to get FIT & Lean for September!!

Hi,

Today I took a spin class at the new gym, need to get used to it. The bike has a display that shows how many calories you burn, well not very many. I think I am going to use it to work harder. I only burned 200 calories for a class:confused: I didn't even realize it had that feature till the end of the class. I'm guessing that's 2 cookies if I'm lucky:eek:

Belinda - Wow on DD's view but too much money to spend on a weekly class. Maybe she could teach her own class up there:)

Waves hi to everyone

Goodnight:)

'Morning!
Belinda, it seems like you're using more of your dvds these days. Or are you doing a rotation? Yoga on a rooftop on a great evening and a lovely view - now that's relaxing. Oh, esp. if there's also a glass of wine after.
Amelia, hope things went well at the interview.
Kristin, I know parents are busy but it is so hard to have an impact w/o them. It seems things have gotten so divisive that there is so little collaboration anywhere.
Melissa, hope you're juggling okay.
Deb, after reading your post, I just realized I could have done the exercise bike this morning. But the biking shorts are in the bedroom and for 200 calories, not now.
Got up early to do some work before working out, but time slipped away. And trusst me, it is not fun, fun, fun work!
My mom is turning 80 and thought we had a date and place arranged for a celebration. But one sister has now planned a day trip with her daughters for that day, and another sister is annoyed and not speaking with her. Not sure how I get to smooth things out but lucky me...
Cookie

Good morning,

I have a doc appoitment for PF/heal spur this afternoon, need to get my workout in this morning. I have STS D20 legs and Jessica's Single Sided Strength today.

Cookie - Happy Birthday to your mom! How many sisters do you have? Sounds familiar, I have 3 other sisters:( Hope they can figure it out. LOL, of course there is wine after the yoga class:p I am doing Cathe's STS rotation, I am on M2 W3, as far as the cardio.....I will do whatever flows my boat;) currently, I mix in Jessica's Smith Fall Challenge with STS and I through in different dads/workouts. This week is my last week of Jessica's Fall Challenge, not sure what I will do for cardio next week? Maybe I will mix in JNL?

Debbie - DC is expensive! Alesia quit her gym-member ship due to her thyroid problems, she can no longer do those high impact (boxing) workouts. She was close to passing out in the gym 3 times:( She is on meds, but they said...it would take up to 6 month to adjust the meds. She is not doing so well:confused: Her hormones are going crazy:( Poor girl! She is doing yoga and Pilates, but no longer than 20-30 min. This thyroid problem is zapping the energy out of her.

Waving Hi to everyone that checks in after me. Happy Hump Day, everyone.

Morning girls

Yesterday I took a break from the JS challenge and took a nice power walk. I may do the same today.

I found an app on my phone called "My Diet Diary". It looks really simple and easy to navigate through. I've got to be more accountable for what I eat, lately ive been keeping up with the calories as I go along and I always end up over

So I got that 'non glamorous job. Im not crazy about the pay but its better then what i'm making now, nothing:eek: Meanwhile I will be looking for something better. Im suppose to start as soon as my background/drug test come back..in a few days. Im excited to be working again.:)

Cookie- Hope you get everything smoothed out soon between your sisters. Is your mom's birthday today? Happy Birthday to her!!

Deb-wow, 200 calories? I would figure its at least 300+. Great job though!! I haven't heard from anybody at my last job. I'm kinda surprised because I considered one girl a friend? But she was also next in line for my position

Kristin-Great job with hard strikes the other day. Maybe as the year goes along you will get to know your students more and it will be similar to last year? I will cross my fingers that it gets better:)

Melissa-How are you doing?

Ok girls...bbl :)

Hey girls,

Workout is done! I skipped the calf raises in D20, too much pressure on my heal. Other than that I had a great workout.

I will be back later today. Have a great day, everyone.

30 minute walk done. May do another one later.

Great job Belinda. Im going to own STS one day.

Good job, Amelia!:D I have a brand new set sitting on my self, bought it for Alesia...doubt she ever use it:confused: BTW, you can do STS without the dvds;) Go to the Workout Manager, it'a all there! All you need is a timer. Which btw, Cathe offers too in the WM;) If you do a search...you probably find all the written workouts from Debbie (Fitnessfreak/or me). We did STS awhile back. Congrats on the job! That's fantastic!

Hey guys. Happy Hump Day! I had a good day at work. Two of my former students from last year stayed after school with me to catch up. They were telling me how much they miss being in my class. I told them I missed them too and that it was a very special year for me. It warmed my heart.

I did a lot of outside exercise with the dog, including two walks. One in the morning (short) and one in the evening (30 minutes). I also played outside with him. He likes to race me, lol. I also did IMAX 2, premix 1 intervals 1-5 and the abs from cardio and weights. I am pretty exhausted now, lol.

Belinda- I agree about taking the time out for meeting your child's teachers. I mean, we are all busy, and in today's day and age, if you cannot come for whatever reason, you can contact me via email, just to say hello and open communication that way. I went to DS's meet the teacher night last night. Tonight was my other son's and DH went to that one. We are both involved in helping them succeed. BTW, what do you think about me repeating M2 of STS? I was thinking of doing M2 for a second month, and then finishing with M3. Then I might switch to Xtrain or 4 DS. Not sure.. .

Deb- are you seeing Christmas stuff yet? Some stores are putting it out already. They aren't even waiting for Halloween to come, forget about being over! It is crazy.

Cookie- I think parental involvement is so important. I think a lot of parents think once their children are out of elementary school that it is up to the child to succeed and be responsible. Unfortunately, a lot of 7th and 8th graders are not ready to be "on their own" yet. They need their parents to know what is going on.

Amelia- Belinda gave a great suggestion. Never even thought of that myself, lol. Check it out.

Okay, I'm off to shower and then to bed. I am beat!

Kristin

Hi,

Today I took a hot yoga class, I've been averaging 2x a week so the monthly wouldn't really pay for me, at the end of this may just buy a book of classes and it is good for a year.

We finished holiday set-up today. It seems like they cut back on holiday gifts & decorations:confused: or am I just used to it.

Belinda - I heard it takes awhile to get the thyroid dosage right. DD is smart to cut back & listen to her body this way she can help them know which dosage is working for her.

Kristin - Is the dog good when you are at work? It seems like you are wearing him out, so who wins the race? I couldn't believe that K-Mart is advertising on TV for Christmas people are freaking out. Macy's only sets the one store up so they can photograph/video it for all the other stores in the U.S.

Amelia - Maybe you will end up liking this job but in the meantime you have something until something else comes along. Great job with your walks.

Cookie - I hope I didn't discourage you, maybe I just wasn't working out hard enough sometimes I get comfortable or my mind wanders. That is hard with your sisters but so exciting your Mom is turning 80 that is a celebration!

Melissa - I hope school isn't too crazy for you.

Goodnight:)

Good morning,

Yesterday I went to the doc for my heal spur/PF, I got another cortisone shot in my foot:mad: You can't get more shots than 3 a year, it will weaken you tissue in your foot. The next step is, he want's me to go to physical therapy. My IT bands and ankle is so tight:confused: The doc was surprised the shot didn't lasted for longer than a few weeks:eek: Him and me both:eek: I could't sleep last night, I have shooting pain in my foot. This heal spur/PF is the worst I have ever had. I hope getting 3 cortisone shot will do the trick:eek: If the physical therapy and the shot doesn't work, I need surgery on my foot. I hope not:confused:

I will continue with STS, but will modify as needed. As far as cardio, I will keep it low impact.

Today's workout is: Jessica Smith " Floor Barre" = 31 min.

Debbie - Alesia having a really hard time with all that. Poor thing! She only has energy for short period of time. That thyroid problems is messing her up big times. I don't see why you couldn't repeat M2, have fun!

Kirstin - you getting lots of walks in with your dog. That's great! I can't wait lately, feeling bad for my dogs. I think all parents should be involved in helping their kids to succeed.

Amelia - I will look this weekend if I can find my STS sheet. I am on round 5 with STS, you don't need the dvds to do the program:D The WM even shows you how to do EACH exercise;) It's a no brainer! And I am sure you can count to 15 reps, right:p

Cookie - how are you doing? (((HUGS)))

I will be back after my workout. Have a wonderful day and workout.

Hi,

I finally (think it took 2 months:eek:) finished legs of M2W4. Not sure what I will do next:confused: maybe a total body & Gym Styles. I worked later today so I can take off tomorrow.

Lucy was at gf's house & she took off with their other dog. DS & GF spent 4 hours looking for them. The police even helped them, they found them about 5 miles away at a women's house who lured them with steak:eek: in her garage. I always thought dogs could find their way back home:confused:

It's quiet here tonight everyone getting ready for the weekend:)

Belinda - Sorry about your foot:( I hope you don't need surgery. I saw on a show that putting inserts in shoes & sneakers can help PF but my guess is you have tried everything. I feel bad for Alesia, I'm sure going to work must take up so much of her energy too:(

Waves hi to everyone

Goodnight:)

'Morning!
Belinda, your poor foot. And your dd! Both of you must be discouraged. Good advice to Amelia about sts.
Amelia, congrats on the job! You've been really getting in the workouts lately. I haven't been very good. Actually, even took to this morning to just catch up on emails.
Kristin, sometimes when I'm getting overwhelmed, I just daydream about walking the dogs. Bet it felt great to have the students come back to visit.
Melissa, how's the week going?
Deb, that steak must have been quite a lure - 5 miles! Mine would have been over too. Glad you found her. That makes sense to decorate one store and use it for photographing. Didn't realize that's what they do.
So, I was lazy this morning. In the past year, I've developed psorasis and have a few new patches developing - so I definitely need to do some more stress reduction. Spent time catching up on emails. There was a lot, so I'm counting it as a computer workout.
Oh, I have four sisters and eight brothers! Somehow or another, I seem to have to mediator role in the group. My mom is turning 80 in November, but organizing this crowd is like herding cats! Put off negotiating/mediating til tomorrow re her celebration. I need time for it.

Hey girls,

Today I started a new rotation. I found it skimming through FF's rotations...it a 12 week beginner/intermediate rotation.

Today was a circuit workout so I pulled out a WWer workout I got a few years ago called Points Plus Fitness Circuit. It was only 35 mins but I got in a good sweat, I also plan on walking this evening.

Yesterday was two thirty minute walks.

So My 'new boss' called today and told me my start date, its the 30th ( next monday) yay...so excited to be starting. Meanwhile I still have that physical test at that higher paying company I told you guys about last week, its on the 25th so I'm excited about that too.

Belinda-I will pray that you don't have to have surgery on your foot. Hopefully the cortisone shot will help.

Deb-Great job on your workout. A GS rotation sounds fun.

Cookie-Good job on your computer workout, I think checking things off our 'mental' list helps with stress too so good job:) LOL at you herding your siblings together.

Hello to Melissa and Kristin!!

Ok girls...have a great TGIF:)

Morning girls.

Just finished C&W (low impact with risers) and it was so fun. I haven't done that workout in forever. I used to love my step workouts before PF started up. Hopefully it won't hurt tomorrow. It hasn't hurt in a while...

ok, have a nice afternoon. Its raining here so nothing really going on. Its suppose to quit before it gets dark so I plan on getting out of the house and walking at the local high school's running tack :)

later gators...

Hi guys! I think things will be back to a normal routine this week. My dad returns today so my mom will be home and DH's job training is over. What a crazy week. I took two rest days Thursday and Friday, although I still walked the dog both days. Today I did Intensity, step plus low hiit premix.

A lot of stress this week. Work stress, family stress, self-inflicted stress. . . I don't even know where to begin or if I even should. Maybe it is better to just forget about all the bad things that happened this week and move on, lol.

Last night I took my mom to my friend's origami owl party. She enjoyed it. I bought her a necklace that she designed. It is a grandmother locket, with her four grandchildren with their birthstones. She was happy. It was good to get her out and about. Tonight DH and I are planning on putting the children to bed and just having a stay at home date night. We need to reconnect it has been so crazy the last two weeks. I think we have averaged 20 words a day of conversation the past two weeks. :(

I am so sorry that I have not been on here like I normally am. . . it has been a whirlwind. I am going to get myself together this weekend. I have papers to grade, lessons to plan, and a house to clean (I cleaned the first floor today, second floor tomorrow). I just need to organize my time and get it together, lol.

Cookie- this year may be the death of me. . . I need to get in a positive mental state fast!

Deb- Luckily Lucy was found. When we bought Baxter, he had the chip already in him. I need to activate it though. I think it is worth it. BTW- the dog wins the race because he cuts me off, lol. He runs right in front of me, lol.

Melissa- how is school going?

Belinda- how is your foot? Did the shot help? It stinks that it keeps coming back like this.

Okay, I am off to get some more work done.

Kristin

Hi,

Yesterday I took a really hard hot yoga class but I made it thru it. The other day one of the students (former teacher) did a headstand with her legs in the lotus position:eek: I was impressed.

Today I did GS chest & tri's it's so weird to go from STS with rests to a no rest workout but it felt good. DH & I went out last night & spent a quiet day/night home today.

Belinda - I hope your foot is feeling better today.

Kristin - I'm sure you were so busy with everything going on, sorry you had to have stress on top of that. Too funny about the dog cutting you off:D

Amelia - Will you do your workouts before of after work? That is the hard part about starting a new job you need to get a new routine.

Cookie - My Mom has had psorasis most of her life at times it is pretty bad & stress does make it worse. For the last year I get either eczema or psorasis flairup on my elebow but it goes away in a couple of weeks it would help if I didn't itch it. I hope it isn't cause you too much discomfort.

Melissa - I'm sure school is keeping you real busy, hope you get some free time this weekend.

Goodnight:)

'Morning!
Belinda, how's your foot doing? Hope the shot is helping.
Amelia, you're sure getting those workouts in and am inspiring me to get more walking in. For some reason, walking is so reinvigorating for me - clears my mind, mood, and destresses.
Melissa, how was your weekend? Did you do any wine?
Kristin, the one I walk goes zigzag it seems in front of me! Hope the rain clears up so I can get her out in the early afternoon. I've been on an organizing streak at home, which is helping me to feel a sense of control at least in some small area of my life. School is crazy stressful this year - you are so right. Hope you and your dh had a nice date night.
Deb, I had a hard time envisioning what that pose would look like! That's incredible. Talk about flexible and strong. How do you not want to dig your elbow apart?!! I get it in quite a few different areas, yet never had it til a little over a year ago. It wasn't so bad this summer, but now that's school is back in session.... Is this a sauce weekend?
Yesterday worked on reorganizing the section of the basement where I workout. Had moved a lot of things into the area, so spent time sorting, purging and putting away. Still need more work (another file cabinet to store work papers) but going to vacuum and clean mats and then get going. I think I was using the work stuff near workout area as a reason not to want to workout. Sorry to sound so analytical but couldn't figure out why I was so not into going down there to want to workout. Anyhoo, its better now. Planted daylily bulbs yesterday also.
Cookie

Morning girls,

Today the rotation calls for a full body weight work, so im grabbing my favorite dvd - Power Hour  I'm not sure about the amount of weight I will use, I haven't lifted heavy in a little over 2 months  I want to be able to walk tomorrow

I also plan on walking tonight. I got my 30 minute walk in last night. and just loved it!!

Cookie-There is definitely something to walking and destressing. Glad your able to get those walks in!! When im done with my walk I feel so much better. I love them.

Deb-awesome job on your workout yesterday, glad you had a nice quiet day with your dh - I love those. I've thought about my workouts and my new work schedule, and since im only working 3 days a week, I'm thinking I will take each day as it comes. Of course i would love to get my workout in before work but will have to wait and see..

Hello to Kristin, Belinda & Melissa :)

BBL

Good morning,

Sorry for not checkin in since Friday. I did finish up this weeks STS workouts and Jessica's Smith Fall Challenge. I did modify a lot. For D22 legs, I had to skip the calve raises. As you all know, I had another Cortisone shot for my PF/heal spur Thursday. My achilles/IT bands are killing me, no matter how much I stretch, rest and ice it I did bought the PF brace from CVS yesterday. I tried the brace last night and it was too painful to use it. I haven't had a good night sleep since last week. I don't know how to position my leg without hurting it, I am in tears. And it's driving me crazy. If it doesn't stop I have my husband take me to the hospital here in town. I also been taking Ibuprofen and muscle relaxer, nothing is helping the pain/cramping in my heal spur/achilles/IT bands.

Cookie - good for you organizing your house.

Debbie - are you done with STS? I am sure, you are shocking your body with the GS's.

Kirstin - LOL, about the dog cutting you off.

Thanks Amelia! Me too. Good job, keeping up with your workouts.
Have a wonderful weekend, everyone. Will try to check in later.

Hey guys! Sorry,I have been MIA the past week; I had a lot of personal stuff going on and school was crazy so I barely had time to breathe lol. I wound up taking a rest week all of last week because my body was just so tired. I felt like I was barely able to function. This weekend I didn't get booked for any tastings, so I went home to see my parents and relax; that definitely did the job!! Tomorrow starts a new and hopefully less stressful week. I will be back with personals!

Have a great night :D
