Commit to Get Fit & Lean for October 2014

Today's workout was PUB/PLB bonus combo premix. That is a gem of a workout.

Soooo. . . date night with the hubby went well right up until the end. We had a great dinner at one of my favorite restaurants. We saw Gone Girl and both really enjoyed it. Then we get out into the parking lot and I realized that my cousin, my babysitter, she's 21, has texted me a bunch of times during the movie. Apparently they heard noises coming from upstairs so my cousin decided to take my boys in her car (she knows she is not allowed to drive them anywhere because she is a young driver and has had two accidents already), and drive all the way to her house, which is 8 exits away on the LIE and I don't take my kids there because she has friends living with her and some of them do drugs. WTF!

So I call her and I ask her what kind of noise was it and she said loud banging. These teenagers down the next block always have fireworks and they were setting some off (found out from my neighbor this morning). I asked her if it sounded like fireworks and she got quiet. Then she told me that at first she thought it was fireworks, but then my older DS woke her up that he was scared because he kept hearing banging to and when she heard the banging again she decided to leave. What? She fell asleep on the couch with my younger DS and my older DS was awake, alone in the dark watching tv. Of course he heard something! He got scared. Then I asked if she locked the house up, she said no. I asked if she closed the door all the way, so my dog wouldn't get out and she couldn't remember. DH was so pissed. SO we drive home first, and luckily nothing was going on. The door had been closed all the way, dog was safe, nothing upstairs. Then we drive all the way to her house and when I go to get the boys I realize they don't have shoes or coats.. . she just ran out without putting their shoes or jackets on, really?

When we get in the car, I asked my boys why they didn't go to my neighbor's house or my dad's because he lives 2 minutes away. They tell me that they tried to tell her to go to my neighbor's or my dad's but she said no, they would go to her house. WTF? Then when my older DS got upset that the dog might have ran away because he thought she left the door open, he started crying or breathing heavy (she tells me he has panic attacks and needs help! excuse me!). The best part is that DS tells me that she told them if I was mad, that they had to take her side because they heard the noises too. WTH?

So I texted her today because she wouldn't answer her phone. I told her I was very upset about what went down last night and her response was I shouldn't be upset, she didn't understand why I was upset. . .. when I explained that the rational thing to do would be to go to my neighbor's house or call the police if she really believed someone was upstairs in my house. To leave abruptly scaring my kids was not the best option, she got nasty with me and told me she was done! She's done?:confused::eek:o_Oo_Oo_O I told her if that's the way she wanted to be then be done, it doesn't change the fact that she let me down. Then she sends me the "okay" sign with fingers pic that you can send? Not sure how to explain it. So I just wrote "NICE." and ended it at that. No apology, no recognition of wrongdoing, nothing but an attitude. o_OThis girl is like a daughter to me. Her mom divorced her dad when she was 18 and took of for Florida and since then she has spent the holidays with me. I buy her Christmas gifts like she is my kid and I have done a lot for her and given her a lot. She became so disrespectful so fast, I was disgusted. I am disgusted. . . and sad.

Anyway, sorry for the long vent.

Belinda- nice dinner!!!! Good job with leaner legs too.

Cookie- did DH have to work today? Lol. I love it when my DH complains about the days I get off. I always remind him that I am spending that time with a pile of papers to grade, not exactly time off, lol.

Deb- enjoying the vacation now that the RT is over? Cannot wait to hear all about the new workouts you got to preview ;).

Waving hello to everyone else.

Kristin

Good afternoon,

Cathe Supersets from the Bodyblast series is done! What a fun workout.

Kirstin - I am so sorry about your babysitter! She sure didn't handle the situation right. The girl is way out of line by giving you an attitude and became so disrespectful with the text. I would be very sad too after what you have done for her in the past. I am glad you had fun at the dinner.

Waving hi to the rest. BBL!

Hard strikes cardio and abs done this morning.

Belinda- she actually texted me today to leave her jacket out on. My porch because she needs it. Still has an attitude. I'm so disgusted.

'Evening!
Belinda, Meaner Legs - what a great workout! It truly has stood the test of time. Met my mom for lunch and took her shopping. DH had to work to earn $, which I've been spending lately! I did supersets last week, or the one before, it's really good. I had doms from it.
Kristin, I'm so sorry your lovely evening was ruined. What a disappointment in your cousin. Your boys knew what to do.
Amelia, thinking of you.
Jessica, is it next week you're on vacation?
Wendy, how's everything?
Deb, hope you're relaxing and having a great vacation. Looking forward to hearing news.
Jumped on rebounder while watching a dvd for work - multitasking. I try to get 10,000 steps except on rest days. One day last week I went to bed w/o checking my count and was so disappointed to read in the morning it was 9,998! Made sure it went over 10,000 today.
Cookie

Good morning,

I also did SBF Adv. Stopwatch Planks + Shoulders 2+ Active stretch last night = 40 min. Today I will do SBF Adv. Abdominals = 15 min + Legs = 20 min. I am super sore from SS yesterday.

Cookie - Leaner Legs truly has stood the test of time. One of Cathe's best! Hope you had fun with your mom.

Kirstin - what a disappointment in your cousin. Hope Hard Strike helped to get your frustration out.

Waves Hi to everyone that checks in after me. BBL!

Couldn't walk up early today, so I finished my workout just now after walking Baxter for 45 minutes. I did Super Cuts. I need new sliding discs and Cathe isn't selling them anymore :(:(. Do any of you use another brand? If so, do you use them on hard wood floors? I need good discs for hard wood floors. Help!

So my assistant principal roped me into being a facilitator at this year's Supt. Conference Day in November. I didn't want to do it. I always feel funny presenting to colleagues that "have" to be there as opposed to "want" to be there. When my AP, who is my lead evaluator asks me to do something though, I do it. So now I have to plan my presentation.

Anyway. . .

Cookie- I am proud of my boys for knowing what to do. I told them that they are to never get in a car with anyone, even a babysitter, unless we gave them permission. I told them if it were to ever happen again (and it won't), they are to run to our neighbor's house and tell her what is going on. I am lucky to have a great neighbor. I think it is sad that my kids had more common sense than she had.

Belinda- I still don't have leaner legs. Maybe when it comes up as the deal of the day I will buy it.

Waving hello to everyone else.

Kristin

Good evening,

My workouts are done.

Kirstin - my sliding discs look brand new:D they don't glide on my carpet in my basement:( I use furniture gliders from Wal Mart, works perfectly. I know, Beachbody came out with PiYo. They using gliding discs. Maybe check on Amazon or Totatfitnessdvds.com? I am sure you gonna be fine being a facilitator at this year's Supt.Leaner Legs has a lot of squats, lol. Do squats for 30 min. you good to goo_O

Good night, ladies.

Good morning,

Plan for today is: SBF Hip, Back & Back of Legs = 10 min + Lower Body Barre 3 = 35 min.

Waving Hi to everyone that checks in today. BBL!

Well, yesterday was a rest day. Today I didn't feel like working out, but I managed to do Crossfire, the circuit blast premix. Better than nothing, right? ;). DH is away for work. He comes home tomorrow. Then next week he goes away from Tuesday to Saturday. It is going to be a rough week for sure, lol. I plan on doing workouts that I am in the mood for and trying to get six workouts in that week. Let's see if I can manage that.

Belinda- looks like it is just you and me on here the last few days, lol. Glad you are keeping me company. I bet Deb is enjoying her vacation.

Waving hello to everyone else!

Hi everyone,

Sorry I have been MIA. The 1st morning we were in Clearwater beach DH & I went for a long walk on the beach when we were in front of the condo we decided to go in the water. Within seconds I was running out of the water because I felt so much pain, we were discussing stingray's as we were walking in the water. I ran out of the water screaming, saw so much blood on my foot, DH couldn't see what happened and I just said it's bad! I started rolling around in the sand because of the pain but knew I needed to get to the bench at the top of the beach. DH wanted to carry me but was also trying to put pressure of the wound because the blood was squirting out (horizonically). Not sure how we did it but we made it to the top (really long beach). DH called 911 and kept pressure on my foot but the blood was pouring out.

So many people offered to help one brought us a towel, another went to the pool to get my stuff & another couple helped get some of the sand & blood off of us with a hose. The EMT's arrived & said it was a stingray sting (I thought maybe a crab bite because of all the blood) apparently it hit my vein which it doesn't always. Believe it or not heat applied or putting your foot in a bucket of very hot water is what helps the pain (it was a 9 on a scale of 1-10). We went to Urgent Care because I needed a tetnis shot & to be checked out. Withing a coulple of hours the pain was gone & my ankle is swollen but other than be tired from the blood loss I am fine. Just so afraid to go in the water:)

Looks like you are all doing a great job with your workouts! I will be back tomorrow with personals.

Have a great weekend!

'Morning!
Belinda, are you going to do SB's new challenge? I saw someone posted she has a new one starting on Monday.
Kristin, doing the workouts that are fun and you want to do sounds like a good plan. I like to have 10,000 steps at least 25/30 days, but this month I'm hoping to have make it17/31 since this has been a hectic month for me. Why do we make so many rules for ourselves?
Deb, TG you weren't alone! That was extremely frightening. I'm really glad you're better. How much longer are you there? Do you plan to go back in?
Up early to go to a training in the western part of the state and leaving in a few minutes. Have managed to get workouts in every day but can't remember where I left off. Yesterday was an old Tracie Long - weights first, and I love, love, love that wo. Like an older-style Cathe one so it gets me good. Friend's mom died yesterday so that was last evening and spending day w/her today as we ride together.
Waves hi to all who follow.
Cookie

Good morning,

I got my workout in late last night. Had to take care of my poor baby. The vet had to take out 5 fatty tissue out and 1 cyst. I also had the vet clean this teeth too. I will see a specialist for my damaged nerves next week. My tooth is still killing me and the pain is getting worst.

Cookie - Yes, I will do the next challenge on Monday. Suzanne sent out the rotation, looks great. Sorry about the loss of your friends mom. My thoughts and prayers are with them.

Debbie - OMG! How frightening. I am so glad you got help right away and feeling a little better. I am always afraid to go into the ocean, very dangerous!

Kirstin - I am glad you also kept me company! Good job on your workouts. Hope the week goes by fast for you next week.

I will be back after my workout.

Hi everyone. Spent most of my morning and part of the afternoon cleaning . Finally was able to get an hour to myself to do a workout. I did IMAX 2. I almost died during the ninth interval with the plié jumps. I forgot those were in there and I hate them so much, lol. I ended up just doing regular jacks for the last two sets because my legs couldn't take it. What I love about IMAX 2 is the feeling I get when it is over, lol. DH is on his way home. I am getting tired of his job requiring him to travel. I hate playing single mom. It is exhausting, plus work on top of it. . . ugh!

Deb- I am so sorry to hear that happened to you. That is one of my biggest fears when going in the ocean. The only thing that tops that is a shark attack! I am glad you are feeling a little better. That must have been so frightening, not knowing what happened or what it was at first.

Cookie- why do we make so many rules for ourselves? I feel like I am never happy with whatever I accomplish or do. I always think about the next thing, project, workout, food choice. It is tiring. I wish I could let go.

Belinda- poor baby! He looks so sad in the photo too. She won't itch or bite at the stitches? I think my dog would be chewing them off.

BB tomorrow.

Kristin

Kirstin - yesterday he was still out of it. I had to put a cone around this neck today. He is trying to pull and bite the stitches. Nice one today. IMAX 2 is tough. I always think that workouts goes on forever.

Debbie - how are you doing?

High Reps just finished. I had slight butt DOMs going on from IMAX 2, which I wasn't expecting. I am happy with how I've been keeping up with my workouts. My eating on the other hand, not so much. I know it is such an important factor in all this, but I cannot seem to keep it clean with everything going on. Now with Halloween approaching and then the holidays. . .

Belinda- ah, the drugs wore off, lol. I was thinking that Baxter would have ripped them out by now, lol.

Deb- hope you are feeling better.

Waving hello to everyone else. Hope you had a great weekend.

Kristin

Hi,

I'm feeling better my ankle is healing just a little sore & swollen but no problems walking. DH has gone in the water the last couple of days, me just up to my toes:) I don't think I'll ever forget the look on DH's face. I'm the talk of the condo & beach LOL. More people saw & heard than I knew. There are 144 units that could have seen me from their balconies plus the people on the beach & pool.

We went to the gym 2x so far & have been walking the beach. The Daytona trip was so much fun. We previewed the new workouts they are HIIT but I did modify because of my sore back from yoga. They are fun! She also showed us some of the compound weight work but without the blasts. I hope there is a premix that will have just the weights. We used 5lb. at Daytona but Cathe said you would use 8-10lb during the actual workouts. I'm going to stick with 5's at 1st. The food was really good, met a lot of really nice Cathlete's. We had more free time than on the NJ RT which was nice because the weather was nice and you could hang at the pool or beach. DH & I walked the beach both days.

Belinda - Awww, your poor doggie:( I hope he is feeling better it looks like a lot of stitches. At least his teeth are clean too! Great job with your workouts:)

Kristin - So sorry you had to go thru that on your date night:( You have taught your boy's well! I can't wait to see Gone Girl, didn't read the book but heard if you didn't at this point just go see the movie. I hear you on the Halloween candy I see it all over so tempting mine is at home so will have problems when I get back:)

Cookie - You are good with your steps! One day on the Daytona RT had just under 20,000 steps don't think I will see that number ever again. We are hear until next Saturday. How long is your business trip?

Amelia - Are you still having warm weather?

Waves hi to everyone!

Goodnight:)

I forgot to say:

I saw Iris (a couple of years ago she used to post with our group) at the Daytona RT, she looks great!! She looked like she was having so much fun.

Kristin - Cathe mentioned she thinks she will do another IMAX.

Good morning,

Just came back from the specialist for my tooth. I need a root canal on the Oct 29o_O:( I am not happy about that at all.

Browler is doing great as long as he is wearing Elizabethan collar for him. They look like lampshade its worn to keep the dog from getting at stitches or licking. Every time I try to take it off him, he is trying to lick his stitches. On Wednesday he is getting the draining tube out and next Monday he is getting the stitches out. Gonna be a busy week for us.

Cookie - how are you doing?

Debbie - glad you are back from the RT and had fun. Now, you are scaring me about HiiT workouts. How are these workouts different from her other workouts? Glad Iris is happy and doing great.

Kirstin - wtg, on High Reps and IMAX2. Both are tough workouts. Don't beat yourself up about not eating clean all the time. I try to eat clean during the week and on the weekend I have a cheat meal. That works for me.

I will be back later to report my workout. Hi to everyone that checks in after me.

Hi all. I have given up on waking up early to get my workouts done. I just feel as though I couldn't give it my 100% focus or energy at 5 in the morning. Today I got my workout in after work, at 5. I figured I can try this out. Go home, do hw with kids, play with dog, workout then eat dinner. Think it will work? It worked today because one DS had BB practice and DH took him, so I was down two people, lol. My other DS was playing and I got the dog so tired, he was more than happy to chill out with a bone while I did All Out, plus core 1. I skipped the discs because mine do not work well on the hardwood anymore. Both "pads" have big holes in them. I need to get new ones.

Deb- so excited for the new workouts. I am nervous about the Hiit. As much as I love hiit because of the results, I sometimes won't do it if I feel it is too hard. For example, tabatacise. . . I rarely do it because I dread it. I dread Cardio Core Circuit too. The low Hiit I really love though. I cannot wait to try the workouts out though. I am interested in what the new moves are going to be.

Belinda- sorry to hear about the root canal. I absolutely hate root canals. Monday will be here before you know it. The things we do and pay for for our dogs, lol. I am taking mine to agility class Wednesday at 8. Like I don't have enough craziness going on with DH leaving tomorrow for work. I need to get my head examined, I swear, lol.

Waving hello to everyone else!

Kristin
