Today's workout was PUB/PLB bonus combo premix. That is a gem of a workout.
Soooo. . . date night with the hubby went well right up until the end. We had a great dinner at one of my favorite restaurants. We saw Gone Girl and both really enjoyed it. Then we get out into the parking lot and I realized that my cousin, my babysitter, she's 21, has texted me a bunch of times during the movie. Apparently they heard noises coming from upstairs so my cousin decided to take my boys in her car (she knows she is not allowed to drive them anywhere because she is a young driver and has had two accidents already), and drive all the way to her house, which is 8 exits away on the LIE and I don't take my kids there because she has friends living with her and some of them do drugs. WTF!
So I call her and I ask her what kind of noise was it and she said loud banging. These teenagers down the next block always have fireworks and they were setting some off (found out from my neighbor this morning). I asked her if it sounded like fireworks and she got quiet. Then she told me that at first she thought it was fireworks, but then my older DS woke her up that he was scared because he kept hearing banging to and when she heard the banging again she decided to leave. What? She fell asleep on the couch with my younger DS and my older DS was awake, alone in the dark watching tv. Of course he heard something! He got scared. Then I asked if she locked the house up, she said no. I asked if she closed the door all the way, so my dog wouldn't get out and she couldn't remember. DH was so pissed. SO we drive home first, and luckily nothing was going on. The door had been closed all the way, dog was safe, nothing upstairs. Then we drive all the way to her house and when I go to get the boys I realize they don't have shoes or coats.. . she just ran out without putting their shoes or jackets on, really?
When we get in the car, I asked my boys why they didn't go to my neighbor's house or my dad's because he lives 2 minutes away. They tell me that they tried to tell her to go to my neighbor's or my dad's but she said no, they would go to her house. WTF? Then when my older DS got upset that the dog might have ran away because he thought she left the door open, he started crying or breathing heavy (she tells me he has panic attacks and needs help! excuse me!). The best part is that DS tells me that she told them if I was mad, that they had to take her side because they heard the noises too. WTH?
So I texted her today because she wouldn't answer her phone. I told her I was very upset about what went down last night and her response was I shouldn't be upset, she didn't understand why I was upset. . .. when I explained that the rational thing to do would be to go to my neighbor's house or call the police if she really believed someone was upstairs in my house. To leave abruptly scaring my kids was not the best option, she got nasty with me and told me she was done! She's done?
I told her if that's the way she wanted to be then be done, it doesn't change the fact that she let me down. Then she sends me the "okay" sign with fingers pic that you can send? Not sure how to explain it. So I just wrote "NICE." and ended it at that. No apology, no recognition of wrongdoing, nothing but an attitude.
This girl is like a daughter to me. Her mom divorced her dad when she was 18 and took of for Florida and since then she has spent the holidays with me. I buy her Christmas gifts like she is my kid and I have done a lot for her and given her a lot. She became so disrespectful so fast, I was disgusted. I am disgusted. . . and sad.
Anyway, sorry for the long vent.
Belinda- nice dinner!!!! Good job with leaner legs too.
Cookie- did DH have to work today? Lol. I love it when my DH complains about the days I get off. I always remind him that I am spending that time with a pile of papers to grade, not exactly time off, lol.
Deb- enjoying the vacation now that the RT is over? Cannot wait to hear all about the new workouts you got to preview
.
Waving hello to everyone else.
