Commit to get FIT & Lean for August!

Good morning everyone! This is my last week of summer vacation and then classes start monday. YUCK!

Today I'm doing STS D4 and extended stretch. My hamstrings are sooooo tight. Then I'm going upstate to visit my parents until Thursday. Tonight we are having dinner with my brother and his gf. I can't stand her lol. She is so rude and she controls every little thing my brother does, and he's dumb enough to allow it. He was supposed to go to school in CA to get his degree and put so much effort into getting accepted, but she threw a hissy so he stayed. Now he works at the Olive Garden, no school, nothing. I get that it was his decision, but I still can't stand her. One night I was there and we decided to go to the movies but she was working so on the way home he called her and I could hear her screaming at the other end because she was mad he went out, despite the fact that SHE WAS AT WORK!!!! My mom says she never sees or hears from him anymore. Ugh bad news, guys :(. It will take a lot of effort and wine for me not to stab her with my fork.

Deb, glad you had such beautiful weather at the beach! Lol Kristin and I don't have beach traffic but we have traffic everywhere else imaginable  how are the barre workouts? Yeah, I find if you break up Yoga X into vinyasa 1 day/balance the other then it's bearable.

Amelia,I'm sorry to hear about the email :(. {{{HUGS!!!!}}} I agree with Kristin, keep trying for something! You will get there!

Kristin, I'm so happy to hear things are going great with the dog. I saw your pics on fb and he is a cutie!

Cookie, sorry to hear about work ruining the last of your vacay :(. Hopefully that transfer will come thru. Great job on getting those workouts in!

Belinda, oh no, sorry to hear about the sinuses! But I'm glad you had fun on your beach vacation. You guys get to travel so much, I love it!

Hi,

It was strange working in NYC & it not being the holidays. Much more quiet:) & not as many displays! I also went to one of my stores too. This week will be rough but it seems not as bad as I thought.

I was going to do weights tonight but I have TOMS today & a headache so decided to take 2 classes at the gym tomorrow with one of my favorite instructors.

Belinda - I hope you feel better soon. Your vacation sounded like fun, my SIL said on the way home the rain was really bad especially over the long, long bridge (don't rememeber the name).

Kristin - Do you have a fenced in yard or do you need to walk the dog?

Melissa - That is bad news about your brother's gf, she should want the best for him & not be so controlling:( Hopefully he will get sick of it.

Amelia - How are you doing?

Cookie - Ugh, on having to do work on vacation:( Maybe something better will come along. Happy to see you back on the thread:)

Goodnight:)

Hi guys. Yesterday was a lot of running around. We took the puppy to the pet, had to get DH's windshield fixed and did some shopping. We also went on two dog walks. I began Meso 2 last night with disc 13. My chest is feeling pre-DOMs lol.

My next door neighbor who also happens to own a boxer loaned us a book and DVDs with the Dog Whisperer guy. DH and I watched the first DVD together. It was very interesting. I think we are doing a lot of the right things with the puppy. It is very important to me that we train him to behave the right way and that he does not destroy my house that I worked so hard to get. He is pretty good when going on walks and playing in the backyard. The hardest part about training him is really the boys getting in the way. If I tell them to stay back, they have a hard time listening, lol. They just want to be with the dog. I am going to have them watch the DVD that I watched last night at some point today.

I cannot believe I have to report back to work next week. Where did the summer go? I think this was the best summer we have had in such a long time. We had a lot of parties and BBQs and got a lot of enjoyment out of the new house, plus the new puppy. I hope this trend continues and we have an excellent fall.

Melissa- Ugh on school starting next week. Double ugh on the brother's bitchy girlfriend. That is the worst! Your brother sounds like he needs to grow a set, no offense. Getting mad that he went to the movies with his sister while she was at work, ridiculous!

Deb- We have a nice, big fenced yard. It is fully fenced. The front of the fence is PVC (6 ft) and the rest is 6 ft stockade, so he is secure back there. We are taking him on daily walks as well twice a day.

Belinda- we went to a shelter, but it did not go well. We ended up getting him at a puppy store. After buying him I read that the best place to get a purebred is through a breeder, but he has been fine. I am in love with him.

Cookie- did you hear about the rally against the Common Core tests out here on Long Island. 1500 parents, teachers and students showed up. It was led by a Superintendent of Comsewogue School District. A movement is starting to happen out here. . . How about upstate?

Okay, cardio is on the agenda for today. It is supposed to be CCC, but I really dislike that one; I loathe it really, lol. It is the only Cathe dvd I just cannot like. I am probably doing something else, lol.

BB later!

Kristin

Good morning! Today I plan on doing the bootcamp/kickbox cardio premix from 4DS. Tonight I'm going out to dinner with my friends from home; I haven't seen these girls since the beginning of the summer, so I'm really excited :)

Dinner with my brother & parents last night was nice, minus the troll gf. I can't stand that girl! She is so RUDE: walks into my parents' house, doesn't say hello or greet anyone (I didn't expect her to greet me cuz I know she doesn't like me, but my PARENTS?? Unacceptable.) Then at dinner, no matter what the conversation was about she found some way to bring it back to an irrelevant topic about herself. My dad could've been talking about his prostate and she'd be like "That reminds me of the time I went to Sephora to buy some makeup." No, it doesn't! I texted my cousin that I was gonna stab her with my fork but turned out I accidentally texted the guy I went out with instead  He responded "LOL. Please remind me not to get on your bad side." So if we never hear from him again, we know why

Deb, how far are you from the city? Hope your HA went away and have fun at your classes tonight! Unfortunately I don't think my brother will get sick of it; she is his 1st serious gf (he's 28) and they are living together. Gag me with a spoon lol

Kristin, nice job on the workout last night! I think M2 is my favorite. That is awesome about the DVD! Are you going to do the obedience school thing too? Ugh tell me about it, the summer FLEW by. I can't believe I'm printing out notes for school already. We also got some assignments and we didn't even start yet. UGH! OMG, no offense taken, my brother TOTALLY needs to grow a pair! I have bigger ones than he does sometimes!! He is such a pushover especially when it comes to girls. Last night she kept talking to him like he was a 5 year old and I wanted to throw my cole slaw at her face. I hear ya on CCC; that workout has a HUGE dread factor for me, right up there with 40/20.

Have a great day!

Good evening,

I did D10 + yoga last night. Today I did Breathless Body w/Amy Dixon and yoga. Had to modify some moves.

Kirstin - I can't wait to start M2. You and your puppy will learn a lot from the Dog Whisperer DVD. Wished they had them 9 years ago. Our beagle is a purebred from the shelter. She is a sweetheart. All my other dogs are mix(?):p I still love them. If you have time can you post a pic of your new puppy:D Sounds like you have a very, very good dog. So happy for your guys.

Melissa - Maybe your mom and dad needs to have a talk with your brother:eek: Can't believe she is so rude.Besides the rude gf, glad you had fun at your parents house. I also have a huge dread factor for CCC:confused: BC/KB is a tough one. Haven't done that one in a long time.

Debbie - thank you. I feel a little better today. Taking lots of vitamins. Do you live close to NYC? I love NY, had lots of fun a few month ago. Hope you headache is better. Hate those

Hi to Cookie and Amelia.

I will be back in the morning.

'Evening!
Belinda, does your beagle bark a lot? We had one when I was a kid, and he would dig holes in the back yard and bark a lot. Often wondered if he was trying to escape being in a family with so many kids.
Amelia, thinking of you.
Kristin, I can hear your pride and love of the puppy. The Dog Whisperer dvd sounds like a great idea. We always have done obedience classes and that has been a huge help not just for the dogs but me - I learned how I needed to do for them to behave.
Melissa, your poor family having to put up with the girl! I would have a hard time with her also.
Deb, did you go to the city today?
Got in about 6.5 miles walking today. Going to read the paper and then bed, since I did not sleep well last night at all.
Cookie

Hi,

I took a spin class & total body. I didn't sleep well tonight so I'm going to make this quick:) Just finished rearranging plane seats for my inlaws so they can be next to the bathroom/back of the plane, it was easy because not where most people want to be:)

I'm about 60 - 70 min. train ride from NYC, go again tomorrow.

Belinda - I'm glad your feeling better & great job with your workouts.

Kristin - The kids are the hardest part with dog training mine would always wind up the dog. The yard sounds perfect for the dog, but the walking does wear them out.

Melissa - Too funny about mixing up the texts but I'm sure he'll find it funny, just fill him in. Have fun with your friends:)

Amelia - Hi

Goodnight:)

Morning ladies,

Plan for today is: STS D11 and yoga.

Cookie - our beagle really doesn't bark a lot. She pretty quit for the most part. She park when we feed her:eek: she is so happy when we give her food:rolleyes: she barks and runs in circles:p. Silly dog. Wow, that's a lot of miles you walked. I couldn't sleep the night before. I still wake up a few times at night:eek:

Debbie - that is so cool you live that close to NY. Always thought you drive to NY. The traffic in NY is horrible. LOL, about your in laws...Aleisia and I sat once right behind the bathrooms in an plan (I think it was after the RT), never again. The bathroom started to smell really bad  It was horrible:(We did complaint to the airlines, got some money back from our flight.

I will be back after my workout. Happy Hump Day.

Hey guys. Yesterday I did TTM (triple tabata premix) and then Ab Circuits, NE Abs. I spent the day cleaning the house, focusing on the floors. My backyard is still a lot of dirt, so being outside and running around the backyard with the dog, all of us are tracking dirt in the house. I scrubbed the floors and the stairs good. They are shiny again, lol. After working out in the early evening I went food shopping. I was so exhausted last night, lol. Watching these Cesar Milan DVDS I am learning a lot about training the dog. It seems to be working.

My mom called just now and I got a little upset when I got off the phone with her. She was trying to ask me where my brother and his fiancé are registered, but she couldn't put the words together. She was like "Where do we. . . you know. . . where. . .?" Then she finally said, "You know, to get them a present." Then she repeated herself a few times. It scares me to death. I hung up with her and I immediately just started crying. I feel like she is getting worse. Language. . . she is beginning to really struggle with finding words. This is a woman who can complete Sunday crossword puzzles in the NYT. It is so scary to me. Sorry, I guess I had to get that out. . .

Belinda- I will try to post a pic soon. I have pics on my phone, but right now I am on the laptop. He is adorable. Have fun with D11. You are almost there on Meso 2, lol. Today I am doing the legs. I love MEso 2 legs because of the trisets.

Cookie- I plan on enrolling him in obedience and training classes after his last vaccine. It is really important to me to get the dog to behave the right way. I want him to have good manners, lol.

Melissa- cole slaw in her face, lol. That would send a message, wouldn't it? Definitely going to do the obedience training too. I had a bad experience with my boxer when I was a kid. He was so bad and ran the house so much, my dad just got rid of him. Very traumatic experience for me :(. Don't want to be in that spot with this dog. I want my boys to enjoy him and have him for his lifetime.

Deb- yes, the boys do interfere with the training a bit, lol. However, when they get in the way I make them stay back or go inside. The dog sees them listening to me, and I think that reinforces my position as the leader to the dog, if that makes sense.

Waving to Amelia. Check in, girl!

Okay, off to make breakfast. I am taking my mom to get my bro's fiancé a gift for her shower.

Kristin

Hey girls,

Just finished low max step combos. The last few days I have been power walking and just watching what I eat, doing really well.:)

So I just sent out resume's to local doctor offices. I filled out three applications last night and I have an assessment scheduled for sept. 9th for a really good job about 15 mins away. I'm feeling really good about everything.

About that job I got turned down for:: my husband found out that it wasn't anything personal, they just had 25 interviews and could only hire 6. They told him for me to keep trying because eventually I will get in there.:)

Melissa-Wow, sounds the troll GF needs a good kick in the pants. LOL at you texting that guy, its so easy to do that though- lord knows I do all the time:rolleyes:. Have a great time with your friends.

Debbie- Im so out of the loop these days, im sorry...are you on a vacation? Great job with your spin class yesterday :)

Kristin-I love Cesar Milan, watching his shows is how I trained my lab to walk with me, by my side. He's great! What kind of puppy did you get?Great job with your workout!!

Belinda- Great workouts planned for today.

Hi girls! Busy day today: I did HIIT Pyramid & ab circuits no equip abs this morning, then my BFF and I went to get our hair done. I brought her daughter's birthday gifts with me because i cant go to the birthday party his weekend; she is obsessed with Disney princess everything so one of the gifts i got her was an Ariel crown. when she opened it, she goes "mommy, how did aunt melissa GET this?!?!" So cute. Later, my BFF's hubs texted me a pic of the little girl wearing the crown and playing with the princess legos i got her. so freakin cute, I love kids lol! Afterwards, I went out to dinner with my parents. Today is my last day upstate, then it's back to the island tomorrow!

Deb, I haven't been sleeping well either. Not sure what's up with that  I didn't fall asleep until 330 this morning and I had to get up at 730. Hopefully we will both sleep soundly tonight ;)

Belinda, you're right abut the traffic in NY: horrible! Lol about the plane/bathroom.

Kristin, I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. {{HUGS!!!!}}. Do you think speech pathology would help? I'm not sure how that works. Obedience school would be great for the dog to get him started early. You guys seem to have this training thing down, so I wouldn't worry ;)

Amelia, awesome job with keeping up with your workouts! And that is SO great to hear about the job prospects. I'm really happy for you!

Hi cookie!!

Hi,

I took a yoga class today. The lack of sleep is catching up even though I slept good last night. Working in the city is stressful between the crowds, 100+ yr. old elevator I need to take to the stockroom it wears me out. The one thing I have learned if I take the stairs in Penn Station instead of the escalator I have my own space:) Not very many people do stairs:eek:

Belinda - Too funny about the plane story but the must have been a terrible experience. This time they have traffic cops near Macy's intersection so that is helping.

Kristin - Sorry about your Mom, I know with my MIL she has good days & bad. I'm so happy for her when she has good days it almost makes you forget she has the disease. You are probably right that the dog picks up when the boys listen to you.

Melissa - You bff's daughter sounds so cute:) I hope you get a good night sleep tonight. Do you have a rough schedule this semester?

Amelia - I remember when I 1st joined this group that you worked in a Dr.'s office & liked it. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Cookie - Waves hi

Goodnight:)

Morning,

Not sure what I will do after work today, will report back with that.

Does anybody here have a rebounder? I stumbled across one on the HSN the other night, it looked really fun.

Deb-Great job on the yoga class! I would definitely take the stairs then...space is important.

Melissa- Sounds like you had a lovely day yesterday! So cute about the princess crown too. Great job on your workouts.

Cookie-Hopefully your sleeping better, for some reason I didn't sleep good tuesday night. My eye's popped open around 1am and I tossed and turned for about 2 hours. Great job with your walk.

ok girls, bbl - have a great day:)

Good morning,

I don't see my post from last night:eek: I did D11, abs, yoga and went for a long walk yesterday. Today I will do cardio and yoga.

Amelia - I don't have a rebounder:eek: I don't need more exercise equipment. My step is collecting dust:confused: Hope you get the job Fingers crossed.

Debbie - it was horrible on that plane:confused: I been to that Macy's in NYC. Good job with your yoga workout last night. Good for you taking the stairs too. You are right, not many people take the stairs:(

Kirstin - how are your legs feeling today?

Melissa - did you do CCC last night? So cute about the princess crown.

I will check in later.

Good morning! Today will be a rest day for me. Maybe some yoga when I get back to LI? My mentor from my internship texted me yesterday and wants to get together for lunch next weekend. That made me feel good :)

Deb, lol it's so true about the stairs in penn! I usually take them too. How did you sleep last night? I actually slept a whole 8 hrs, yay! This semester looks pretty rough because we go from 8-5 M-Thurs but we do have Fridays off which is good cuz I can work. I also heard its gonna be a hard one :(.

Amelia, I've never tried using a rebounder but I heard they are awesome! I thik they even have workout DVDs for them. Let us know if you decide to get one.

Belinda, nice job on your workout yesterday! Nope, no CCC for me: one HIIT workout was enough  I don't know how people do back to back HIITs; my legs are always so sore at the end of just one

Have a great day ladies!

Good evening,

Today I did Zumba = 41 min + yoga = 15 min.

Melissa - enjoy your rest day today. That is so cool, your mentor wants to get together for lunch next weekend.

Waving Hallo to everyone that checks in after me.

I will be back in the morning. Good night.

Yoga relax premix #1 done! Felt good. I have a feeling ill be getting a good night's sleep tonight...fingers crossed!

Belinda, awesome workout combo! Zumba is so much fun :)

Good night!

Hi guys. Yesterday ended up being a rest day for me. Today I did STS D14, legs. I doubt I will be able to walk tomorrow. I went back to school clothes shopping for the boys with my girlfriend. It was a lot of fun. All of our boys stayed home with her husband, so we had some peace and quiet, it was great. A week from today I have to report back to work. I am not really prepared, I have to say . I need to go through my first planned unit.

Anyway. . . the puppy Baxter was testing me this morning. I think it was the fact that it was raining out, so he couldn't play outside this morning. He wouldn't listen or come when I called him. I called him a dozen times and he wouldn't listen. Then I picked up all his doggy toys that he surrounded himself with and I put them in the closet. Then I called him again. This time he came. . . this pack leader training works. I walked him alone today in the morning, he did not want anything to do with walking. Then we walked tonight as a family pack and he was pretty much doing fine, except he was trying to lead and pull me/DH (we take turns). I am going to call some dog obedience training places tomorrow. I just want to make sure we get him trained the right way and we don't have problems later on when he is a full grown beast, lol.

Melissa- my mom sees her neurologist monthly and then he gives her brain exercises to do on her own, even what they call brain yoga. It makes me sad that she is struggling to find words, but I guess we all have to take this one day at a time. Nice job on the yoga. I hope you get a good night's sleep.

Amelia- we got a boxer puppy. He is thirteen weeks old and he is adorable. Which reminds me. . . I have to figure out how to post pics from my phone to this site. I never reply to this check in on my phone, I've only done it once or twice and forget how to do it. I will have to play around with it later.

Belinda- My legs are shaking and wobbly right now, lol. I love the trisets, but they are evil.

Deb- when my mom has bad days it is scary to me. I just think about what the future will be like and it scares me. I know I have to stay positive and strong. It is hard when I see her struggling mentally though.

Waving hello to Cookie!

Kristin

Hi,

I worked late tonight so by the time I made dinner & cleaned up not much time to even sit down, so no workout:( I can't believe it's Labor Day next weekend . . . I prefer when it is later.

Belinda - I have some Zumba tapes but haven't opened them yet:confused: It must have been a fun workout:) At dinner I was mentioning to DH & DS about your bathroom incident & DS said the same thing happened to him & gf & it was horrible.

Kristin - It's so hard to understand what your Mom is going through. DH will be a basket case if his Mom's doesn't remember him someday. Starting to think as long as they see you often that isn't likely to happen:confused: You are doing a great job with the puppy!

Melissa - It sounds like your semester is tough but the good thing is you only have to make it through Thursday. I guess your doing the countdown like Kristin:)

Amelia - I used to have a rebounder a few years ago, but the boys ended up taking it over. It was fun, I think Cookie mentions that she uses one.

Cookie - Hi

Goodnight:)
