Commit to get Fit & Lean for April!

Morning girls,

Yesterday I did TJ Kick, punch & jam.

Amelia - how is your back today? Good job on the weight loss. That's fantastic.

Waving Hi to the rest of the gang.

Hi ladies. I am sorry I have been MIA. It was a crazy week. Thursday we meet with our mortgage broker and signed what seemed like a million papers. . . I know this is only the prelude, but it seemed like A LOT. Then Baseball season started (practices for TWO!), and packing, plus my favorite uncle, who lives upstate came down to visit my parents, so I went to see him. . . it has been crazy. I had no workout on Thursday. Friday I did BM2 cardio and weights premix. Yesterday I did KPC kicking and punching premix. Today I am doing Yoga Max. We are officially in contract! Appraisal this week and our house is officially being listed as a rental. A lot going on. . . I hope to get a renter sooner rather than later. Ideally, I would like someone in here June 1st, even if it means staying with my parents for a few days.

Anyway. . . that is why I haven't been around. I've been reading posts when I can though. . .

Deb- I am so sorry to hear about your son. Good thing is you are not burying your head in the sand. Better to face something like this head on. I am sure your son is grateful to have a strong mother like you. My sister has bipolar disorder (not saying your son does, but is a serious issue). My parents ignore it though and act like it doesn't exist, which makes it worse for everyone involved. Hence the reason I stay away from her at this point in my life. When it comes to mental health, whether it be depression or something more serious, it has to be dealt with. Avoidance will just make it worse. I think it is wonderful that you are dealing with this head on!

Amelia- sorry to hear about your back. I think losing one or two pounds a week is good and I've heard people who lose weight slowly, keep it off. Good job!

Belina- I had to laugh when you wrote you wished the house wasn't so big. I'd love to feel that way, lol. My hous eis soooo cramped and tiny. Packing it up has made it feel a little more spacious. Still, I cannot wait to get into my new house, with STAIRS and a real eat-in-kitchen, real living room and den. I am over the moon! That is great that you are going to Germany! So much to look forward to for all of us it seems!
Lori- how's the dog? Was DS surprised? I hope all went well!

Cookie-one more week until the ELA. Cannot wait for the testing to be over with!

Okay, off to do yoga max!

Kristin

'Evening!
Belinda, you've certainly been getting in your workouts and they sound like fun ones too.
Kristin, congrats on almost having the house. So exciting. Are you almost packed?
Lori, did the dog and parents arrive?
Amelia, how's your back and your dog? Hope both are doing well.
Deb, thinking of you and your family. It certainly is a challenging time for you.
Got two walks in today and Imax2, which I missed doing. been a while. Anyway, now the bottom of my feet feel sore! Back to school tomorrow. Got a call today they want me to speak at a regional advisory council - 7:30 in the morning. Hope I can squeeze in Cathe before leaving.

Hi,

We ended up going to Florida. My son is staying with my inlaws & they are loving it. My other son is with us but only for a couple of days. I'm glad we went, we are at my inlaws condo 1st Dad next it's a good thing we came because DH's Aunt was here 10 days ago & thought a water bottle was leaking but didn't check further & when we came it was the water line to the refrig & there was water all over the kitchen. TG no damage could have been bad though.

We didn't have the chance to renew our vows in Hawaii so I set-up something on the beach here for Tuesday. In the craziness I forgot the ring I bought for DH so I found something real cheap in Target for the ceremony.

Belinda - Will you visit friends along with your sisters in Germany?

Lori - I'm hoping your dog arrived, he will be so happy. Do you have a backyard for him?

Kristin - I don't think I heard anyone have such a quick turnaround with a house but I bet in the end it will be less stress. I think people from an older generation didn't really know how to deal with those illnesses.

Amelia - Great job with the weight loss & caffeine challenge!

Cookie - I hope work has been less stressful for you. I hope you are still winning the challenge.

Goodnight:)

Yesterday was a 35 min walk and today was a 60 minute hike @ the park. It was so pretty today.

My back is doing a lot better but I want to be 100% sure. So I plan on starting back with weights on Monday. I plan on starting the LIS / Xtrain rotation. :) Im so excited

bb tomorrow. Off work so I should have time to check in :)

'Evening!
Belinda, have you already gone to Germany?!! You've been quiet lately.
Amelia, glad your back is doing better. How's the dog doing? I got in a lot of miles walking last week but not today that's for sure. Even somehow or another reset my fitbit about 2 o'clock this afternoon. Have no idea what I did but my steps disappeared!
Kristin, that was fast on the house. Very exciting for you. How will you find renters?
Lori, hope you're enjoying the time with your parents and the dog.
Deb, good thing you went to your inlaws! That could have been a real mess. Glad it is working out with your son at your inlaws and the other one with you. Will he be there for the renewal ceremony? My mom and step dad did something similar years ago - they went to a pawn shop!
Drill max today. Did Tonique yesterday and very disappointed I'm not sore. Guess Cathe already has me used to torture.
Have a hummungous SED report due for Wednesday plus they're coming for a site review on Thursday. I cannot wait for this week to be over already.
Cookie

Hey Cookie! Nice job with drill max, thats a toughie. That fitbit drove me nuts...i hope you get yours figured out soon.

Girls, I've got some questions on the workout cards. I plan on starting a rotation next Monday and plan on writing down my weights/reps with xtrain. My question is, what do you guys print your WO cards on? Just regular paper or index cards or what? I noticed Cathe uses a clipboard to keep everything together...I may do that.

Good evening,

I started week 3 with the TJ rotation. I did cardio today.
Cookie - no I am still here. Just a lot going on.

Debbie - yes,, I will visit friends. Wow you had a crazy weekend. Glad your family helping out with your son.

Kirstin - we also bought the first house we looked at. I am sure you find a renter soon.

Amelia - I write everything on a piece of paper. Hope this helps.

Lori - must be busy with family?

Good night.

Wow, everyone must be busy if I'm the first one checking in and it's after 9:00 est!
Wish I could be reporting I did legs, and then went for a run, and then bis and tris, oh and 55 minutes of abs but no. I've spent the day at a computer working on a state report! My fingers may have doms tomorrow. Took the dogs out for a walk but it's been a finger workout day.
Cookie

Evening ladies. It has been a busy two days. My dad called me today while I was on my way to picking up my boys after work. He was at a furniture store and he told me to meet him there. He ended up buying us our living room and dining room set!!!:eek::eek: The furniture is beautiful. I am really getting more and more excited by the day now, lol.

Work is okay. . . still prepping for the test. I think my students are starting to get fried from it. The test is next week, three days, 90 minutes each day. Then next week it is math. It messes up the schedule so much. I won't see two out of five classes three days next week and three days the following week to fit in all the testing. Whatever!

Belinda- my realtor is already lining up people to see my house. I am hoping to have someone in here by June. If it's May, I may have to stay with my parents until we close.

Amelia- I didn't print out the workout cards. I just wrote the weights in the XTRAIN user guide on the pages for the weight workouts. I wrote it in pencil, and erased it to increase the numbers as I went through the rotation.

Deb- I think the seller is anxious to close because this was a "flip" for him. The longer it takes to close, the more money he is losing.

Cookie- our real estate agent is going to be our broker for the rental. She thinks she can have this house occupied quickly. I am hoping!

Waving hello to Lori!

Kristin

Morning,

Yesterday I did sculpt and abs. Today I will do TJ CP.

Good for you, Kirsten. Things are looking good.

Cookie - hope you get your workout in soon. It's in that 80's here. Loving it.

I will be back later.

Hey everyone. Today's workout was SM. I was going to add on the blast off from LIC, but I don't have it in me. I am burnt. I am not sure if it is TOTM coming on or stress about the test, but I am just blah. . .

Cookie- I missed your post last night. I think I was typing mine when you posted. Parents are opting their children out of the tests on parts of Long Island. It is interesting. Of course, no one is opting out in my district. I think parents of special education parents should opt their kids out, especially if their modifications will not be met on the test. I have a boy in my inclusion class that has it in his IEP that he does not have to write out his answers if he chooses not to, and that everything on a test must be read to him. Still, he is taking the ELA, WITHOUT thoses mods. . . ugh!

Belinda- nice workouts! I;'ve been watching HGTV since I started thinking about getting out of this house in January. I am addicted to Love it or List it and Property Brothers.

BBL

Morning ladies,

Yesterday I did TJ sculptor and 20 min abs. Today is TJ cardio party. Had it all backwards in my last post. The weather is getting nicer. I am spending a lot of time on my deck.

Kirstin - I love those shows, you are getting great decorating ideas.

I will try to check in later. Have a wonderful day.

Hey girls,

Yesterday was a four mile power walk, Wednesday was power hour ( light weights) and today was total body sculpting.

My back isn't better yet...while doing the core work I felt a small pain in the area that I pulled last week. CRAP! CRAP, CRAP, CRAAAAAAPOLA!!

sigh

so off to work I go...hi ho hi ho :p

will catch up with you guys tomorrow. Going to yard sales tomorrow, hopefully I can find some good stuff:D

'Morning!
Sorry for being mia the past few days, I just couldn't keep up with things. That huge report is gone and state review is over! Now on to testing and other stressors...
Belinda, glad you're enjoying TJ so much. How would you describe the difference between TJ and TK? 80s?!!! So not fair.
Kristin, are you moving in today? So many things going on for you, but this part is very exciting. I've actually made it a note as a goal this week to watch one of those shows.
Amelia, oh no, the same spot too? Just an idea, but my lower back used to bother me a lot, and after doing ab or lower back work, I started inserting yoga stretching and it helped. Of course, remembering to pull in my abs while doing the exercises would have helped me more. Let us know what you find today - hoping for treasures for you.
Lori, guess you're busy with your family, parents and dog. Enjoy!
Deb, did you go to FL to see your dad? Been thinking about you and your son. It is so hard to see them suffer.
Hardly got in any workouts this week so will have to figure out what to do today. Know I need both wts and cardio, and clean max. Big bike race here today, but don't think I can't count watching it as cardio.
Cookie

Hello all. Well, TOTM came Thursday, which explains my feeling lousy and tired. I ended up taking a rest day on Thursday. Then Friday I did SC. Today was a big day. We had opening day for our baseball league. We were in the parade. Then DS #1 had his first tee ball game and then DS #2 had his game. Got home, did my workout, which was All Out, double floor cardio plus core #1. Now I am jumping in the shower to go to a friend's house for some drinks.

So, we had someone look at the house to rent it, but he wasn't interested. My realtor is saying we can close in about two weeks if we want to. I would like to keep the closing to May unless we get a renter to come in here in May. I am upset about something about the house too. When we first looked at the house, everything was redone on the inside and it is beautiful. The backyard was a different story though. There had been a rundown inground pool that the owner had filled. Well the yard was all dirt. The realtor told us that the seller was going to grade and seed the yard. When we had the inspection and created the punch list, we forgot to include grading and seeding the yard. We signed the contract, the seller signed the contract. Now my realtor isn't sure that he is going to grade and seed the yard. Our lawyer called his lawyer on Thursday, but we haven't heard anything yet. I feel so stupid that we overlooked this. It is a big yard and it will be expensive to grade and seed it. I am pissed about it. If he doesn't agree to do it, we will have to suck it up because we signed the contract. I am going to have DH call his realtor Monday if the lawyers don't figure this out. She was the one who said he was going to grade and seed it.

Anyway. . . we both feel stupid that we didn't see this. We were so excited and so concerned that he had a permit for filling in the pool, that we just didn't think of it.

Cookie- I am sooooo tired of the letters ELA. I watched that video that NYSED put out about the common core and testing. I love how they state they expect the test scores to drop. What will that mean for my evaluation? I don't trust that it won't negatively impact my score, which is unfair in my opinion. We were given no materials this year. . . nothing. . . about the common core. Everything I did, I did it on my own. I bought my own books about the common core. I was constantly on engageny.org. I created all new units and lessons. Still, I feel that I am screwed with this stupid test.

Amelia- take it easy with your back!

Deb- hope you are enjoying Florida.

Belinda- I love this channel now. It is all I have been watching and it is true, it is giving me lots of ideas!

Waving hello to Lori!

Kristin

'Morning!
Belinda, hope life is okay. You've been quiet lately.
Amelia, do you have the Braves scheduled printed out already?
Lori, where have you run off to?
Kristin, we're all screwed. We're the only state that is using the CC for testing this year and the rigor of the test is aligned to the outcomes of PARCC. While I agree we need more rigor and consistency across the state, they should have have thought it out and provided resources and support to the teachers. And then to use it as evaluation when they didn't provide?!! I just don't get it. It's so hard to explain to anyone who is not in the profession tho. Parents are certainly getting upset with how it is going to affect their children. The ramifications are much larger than that though.
Deb, hope everything is okay. Concerned about you.
Yesterday decided to do DM again. Got so far off the April rotation this past week, decided to redo parts of it. Used to dread DM, and now suddenly I'm enjoying it. Of course, had to modify it a lot. All that high impact really does bother my foot, but I love the endorphin rush. Wish when life gets so busy, I could remember a workout really does help to clear up my stress clouds. Doesn't take away the issues, but helps with dealing with it.

Forgot to add in what I have planned for today: the puppy discovered we have a pond on the property, which for some reason my dh thought would never occur. We're going to the hardware store to buy new wiring to install for the invisible fence system. Back in Dec the company told us we needed a new monitor or something after 20+ years. Apparently, there is a break in the wiring somewhere, and since we can't find it, we're installing new wiring. We had 3.75 acres enclosed, but I'm thinking less now due to the expense and having to install it. Plus now we have to train her on the system. But oh is she a happy dog right now jumping in and out of that pond. Wouldn't mind if she didn't want to keep coming in the house to share her excitement.

Morning ladies,

Sorry I am so quiet lately, it's not easy to write on a kindle with on hand. I been working in the garage all week. I have to go through 2 more boxes, than I am done. I been avoiding the garage. Yesterday we worked in the yard.

Cookie - sounds like your puppy having fun. Good job on DM. Love it.

Kirsten - wasn't that a verbal contract? Hope your lawyer will call you soon.

Have a great Sunday. Bbl

Good Morning!:D

My parents are off to find a church and the baby is down for a nap. I thought it was a perfect time to catch up. I thought there were going to be more post to read.

So everyone arrived safe and sound. The kids were really excited. DS couldn't sleep the night before and it wasn't hard to get DD out of bed either. DS didn't know anything about the dog coming so he was quit excited when he saw him. We did a little shopping (only one trip to lulu:() and we headed back on Saturday afternoon. I don't think my parents are bored yet. My mom can keep busy with baking, cleaning and laundry but my dad hasn't had much to do. They will probably be ready to go when the time comes.

Work this week was a little crazy. It was the end of the month and a lot of stuff had to be done. It's a job where I will never have all of my work done. I should make a list tomorrow morning and try to get all the little things cleaned up but it's hard when people ask me to do other things. In the meantime I have been getting my workouts in. I cant remember what they've been now but I've been doing them.

So I had some awesome news yesterday! We got an offer on our house! The girl who is renting it text me earlier this week and said that she was going to start looking for a new place b/c she was afraid it was going to sell. And I'm thinking "great, now we will be left with a mortgage and rent payment". I had even thought about talking to DH about getting her to sign another contract. Friday morning the agent calls me and says she needs to show the place and it was a very good client. The people who want to buy it live close to where we are now, but are moving back. Their son and daughter were going to look at it for them. She told me that they almost bought the house by just the pictures alone! The viewing went well (I was a little nervous that the kids were gonna be super picky or something) and she called yesterday with a offer! We had listed the house for 335 and she offered 320 but we agreed on 325! So it's sold!!! Closing date is the middle of the month. Now we can start looking but to be honest, I'm not ready to move again yet! Just to much work. That will be the 3rd time in 4 months! DH's building is also sold so now we have to wait and see how that all works out. May owe money, we may not....time will tell!

Belinda** your going to have a nice long visit at home! When you have to travel so far and pay so much, you need to make it worth your while, just like my parents. It take a week just to get use to the time change.

Cookie** i don't know what's up with dogs wanting to come inside to shake their wet fur! Bet your dog is having fun though. Did you get a new puppy!? I want a dwarf bunny but dh won't let me! Lol. He says he's allergic. she is the sweetest thing I've ever seen!

Ameila** woo hoo on the 3 lbs. Its hard to stay away from the scale most times. I get in every other morning just to make sure and it's been up a little but my life has changed a lot. I'm not home chasing kids around now, I'm sitting to a desk and only getting up to go to the printer!

Deb** are you back from fl yet? Friends of ours are there now...I'm so jealous. This cold is getting to me. It's warming up some but not a huge amount by no means! I'm happy to hear your son is dog well. That must be a big relief. It doesn't matter how old they are!

Kristin** you've got a lot going on!! It's a little nuts but when it all settles it will be worth it. I can see why you would be concerned about the lawn! It is expensive and it would be nice to come out clean! I'm looking for a home that need nothing done (only painting) ...doesn't have to be brand new either.

Alright...I guess I've caught up. I hope I didn't miss anyone!!

Today I am going for a run with a friend, and yesterday I did xtrain burnsets ex tris and a 10 k run. Hopefully I will get the tris and abs done today!

Lori:)
