Good Morning!

So I think I may have to go see a doctor about my knee:-( I think I mentioned how I injured it about a month ago during a crazy step class at my gym (i think i twisted it or something). Right after this happened...I took it easy for about a week and a half before I started doing cardio again. It wasn't hurting badly or anything...just seemed tender. Well a few more weeks went by and I thought it was fully healed...until last Monday when I did P90x's legs and back workout. During one of the lunge sequences I felt some slight pain again. It ached a little that night, but the rest of the week it seemed okay. Even when I ran outside last week it seemed fine. Then comes Saturday night. We were out with some friends at a restaurant and at one point I went to get up from my chair by scooting the chair away from the table and suddenly I felt the SHARPEST, WORST pain in my knee! It hurt so bad, I thought I was going to break out into tears right at the table. I quickly sat back down and let the knee rest a few minutes. The pain went away and I was able to make it through the rest of the night. Yesterday was my rest day...so there was no workout, but last night I had to run to the grocery for a second and as I was speed walking down one aisle...I noticed some light pain again. Nothing like Saturday night...but something is definitely not right with it. So now I'm completely freaked out about the whole thing and am thinking I should go see a doctor. While I've been running and working out for years...I've never had an injury before and have always taken great measures to protect my knees because I enjoy being active so much. I guess I'm going to call my general doctor this morning and see if they want me to come in or if they will refer me to an orthopedic doctor. Since my knee hasn't been right for over a month now...I'm afraid to let it go any longer. This is my recovery week from the first p90x rotation so I was planning on doing a lot of cardio this week...but i'm going to try to really give my knee a break (which is so hard to do since I'm used to doing cardio nearly every day). I also have a 10K coming up in a month or so so I'm already worrying about not being able to run in it. I could be making this into something bigger than it is...but I've just had so many people that I work with tell me horror stories of how they used to run all the time and then hurt their knees and can't do it anymore. If that happened to me, I would be so heartbroken ;( I've tried to google knee injuries, but there are so many different types that I don't even know where to begin in trying to self diagnose. Anywho...thanks for listening girls...I just needed to vent. This whole thing has got me really stressed. I really hope it's nothing serious.

I think I may try to do core synergix later today and just skip any exercises that would incorporate anything that would aggravate my knee. Or it might be time to pull out some old pilates dvd's. It really is hard for me to "do nothing" active. I'm so used to working out nearly every day.

Sara-Sorry about your knee,i know it can be a pain in the patootie when your injured and can't do the workout that you want to do. I too would go to the doctor,you knee is giving you 'warnings' about something everytime you feel a pain!! My knee hurts about three times a month during step or lowerbody! My doc said it was becase i had a bad knee and for me to strengthen the muscles on that leg and it would give the knee more support....hasn't worked yet?LOL;-)Let us know what your doc says.

Hey to the rest of the gang! I got a 30min powerwalk in yesterday. Todays workout is LB,not sure which one yet,Abbs on the bench(following some of Tosca Renos abb workouts that I saw her do on the montell williams show) and then a 30min powerwalk on the TM. Im trying to be kind to my ankle right now,its still soar or I would do imax2 or some jogging.

I finally caught up some well needed rest last night:) 10 o'clock I couldn't even keep my eyes open! So I fell asleep at 10 and up at 8. I needed it though b/c I have to work tonight. Im not sure what DS and I will do all day. It seems a little weird that DD isn't going to be here for lunch and stuff (she is at my parents house).

Belinda** Good job with your workout! How many weeks of BFL do you have left to go?

Sara** I have had bad knees off and on. Normally b/c I have over done it in a particular exercise. I would go get it checked out if I were you. I haven't experienced anything like that though...no sharp pains. The worst I have ever felt is soreness after I have been sitting for to long. Knock on wood...I haven't had any problems in a while:) Hope you figure out whats wrong with it!

I think I am planning a long run today. I have to see what my rotation calls for. BBL!

Hi, everyone! Cardio for me this morning and probably LB tonight, since MM hit UB and abs much more than lower body for me yesterday a.m.

Sara, my gosh, what a bad problem!! I do hope you make it to the doctor. Maybe a session or two with a physical therapist to get some perspective and see what you can do to strengthen it up? I will watch to see your progress report.

Belinda, congrats on PLB.

Amelia, nice power walk choice yesterday - and I look forward to seeing what you choose for today.

Lori, glad you got some sleep! Long run sounds fun.

Hey girls,im done with my workout! I did abbs,then BFL style lowerbody and im so proud of myself...i did 70lbs squats for the first time in my life! I think i could of gone heavier too}( my DH had to spot me! anyhoot,i also went up on lounges,plea's,leg press and calvs . After the LB workout I jumped on the TM and did a 30 min interval incline that started @3.5speed with a 1% incline then ended at a 4.2speed with a 10% incline:eek:...I didn't know i could do that? LOL

Belinda, Amelia, I just ran on the treadmill this morning. Maybe Firm It Up tonight. We'll see.
