Commit to get fit and lean for July!

Good Morning Gals:)

Sorry I was MIA yesterday. If I don't make the time to check in in the a.m then it just doesn't happen. Yesterday DS had soccer again at 11, then another appt at 1:30 and before I knew it the day was pretty much over.

I did a small workout yesterday morning before soccer and while I was working out I was thinking that I could go for a run in the evening b/c DS was going to the circus with my sil....so I text my running partner and that's what we did. So I did 30 mins in the morning, plus abs and after dinner I did almost another 40 mins pushing the stroller.

I decided to go to my parents house for the weekend. I am a little on easy about leaving DD home b/c she has to work and can't go. She will be sleeping at my in laws but she can still hang out here when she isn't working. I will just have to set some ground rules and tell the neighbors to keep their eyes peeled:eek:. So I have one bag packed, two more to go, need to get my workout in and DS has another appt at 1...it's his last appt with the speech therapist before he starts school in sept:eek:

Belinda** hope you are enjoying your holiday!

Deb** I like that they don't have a set schedule for soccer actually. He's already saying he doesn't want to go when the game is at 11 but in the evenings he doesn't say anything. Probably b/c there isn't anything else for him to do. It's been hot though and the kids don't seem to have a whole lot of energy.

Cookie** my two nieces come here in the day time...so 4 kids. But they are no work really. It's only to feed them. One is at the age where she would rather watch tv then play. My own are way more work then the two of them. I'm only taking the baby when I go visit DH b/c I'm nursing and I'm sure I will still be nursing in 4 weeks time...although if he keeps biting me with those two new teeth...his breast feeding days may be numbered!

Kristin** someone had fireworks at the park the other night for Canada day and I didn't bother staying for that and that started at 9...lol. But I'm sure it wasn't a massive display. I'm excited about going and visiting DH. It's going to be a nice little get away even though traveling isnt one of the things I LOVE to do..ESP when it's that far for only four days.

I probably won't be back until tomorrow. I'm planning on doing a circuit workout with running and legs. I will be running when I'm at my parents. I don't have access to anything else out there. My sister did have some weights there but I don't know what happened to them.

Have a good day!
Lori

Hapy Friday! Took the boys to the library to sign them up for the summer reading program. My older DS only wanted Star Wars books, but I convinced him to get a Curious George book based on the fact that it had "baseball" in the title. When we got home, my younger DS took a nap and I did LICH. Love that workout. Now we are getting ready for DS's first summer baseball game. Should be fun. My DH has kept the same kids on the team, so we are like one big family at this point. I've missed it.

Anyway. . . I was brave enough to get onthe scale and happy to report that after all my bad eating I only gained a pound and a half, lol. Very happy about that.

Lori- I don't hate traveling per se, but I hate flying. I dread going on a plane, but this time around it wasn't soooo bad (hey, at least I didn't cry during take-off, lol). I don't envy you having a teenager, and I don't care what anyone says I think teenage girls are harder than boys. They just know how to give the attitude I think. . . it's a female thing. A boy can give me an attitude in my class and it rolls right off my back. .. a girl's attitude can ruin my whole day, it's crazy.

Deb- hope you got a good rest.

Cookie- while on vacation I read the Jaycee Dugard memoir. It was sickening and fascinating all at the same time. Now I am reading a classic, To Kill a Mockingbird. I "read" it in the 9th grade, but not really. I am almost done with it and love it. What have you been reading lately? Anything good?

Kristin

Hi,

I've been home all day attempting to clean the house & declutter even spent sometime outside watering my flowers & neighbors & cleaning deck furniture. I should have done my w/o 1st:confused: having an iced coffee for energy & will do B&G.

Belinda - I bet it's cooler in Florida:cool: crazy heat wave here this weekend.

Lori - Have fun at your Mom's. You'll have to skype with DD & check what's going on in the background:eek: When you visit DH will it be a part of Canada you've never been to?

Kristin - I just finished ordering "Hunger Games" for DS's. When we were in FL some girl at the pool was reading parts to her DH (alittle annoying since I was trying to read;)) & it didn't seem like a book I would like. DS just turned 21 so he's a man but just still a boy LOL. The one thing that sticks in my mind when DS's played summer baseball was mosquitos:eek: I've been meaning to reread "To kill a Mockingbird" still have a copy from DS's HS days.

Cookie - My SIL dog was so cute. We are waiting to get a dog because DH wants to travel & move to FL so he doesn't want to commit to a dog until we're settled (I get that) but I'll be old & grey by that time:) I'm happy to hear your dog's surgery went well.

'Evening!
Big news, I'm so excited - we have tv! Yeah, I know you all do and have had it for decades. Unfortunately, they put a pole in the middle of our field and the satellite sits atop it. My poor dh just felt he had to give in to that so we could get service. Now it joins the ugly one we have for internet service. Around here we call them Vermont state flowers, there are so many of them and all point towards Vermont.
Belinda, hope you're staying cool. Did you drive?
Kristin, I just started Pillars of the Earth and it's good. It's by Ken Follett, a fat historical novel that's been out for over ten years. I'm flying to Maryland next week for a conference and am debating getting it on my ipad if it is as good as it has started out. Read The Chaperone last week, a new novel about Louise Brooks in 1930-40 NYC that was really good. To Kill a Mockingbird is one of the best books I've ever read. Just love it. Did you ever read A Tree Grows in Brooklyn? It ties in nice with a visit to the Tenement Museum on the Lower East Side. Another great novel.
Deb, move to Florida?!! We have their weather now. We think about moving but it is more to get away from the kids! Had lunch with a friend whose dog died last week, she still quite upset.
Today was turbobarre ub. Tomorrow will be a rest day - going to NYC to see an exhibit on the terracotta warriors. Dr called me today re thyroid, and finally going to try medication. Only every other day but hopefully it will quickstart something.

Hi,

I did B&G tonight. We're watching our neighbors bird & almost smoked him out with the dinner I cooked:eek: I was rushing, trying a new receipe (Salmon cakes) & things were not going well in the kitchen. DH was teasing me he was lying on the bottom of the cage.

Cookie - It will be hard to read with TV now. It sounds good that they will start you on meds every other day. I bet you'll feel less tired soon.

Goodnight:)

Good Morning:)

I feel more rested then most mornings. I woke up at 7 with both kids and my mom sent me back to bed.....I soooo need the extra sleep! My brother as been keeping DS busy...love it!! And my mom is walking around with the baby and I am enjoying my coffee:)

My mom is going to work at 12 so I need to get my run in before that. I am not sure how long I will go for.

Cookie** LOL....what will you watch on that tv of yours??? We have to many tvs actually and some are never even turned on!

Kristin** Im not a lover of flying either but they say its safer then driving! I just don't like being crammed into a seat...esp with a baby in my arms.

Deb** Good job on getting your workout in. I have never been to Regina before. Im not sure if there will be much to see....hopefully the shopping is good!

I will bbl after my run!

Lori:)

Hi,

I'm about to do a premix from To the Max alittle nervous attempting this workout. After will jump in the shower & go grab a bite to eat w/DH. So DS's "friend" has been here all weekend . . . looks like it's getting serious to me.

Lori - You might have to visit your Mom more often! I hope you were able to get your run in.

Waves hi to everyone!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend:)

Good Morning:)

Had a tough run yesterday. I didn't a route I normally do but I reversed it...little did I know that there were more hills by doing it this way:p I was pooped by the time I got home. I am going for another run soon. Hoping to do around 8k or so and maybe I will get a FB workout in this evening when I get home.

Deb** How was the workout? I am hoping to get mine sometime this week. Can't wait to try them! I still have a bunch of Bob Harper workouts I haven't even opened:eek:

BBL!
Lori:)

Morning everyone. Sorry I was MIA yesterday. I had to clean up and then I squeezed in SLide and Glide before taking a shower and then having a bbq with some friends. I rushed around like a lunatic all morning/early afternoon, but then had a fun and relaxing evening, so it was worth it. Today I have Cardio and Weights on tap, and then chilling out by the pool.

So. . . did you guys see Cahte is working on a new series already!!! I think it is posted in Ask Cathe or the New Workouts forum. She says it will be a mix of STS with Crosstrain and it will be called XTrain. Now that is something I am interested in, lol.

Lori- It's great that your mom helps you out like that. Doesn't it feel like a gift when you can sleep after 7 a.m.?

Deb- your story about "smoking out" your neighbors bird cracked me up. How do you like the new workouts? Still not sure if I want to get them.

Belinda- How is Florida?

Cookie- I did read A Tree. . . and it is funny you mention it because the old movie was on one of the HBO channels early in the morning and I stayed in bed just to watch it, lol. How was NYC?

Okay, I will bbl.

'Morning!
Belinda, hope you're enjoying Florida.
Kristin, your yesterday sounds like mine today. I'm running around the house together so we can go visit friends this evening. Only I think we're all going out for pizza and drinks, which is not good for me. I feel unrequited love from dairy products. I've never seen the movie, but now w/tv I might! Just read Pillars of the Earth - a historical novel - great read. Think you would really enjoy the new dvds.
Lori, glad you have so much help at your mom's! But how many workouts are you planning on getting in in one day? How long a flight is it to Regina?
Deb, lol at your dh and the bird. One of my son's seems to think if it's smoking its cooking, and if it is black the food is done. So, how do you like ds's new friend? Really like eldest ds's, at times more than him, but then he's the one who drives us crazy.
Enjoyed day in NYC yesterday and the visit with youngest son. Did crossfire this morning and feeling the endorfin rush. Got a million things to do - clean, garden, groceries, laundry, vacuum, read papers, drink coffee, think I'll start with the end of my list first. Meeting with friends this evening, which is what I'm looking forward to. Oh, and then see what's on tv!
Cookie

Hi,

I did PUB chest & back wanted to go back & finish the rest of upper body but decided to take a nap so tomorrow it will be. I have a lot of time off this month and most of my work needs to be done at the end of the month. I wouldn't mind but the RT is at the end of the month too!

I'll have to check out the new w/o's 10 wow!

Belinda - How is Florida?

Lori - The new w/o's are really tough someone who reviewed them said they were like Insanity but don't have that set. I'm sure you were cursing everytime you came upon a hill yesterday LOL.

Kristin - I'm going to try & do Crossfire tomorrow so will let you know. I really like the music just had a hard time modifying to low impact need to try again. Do you prefer working out in the morning now that your home for the summer?

Cookie - DS almost went to NY yesterday but we talked him out of it because he thought he could get parking on the street by Central Park:confused: I like DS's friend she's cute & outgoing. You were really busy this weekend . . . love the way you were starting the end of your list 1st . . . sounds good to me!

Goodnight:)

Good Morning:)

How is everyone? I'm up to early.....just another reason I should have stayed with my parents for one more night....I would be sleeping right now while my mom watched the baby...ahhhhhhh. Def gonna need two cups of java to kick start this day. Thank goodness it's just me and the boys today. I don't have the girls today. The baby slept through the night again, that's the 2nd night in a row. Hopefully it's a sign of things to come.

Kristin** it is nice when I don't have to get up before 7! Today he woke at 6:58 and I was thinking " just two more minutes" lol....as if that was gonna make a big difference.

Cookie** I wanted to get a weight workout in last night. It I quickly realized that this wasn't gonna happen. There is a certain point in the day where the baby doesn't want to be put down and it makes it difficult to do things. My arm was so tired from carrying him around yesterday. I should be cleaning the floors while he is happy sitting in his exersaucer.

Deb** lol....I don't know if I cursed the hills but I think I did giggle with disbelief that there was another one...longer then the last one:eek:. I did a race two years in a row that was super tough and had hills galore and Im wondering how I did it...and I placed 3rd in my age group both years. But I also have to remember that I only had a baby 5 months ago! I'm probably running further and longer then I should be. I wish I had kept a journal after I had DS so I could compare.

I will bbl. I also need to do house work!

Lori:)

Good morning,

Sorry for not checking in the last few days. Having a blast in Florida!

Saturday I did iTread Set 2 60 min on the TM. Today I did CCV1 on the TM. The hotel got a nice gym with a weight room( lots of weights) and a nice cardio room (TM, ellipticals, bike).

Off to the shower, will try to catch up tonight. Have a great day and workout.

Hey everyone. Just finished Cardio and Weights. My inner thighs are still sore form Slide and Glide, but once I got through the first weight segment with those plie squats I was okay.

Did anyone else get excited over Cathe's announcement in the weekly newsletter? That series sounds like it will be awesome. I love the LIS and am really interested in this one now. I was thinking of starting STS in August or September. That might be a good way to build up to this new series. . . hmmm. . .

Belinda- glad you are having a blast. Have you gone to any parks?

Lori- Yea on the baby sleeping through the night. That is great. BTW- I always need two cups of coffee whether I wake up at 5 or 8 in the morning .

Deb- I really prefer working out in the afternoon or late morning when I am off. It works well on days when I have nothing planned, mostly the days DH works. My youngest DS still takes afternoon naps, so it fits in nicely too. I still don't have it in me to give a workout my everything in the morning, unless Cathe is in front of me.. . LIVE, lol. I hope you don't get too stressed right before the trip with work and everything. I regret not signing up this year.

Cookie- lol at your unrequited love with dairy products. I am a pizza lover. The hardest part of staying in Florida for 10 days, the only difficulty I had there was not having REAL pizza, lol.

Okay, I am off to the pool.

Kristin

Hi,

The new series sounds awesome!! I did Crossfire, really liked it & the time flew just needed to modify. I went back & did the step part of To the Max this one is a little tough for me because I don't do step too much but I need to work on it.

So tomorrow I have to do a big set-up for Back to School (sorry Kristin:eek:) hopefully my car will be ready because the merchandise didn't make it to the store & I have to go pick it up at our warehouse:rolleyes:

Lori - Placing 3rd is amazing. Any races planned? You may be able to do a search on the forums to see what you were doing after DS. Great news if the baby keeps sleeping through the night!

Belinda - Sounds like your having fun & getting your w/o's in:cool:

Kristin - LOL at having Cathe LIVE in the AM to w/o with . . . looks like she'll be really busy filming those 10 workouts to come to your house;) It's weird but I was on the RT thread & someone said she was in the 200's on the waiting list & just got in . . . does that mean over 100 people cancelled:confused: maybe I just read it wrong:eek:

Cookie - Did you not have TV for a long time? In our old house one of our neighbors didn't have TV & I ran into her several years later & asked her if she still didn't have TV but said since the kids were grown up & they wanted to watch news about 9/11 they did get a TV.

Goodnight:)

Good Morning

My Lord...was I ever contrary yesterday morning. I don't know what was wrong with me. And I was the same way Sunday night. Could have been a few reasons actually. I received the new workouts yesterday...which was fast considering where I live. I'm happy I didn't pay the $25 for faster shipping cause they couldn't of gotten here any quicker. Even getting the workouts didn't put me in a good mood lol. I did CF though and 20 mins on the TM. It was a good workout. I probably won't do TTM today b/c I want to do some weights.

I got a little tid bit of info last night about DD and this boy....apparently they have been seeing each other. I am going to pretend I don't know. I don't think he's that bad actually it's just that I don't need him introducing her to things. She's a smart girl though. And in sept he will be gone to school again...

Belinda** happy to hear you are having fun!

Krisitn** this is def a 2 cup kind of morning! I use to try not to drink 2 cups b/c I'm nursing but I can't help it. I am really tired this morning and for some reason DS keeps using a high pitched screaming voice...that's all I need to hear. I need to try slide and glide...maybe today!

Deb** no sleeping though the night last night:confused: My body doesn't know whats going on. It doesn't have time to adjust with nursing to figure out when he needs milk or not......ugh!

My mom just called....I am going to count how many times she calls today. It is ridiculous actually. Yesterday she called me 3 times between 9-10:45! A.M that is....and again in the evening. I dont know what she thinks might have happened between last night and 8 a.m....ugh....that ticks me off too. She will call when I, working out or putting the baby to sleep and if she doesn't reach me, she will call back again in 10 mins. I told her yesterday that she woke the baby up, even though it wasn't true. I just wanted to let her know that she doesn't need to call here 20 times a day! And I was to contrary yesterday to talk.....anyway.thats my vent!

Lori

Morning ladies,

Not sure, what workout I will do today?

Nora and Chris --- thanks for your rewiev on the new workouts! I am still on the fence about those workouts:( how are they different from AB and AT? Are the moves similar to AB or AT? I am sure, the workouts are fun...but I am tired doing the same exercises over and over again. Wow, Cathe is coming out with 10 new workouts:eek: How many workout dvds do I need:eek:

My husband ordered a elliptical a few weeks ago, can't wait!

Lori - yeah...you better keep on eye on DD:eek: Glad you got your new DVDs. Let me know, what your think about them? Your mom is concerned...I know it's frustrating...she means well;) Placing 3rd is amazing! Congrats!

Debbie - the new series does sound amazing! Since you done the new workouts, how are the different from Cathe's other DVD's? Are the similar to AT or AB? I heard, To the Max has a lot of moves similar to AT?

Kirstin - nice job on C&W yesterday. We went to Universal Studios and Islands of Eventure. That's all. Today we Vero Beach:eek: We are going to a resort. Relaxing time! My feet are killing me, with all that walking:eek:

Cookie - hope all is well! Glad you had fun in NY. Glad you had fun with CF.

Happy Hump Day, everyone!

Workout is done! Did Cycle Max on the elliptical:) need to get a weight workout in this week:p

I will be back tonight or tomorrow. Enjoy your day, everyone!

Hey everyone. Just finished legs and glutes. This was my first time doing this workout. My legs are fried, lol. Heading over to my parents and then later DS has a baseball game.

Last night I watched the movie The Big Year with Steve Martin and Jack Black. I really liked it. It is on HBO this month, an dI am recommending it, lol.

Belinda- enjoy the beach . We only did Disney, so next time we make our way down there I want to hit Sea World and Universal. Good job on keeping up with your workouts.

Lori- Slide and GLide is a great workout. A bit deceiving because it feels "easier" but it works you good. I really enjoy it. Works the legs good too, in a different, no weight kind of way.

Deb- back to school already? No way. . . I don't go by the stores timelines anymore. They have Christmas stuff out before Halloween is over. It's ridiculous, lol.

Cookie- whatcha up to?

Okay, I'll be back later.

Kristin

Hi,

So the bear did show up in our neighborhood tonight. My neighbor was walking her dog & was by the house next to ours & a bear started following her & then running after her scary stuff. What is with these animals, wondering if they are hungry??

I did PUB shoulders, tri's & bi's. I needed to borrow my SIL car for work today & she has sirius radio wow I really like it!

Lori - I can't imagaine doing the TM after doing Crossfire;) It sounds like DD may just be having a summer romance. It would drive me crazy if the phone was ringing when I was working out.

Belinda - Sounds like your having a lot of fun. I think the w/o's are similar to AT & AB but more high impact (such as plyo moves & tabata).

Kristin - Legs & glutes is a good one! I'll have to add that movie to me que.

Cookie - Hi

Goodnight:)
