Commit to get fit and lean for Aug 30, 2009

Good Morning Everyone!

We had a pretty relaxing night last night, didn't do much at all. It was nice for a change. Today will probably be a little crazier b/c my MIL was hosting dinner for a big crowd but now its raining and she doesn't have the room to have everyone in her home....so gets who she asked to do it? I didn't sign up to have 19 people under my feet today! As much as one might say I have nothing to do, I certainly have to make sure my house is clean! Ok...I will stop being a *itch now!

Again...today was suppose to be my long run but its raining right now. I am hoping its going to stop.

Belinda** Enjoy your rest day!!

Trish** My race isn't until Oct 18th. I have a little while yet.

I will bbl!
Lori:)

Morning.
Instead of Kenpo yesterday DH and I took the kids hiking for about 6miles...i wish i would had worn my HRM. It took us over three hours...very fun and lots of climbing. We saw two snakes....
Today is rest/stretch. My glutes and hamstrings are so tight and sore today.

Lori-I wouldn't be a happy camper either if my MIL asked me to have the party at my house:mad:

Belinda-enjoy your rest day

have a good day to everyone! Im going over to my moms today to hang out AND im packing my lunch and snacks:D.

Did you guys read friday nights post? I finally got a pull up bar and digital scale, yay. Now im obsessed about weighing my food, lol. Using the pull up bar tomorrow...

Good Morning Ladies

Today I will do a run and yoga.... I'm still considering Daytona...lol..grrr I wish I would just make up my mind. I know there will be some sacrifice involved, and sometimes I'm just not that great with big commitments, and then there's the pessimist part of me that thinks that something will happen and I won't be able to go. I hate my thought process

Amelia- I love love love hummus. With pretzels or Carrots or celery. My stomach can't handle a lot of it at a time, though, especially w/ carrots. I also saw on this forum about cottage cheese with some sugar free jelly...let me tell ya it's good!! I wouldn't go near cottage cheese before but now I have such a taste for it and sometimes eat it without the jelly.

Trish- I hope you enjoyed your day yesterday!!

Lori- I'm sorry about the sudden commitment you have to host your get together...that would put me straight to being "pissy"...lol

Belinda- Have a great rest day!!

Going to go shopping with Mom this afternoon probably :) We might hit the outlets in Mass....we've been talking about it for a few weeks now. And cookie or helene, you might know, but arent' there outlets down by the city too?? I just can't remember....

Ok BBL

Hey all,

Sorry to be a bit MIA, but I am sick at the moment. My throat is on fire and I can't swallow anything. I had body aches all over. Guess my DH finally passed on what he had . I managed to do disc9 legs yesterday but I won't do anything today, I don't even think yoga. This is just in time for me to enjoy having a little bit of quiet at home. Wouldn't you know it, this is the time I get sick: when things slow down.

Belinda: Enjoy your rest day. It sounds like week 1 of Meso 2 was a good one.

Lori: Enjoy your party  I hope that maybe you can ask her to watch the kids as payback so you can go running a few times. That would be a nice trade off for you before the weather becomes yucky outside. Oh, and I found out, the 45 degree lunges are supposed to work your inner thighs.

Amelia: I am a big fan of weighing my food. I think it is because I am still not good trying to estimate the size of what I eat  But it gives me power over my food to measure and weigh. Let us know how the pull up bar works. And yeah, cottage cheese with sugar free jello is awesome! I use the no salt added cottage cheese though. And nice hike yesterday but .......what kind os snakes?! yikes.

Iris: I've only been to the outlets a couple of time. There is one south about two hours I think which is the bigger one at the end of the pay by ticket part of 87. The other one is just across the border in MA on the 90. I never really find anything there. Maybe it's just me but I never felt it was that much of a bargain.

Cookie: How have you been sleeping? :D

Trish: Hope you had a nice "rest" day.

Have a great day everyone!

Helene

Hello again....

Finished Week 3 Day 3 of the Couch to 5k...I'm starting to get antsy now...lol But I know I have to be so careful with these knees  And then did Barbara Benagh Yoga: Mood Uplift...I got two of her DVD's off of Amazon and I really like them!

Helene- Maybe I haven't looked hard enough, but I didn't know that there was no sodium cottage cheese...I just get Breakstone's Lowfat or WalMart's Fat Free... Where do you find it?

Ok all bbl ;)

Hey Ladies~!

The weather isn't getting any better here.... so I am guessing I will have to hit the TM soon and then disc 29 after that. Should make for a pretty good workout.

The dinner as been cancelled b/c of the weather. They were dip frying turkeys and that as to be done outside and its not fit out...so it is put off until tomorrow and it will be back at their house again:D

Ameila** I bet you burned a few cals yesterday. I haven't been hiking in a while. Did the kids complain that they were tired?

Helene** Sorry to hear you are sick!!! I know cold season is just around the corner and now there is all the chit chat about H1N1. I think we are going to get the H1N1 shot. DS was in the hospital earlier this yr for a whole week and it took yrs off of my life...we are hoping to avoid that at all cost this yr!!! Well...I guess i am going to start liking those lunges cause inner thighs are usually a womens problem area!!!

Iris** Ahhhh...go ahead and book the trip! If you do that then you can't make out and if you have the means to do it, then I say DO IT! You only live once!!!!

I should get moving I suppose. I have kept busy all morning. DH hasn't mentioned going anywhere today, partly b/c I chewed him up and spit him out yesterday. Seriously...if I have to hear one more thing about fishing...i am going to lose my mind. Actually, I already did. I understand that he likes it but everyday he goes and if he doesn't then he talks about going. Yesterday he was all ticked off b/c I had to go to work and he wanted to go fishing...he knew I had to work, why did he think he could go fishing? I told him to take his rod and move until salmon fishing was over with cause he was driving me crazy!!! He said his fishing was like my running, but my running doesn't interfer with his life.

Anyway......

Lori:)

Hello again,

Iris: I get the one from Crowley and I usually find it at Price Chopper (I know WMart doesn't carry it). It is the "no-salt added" so it does have a little bit but not like the other kinds which are way too salty for me. I don't care for the taste. It has 1% milk fat though it is not fat-free. Enjoy your afternoon shopping if you go. And yes, GO TO DAYTONA, then we can all get your first hand account

Lori:  Yeah, you are off the hook for the party. Pretty soon the weather will turn and you won't have to hear about the fishing. At least I hope so. Sorry to hear your DS was in the hospital. I couldn't imagine! I'm frazzled enough as it is without adding this kind of worry. I hope the vaccines for H1N1 are effective and timely.

We're off to the waterpark for one last time this summer. They close at labor day and we don't go that particular weekend because it's too crowded. Besides, next weekend we're going to see Cirque du Soleil. I am so excited!!!!

Helene

Hey Gals!

Done with my workout. I think those CC workouts will have me ready for my race! Ugh...hill after hill after hill. I couldn't find dCC #6 so I did 3 & 4. Took me 61 mins and 7 miles. I also did disc 29 after that..oh and PH abs.

Helene** Have a good day at the waterpark. I could probably have my own water park in the backyard with all of the rain we had.!

BBL!
Lori:)

Good afternoon girls,

I really liked STS squat rack legs. I didn't use a squat rack but put a weighted vest on. I already have DOMS. Hope to get a run in later:)

Belinda - Enjoy your rest day . . . anymore parties?

Amelia - Great job on your hike yesterday . . . you'll probably have DOMS for days! I've thought about getting a digital scale just never did, you'll have to let me know if it's worth it.

Iris - Go to Daytona, we want to hear all about it:) Have fun outlet shopping:)

Helene - Sending healing vibes your way . . . I hope it's not the swine flu:(

Lori - This is one time the bad weather paid off . . . now you can have a quiet house:D Does DH catch a lot of fish? He must be very patient.

Trish - The dessert you had sounds so good too! Wow, 2.6lbs is great for one week.

Cookie - If the shower is today . . . have fun:)

Enjoy the rest of the weekend:)

Evening girls,

Today's wo was CCV7 with 15 mins of iClimb #8 added on. I went for 69 mins and completed 10.0 miles (new record for me!). I couldn't find my watch for my HRM but am estimating upper 600's on the cal burn. I figured out that dinner last night cost me about 1700 cals!!! Thankfully, I slept in and missed breakfast and my first snack which helped balance out dinner. So with the cals I reserved for dinner and cals burned doing STS yesterday, I ended up about 700 cals in the whole. I plan to do YogaFIT Pure Power (or maybe just the Total Core segment) tonight which should take care of that last little bit.....uuugghhh, too much math! Next time I think will just put down the fork:eek:

Belinda - Hope you had a great rest day today...you desrve it;)

Lori - YAY! Glad you got out of having that party. I would need to clean for hours if anyone pulled that on me! Nice wo today girl! The energizer bunny was in full effect!

Amelia - Wow, sounds like a great hike! How did your little ones do on the hike? We were planning to take our girls on a 1-1/2 to 2 hour hike but I wondered if we would end up carrying the 2YO most of the way:confused: Curious to know whether your estimates match the scale once you start using it. Have fun with your new bar:)

Iris - Have fun shopping with your mom. Are you doing the Couch to 5K on a treadmill? When my knees are acting up I usually ice them after each wo for about 15 mins. Usually helps a lot. Be careful with them.

Helene - Sorry to hear you are under the weather:( Hope you're up and about soon. What brand is the cottage cheese you buy? We don't have either of those grocery stores near us. I've heard about the lower sodium cc, but never tried it. I eat Breakstone's 2-3 times a week so a lower sodium option would be nice. Cirque de Soleil sounds awesome! Have thought about buying tix for years, but still haven't yet:rolleyes:. Can't wait to hear what you think of the show.

Deb - Ohhhhhh, I can't wait to try STS Squat Rack Legs! Only a couple of weeks to go:)

Cookie - Hope the shower is going well today.

Will check in before heading off to bed.

Last update,

Made it to the waterpark and it was fun. There is a great pirate show that the kids always enjoy and they get soaked! I sit a couple rows further back.....

Trish: The cottage cheese I get is from Crowley. I really like it, I add sugar-free jello and it's good.

Deb: Thanks for the good vibes, I take them. But hey if it's the swine flu I'll be done with it :p

Have a god evening everybody!

Helene

'Evening! I'm typing this on my DH's laptop since my computer doesn't want to receive the satellite's signal. I swear all this technology is male - constantly wanting attention! Urghhh. Anyway...
Belinda, hope you enjoyed your rest day. You certainly earned it.
Lori, glad the rain came in handy. Did you get a run in on the tm? Never got into fishing. Like eating them tho.
Amelia, are you weighing everything? When I got one that's what I did for a few days. Should pull it out again to see how inaccurate I've become. How did the DC like the hike?
Iris, go for Daytona. It's something look forward and work toward, plus how else will Cathe see how fabulous you are and pick you? There are outlets in Lake George, Lee, Massachusetts, and Woodbury Commons off 87. Let us know if you found any bargains.
Trish, your desserts sound fabulous. Did you and DD do yogafit? What did you think? I did Flex and Flow this morning and it worked me good. Would have been better if I hadn't done kettlebells first tho. Too much on my shoulders. My right one is constantly sore and the two wo were just too much.
Deb, I was telling some of my friends today about what a great time I had with you in NJ. Honestly, it was so easy to be with you.
Boy, you ladies are so good - today was the shower. Thanks so much for your well wishes, 'cause things went well. The bride-to-be and her mother were pleased, and my family and friends all can't believe how lucky my son is to have found her. Glad it's over and now I just have to do the rehearsal dinner on Friday, the wedding on Sat, and get everyone home again on Sunday. Oh, yeah, then there's work... And my dad is coming back to town again on Wednesday, and I'm supposed to take him and his wife out to dinner as an early birthday celebration. Guess last week's meals were just a glad to see you ones. I'm gonna need another job at this rate.
Did Amy Bento's kettlebell dynamics and then yogafit. Kettlebells seem to aggravate my sensitive right shoulder. Every time afterwards it just throbs. Anyone else have this happen? I love the wo, but now I need to take some Alleve. Any rotations planned for September yet? I waiting to see what Cathe comes up with but am open to ideas and suggestions.
Cookie, who is going to hop into her large comfy bed very soon

Hello all, this is my last check in for the night. Just finished YogaFit Power Pilates (core section of main program + core power). What an awesome wo. DD didn't participate, though she watched me:confused: Honestly, young people!!

Helene - Ah! I see, Crowley is the manufacturer;) Didn't pick up on that the first time. Just googled it up and will have to keep an eye out for it. I imagine Trader Joe's or Whole Foods may carry it. Thanks for the tip. Water parks are great aren't they? My little one's had such a great time at Sesame Place I wish we could go again.

Cookie - Glad things went off well with the shower. I'm sure you can't wait for it all to be over. Has to be costing a fortune. I am really loving this YogaFit dvd better than the first one (although, I will try it again). Hope to do the whole Pilates Fit wo later this week or next.

Headed to bed now to get up for D23 Legs in the AM.

G'Night.

Good evening,

Sorry, I haven’t checked in earlier. Had a nice relaxing day today. DH and I bought a Playstation 3 today.I don’t know if I told you guys but our DVD player in our living roon broke a few weeks ago. At first we wanted to buy a blue ray DVD player, but DS convinced us to get a Playstation 3 (which plays blue ray DVD’s), of course when DS comes to Germany he can play his games, lol! The cool thing about the PS3 is, you can download and rent the newsiest movies. I still have to learn how to use it, can’t be that hard, right! LOL!

Amelia, 3 hours hiking, that’s great. I am sure it was a nice cal. burn! How are your legs feeling? Hope you had fun with your mom today.

Iris, LOL, about Daytona! Congrats on completing W3 D3 of the couch to 5 K, keep up the good work. BTW, I love cottage cheese, yum!

Helene, sorry to hear you been sick! (((HUGS))) Hope you feeling better soon. Take it easy. Nice job on D9 yesterday. Glad you had fun at the waterpark.

Lori, glad the dinner got canceled, at least you got your workout in. Nice job! Our weather already is turning, it’s so cold in the morning. I am not looking forward to the cold.

Debbie, can’t wait to do the STS squat rack legs. Glad you like it!

Trish, nice job on the 2.6 pounds! ^^^5, on your workouts today.

Cookie, wtg on Amy Bento's kettlebell dynamics and then yogafit today. How is your shoulder? Make sure you stretch it good!

See you in the morning;)
