My grandmother is the same way, but it will depend on what your grandmother likes in terms of comfort. To hid narrow shoulders, you’d wear a boxier/larger shoulder shirt that tapers down for a smaller waist. Which will give the appearance of larger shoulders and a smaller waist. Or you can achieve that with color, a bright busy pattern up around the shoulders and it breaks into something slower or a basic color the closer it gets to the waist, will also give a bigger shoulder small waist look.
Or if she just wants something to fit, try either boy’s shirts or the Petite section. Boys’ shirts are smaller them women’s, and generally smaller in the shoulders as well. As the one reason why I can’t wear boy’s but my mother can, is the fact her shoulders are much more narrow then mine are. Also with boys it’s much easier to find a nice basic color and not some wild thing like over in the girls’ section.
Gap announced that they were going to try a line for the baby boomers, but I don’t know if they ever did or not, that was a couple of months ago.
The JC Penny catalog generally has stuff for everyone including older women, but the annoying part is it’s generally catalog only, so you don’t get to see it in the store.
