clothes shopping last nite was eye-opening

Sadly, all those mirrors showed parts of my body I rarely get to see. I noticed right away I am getting old woman arms in the back. I knew my butt was big and all that but the arm thing came as a HUGE wake up call. I've been sticking with low weight/high rep lately and I think this has been not a good thing for me. Starting Mon I intend to attack this weight loss/toning up problem. I'm tryin to think of a rotation to do. I'm tossing around various ideas like the "Lose 20-30 lbs" rotation Cathe did to help someone a few months back that incorporated Slow and Heavy and PS. I was also thinking of doing the Intensity series, maybe the Gym Styles. I don't know, so many to choose from! Any ideas on how to blast this fat off and tighten everything that's left?

Cebelle,

You are not alone having those bad clothes shopping experiences. I know sometimes when I go shopping, I'll start trying on clothes and nothing fits right, the lighting and mirrors in the dressing room are doing terrible things to my body!! I stop right there before I get in a really bad mood!;) And sometimes you go, and everything fits right, etc.... As far as how to go about your fitness regimen, more educated folks that I can answer that. Carole comes to mind. Maybe they'll pop in and give you some pointers. Good luck to you. We are all in the same battle it seems.;)

Hmmm, I lost weight on low weights and more reps, but I agree it isn't for everyone, but I also dropped my calories too like they do on the Swan and the Biggest Loser.

I truely believe no matter what anyone says, that you have to eat less calories than you burn to lose weight... so my calories are usually between 1200 and 1500....

Rhonda -
I'd starve to death on 1200-1500 calories!! How do you do it? I'd like to stay between 1600-1800, but right now I have to stay closer to 2,000. Ugh.

Shannon...

I started out kind of slow and worked my way down, my body got used to it. I decided that if I was serious about where I wanted my body to be then I have to just do it.
I found my body could live on less than I thought it could, it only wanted more food cause thats what I was putting into it. My body learned to adjust....
Right now I am just within a few lbs of what I want to be and was several months ago, eating out to much gets me in trouble lol.

I read in a diet book; if you are hungry while lowering your calories, change your food choices. The example given was, eat an entire head of lettuce with some celery, tomato and cucumber. Measure one tb. of dressing (mix w/ a little water).

Another meal was all steamed vegetables - but a lot of them.

I couldn't do it myself.
