Cleaning Puzzle Mats

Hey All!
I absolutely love working out on puzzle mats!! Seeing all of the sweat marks on them makes me cringe at how yukky the carpet I was working out on must have been! :p I have been wiping the mats down with a wet cloth and I was just wondering what you use to keep them clean. Thanks!

Take Care
Laurie :)

I'm curious about the puzzle mats. I have hardwood floors - will they work on that? Or will I be sliding all over the place?

I found the mats at Target that are ALL black on both sides. They come in a 4 pack for 14.99. I have bought my first pack but haven't opened them yet as I need 2. I didn't notice anyting on the label about cleaning.

I wipe mine with a damp cloth, or a damp cloth with a mild soap and then a clothe with plain water to rinse but only if my son gets something icky on it as he is wont to do. I think they would be great on a hardwood floor. I have very slippery tile and they stay put on that. I got mine at greatmats.com and I don't want to tell you how much I spent! They came out at Costco soon after, of course. I love my mats!

Bobbi-
How much were they at Costco? Were they the black ones? I have a Costco card but never go. It is closer to my house than Sams. DH goes there around Christmas to look at the decorations. My kids are geting older so I need to start buying in bulk.LOL

Eleven bucks, I believe. At Target, I bought 1 X 1 baby mats, 12 of them, for strength work when I don't need full coverage and don't want to haul the bigs ones out.. They are very cute! I now have 16 of the 4 X 4's. I couldn't get the additional 4 I wanted at Costco because they were backwards and wouldn't fit with mine, which are a pinch thicker and a bit more pliable. I started out by using my son's Alphapbet Puzzle mats which were of a similar size but with each letter in the center of the mats and in bright colors. That was too sad, so I ordered some from http://www.greatmats.com. :) They are so much better than working out on carpet and make working out on tile possible because I have such foot woes.

They used to slide for me, then I got enough to fill the space so that there is a barrier in front (the TV stand), the back (the sofa) and the two sides (a pile of weights and a pile of stuff!). Before I had them tightly nestled in, I would put heavy dumbbells on the corners to help keep them in place.
