Good morning Robin J and all clean and tidy peeps!

I'm sorry I missed you guys yesterday. I had a nutso day of work (it was actually my day off but I had to cover) and errand running/phone calls regarding my "unforunate incident" from last week. As a result, I wasn't able to workout, again, and probably won't be able to today either unless I want to do it without AC in 100 degree heat this afternoon :-(. My riding marathon today may have to suffice. I was squeaky clean with my eating yesterday, so that was good, but I've got to get some portion control going here.

Today's plan...
B - the usual omelette
S - the usual steel cut oats with blueberries (I need to pick some blackberries at the farm today)
L - salad with tuna, cottage cheese
S - tomatoes and basil with balsamic vinegar, banana
D - Asian turkey burgers, roasted brussel sprouts and tomatoes
Going to try for no dessert

LOL Kate Rhythmic Step will take care of those calories. That's one of my favorite step w/o.

Sjeila eating naturally is a great way to stay clean. In fact there is a "diet plan" (i hate that word diet) called the Bible Diet and it's all about eating naturally like they did in the old testament. My goal is to drop weight and build up endurance so I do not eat maple syrup

Wendi- sorry you could not w/o yesterday but you kept your diet clean and that is very important.

Yesterday I ate clean all day until my DD offered me some pretzels around 9 p.m. I guess I should have said no. Well I broke two of my own rules, no eating carbs in the evening and no eating after 7 p.m.

Oh Well today is a new day!

B- Kashi
S- 1/2 protein bar
L- tuna and green salad
S-1/2 protein bar
D- chicken and veggies (steamed brocoli slaw)
S- 1/2 apple (or maybe nothing)

No workout today...it's my rest day.

Today is a rest day!! MIC yesterday was brutal, I am glad to have a day off.
Wendi-sorry about your workout being pushed back because of all of your break in fall out. That is unfair.

B-Yogurt and Ezeikel toast
L-sushi-with brown rice instead of white
S-raspberries and blueberries
D-roasted tomatoes in the oven and salmon

I never put in my post that I drink coffee, but I drink at least 3 cups a day and the rest is water, except that I found La Croix sparkling water with a berry flavor without any sweetners. It seems to be hard to find anything with out splenda or aspartame. So I have been drinking this alot too.

Looking forward to a workout tonight. Need a cardio but not sure which one I want to do. Any suggestions? Maybe Step Blast.

Wendi - What do you like in your omelettes? I like tons of stuff - onions, peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes. yum.........

Don't you hate when you cave just because DH is endulging? My DH has a bowl of ice cream every night and I get so mad at myself when I nibble off of his. Most of the time I have a bite or two while I'm scooping his but last night I didn't have even 1 nibble! And it was Edy's Loaded Oreo. I was so proud of myself!

Good morning everyone!

Well yesterday wasn't that great but no ice cream cake temptation today so it should be a better day. My DH and I may need to be banned from our kitchen because we were very accident prone yesterday. My husband spilled juice all over the place, I blended my protein shake all over the counter, and then I had water boil over cut off the gas and it took me about 3 minutes to figure it out. Hopefully we will have better luck today.

Here's the plan:

w/o - rest (need after Body Max 2 yesterday)
B - shredded wheat w/ skim milk & almonds
L - not sure yet, but probably a salad
S - berries w/ yogurt
D - Chop Suey w/ brown rice

Back to work for me today, which is a good thing. Its air conditioned here and its a hot one again.

Since i'm gearing up for the roadtrip, i keep thinking i'm going to take a rest day, but its just not going to happen!

Workout tonight: MIS, GS add on's, and Barr method

So far:
B: the usual...oatmeal, hemp pro, almond milk, berries
S: CC and a pear

I was reading yesterdays posts, to catch up. I agree in clean being whole foods, but its pretty hard to be perfect. I treat myself to coffee with Splenda a few times per week, i try to avoid sugar, cause it makes me nuts, but also really watch my sweetener intake. I think clean eating/whole foods is also trial and error, i think bodies react differently to different foods. I'm lucky too cause i'm allergic to chocolate...i'm going to go cry now :)
I'm a strict vegetarian, but was raised that way, so i dont think animal protein isnt clean, its just not for me!

Hi Kate! Hey, why don't you do SB "with" me tonight? I may even tack on RS Challenge on the end of it because I'm feeling very energetic right now. It figures, I just finished cooking dinner for tonight and the rest of the week (one of the perks of living alone...lotsa leftovers) and said "Hey, I'm not hungry anymore but I feel like a kick butt cardio", so I'm going to do it :7! Sick, I know LOL.

Yeah, I'm an egg/omelette lover! I will eat just about anything in an omelette. I think my fave would have to be feta, onion, tomato and spinach...YUMMY!!! I been doing 3 egg whites, spinach and mushrooms lately. Before that it was Spanish omelettes, again whites only. I'll sometimes allow myself a yolk every once in a while. I know the yolks are quite good for you in many ways (fat soluble vitamins) but I don't need too much added fat in my diet with all the PB I consume.

Will we be doing SB tonight? Take care and say hi to Mufasa.
 
Hi everyone

Robin - Kavli is an all natural, wholegrain, paperthin crispbread. Quite yummy and I don't overeat them like I do ricecakes. Tosca Reno says to eat them in her eat clean book.

Well today looks like:

B: fruit
L: Oats, almonds, hazelnuts, sultanas and yoghurt
D: Vegies

Don't know what workout I will do yet. It is going to be a cardio, don't know which one yet though. Hopefully I should have decided by the time I take the kids to school.

Just wanted to ask (sorry I haven't been following this thread for awhile, if I had I would probably already know the anser), but do you only eat three meals a day with no snacks in between? If so, how does this work for you? I have read so much about eating small meals five times a day, but I find that makes me hungrier and I feel like I am eating all day.

Kim I know you asked Kate this question "I have read so much about eating small meals five times a day, but I find that makes me hungrier and I feel like I am eating all day". Just my two cent, I do great with eating 5 to6 meals per day. When I eat only 3 meals per day I would get too hungry and then head toward the vending machines.. then you know what happens then...

My co-worker has bad eating habbits. She often skips breakfast then eats potatoe chips around 10 a.m. She thinks I eat strange food because I eat Kashi, salads, etc. Thank God for this forum and you ladies.

Hi everyone, here's what today looks like -

B - Steelcut oats & blueberries
L - Whole wheat bun w/ soynut butter, chopped cauliflower & light dip, grapes
D - Homemade bruschetta (turned out very yummy!), kefir & fruit salad
S - If I have one, it will be a granola bar or coconut juice - I read about this in one of the other threads and am interested to give it a try!

I didn't get my workout in yesterday. I've been having lots of sleep difficulties lately, and I ended up coming home and sleeping from 7pm to 8 the next morning because I couldn't sleep at all the night before. So, today I'll be doing cardio/shoulders.

Robin - I know completely what you're saying about coworkers. I'll make the most flavourful things to bring for lunch and my coworkers will still say they taste like lettuce or grass. Not to mention the rude comments I get about eating the way I do because, "You're not fat anyway, so you don't have to eat like that." It can be such a drain sometimes.

I've never heard of that book, Kate, I might have to go look it up. I have "What colour is your diet?" and that one I really like.

I can't answer for Kate but I HAVE to eat small meals throughout the day, every two to three hours, or my blood sugar does loop-dee-loops. I also find that this schedule keeps my energy level very consistent throughout the day. If I sit down and eat too much in one sitting my energy plummets. I've also found that I can't eat fruit, by itself, for a snack and that I have to pair it with some protein or else I get the shakes from the sugar crash about an hour later.

I know this is what works for me. Everyone is different. I also eat much more food (volume-wise) than anyone I know, but it's a lot of veggies and clean stuff. Try to find what works for you. If you don't have a huge appetite don't force yourself to eat just because you should. Listen to your body.

Well I decided to do Imax 2 for my workout.

Wendi I also find that if I eat too much in one sitting that my energy plummets and it makes me very tired. I need to keep my portions small. I do sometimes find I need to have some fruit around 4.00p.m. so my blood sugar doesn't drop. Maybe four meals a day will work for me. I might try that for awhile and see how I go. I am really not a big eater in the morning (I know that is when you are supposed to). 4.00 p.m. is my hungriest time of day.
