Clean & Tidy - Sat Aug 4

Good (very early) morning clean and tidies! I got home too late to post and had to be up and out by 4am for a horse show so I figured I'd start us off...

Thanks ladies for the support. Kate, I'm actually far more pissed off than unnerved. Unfortunately, they were NOT there when I got home. If they had been they probably would never have been able to walk again, that is if they even left my house breathing. I deal with 1200lb horses all day long, two skinny white boys would never have stood a chance...especially after Cathe workouts }( :7! We've (the cops, detective) pretty much concluded that it was a couple of kids looking for something to do *rolls eyes*. They actually climbed up the side of house (no ladder, you can see dirt marks all the way up) into an open window on the SECOND floor that I leave open for my cat when it's hot. They left everything else of value...bonds that needed to be cashed, checkbooks, computer, etc. The funny thing is that, for the most part, they didn't take the most valuable jewelry. They left a pair of diamond studs and a black pearl ring and took all my cheap, $5 a pair costume stuff...anything that looked like gold or diamonds. They did get a few things, like a pearl pendant that my mother gave me a few years ago and that I wore with everything and can NEVER replace...both because of the sentimental value and it's actual worth. Also gone were earrings that had been given to me by my SO that meant a lot to me. I was actually embarrassed to admit to the givers that these gifts were gone because they meant so, so much to me. The detective was able to lift some prints but I know they'll never be caught.

So, I move on. Today, to make up for last night, will be squeaky clean and the usual menu which doesn't normally change. Oh, and Robin, I have the same dirty little secret :9 }( !

Hi Wendi I'm up too. Sorry about the break-in. Some of these kids have nothing better to do. They weren't very smart, the left valuable stuff behind so they will get caught some day.

Good Morning Peeps:)

I've been up since 3:30 am, so since it is now 5:10 am I'm going to stay up and take a nap later. Robin every job has one of that type of person. WHY do they keep them. HRM is suppose to get rid of people like that. I have a co-worker who is on permanent light duty, which is against our master agreement. She comes and goes whenever she wants, gossips, and is manipulative, etc.etc. She check-ins with the union office, so she will be paid for the day. WHAT! When I transfered from one goverment hospital to another I was so surprise to hear about this employee....the fact that she still has a job.
Try to bite your tongue and don't get too stressed out about her. I know it's hard but someday she will get what she deserve.

Steph. I'm going to shop around for almond butter. I've tasted applebutter before :9

Wendi, my in-laws had a break in years ago that sounds like yours - neighborhood kids looking for a thrill. I think they mostly took cash, but they were caught. I understand completely about the loss of something with a personal meaning rather than a high price tag.

Robin J - The problem with this woman is that everyone knows what she is like, but no one has ever documented any of her shennanigans. Believe me, the whole department will be watching her closely and if she attempts anything shady, it will be noted in triplicate.

I'm working today and my menu is pretty much the same old same old. Almond butter on eng muffin for b-fast, PB&J on WW for lunch, lots (too much?) of fruit. My DS will be home for a visit over the weekend, so I think we are going out for Mexican for dinner. Today's workout will probably be C&W. Enjoy your Saturday, peeple.

ETA: Kate, it was a bag of peanut M&Ms, one of my favorite treats. I'm a microbiologist in a hospital lab.
 
Hey Clean Eaters!! We had a great anniversary, ate dinner at Flat Top Grill, it's a make your own stir fry place. AWESOME food & I had tons of healthy veggies and some chicken, a little beef, tofu, & shrimp w/ it. It was so good! Then we shopped a bit & went to Cold Stone Creamery. I made it a little tidier as I had the small (like it) size made w/ the sinless (splenda) ice cream w/ choc. chips & brownie pieces. YUM!!!

I just got done w/ S & B bi's, tri's, & abs.

Breakfast ~Off to make protein pancakes, that sounds pretty darn good!! And some strawberries & blueberries, loaded up at the store again y'day!

Lunch ~ Probably a salad + tuna

Dinner ~ Going out to eat AGAIN!! This time w/ 2 other couples. 2 date nights, it's almost unheard of for us!! We're going to a steak place w/ a huge salad bar so I'll load up on veggies & eat a little steak too! ;-)
 
Hi everyone. Sorry about not posting for a while. I have been eating clean for the most part but have been having a little bit of candy (there are these gummy twin cherries that I love!) but everything else has been clean. I have also been kicking some a$$ with my workouts lately. Thursday, I did iTrain #9 and logged 7.2 miles. Yesterday I did Jari Love's Ripped 1000 AND Upper Body premix from Muscle Max. Today, I did 9.1 miles on the treadmill. I think after my workout/clean eating vacation, I am refreshed and motivated. Hopefully, I will stay that way.

Wendi-I am SOOO sorry about what happened. I know how violated you must feel.

Robin-what the heck were you doing up at 0330 on a saturday morning?! UGH!

Robinellers-I am a peanut butter M&M's addict. I can't even keep them in the house. I will eat the entire pound bag. Why don't I buy the small bag??? That would just be a tease!

Jes-hap, hap, happy anniversary!!! Your post made me want ice cream!

So far today I have had a protein shake. DF and I are going to a cookout tonight but everyone is pretty healthy so there will be clean food choices there.

Good afternoon everyone! Wish it was evening - yes, little Mufasa was crying a lot last night. This is harder than when DDs were newborns! My word! In the daytime he's pretty good in his cage but at night...oh man! It's gotta get better, right? Right?

Today's eating has been good. I've resisted lots of sncky things (chips, deserts, etc) that have been around. Breakfast was wheat chex & a banana. We left kind for errands of impromptu so eating was wierd. Snack - pistachios. Lunch - granola bar and an apple. Had a couple cashews when I got home. Definetly need to make sure to load up on my veggies tonight.

Robin - I share your question of having too much fruit. I absolutlely love it.

Lorie - Awesome workouts! I need to get back in gear and kick it up a notch. We've been so busy lately that I haven't been making time for this like I should. I'm actually kind of scared for the new workouts to come! Thanks for the inspiration.

Jess, Lucky girl! 2 date nights! We haven't been out alone since May and that was to b'day shop for DD. We're way overdue. A lot ofpeople complain that it's hard to eat healthy when out to eat but I actually think it's pretty easy...you seem to too. Good for you!

Well, DD is aching for some attention while her sis is sleeping! Take care!
 
Oh my gosh, I am in heaven! I went to the grocery store and picked up some soynut butter on a whim and it tastes just like peanut butter! I used to love peanuts before I found out I was allergic a few years back. When I got home and tested it out I had to exclaim to my housemate, "It even sticks to the roof of your mouth like real peanut butter!"

Wendi, I'm so sorry about the burglary, I know the feeling after something like that must just be horrible, and I'm sure it's a hassle to deal with all of the after-effects.

Robin - I'm a fruit addict, and I think it's alright. Sure, it has some sugar, but I'd much rather my sugar come from a healthy source that's full of vitamins/minerals too, than something processed. Just becoming more aware of it myself lately, I've been shocked when food shopping and seeing "sugar" or "high fructose corn syrup" as the second ingredient in so many foods.

My eating so far today -

B - Steelcut oatmeal
L - 4 oz. kefir, a bunch of grapes, 2 slices whole wheat toast w/ soynut butter (!)
S - ?
D - Probably a sweet potatoe, black beans & a bunch of roasted veggies.

Happy Saturday to everyone else, i'm so glad more of us are here on Saturdays! It was dwindling for a while.

B: usual: oatmeal
S: 1/2 vega bar
l: soup, carrots, hummus, egg whites/oatmeal, and oh...carob covered raisins
s: simply bar and sugar free ice cream!!
oh dear, its not pretty!

I better go water grass or something!
