Happy Labor Day everyone.

Steph D so sorry about the DH b-day events, girl I understand about emotional eating too. I make out plans of what I'm going to eat and fall off and on the wagon all day. Just shopping for back to school shoes sends me into a tailspin and next thing I know I'm eating a double cheese burger. Don't kick yourself too much...family stress will do that. You should see my family during Thanksgiving dinner...most of them are drunk by 5 p.m. and raising HELL.

Trixie chocolate covered anything sounds good to me :9 :9

Hey Kate and other peeps to follow what the plans today.

Goodmorning!
Robin I sure hope you feel better soon. Are you off work today at least? How did shopping go?
Steph D I am so sorry about your bad party. No one on this planet can make me finish off a pint of Ben & Jerry's faster than my MIL. Which is kind of funny. When I had my dd,3 days after my csection i didn't feel like eating (go figure)she starts saying that I anorexic. So later as I am on the couch nursing I had out a pint of ice cream, nearly empty, and it is 12 am, she appears out of her room and says, she was wrong about me being anorexic, I must be bulimic. She is lucky I am not homicidal. Sorry to share so much, please know that you are not alone! I think that even on your bad eating day you still didn't do half bad. Italian cream cake, I could have eaten the whole thing!
Kate and Trixie and all to follow have a Happy Labor Day!
DH is on call all weekend, plus today, and it has rained the whole entire weekend, and our BBQ last night was cancelled, so today I am praying for something for the kids to do.

Hi Robin, Mikkia and Colleen, and all peeps to follow,

Thank you all for your support, really means a lot to me, honestly. I am that person that is always in control and appears together, so for me to lose it, it was a big deal!!
I sent my sister in law an apology this morning, really to save my DH, those kids were acting nutty!! Climbing all over my furniture in their shoes after playing in my flower beds!! Tell me i'm not wrong!
Robin, hope you feel 100% soon!
Mikkia, wow, you're MIL is just as nuts as mine! We need to start a check in for MIL eating :)
Colleen, what's London broil?

Today is a holiday, so i need to work off my day yesterday.
WO: Amy Bento KBX (Colleen, we had the same idea with Amy today), i'll add abs and likely classical stretch legs, already went for an hour long walk this morning.
B: oatmeal usual
unsure of the rest, will post later, i'm sure i'll hardly eat today out of guilt.
all the best peeps,
Steph

Did you know that Tosca Reno has a newsletter? I guess I signed up for it a while ago and I got my first one yesterday.

There is going to be a Clean Eating Magazine. It will be on newstands Dec. 4th. I hope it is good :)

Also, has anyone purchased the Oxygen Fall Nutrition Magazine? It looks interesting but I am going to try to find it at a store before buying it (It is $4.99).

Steph D - London Broil is a marinated or grilled flank steak. We have a Devin Alexander recipe (she has a cooking show on Discovery Health - not always clean but lowfat.) where we rub the meat in a spice rub and then grill it. Here's the recipe if you are interested:

http://health.discovery.com/fansites/devin-alexander/recipes/londonbroil.html

Ingredients:
1 tablespoon paprika
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
1 teaspoon brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon chili powder
1/8 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil
1-1/2 pound trimmed London broil (aka: top round roast)

In a small bowl, combine the paprika, salt, black pepper, brown sugar, onion powder, garlic powder, chili powder and cayenne.

Rub the olive oil over the London Broil. Then rub the spice mixture into it to coat it. Transfer the London Broil to a re-sealable plastic bag and refrigerate it for at least 2 hours or overnight.

Preheat the grill to high heat.

Remove the London Broil from the bag and place it on the grill. Grill it for about 5 minutes per side for medium rare, or until desired doneness is reached. Transfer it to a plate and cover the meat loosely with foil. Let it rest for 10 minutes. Slice it against the grain, holding your knife at a 45 degree angle into thin slivers and serve immediately or refrigerate it whole in an airtight plastic container for up to 3 days. Then slice it extremely thinly and serve on sandwiches.

Makes 6 servings.

Each serving has: 125 calories, 24 g protein, 2 g carbohydrates, 4 g fat, 2 g saturated fat, 50 mg cholesterol, less than 1 g fiber, 445 mg sodium

The recipe looks good!

I second the motion for MIL-eating check-in!!! Do NOT feel bad for "losing it" We've all been there.

Robin, hope you get feeling better. I DETEST shoe shopping for DDs. I took DD out today to get some last minute things. Yikes! Crowds like crazy. She starts school tomorrow and is so nervous and not wanting to go.

I had a good long walk this morning w/ my sis. Her legs are so long so I have to really go double-time to keep up, which is awesome.

Eating was good today. Shooting for even better tomorrow.

Good luck to everyone getting kids back to school tomorrow!

See you in the morning!
