Happy Hump Day everyone!

So, my "company" today is the 2 daughters of the American family that used to live here and has now moved to the CAT plant in Belgium (about 2 hours away). They had to go to Paris today to go to the consulate for their long term visas. So, I have a 5, 4, 2.5, and 1.5 year old girl here. It's a little crazy. They're watching Barbie movies, playing dress up, and doing lots of screaming! :)

Ok, Anne, I think I'm going to have to change my rest day to Wednesdays. It seems more logical. Before, I thought Friday would be good b/c I was working out at night and wanted to have a free night with Ryan. Now, I'm working out while Ellie takes her afternoon nap and I can't do that on Wednesdays b/c the kids don't have school so Annabel is home all day so she wants me to do stuff with her during Ellie's nap! So, I won't be doing Imax 2 today but tomorrow instead. Sorry to be "off" the schedule.

Robin, sorry to confuse you with the thread title. Glad you found us. I'm homesick for certain foods for sure!

Klaudia, taking your bday off of WO is totally acceptable. Hope you had a great day!

Morris, great job with the clean eats!

Katie, great job avoiding the cake. A couple pieces of choc won't break you - I promise.

Morning Angie!! I do NOT envy you -- makes me glad I get to go to my job today with all adults. I could not handle that for very long! Oh! I am making a roast in the crock pot today too -- my favorite grocery store had them buy one get one free this week!

Today's wo will be GS shoulders and then the standing legs portion, will do floor work later in the week.

Today should be busy at work -- LOADS of appointments. I think I am going to wear my HRM at work, just to see what it says -- I'm curious.

WO was 59:42, 264 cals, avg HR 116 and high HR 157 (<----leg presses, they kick my a$$:eek:)

Breakfast and snacks will be the usual today, dinner is the roast with potatoes and carrots. I'm thinking I should eat a salad for lunch so I can get my green veggies in.

i did cathe this am! did cardio fusion scrambled premix and it felt great. eats have been do good, i plan to stay on track today. breakfast is eggwhite. and cereal and fruit. bbl

riddle me this, batman: my mom, who i consider pudgy and extremely out of shape, weighs only 3# more than me! i wouldve thought shed weigh 20# more! PLEASE tell me its because im packing some serious muscle because i cannot believe i basically weigh the same as MY MOTHER!!!:mad:

Unless you mom does Cathe... of course you have muscle tone so your weight is different than hers. Like for example one of the American gladiators or female wrestlers may weight about 170# but look like they weight about 120. If she lets you...take her measurements and then compare yourself to her that way. OR don't compare yourselft to anyone. Are you the same height? Can she do 40 mins of BM2???

robin, lol! thanks! not so sure id measure my mom!:eek: it was just like WOW! i wouldve thought she weighed a lot more. yeah, we're the same height and no, she couldnt even do the wu of bm2. the scale is so frustrating....and dumb! i wear a 6, mom wears a 10/12. but you're right - i'll settle for being a gladiator! =) i loved that show when i was little!

good luck w/ your wo! kb's sound so great. waiting for post-sts though. that cxt on od looks so tempting too though! kate, put your visa away!!!:p

Hi everyone,

Well, I'm surviving here. It wouldn't be so bad except the other girls are just really not well behaved at all. I don't understand how people don't discipline their children. Their 1.5 year old just screams and screams when she doesn't get her way and made herself throw up! The 5 year old is just not very obedient and is a little out of control. The little one is sleeping now so it's quiet but the parents are going to be 2 hours later than they were supposed to be... oh well. I have to be here anyway. I do kind of hope they stick around for a bit so I can have some adult interaction!

Ryan and I had a "fight" last night. When I say that, I don't really mean fight but we just had an upsetting discussion. He's been so good to me since we got here but I think he just doesn't feel like I'm taking care of him. So, he questions my love for him. It's frustrating and I totally understand where he's coming from. I think we are both just in survival mode. We knew this would be hard on our marriage and it is! I think we just need to be in constant communication. UGH.

A cute old French lady stopped by this morning. She was friends with the other family that lived here and she speaks pretty good English. She invited me over for "tea" and I think at some point I might take her up on it. I think she would be a good person for me to practice French with. It was nice to have a visitor.

Katie, great job with your WO this morning. You sound so much more confident when you're doing GS! You must really like them.

Kate, happy delay! I hope you're having fun! And seriously, you know weight means nothing. You have to just not even think about it. What CXT are you referring to? I guess I'll go to OD. Like I need to spend more $$!

OK, here's my thoughts lately. I know that everyone has diff body types and diff WOs work for diff people. I have a hard time understanding a 3 day split type of idea for lifting for women. How will I burn anywhere near as many calories if I only do "real" cardio 3 days per week? I'm wanting to do Cathe's Jan rotation but it has more of a 3 day split idea and I'm concerned I won't have the same type of success. I guess I'll just track it and see how it goes. I know a lot of you have success with heavy weight lifting but I just feel like I have so much belly fat still to lose! Decisions decisions!

Ok, I checked out the OD board. This is dangerous for me. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Chalene. She's just so energetic and cute and bouncy. So, perhaps next Christmas or something. I really don't need anything right now but this looks fun. There's always something isn't there?

My goal is to do a Cathe rotation every month through June and then reevaluate. Last night Ryan told me that I'm really starting to feel thinner. Right now it's TTOM so I feel anything but thin. I'm really struggling because it's my lower abdomen (like all the mommies) that needs work.

Okay, I'm really going to stop talking now.
 
Angie the only time I use a 3 or 4 day split is to lift heavy. Like with the gym styles, slow and heavy or 4DS. My suggestion is try to do a short premix and do some cardio 40min before the weight w/o or after. This way you are getting the straight cardio that you like. Also lift light weight and maybe do 2x as many bicept curls as Cathe does. What does everyone else think?

I had the same problem with my DH, years ago. Men get jeolous like children so maybe have a date once a week....or go to Victoria's secret:) and...

Upper bod 4DS and 100 swings are done. It took me 5 mins to do 100 swings :confused: I kept taking breaks:p.
 
Angie, don't stop talking, we love to hear from you! I'm sorry about the upsetting discussion with DH last night. As one who has survived/is going through marital strife, my advice is to ask him what he needs you do to feel loved by you. Ask directly (obviously, in a nice way) what he specifically wants. Because you're right, communication is the key. And, you are both in survival mode which makes it hard to give to the other person, even though you both need it. But talk, talk, talk, and talk some more. It builds emotional intimacy, which is what holds a good marriage together.

Okay, enough therapy, sorry! Hey, don't worry about what day you take as your rest day, my goal is to just get all 6 work outs done every week. So far this week, I'm up to 4. I did IMAX2 this morning and I was amazed I could do the whole thing. I pooped out in a couple places (the last 3rd of blast 5, the very last set of plie jacks in 9 and I skipped one set on each side of power squats in 10), but it didn't slay me the way I expected. Next week is going to be tricky, as I don't know when/if I'll be home on Sunday. I may only be able to do 5 work outs next week, but we'll see.

Kate, let me tell you, I weigh about 50 pounds more than my mother! Of course, I'm 6 inches taller than she is, but still. Don't worry about it, okay? And, I was wondering about your school delay this morning, too. And you said you miss lunch dates, would you like to have one some time? I love going out to lunch.

Klaudia, glad your birthday was fun! Do you get presents? I usually get a trip for my birthday, which is fine by me, as I love to travel.

Robin, how did the work out go? That sounds tough.

Katie, good job on your work out this AM! And, how do you guys do roast in the crock pot? I did pot roast on the stove on Sunday, but I don't have a crock pot recipe.

Morris, I know you feel better when your eats are on track, how is it going?

re the split q: i have to repress my cardio tendencies but i have slowly learned to love lifting heavy. ff's dec rot did wonderful things for me! so much so that imdoing it again.

i would love a lunch date, its just so hard right now. julia doesnt sleep well unless shes in her crib and since shes only awake for about 1.5-2 hours at a time im pretty much in the house. she takes about an hour to nurse so after that i have 30-60 mins to get wherever and back. preschool and the chiro are about as fare as i can go right now!:) but im def not complaining - i lovesnuggling her and keeping the home fires a'burnin.

said child needs some attention...brb......

Busy morning-had that blood drive assembly this morning then a meeting with the principal for wellness committee, and then I went and picked up tickets for the Daddy/Daughter dance nexth month:) Just got home and need to make lunch, then get a workout in! I'm at a loss as to what to do. I don't think I can do a whole month of circuits. I feel like I'll lose too much muscle. I'm such a Jekyll/Hyde when it comes to muscle gains. I'll figure something out. Not a big birthday celebrator here, but I did get some $$ and a lottery ticket! And my parents bought me a new plant which I'll promptly forget to water!

Angie, you cleaned up another kid's throw up?! You're a saint! That's why I don't offer to watch many kids these days-there's a lot of little hellions out there and I have my fill at home, thanks! You can talk anytime you want-look at me:I share all my medical fears with you guys:) Keep the lines of communication open. It's so important. You guys are going through a huge adjustment-your marriage needs time to adjust to it too.

Kate, no delays/cancellations here:( But we do have a short week-no school Friday or Monday. The same weight can look totally different on two different people. Muscle can make you look thinner than someone who weighs less than you, too. My friend who is uber thin looks bigger than me cause of our body composition-she doesn't exercise at all. You looked awesome preggo! And I know you look even more beautiful now:)

Angie, when my body seems to be hanging on to a few stubborn pounds, I can cardio til the cows come home but I don't -- I reach for the Gym Styles, that's where it's at for me.

klaudia, i lifted heavy all dec, did circuits/total body for 2 weeks and said forget it! the 1st week the change was nice but heavy lifting feels so much more productive.
busy morning woman! we get a new principal today. old one retired. he seems friendly.
long weekend sounds great! any fun plans?
i bought my sis a lotto ticket for her 18th and she won $100!:cool:
