I have to post quickly because I have another meeting soon. This day has been crazy.

Angie, I actually lose more weight when I lift heavy (3 day split) because muscle keeps burning calories while cardio you don't burn any more calories after you stop. You should give it a try - I was surprised by the results.
Anne, good job on Imax 2. It took me forever to get through that workout, then I went to Imax 3 and that was hard.
Klaudia, I have a plant that I always forget to water. I need to setup some sort of reminder.
Robin, kb bi's and tri's - sounds tough. Good Luck.
Morris, I love cardio fusion. I think it is in my rotation next week.
Katie, enjoy your roast tonight. I would use my crockpot more but I don't like leaving it all day.

angie, hugs on the "fight" with dh. it is so hard to communicate i think. i love anne and robin's advice though. i think asking him directly is perfect. also, maybe have an answer ready about what you need from him, even if he does not ask as men don't always ask those questions.

kate, do not compare numbers. i know, i know - it is hard not to. but, go by how you look and feel. how did you feel when you were 20lbs lighter and in a disordered way? how do you feel now? and who cares about a 6 vs a 4? i know you look fabulous, and i know your family thinks so too. enjoy a rest today, such as it is;)

klaudia, what a busy day for you! what is your workout going to be?

hi robin - 100 swings? i bet you feel it in a good way tomorrow. your advice re 3 day split sounds good. i like doing a split for upper body for 4-5 weeks then doing 2 weeks of 2-3 total upper body. i don't do much lower body as i mainly run and do body weight sqauts, etc for my running muscles. i like floor work sometimes but love lifting upper body.

busy morning here. finn ahs been the anti-christ so i took him to the dr with aidan. dr said this virus that has gone around is long lasting and to try more tylenol in case he is just achy and uncomfortable. now he feels so good he is fighting a nap! eats were off this am after a difficult conversation with my mother. i totally stress eat, and i know it! wish that fixed it!. anyways, i ate extra bowl of cereal and pb toast and larabar. could be worse i guess, and i have time today to get back on track. i think i will do some of stretch max. also, checking in with you guys really helps me get back on track. thanks for all the moral support. angie, i again want to let you know how much i admire what you and dh are going thru. it is not easy, and any way i/we can support you is fine by me! bbl
 
That's how I feel too, Kate! I'm thinking of going back to either 4DS or GS. I also have a P90X rotation using Cathe workouts that I might alternate with P90X(can't take Tony for a full 3 months). Maybe do 3 weeks heavy and 1 week circuits/endurance?

I think we're going to drop the girls off at my mom's on Friday afternoon after we go to Libby Lu and use up a few gift cards before they close the stores in a few weeks. We'll pick them up on Saturday night for a b-day party and then go to the Warren Community Center on Sunday-they have a big indoor waterpark for $10/child for a day pass:)
 
klaudia, did youever try an sts-like rotation? not sure exactly what that is, but sounds interesting. i was going to not go heavy with lifting in january, but, i started ff dec rotation and really like it. also, i am still pushing it with the pull ups and can now do a set of 5, then a set of 4. not sure i will reach my goal of 12:) maybe if i lost more weight? not really a reasonable thing for me, though. i know, though, if i do just circuits, i feel week. i do like endurance weight work though
 
Morris, I haven't tried that. I think I saw a post/rotation using Cathe's workouts. I'll have to check. I hear you on the pull ups. I can do a set of 8/9. That's the most I've done without assistance. I'm tryingto get to a set of 10. Depends on how I'm training, too. I can't lose much weight either. I think if we just keep doing them, we'll increase our reps. How about we try for every other day and see what happens? I like endurance, too. It's all so complicated. On the Oxygen Forums, they push 3 total body days with heavy lifting and only compound exercises. Then you pick up a fitness magazine and they say to do your weight lifting in circuit fashion. And of course, there's the diet component. Information Overload!!

Klaudia, I don't know. Which one interests you? On the one hand, an hour seems short, but 3 hours seems intimidating. You'll learn I can be very indecisive.

Morris, the sts-like rotation is a great idea! I saw a post in the Videos and DVDs forum a few weeks back where someone broke down all of Cathe's weight work out into whether they fit in Meso 1, 2, or 3. If I can find that post it wouldn't be too hard to set something up. Maybe I'll do that when I get back from vacation.

Angie, I forgot to tell you I also did segment 1 of Total Body Stretching this morning. I did that because a) I felt like I needed a really good stretch after that work out; b) I had time for it; and 3) somehow I completely missed that I was supposed to do segment 1 of Stretch Max last week. So, FYI, I did do some extra stretching today. Oh, and I wanted to tell you that I used to be a cardio queen, but now I like heavy lifting, too. I think it's made the most difference in my overall shape. But, I think I'm a bit older than you are, so that may make a difference. I'm on the cusp of perimenopsause, so...

anne, i will try to find that psot too. do you remmeber the title? what stretch workout did you do? i need to do sm3 later. we will see.

klaudia, too much info is right! i wish someone would just tell me what to do:) i think you just need to do a combo of what is fun and tough for you, and then not be afraid to mix it up every so often. easier said than done, i know!

short nap for kiddos. dh should be home soon. how am i going to survive a weekend of family? i love them all, but i hate having people stay with us - it stresses me out! my mom comes tomorrow, and she is a wreck still, needless to say. i must be patient. uh oh - gotta go get kids.
 
Morris, good luck this weekend. I know *exactly* what you mean about loving family, but hating having people stay with you. I don't know what to tell you about your mom, does tuning her out help at all? I don't mean to sound callous, but if she's re-hashing the same things over and over maybe you don't have to listen all that attentively? Just a suggestion.

Meso 1: CTX, Muscle Endurance, Leaner legs, Power Hour, Legs & Glutes, Supersets & Push Pull
Meso 2: MIS, Pyramids, Pure Strength, Muscle Max, Gym Styles
Meso 3: Slow and Heavy and 4DS

*I like to use the Pyramids during an endurance rotation, before I start Gym Styles.

I don't have Power Hour, MIS or the Pure Strength series. But, I think I could come up with something pretty good with what I have. I didn't order STS because I just didn't feel I could spend the money (what? my vacation? that's needed!). It would be fun to do something similar along with everybody, though.

The other thing about STS is following a 3 and a 1/2 month rotation. I can't even stick to a month, so that's a tall order for me.

We'll see.

Okay, why am I so chatty today? I guess I'm feeling energetic. Even though I'm getting up earlier, I feel more alert all day. I know part of it is the exercise, but I also wonder if I'm one of those people that just doesn't need as much sleep. 6 hours seems to be fine for me.

I'm trying to stay away from w/o for meso1. I don't want to be burned out by the time STS comes.

I did the 100 swings but it took me 5 mins. It nly took 1 min to do 50...WTH? I had to stop and catch my breath. I feel some DOMS coming on.:confused:

Something went wrong -- my roast did not turn out:( Maybe I got a bad piece of meat? I don't know... There's $12 down the toilet!

So what about dinner now? I have no clue... Ughhhhh:mad: I have had a BAD DAY, things are NUTS at my office again, and now this! AND Collin just put his STICKY BLUE CANDY HANDS (from a candy cane I told him he could NOT have) on my couch! What a day...

DH wants mexican since my dinner flopped. Guess Ii'll order a salad and stay OFF the scale tomorrow:eek:

anne, thanks for the post and link - that is helpful. and i appreciate the advice. i do just need to tune things out - if i could do that easier, all of life would be better:)
