<><><>Clean-it-up-Weekend<><><>

angie, i have the Firm power yoga, and i love it. no inner self stuff or anything weird. it is the only yoga i do.

i don't want to get into all that stuff either. the only thing i want in my inner self is the Lord Jesus.
cathy

Thank you for the bday wishes ladies!

Patti - Glad you had a great lunch date. I find that also to be the problem when I don't eat throughout the day. Junk enters my mouth.

Morris - We don't have a basement and it is a challenge. We had a treadmill and a bike which we both sold because it was in our family room and it did make things look and feel cluttered. We have a workout/guestroom that stores all our weights, barbells, and weight bench. It is a pain though when guests come over - like this weekend - and we have to rearrange. Is there an extra bedroom you can use as a workout room? Our nephew is 12 going to be 13.

Kate - I wonder also about how I survive, lol. I've gotten used to the nephew thing since we have been doing it for years, but I do sometimes feel like DH's family is totally overtaking my life, but I've learned to deal and it's actually quite okay because they are easy people to like.

Pool day planned for tomorrow. My ankle is still a little swollen so I might have to put off running until a few more days. I guess more weights for me until then. I wonder how much ub I can do? I had some doms in my tri's yesterday though so I'm hoping to trim those wings. Maybe I'll swim some laps in pool tomorrow, but I'll have kiddos in tow so we'll see.

Lisa

lisa, you have a great attitude abt dh's fam! im impressed!!!
lol abt the wings! hope you guys have fun swimming! mike was talking abt possibly putting in a pool. i said no way! his parents have one and they live 10 mins away. much cheaper to just go there!

katie, hows cakemax??!!

patti, good luck today!!

church this a.m. and no other plans! yay!!
hoping for a run.

we had dessert last night in bed:eek::eek:. no sweets/cheats now til dads day - he wants lemon meringue pie. will keep it clean all week so i can enjy a slice guilt free!

ARRRRRRRRGH!!!!!!

i just found out my $%#$@$ bil is running in MY 5k
:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Oh yes, THAT would piss me off. WHY? Will he beat you? Train hard this week!

*

Ugh, cakeMAX. We stayed at the party until about 8 pm last night - it was a lot of fun, I didn't want to leave! I had a few hours of steam left to get a few more things done. Cakes are made, filling is made, decorations are made... Now it's just time to put the puzzle together. I think this part should go pretty quickly.

Sorry I have been mostly MIA this weekend.... Ya know....

can i ask a dumb question? how do you fill a cake? i think of frosting btwn layers. where does the filling go? glad you had fun, katie. hope today is good too.

kate, nice night last night;) how big is your race? you may not even see this person? that is why i never race;)jk

lisa, sorry the ankle is still swollen. hope you get to swim today. can you do some lb floor work for veriety?

pouring rain this am. i so wanted to stay in bed, but i got myself on the tm for my long run. i feel like a hamster now:confused:, but it is done. hoping to do ub this afternoon, but i am wiped out right now. it is so much harder on a tm than outside, despite my hilly area. i guess it is a mental thing. 2 showings in a few hrs. must clean again . bbiab

Hey girls. We had a long night. There were fireworks for some reason that were keeping me awake and then Annabel came in around 4 a.m. crying that her leg hurt. She came in our bed and was awake for about an hour and then fell asleep. Then Ellie came in around 6:30. I slept in until 9 and now Ryan is napping after church.

We went to church and had lunch there. It was a nice morning. I'm finishing up some laundry and hoping to get in core max a bit later.

Vent about my little 2 (almost 3!) year old. She's sweet as can be and I love her to pieces but she drives me crazy because she clutters my house to pieces. She has always loved to put little things into purses, boxes, buckets, etc and carry them around. So there are always random toys all over my house that I can't keep on top of! Sorry to vent... just frustrated about it today!

Kate, sorry about BIL in your race. You'll kick his butt cuz you're a rock star! Enjoy your day. I would love to have a pool in my backyard.

Morris, sorry about your indoor run! LOL about a hamster. This is the first house I've had a dedicated wo room and it's so nice. I just used to pile my weights and such on top of my step in a corner somewhere... was the best I could do.

Katie, glad you had a good time at the party and that your cakes are turning out so well! You are inspiring me with your running!

Lisa, pool day tomorrow sounds fun. So, you keep your nephew the whole summer? That's commitment. Of course if I was his age, I wouldn't argue about spending the summer in Hawaii. Where does he live? Take it easy on your ankle. It will heal soon enough!

Patti, way to save yourself from a junk attack. I could stand to take some lessons from you. My eating just really needs to be cleaned up.

Hi Colleen, Anne, Robin, and Klaudia. Hope you're all having good weekends!

Cathy, I might check out the Firm Power Yoga. I'm an ex-firmer! I used to love it! And ITA on Jesus being the only thing in my inner self. :) And no, I live in France but the majority of my english speaking friends are British or Australian.

Ok, I think I'm caught up. Foot feels pretty good today. Probably a day or two and I'll get some cardio in.

à tout à l'heure!

im not exactly sure why it even bothers me.... well, i do, i guess. he and sil have to copy EVERYTHING m & i do ... right down to painting their living rm the EXACT SAME color as ours. so i repainted. they drive us nuts!:eek:

katie, the putting together is the fun part!:D youve done a ton of work!!!

morris, i think the race is pretty good sized. i better smoke him!:D
good job w/ your run!
good luck w/ the showings!!!!

angie,

oops... outta time.... catch you later angie!

Morris - I put one layer of cake down, then make a "dam" with buttercream around the edge, then spread my filling inside of that. That way the filling (strawberry for this cake) doesn't ooze out and smear thru the white buttercream. A nice filling just adds something extra to a cake.

Kate, I definitely understand the "copying" thing. I just found out that some old friends of ours painted their living room the same color as ours:rolleyes: You will rock that 5K no matter what!

Angie, I hope that one day soon your foot will heal and you can add some running back in. Definitely check into the "Run Keeper Pro" app - it's awesome for outdoor runs! And I just got an e-mail that they are updating it with interval runs and such - a lady speaks to you thru your headphones and tells you what to do (as well as distance, etc.).

Okay, cakes are layered, filled, and first layer of bc is on. Now for the final icing, stacking, and decorating!

Here are a couple of pics - the cake with filling (so Morris can have a visual) and the high school logo for the top of the cake. "H" for Harrisonburg and the lighting blots are for "blue streaks" (their mascot). Those are made from chocolate and sugar.

Hi guys! I did my 5K this morning with my friend. She had to walk a few times so I did that with her- nice that doing Cathe has us in good enough shape to run a 5K with no problem. :D It was a real trail run, though, so I had to make sure I didn't twist an ankle or anything. It was fun! I think I would like to do them every now and again- nice energy and atmosphere.

Katie: It's beautiful! Wow, what a great job- I've never made a cake quite so detailed or beautiful.

Kate: I don't like copy people either- find your own thing man! When is your 5K?

Angie: Well sometimes I reeeeaaaaally mess up on the eating, but I'm trying to be focused lately. I have the RT to prep for and don't want to show up as Big P! Oh and my DD (who is 4) STILL does the weird toy thing too- drives me NUTS. I find random toys stashed everywhere.

Morris: WTG on the TM run- weird that I find the TM easier. :) What UB are you doing today?

Lisa: Glad you are still being mindful of the ankle- no point in a long term injury. LOL about the triceps.

Hi to everyone else! Gotta go hang with the kids so Jeff can workout.

Katie, Awesome job on the cake!!! Can't wait to see the final product! :D:D

Patti, Glad you enjoyed your 5K!! Good for you! Mine is Saturday. I need to run the course this week. Most of it is on a paved road but I think part of it gos thru a local park... and I think there's a wicked hill. But I've been running my road that has some hill to it so I plan on it being a cinch!;):D

Angie, BOTH my girls stash their loot all around the house! I have to work ALL DAY at reminding them where things belong.:rolleyes:

-
I let Mike sleep in today while I made breakfast, cleaned house, made his coffee, got the paper, etcetc....with Julia in tow. So I'm going to go outside in a bit for my run. I was ornery he was sleeping in ..... for the second day in a row..... but knew it would be good leverage for getting some solo time for a run!:p:D:D

Hi Everyone!

I feel like such a slob because I haven't done very much this weekend. But I really needed a mental break from week, so chilling is fine. I only did MM yesterday - I went heavier than usual so I was wiped out when it was done. Did yoga this morning since it was my rest day.

Katie, awesome cake. do you have the free run keeper or did you pay for it? It won't work for me until I get my new iPhone since I have the original one without GPS.
Kate, sorry about your in-law copycats. That drives me crazy too.
Angie, I have Tracey Staehle's yoga and I like it. The production quality isn't that great but it is a good stretch.
Morris, I don't know how you survive all those showings. I guess your house is super clean.
Robin, isn't funny how we have to prep for people coming to our house? Chris always complain I preclean for the cleaning lady. But she can't clean around the clutter.
Lisa, happy belated birthday! Enjoy your family visit.
Patti, ^5 on 5K. I have never done a trail run.
Hi Klaudia & Anne!

Kate,:rolleyes::rolleyes: That's all I have to say!

Colleen, I have the "Pro" version of the app and I paid 9.99 for it. I have never paid for an app before but I think it's worth it.

Kate - You are such a good wife!! Sorry about bil. That would irk me to no end also.

Angie - My dd used to and still does at 7 the same thing. I find my stuff missing at times which really gets me going on a bad day.

Patti - Great job on the 5K!

Katie - Cake looks great and sounds yummy!

Morris - Funny what you said about the tm being harder because I tend to find it opposite for me. When I used to run on the tm at the gym, it seemed easier than road running. Maybe because I've lived in really hilly places and the gym had no heat to contend with?

Colleen - Mental breaks are good. I need one asap!

I did MM UB last night and was able to up my weights again so I was happy about that. Pool and lunch planned for today at my parents' place. Hoping to sneak in some laps to get some cardio this week.

Lisa

my run is done!!! it is so hot & sunny. i was sweating like a pig!:D:D

katie, you dont like the assembling part?

colleen, you aredef not a slob!!! if i had your job id come home and sit and drool on myself!:p

lisa, wtg on mm! hope you get your laps in! enjoy your day!!! :D:D

yea for the run kate! nice alone time, huh?

katie, the cake looks amazing. what do you do with your weights and barbell at home? where do you keep your tm?

patti, great job qiht the 5k. i did bm2 double ub going heavy. it was rough!

lisa, have fun at the pool.

colleen, you have earned your downtime for sure.

got my ub done, but no nap for finn:( that means a grumpy afternoon. must go to grocery store shortly for a few bits, and truthfully, just need to get out with the kids with all this rain. they like to look at the llobsters in the tank. bbl

morris, lol! i use the grocery store for an outing at least once a week!:p lobsters are a must-see for us too. and the goldfish!:rolleyes::p
good job w/ the weights! i love that premix!

hey ladies

Katie that cake looks so good I can almost taste it.
My DD made a cake on Sat and it was gone by Sat night.

No w/o for me today. I went to church and had a good time. Now I'm cooking and doing laundry.

Kate isn't it funny how sibling rivery hands around even in adulthood.

Angie clutter is my son's second name. He collects everything. All kinds of cards and little toys. I want to sell his whole room on ebay.
