Clean Eating Question

Have any of you read The Clean Eat Diet? I really liked it but I have afew questions and you guys probably know the answer.

Are these foods considered clean?

Non-fat latte

Plain non fat yogurt

Lean Cuisine dinners that are made with no preservitives

Fiber One cereal

What protein bars are good and clean?

Through my reading, I've learned that there are degrees of clean eating. So it depends on how clean you want to be.

Non-fat latte -- ok if you're not giving up caffeine AND there's no added sugar. Some purist would insist that the skim milk used be orgainc or at least natural.

Plain non-fat yogurt -- check the label to be sure there's no added sugar. And again, purists would insist on organic.

For the others, you really have to read the ingredients label to determine whether it's clean or some acceptable degree of clean to you.

If you're referring to Tosca Reno's "The Eat-Clean Diet", she says she won't give up her caffeine. Check the index for answers to some of your questions.

I doubt it. Most frozen foods are high in sodium, and are highly processed (white flour, sugars). They may be low in calories, but they aren't necessarily high in nutrients.

If you still choose to have frozen dinners I recommend Amy's which are usually much higher in fiber and lower in sodium. I would not consider a frozen dinner clean but I have found the Amy's to be a reasonable option when I don't have time to prepare myself a lunch for work.
