whats up for today?!

normal saturday here - I will be soooo glad when swim class is done!!!! IT's so hot in there and their classes are back to back so you're THERE for 1.5 hours and w/ travelling to and fro it takes a huge chunk out of the day. We should have them continue n the winter session but ugh..... we'll see.

Gotta go make breakfast - normal fare for them, continuing clean eats for me.

Doing Insanity during J's afternoon nap. I'm mildly sore in my keester but should be ok to WO again today. Not sure about my poor hub tho!:p I'm really proud of him for finishing it last ngiht tho!

Morning...not sleeping in just lazing around .

How are you liking insanity? I decided not to buy it because I can't do all of thee high impact stuff.:( but he is coming out with a great core w/o soon.

Today's plans to w/o k-bells empire state:)
They are having a health fair in the mall today, so we are going to get some free stuff i hope.

Eats yday was 80% b/c we had pizza for dinner.

Jillian wrote anything that throws your hormones out of wack will cause you to yo-yo up and down with your weight. Some people think that they have a bad metabolism that why they can’t lose weight but it’s your out of wack hormones which is causing the weight gain.


Many factors play into hormone imbalance
1.endocrine disruptors, anything that mimics a hormone will block the real hormone from working an example would be the plastic food containers or cups.


2. too many lazy years, as we age most of the hormones decrease that is why it’s important to exercise. “Exercise reduces weight-gain hormones like cortisol by releasing endorphins to combat stress and increase fat burring hormones like testosterone, t4, etc.”


3. too many processed foods because our bodies don’t recognize the processed junk as food.


4. too much pesticides in our food and too many toxins in the environment


5.too many hours awake and not enough sleep


The interesting thing she wrote was concerning leptin (which is a protein made by fat cells). When you eat a meal and your leptin levels are normal, fat cells will release this hormone. The problems come when this hormone is out of balance. This would lead to constant hunger (levels are too high) or anorexia (levels are too low). I thought is should have been the other way around.

Now I’m up to chapter 4 ‘how this diet works”.

One more thing, try not to exercise on an empty stomach because your body will break down muscle for energy. I know sometimes you have to w/o on an empty stomach.

Hey ladies, crazy morning in my house!! Grocery shopping at 6 am, shower, fed the boys, then off to the gym. Collin is in the pool for swimming lesson now - diving for rings. He is so awesome at swimming and loves it - so happy and at home in the pool. It's wonderful to see him love something so much! After this I'm taking him to YES club while I take my lifting class.

I'll be back later when I don't have to post from the iPhone!
 
Katie that's always good to get them to swim early.

i just remembered that this wweek is my active recovery week.:confused:
so no kbells :( but lots of class stretch this week:D and some step and kickboxing.

well, it has been rough here. dh was out last night and working all day today. i got up on my own at 4:45 to run on my tm only to find the belt is off, so it was speeding and slowing. i got off after 5 min, and back in bed, but by then finn got up. i brought him in bed with me, we were just falling back asleep at 5:15 when aidan woke up:( mommy was a real grump. no one could sleep so we got up. i get a bit unreasonable when i am tired and i do not exercise, so i had some depressed/bad/sad thoughts. we all finally got up, had breakfast, i cleaned 1/2 the house, then we went to the club my dad belongs too (ipretend i am a member), and the boys spent some time in the cub's den while i did a crazy hill spped run on the tm. just finished the rest of the cleaning now.

so, my sad thougths had a lot to do with my job situation, moving and not having new friends, so much fighting with dh, and poor body image. i finally decided to take deep breathes and repeat the blessing finn learned in school for october (they do a blessing each month, and finn memorized it the first day:cool:) - "when i am afraid, i will trust in Him". so, today my goal is to remember that, and keep eating clean! biab

hi ladies, just poppin thru quickly, so busy today... just finishedthe walls and ceiling, need to do th wainscot and trim, get sink/cabs/outlets/lights in, new door on... and voila! but at least we can shower now without going to the neighbors =)

no wo yesterday, bathrm was all consuming. i must fit in ub today absolute MUST. prob bm2 dh is working this weekend so its on me to keep things moving and try to wo around the baby's sched...

Hi Everyone,

I FINISHED INSANITY TODAY!!!! I just need to do my fit test tomorrow and then the rotation is complete. I will take measurements and post results hopefully tomorrow. My workout was Max Cardio Conditioning and Insane Abs. I was really tired because I did not have a recovery workout but I pushed through and did it. I am thinking about doing either the Oct. rotation or FF Dec. rotation. I am leaning toward the Oct. rotation.

Katie, busy morning. Hope you get your nap in this afternoon. How was your lifting class.
Kate, 1.5 hrs in the hot stuffy pool. That would drive me crazy but I know the girls would enjoy it.
Robin, interesting stuff from Jillian's book. I have a whole list of books that I want to read and that is one of them.
Wendy, hope you can squeeze your workout in
Nina, sorry about your TM woes. I am glad you were able to still get a run in today. I know things will improve - you just need to be patient.
Klaudia, big win today for MSU. I am really pissed because I spend too much money for TV and not a single channel has the Penn State game. I should have stayed in PA.

Eats have been clean but I am not sure what is for dinner. The weather is nice so we might go out.
 
Hello again ladies. My lifting class was good - hard - but I think that as mostly due to the speed of the reps. I am used to going slower and heavier. It was fun, though. It was heavy on the lower body, so I am a little concerned about what my legs will feel like tomorrow for my run:confused:

Collin's swim lesson is about 45 minutes long. Today he spent a lot of time going under water to get diving rings and also learning how to jump/push off the wall for various types of strokes. He is so good!

My HIIT run yesterday was good - pretty hard - but I did not get that 'puke factor' that people talk about so I guess I need to go harder.

I am NOT looking forward to my long run tomorrow - supposed to do ten miles - but I just don't wanna do it! I'm not totally sure what the problem is. I know I CAN. I just don't WANT to. So I'm screwed...
 
Hey all!

Crazy busy day-was at school by 8 am to set up for the walk-a-thon which was a big success-we raised almost $8000! Then home to watch the football game and now just lazing around waiting for some very unclean food-pizza and some pop (soda;)) No workout-again. Too drained. Will try for one tomorrow-maybe a circuit or not. Still trying to figure out my next rotation-I'm at a loss.

Katie, do the run! You'll be so bummed if you don't. You've been training so hard-don't quit now! Yay for Collin:) It's so cool when they find something they love to do. Danica never complains about going to dance-she'd stay there all day!

Kate, look at it this way-at least it's not soccer and you're not getting soaked! Way to go on Insanity!

Robin, how was the health fair? We had one here too but it was at the same time as our fundraiser.

Nina, that's a good blessing to remember. Please don't beat yourself up. Take it from me-I know. It's not fun at all. Think of all the positives in your life-control what you can and move on.

Wendy, can't wait to see the new bathroom-I need some inspiration!

Colleen, way to go! I bet you made some awesome improvements! Funny-I have the Penn State game here-must be a Big 10 thing. I am super excited about the win-we haven't beat Michigan two years in a row in over 40 years! Gonna gloat a little!
 
klaudia, just curious, but what is your favorite sport to watch? busy day for you! thanks for the kind words. i feel better now, but it is one of those lying-in-bed-too-tired-to-do-anything-but-panic things. or so i hope.

katie, great job with the class. hope your legs feel up to a long run after lifting. i am sorry you do not want to run it:(it is awful to spend so much time if you are not having fun.

i had a super duper squeaky clean and oh so tidy day. wish i felt something better than just hormonal. i am still a little sad. dh works again tomorrow and has to leave by 6:45am, so my run will be a lot shorter tomorrow. some morning i think i will just run a marathon;) i am just hoping to have a great day with my boys - maybe go to the pumpkin patch, playground, bike ride - possibilities are endless.

kate, boys loved the apple oat pudding. i was not wild about the texture, and i would use less sugar next time, but it is good. i think it needs more liquid. i may reheat it in a pan with milk - make it like rice pudding - mmmmm.
 
Hi ladies!!! It was a crazy day for me today. We left the house at 8:45am for football and cheerleading then we did not get home until almost 4:00. I'm not even out of the house that long for work! Anyway, I am pooped! Pomai is asleep for the night and I'm supposed to do my Insanity. I feel so tired though so I might just do it tomorrow. Yesterday was my Insanity rest day but I did ub weights. I might just rest tonight and do Insanity tomorrow morning. We'll see. I am pooped. DS' team won 37-0. Watching tackle football sure makes me nervous I must say. I hate waiting for ds to get up from under the tackle pile. Hope you guys are enjoying your weekend.

Klaudia - Pizza for us tonight also. I was just way too tired to cook anything.
Kate - Isn't it crazy how much you sweat with Insanity? Totally different wo than Cathe's like you said.
Colleen - Yay for being done! Can't wait to hear the results.
Nina - Sorry about starting off the morning like that. My morning was pretty similar. Got up on a bad start, but the rest of the day went ok. Hope your hormones settle and yay for a clean eating day!

Angie - I like all kinds of books, but definitely on the lighter side. I can't read too many serious and sad books. I like light-hearted stuff and fantasy, but not sci-fi fantasy. Fantasy like Harry Potter and Mary Poppins. Right now I'm reading The Last Chinese Chef. I'm also reading Notes from Underground by Dostoevsky, but off and on in between my other books. What kind of stuff do you like?

Kate - I thought of you today at Costco when I picked up a pack of Honeycrisp apples. I like Fuji apples also and the Honeycrisp was a lot more expensive than the Fuji's. I might alternate between the two.

how is everyone this am? i had a horrid night of sleep, but i feel really good right now. i woke every hour, and aidan was up from 3:45 yto 4:45am. when he finally fell back asleep i headed out for a run. dh had to leave for work at 6:45, so i had to cut it shortish;), but i guess i need to back off my mileage a little - last week was my highest yet. today the kids and i will be busy, but it will be fun. i need to do ub today - thinking of ctx all ub premix. then, i volunteer at the animal erfrom 4-9. i think i will be sufficiently exhausted. biab. oh, and feeling lean despite major pms:cool:
