Clean Eating Challenge Check-In - Nov 4/05

Morning everyone!

I'm just getting this going this morning but don't have time to write so I'll be back latah!

I don't have my meals planned out but I GOTTA be good today because I will be eating at the Cheese Cake Factory tomorrow!:eek: }( :+ :9 I'll check-in once I've got a few meals under my belt!

Last night for dinner, though, I made baked ziti with ww pasta and lower fat cheeses. It was yum-a-liscious!:9 }( :9
 
Br - oatmeal with blueberries, egg beaters with 1 pc WW toast, coffee
Sn - baked apple protein smoothie
Ln - one southwestern chicken tortilla (the last of it - can you tell I don't mind re-runs!!), chickpeas
Sn - 1/2 cup cottage cheese, 1/2 cup pineapple
Dn - not sure yet, we'll be on the road by then. Will do my best to keep it clean!
 
Good morning mein friends

Last night's dinner turned out to be a concoction on kidney beans, tomatos and onions on brown rice

Today's plan is:
B-cereal with soy milk, banana
L-chicken rice soup, half turkey sandwich, carrots, tomatos, apple
S-fruit
D-chicken breast cooked with sauce of Catalina dressing, apricot jam and onion soup mix (New recipe that sounded good -hope it is), rice pilaf (made the Armenia way taught by my grandmother) and steamed brocali (sp?)
One small piece of chocolate
Lots of water, about 4-5 cups of coffee, and probably 2 glasses of wine with dinner

See you all later. I will probably post my weekend plans later, since if won't be near a computer and want to remain "good."
 
I actually did pretty good yesterday. I still need MORE WATER!!! I am still craving that sugar and have yet to go all day with out any but am doing a lot better. Today is going to be harder because my SIL is coming over and bringing mexican. What do you think I should eat?

Fridays are dangerous for me - way too easy to say "yay! Friday! pizza!" I'm gonna stick to the plan though. Read a book (Schwarzbein Principle) last night about how important it is to get enough protein and fats to maintain metabolic health - so more protein it is.

B - Hot oat bran with whey protein
S - Apple + PB
L - Curried lentil soup
S - Baked pumpkin a la Cathe Cookbook. My skin is turning orange from all the Vitamin A/beta carotene!!
D - ?? Maybe a fish stew if I can muster up the energy to cook, otherwise...?? Probably popcorn (popped oil free in Microwave popper w/ 1 tbs. olivio spread)

+ an estimated 72 cups of coffee and 28 cups of sugar free hot chocolate to keep me awake/warm/sweet tooth satisfied
 
Okay, I'm back and vaguely awake. Very vaguely.

B - cereal with banana and soy milk, 1/2 WW English muffin with PB
S - steel cut oats and raisins with soy milk
L - Toasted WW sammich with cheese and avocado (I'm running out of food at home:p)
S - Cottage cheese and pineapple
D - I'm having the leftover no clue from yesterday;)
 
Good Morning Ladies I did good all day yesturday til hubby came home with COOKIE DOUGH !!! We baked them off and I ate 3 !! They were little !!! My family ate the rest thank goodness !So today is a new day !!! I will let you know how I do later .Have great days !
 
G'mooooorning ladies! How's is everyone?:) Well and kickin ass as usual I hope! ;-) Here's what my plan looks like:
B-Oatmeal with veggie sausages
L-Canned chicken in a veggie loaded salad
S-turkey slices and yogurt
D-Chicken soup
 
Okay, I've been really proud of myself because I've had a busy week with lots of running around and eating on the go, yet I've managed to keep it pretty clean...until last night--(fooky!). I had to pick DH up from work and we stopped at a new restaurant for dinner. I had a great salad of greens with red onions and ornage slices and a light citrus dressing, followed by a (and this is where it goes downhill) pasta entree. It wasn't that bad, it's just that it was a lot of pasta. It was served with a light tomato sauce and chunks of grilled chicken. I didn't quite finish it. I really screwed up though and ordered a dessert that my hubby and I split. It was a warm chocolate chip cookie with vanilla ice cream and hot fudge sauce.:eek::9 :px(

So, I present myself to you for flogging.:(

I haven't planned my meals for today yet. Again, I'll be running around and eating out, but I swear I'll keep it clean.;-)

Nope. I drink about 72 oz. of water (literally this time!) at work during the day and about as much during my work outs.

I should own toilet paper stock. :D

There's a woman at the office who calls me her "bathroom buddy" because she thinks it's a coincidence that we run into each other in the bathroom all the time. I don't have the heart to tell her it's actually because I'm in there every 5 minutes! :p

S-carrots, sugarsnap peas, ff dill dip
D-Leftover vegetable shrimp over spaghetti squash
S-yogurt w/granola

Hi Sarah,

I thought it was a very easy read. A lot easier than many of the other books I've read on insulin and metabolism. It helps explain the carbohydrate/insulin/fat connection and goes on to explain other hormone/weight relationships.

The book has helped me understand why it's so tough for me to lose weight why I have no energy. In a nutshell I messed up my metabolism and hormone balance thanks to years of very low calorie dieting, anti-depressants (namely prozac), too little protein and too many carbs.

She makes a lot of sense, and for the first time in a long time I feel like there's hope that I can lose the weight, increase my energy level, and fight PMS without prozac.

Let me know what you think after reading it. BTW, the last 1/2 is recipes etc., so it's also a quick read.

Michelle, Hope you enjoyed that yummy desset. Consider it a carboloading day and don't beat yourself up.

one small piece of chocolate each day (unless I have pie)

Today was a rest day for me. Sat I plan on one of the IMAX's and Sun will be ME.
