I am sure that you found info in the searches but I figured I would go ahead and add a little extra. I am a figure competitor and believe me - I HAVE to know clean eating. The food doesnt necessarily have to be organic but clean eating is based on eating things that are not processed.
*Basically you NEED to eat 5-6 times a day (every 2-3 hours). There is no way around it as it keeps your metabolism working.
*Each meal should contain a complex carbohydrate (limit these in the late afternoon or night unless you workout then), a protein, and occasionally some healthy fats (not every meal).
-GOOD CARBS: oatmeal (plain or Weight Control by Quaker), whole wheat tortillas/pitas/bread(limit bread), sweet potato, brown rice, Kashi Golean cereal, VEGGIES VEGGIES VEGGIES, fruits (limit to earlier in day b/c high natural sugar content)
-GOOD PROTEIN SOURCES: egg whites, whey protein powder, boneless skinless chicken breast, 99%fatfree ground turkey, top round beef (95% fat free), fish (salmon, tilapia, orange roughy, shrimp), fat free dairy products (limit as much as possible as these cause bloating in most people)
-GOOD FATS: natural peanut butter, unsalted nuts, olive oil, fatty fish (salmon/tuna), flaxseed (not my fave)
*Drink LOTS of water, green tea, and BLACK coffee. Doing these things will also help boost your metabolism.
*Eating clean healthy foods like this will boost your metabolism...so keep calories between 1400-1800. Never drop too low.
This may seem bland but you can always add a little kick with things like salsa, sugar free/low calorie jellies and syrups, herbs/seasonings, stevia sweetener (more natural), etc.
As mentioned Tosca Reno's Eat Clean Diet Book would be an excellent starting point and there is even a Eat Clean Diet Cookbook she is coming out with which would be even more helpful. Also, here is a link to a message board at Oxygen Magazine's website that lists out a bunch of clean food items. Hope it works.
