Morning girls,

Sorry I didn't check in yesterday - just got busy. Took girls to their respective dance/gym classes and then out to lunch with my friend Rebekah and then she spent the afternoon here so the day just got away from me.

This morning was plyo cardio circuit. Only 2 more days until the end of month 1! I've never stuck with a rotation for an entire month without missing a day! I'm thrilled and so motivated to get through the 2nd month!

Eats yesterday were slightly disastrous. I was starving all day and just kept eating but honestly the only "bad" thing I ate was 2 pieces of chocolate that our guest brought us from Versailles - it's from Bruge and it's absolutely amazing. My goal is one piece a day. Hold me to it.

No time for personals right now - I gotta shower and get the kids to school. I'm taking our guest around today so I prob won't be around much. He leaves Sat morning...

Have a great day everyone!

Morning Angie!

I am busy and in a hurry and lacking in personals and updates today also - gotta run a couple miles before hitting the PT's office by 730, work by hopefully 830 - TONS to do today!

I'll check in when I can!

Good morning ladies!

I had to PRY myself off my bed this morning!

Angie, You are doing so good w/ Insanity! We are PROUD of you!
One chocolate a day! When are you going to eat it? I eat a piece of Dove dk choc every night after dinner.:)

Katie, Have a great run and I hope the PT visit goes well!

Normal kinda day here... with the girls bus schedules and Julia's naps it makes it very hard to GO anywhere. Guess I'll save a lot of money this way!:p

Tonight we have the school open house & ice cream social to go to. I will not eat ANY ice cream. NONE. It would be full fat and feel gross in my mouth. RIGHT!?!?!?!?!?!!!!!

Good morning !!

Back to the dentist today.......2 more hours. But hopefully that takes care of it.
Rest day on my rotation but I'm thinking yoga and abs.

Angie, the chocolate sounds wonderful.
Katie, way to go on getting so much done so early !!
Kate, I LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEE Dove dark chocolate, and for a while I was eating one a day too ! I still have a bag in my freezer ! Have you made hot chocolate melting 2 pieces with warmed non-fat milk ? SO GOOD !! :) :)
Ice cream is my downfall. I'd probably cave in .
I mean, it's an ice cream social. You wanna be social,.................RIGHT ???:D

Have a great Thursday!
Becky

robin, im still jealous of your new cs!:D

good morning. i had to drag myself out of bed too, but i had a good outdoor sweaty run. i am feeling good from the clean eats the last few days, and today will be another clean day. no time for personals, but i will be back.

kate, have a great day! katie, how often is pt?

angie, you are doing great!

Morning! I don't know how you ladies get up so early every day and actually function, much less work out! I got up early to shower cause we're going to a meet and greet at Nevena's school at 9 am. And it was tough! And who do I see when I come out-Nevena and Milla-they were channeling your girls Kate! So no quiet coffee today. Will do cardio later-I think kickbox and some abs. We have Meet the Teacher night tonight too-no ice cream thank goodness!

Angie, no worries on the personals! Great job on Insanity! One piece of chocolate is fine-even beneficial;) Just really savor it-small bites and let it melt in your mouth.

Katie, have a great run!

Kate, that was my schedule exactly last year-couldn't go anywhere for more than an hour or two and that was if I managed to be ready in time! This year I think I'm going to try to take a kickbox class at the Y while Nevena's in school on Thursdays. I won't look pretty picking her up but that's ok. I'll just have to invest in some really cute new workout clothes, right?;)

Becky, good luck today!

Robin, great job on CS this morning!

I'm getting ready to eat my protein pancake. Patti ......for fall (even though I'm in denial that it's almost here .......) I'm adding a little cinnamon & vanilla and topping it with yummy apple butter. Its awesome !!!

I did KPC abs and 30 minutes of weight loss yoga !

Tomorrow's Friday !!!!!! YAYYYYYY!!!!!! :) :)

Becky

Becky, NIce wo!! I'm looking forward to mine!
YUM breakfast! I'm kind of excited for fall. Our walnut trees have a lot of leaves that have fallen already and it's so pretty outside. I love Michigan's 4 seasons.
I hear ya on Friday! I love when Mike is home.:)

Klaudia, That class sounds great. I love group classes for cardio.
Don't worry abt being sweaty at pick up! Maybe you'll inspire some if the other mamas to join you!

Nina, Have a great day and try to do something nice for yourself - besides workout!
^5 on high motivation!

Hey girls,

Guests are my downfall to healthy eating! I've been taking our friend around and being lured into the patisseries and such and we're going out to dinner tomorrow, we've had desserts and I'm just going to not indulge but yet not totally avoid since it will all be over on Saturday and I can go full force for the next 5 weeks since we have no interruptions!

Anyway, Kate, you can avoid ice cream. It's never that good. Save your cheats for something worth while!

Becky, hope all your teeth woes are over after today! Great WO!

Morning Katie, hope your day isn't too crazy. LEt us know how PT goes.

Nina, glad you are having a decent morning after you run. Somehow makes it all better doesn't it?

Klaudia, the KB class sounds all sorts of fun. I'm jealous!

Robin, YAY on the energy! Feels so good to get it done, doesn't it?

Tomorrow is my last pure cardio/abs day. And then another double on saturday (i say double but one of the WOs is cardio recovery so it doesn't really count) then we start the recovery week next monday!

OK... off to call my sis and put laundry away!

BBL

hey angie! when cheats are "unavoidable" just go pc and keep meals exra clean. you are doing awesome!!!

becky, good luck at the dentist.

not going to be able to do 1pm wo. repairman for hot tub LATE. will do wo tonight, which m likes better anyway. helps him to wo if i am @ the same time. maybe i can get abs in now...

What a beautiful late summer day! Just got back from a walk with Nevena-she rode her bike:) Had a big tossed salad for lunch and honey wheat pretzels and a banana for my morning snack. Nevena had fun at the meet and greet and took another nap! Hopefully it'll be just as easy on Tuesday when I drop her off! Still need to work out.

Angie, guests and vacations are everyone's downfall!

Kate, you cook more in a day than I do in a whole week! I love Gorgonzola! It's a blue cheese, so it's kinda strong.

Nina, glad things are quiet with dh. Have fun with your fellas!

klaudia, cooking is my therapy.:)
yummy eats! wtg you!
glad nevena did well! always a relief!

nina, i have to type out the zuke recipe (no link) so i prob wont get to it til tonight. sorry!

kl, you wanted cornbread recipes..... here they come

Sweet Corn Spoonbread
Serves 6

You will need 3 or 4 ears of corn to yield 2 cups of kernels. See page 31 for more information about removing corn kernels from the cobs. Frozen corn can be substituted for the fresh, provided it is thawed and well drained.

1 cup cornmeal
2 3/4 cups whole milk
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 cups corn kernels (see note)
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
3 large eggs , separated
1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
1. Adjust oven rack to middle position and heat oven to 400 degrees. Grease 1 1/2-quart soufflé dish or 8-inch-square baking dish. Whisk cornmeal and 3/4 cup milk in bowl until combined; set aside.

2. Melt butter in Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Cook corn until beginning to brown, about 3 minutes. Stir in remaining milk, sugar, salt, and cayenne and bring to boil. Remove from heat, cover, and let mixture steep 15 minutes.

3. Transfer warm corn mixture to blender or food processor and puree until smooth. Return corn mixture to pot and bring to boil. Reduce heat to low and add cornmeal mixture, whisking constantly, until thickened, 2 to 3 minutes; transfer to large bowl and cool to room temperature, about 20 minutes. Once mixture is cool, whisk in egg yolks until combined.

4. With electric mixer on medium-low speed, beat egg whites and cream of tartar until frothy, about 1 minute. Increase speed to medium-high and beat until stiff peaks form, about 3 minutes. Whisk one-third of whites into corn mixture, then gently fold in remaining whites until combined. Scrape mixture into prepared dish and transfer to oven. Reduce oven temperature to 350 degrees and bake until spoonbread is golden brown and risen above rim of dish, about 45 minutes. Serve immediately.

Individual Spoonbreads: To make individual spoonbreads, prepare recipe as directed and divide batter among 6 greased 7-ounce ramekins. Arrange ramekins on rimmed baking sheet and bake as directed, reducing cooking time to 30 to 35 minutes

cornmeal Biscuits
Makes 12 biscuits

If you don’t have buttermilk, whisk 1 tablespoon lemon juice into 1¼ cups of milk and let it stand until slightly thickened, about 10 minutes. Avoid coarsely ground cornmeal, which makes gritty biscuits.

1 cup cornmeal
1 1/4 cups buttermilk
1 tablespoon honey
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
12 tablespoons unsalted butter , cut into 1/2-inch pieces and chilled
1. SOAK CORNMEAL Adjust oven rack to middle position and heat oven to 450 degrees. Line baking sheet with parchment paper. Whisk cornmeal, buttermilk, and honey in large bowl; let sit 10 minutes.

2. PROCESS DOUGH Pulse flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and butter in food processor until mixture resembles coarse meal. Add to bowl with buttermilk mixture and stir until dough forms.

3. KNEAD Turn dough out onto lightly floured surface and knead until smooth, 8 to 10 times. Pat dough into 9-inch circle, about ¾ inch thick. Using 2½-inch biscuit cutter dipped in flour, cut out rounds (dipping cutter in flour after each cut) and transfer to prepared baking sheet. Gather remaining dough and pat into ¾-inch-thick circle. Cut rounds from dough and transfer to baking sheet.

4. BAKE Bake until biscuits begin to rise, about 5 minutes, and then reduce oven temperature to 400 degrees and bake until golden brown, 8 to 12 minutes more. Let cool 5 minutes on sheet, then transfer to wire rack. Serve warm or let cool to room temperature. (Biscuits can be stored in airtight container at room temperature for 2 days.)
