CIA tapes....anybody?

Hi,

I have never done any of the CIA tapes before. I checked their web site. I found that only the 9000 series onwards are available. Where can I find the older series?
I want good Hi/lo tapes, would 9801, 9803, 9807, 9809 be a good choice? (a set of 4 is available for $50).
Are there any other sources for these tapes?
Thanks in advance for any advice.

CIA tapes

I've gotten some of the older CIA tapes off of e-bay and you could try the VideoFitness exchange. I have 9801 and 9807. They are both good tapes. 9801 is extremely complex and will take several tries to master. 9807 is taught by two sisters who do a very good job switching leads. I don't know anything about the other tapes. Have you checked out the reviews at videofitness? Some other sources for CIA tapes are online at G & R videos and College(both catelog and on line), but your best deal usually is to get the quantity discount from CIA. Hope this helps. Leslie

A lot are still for sale at CIA

April, before you head off to E-Bay and parts unknown, you might want to either post about the availability of the video you're interested in on the CIA forum, or you could email Greg Twombly of CIA directly. (His email address is posted on their web site.) A lot of the older tapes are still for sale -- CHEAP -- he just doesn't include them in his on-line catalog.

Have you tried Collage? They are online at www.collagevideo.com. 1-800-433-6769. They have everything except 9809.

Older CIA's

One of my absolute favorite tapes EVER is CIA 2003. It contains a tough 60 minute step section (non-dancy, including, for instance, lengthy lunge segments, pushups etc.) as well as a good HI/LO segment.

I've owned the tape for years, never see it advertised in Collage (or anywhere) and incorporate it into my workouts at least once a week. I'd never trade it and probably will need a replacement copy in a few years. I hope CIA will still produce it.(LOL)

RE:9801. Christi's 9801 is pure art; however, I traded it after a week or two. Unless you have lots of time to learn the complex choreography, you probably won't get a decent "workout" from the tape for quite awhile. (There's just too much rewinding and fiddling around involved to get your heart rate up.)

You might be happier with some of the 2K tapes. By all means, check out the reviews on VF before making any decisions.
