Hi Christi! I tried to send you an instant message but your profile isn't activated.

I wanted to let you know I answered your question just now in another thread, but I'm not sure if you saw it. I'll post it again here.

You wrote:

Christi, that is GREAT! What town are you from? I will try and google something and let you know if I find anything. I'm sure there is a running training group in your area with all kinds of links to nearby races and runs. Just let me know and I will try and help you find something.

You can send me an instant message or email me through my profile if you want to talk about it off line.

I hope this isn't a stupid question, but how do I activate my profile? I'm from Troy, MI. The biggest cities I'm close to are Warren, and Detroit.

P.S. I have no (and I mean none) experience running. How do I even start training?

I found a great link!!! It's called www.runmichigan.com!! Check it out!!!

Here's the direct link to some running clubs near you!

I found this one for the Detroit area and surrouning suburbs:

Runners and walkers of all ages meeting after work at locations in Detroit and suburbs.

URL: http://www.downtownrunners.com

Here is where you can contact them: http://downto.hostme.com/Who_We_Are.htm

Running clubs have all kinds of running training schedules for beginners and long time runners. :) Anyone can start running. You just have to get a check up and okay from your doctor first.

Here is a link to some races near Troy, MI from active.com

I'm not sure about activating your profile. Try clicking on User Menu at the top of this screen and look for "Profile"? I think that should lead you in the right direction?

Feel free to ask me anything! I'm happy to help. :)

You can email me too at nick21496 at yahoo dot com!

If you want to train for the 5K (3mile) race on your own, this link is AWESOME!!!! It's Hal Higdon's beginner 5K training schedule.

http://www.halhigdon.com/5K Training/5-Knovice.htm

Just scroll down and you will find the schedule. YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please keep me posted, okay?

>I will, I may have to sart with a 3 mile though. LOL!

Great! That 5K is equivalent to 3 miles. :) 3.2 miles = 5K. I'm so excited for you!
