Choreography of Intensity Series - CW, BC and IM2?

Most people love The Intensity Series especially on DVD. The Cardio and Weights, Boot Camp and IM2 look good to me but I am wondering about the choreography. I just cannot get Cathe's complicated choreography - All Step and Rhythmic Step make me cry! My first Cathe tape was Wedding Video after that, I ordered the entire CTX Series with Circuit Max/Cardio Kicks.

Is Cardio and Weights, Boot Camp, and Interval Max2 as complicated as CTX-All Step and Rhythmic Step? Also, is the Terminator DVD highly recommended? Thanks for all the help!

Well, I would say that Cardio & Weights choreo equates to that of CTX All STep in terms of variety of moves, but I have to say, that there's not much that is new in C&W. SO if you have done some ealier Cathe step and the CTX stuff, C&W will not be a problem for you. I don't think it is rushed, at least that is my perception. It is an easier video than CTX All STep, and everything gets repeated a lot.

Imax 2 is more intense than difficult choreography to me. The difficulty does not lie in the variety of moves to master, but in the ability to move with intensity between 2 activities during the blast, rather than repeating the one ad nauseum as per Imax 1.

If you find Cathe's choreography tough because of the combinations of moves, you might try different instructors such as Mindy Mylrea and Gin Miller, both of whom deliver on the intensity that is desired, with much more straight-forward, athletic moves.

Maybe some of this will help? Have you tried the video clips?

Hey Dawn! You can do all three of these! I have two left feet....and have NEVER done Allstep, nor would I ever try, since I have read so many scary things aboout it. But C&W, Boot Camp, and Imax2 are all doable even for us folks whose feet seem to get all twisted around each other and fly off the step. Boot Camp is the easiest in terms of the moves themselves, since you just do one move(or a simple combination)for a minute....oooh but what a minute. Cardio and Weights is just plain fun(did that last night and I smiled all the way through) Imax2 is just plain tough. I have yet to conquer that one. The only other Cathe cardio I ever conquered was Step Heat, and I did not even like it. I have the CTX series, but I got hooked on the kicbox tape, so I very rarely use the others. But the IS cardio is just plain fun! Take care and have no fear, Donna.

Hi Dawn! I'm a total klutz when it comes to step work, and that's one of the reasons I prefer to workout at home - LOL! It took me a few tries to get through Rhythmic Step, and I still have trouble with some of the choreography. The rest of her videos I've figured out most of the routines, but it took me a few times. Don't despair!! I just do my own thing if I can't figure out what they're doing, and I try the next time to get it down right. As long as you're moving, you're still working out!! I really LOVE all of Cathe's workouts, and I'm so grateful I finally found her!! Have fun with them, and one day you'll be doing one of the step routines and realize you've figured it out without even trying!

Thanks everyone for encouraging me to buy the whole set :) I just maxed out my credit card for Body Blast and now I have to order another set! Not complaining though because my small Cathe collection is so worth it :)

Thanks Donna for telling me that I don't have to be a pro in All Step and Rhythmic Step to be able to do the Intensity Series. I was really hoping the moves will be athletic and moderate. I don't mind high intensity at all.

Until now, I still couldn't get the steps of All Step and Rhythmic Step. I have finally accepted that I will always be a complicated choreography klutz.

Anyway, I'm so excited for the new series too! Couldn't wait :)
