(((Chinups/Pullups/Whatever Your Pleasure)))

Morning Ladies!

I did Disc 20 Legs and what a difference the versagripps made! I used 37.5# DB's for my narrow squats and no forearm fatigue at all:) Can't wait to use them for BB rows and DL's.

Catherine- So when are you planning to start STS? I'm curious to see what you think of it.

Linda- Nice workout! I'm only doing chins/pulls once per week during the back/bicep W/O's and I still have to use the band for assistance. I can still only eek out a couple without help:mad:

Judi, nice job on those squats.

As far as when I'll start STS,... I don't know for sure but I am thinking May. I think I am askeered

I did Lauren Brooks kb w/o this evening with chinups between rounds. I did 5 sets of 4 regular grip and then went wider and did 1,2,2,&2. I was spent

This morning I did Amy's ASC 3 Intense NRG Premix. Workout was 59 minutes and burned 502 calories, same as yesterday.

Wow, I really feel those chin ups from yesterday in my back. Also had some pain in inside of my lower left leg this morning. I feel like I am falling apart.

Catherine - I may be getting another client. This one has been doing P90X and is no longer seeing results. Is there anything I should know about that program in order to design something new for them?

That's great news Linda!! I wonder how long this person has been doing P90x? I think as with anything the body can start to adapt or maybe they are just not pushing themselves hard enough. I am sure you can break that plateau!!

Today was a rest day for me. I have my kb session with Katie tomorrow instead of Sat.

Catherine - That's what I'm thinking. That they have been doing p90X for awhile and have no idea what to do now. BTW, it's a man.

Today was the last day of CardioAcceleration rotation and I COULD NOT be happier.:D:D:D:D I am tired of all the running!:p May even take tomorrow off in addition to Sunday, as a little break before starting Tabata Training with Debbie.

Started w/ 4 DS HIS through first blast. One minute runs between sets.

BACK
DB Row
12/10/10 - 40's (up 2 reps on 1st set)
BO SA DB Lat Pull
12/12/12 - 20's (stayed at 20's for 3rd set, was dropping before)
DB Pullover
20/16/15 - 40# ( up 2 reps 1st set, 1 rep 2nd set)

BICEPS

DB Curls
12/12/10 -25's (up 2 reps 2nd set)
Incline DB Curls
12/12 - 20's
8/4 - 20's/15's ( was doing 3rd set at 15's, but started w/ 20's but only made 8 reps so finished with 15's)

Then stretch from 4 DS HIS.
Back was still sore from the chins the other day.:D

Linda, your back and biceps are smokin' Starting tabata huh? I am not that brave

Judi, are ya out there?? Hope you are well.

This morning I had a session with Katie. We actually spent the first hour filming stuff. She is working on some sort of Functional Mobility Screening certification and I am her case study. I put on my pretty w/o clothes LOL!! Then we did a kb session. This afternoon I did LIC step and some pullups. I don't do pullups much anymore but I did singles for a total of 9 unassisted then I did widegrip with a band 3 and then 5. My foot is still acting up and so I have scheduled my MRI. Forgot that I have a $1000 deductable to meet before my insurance kicks in :( Now I am rethinking what I want to do.

Today was back and biceps (disc 21) and I did 10 pullups using the "light" band, 12 chinups and 10 more pullups using the medium band. My barbell rows are up to 78#s...very challenging but doable. Biceps are still a work in progress:confused:

Linda- I'm loving my versagripps but I wanted to ask if you only use them when going very heavy. I'm concerned about losing forearm strength if I rely on them too much. What do you think?

Catherine- Great job on the pullups! 9 unassisted:eek: WTG! I forced myself to do wide grip on my final set today...I hate those:mad: Sorry that your foot is still bothersome but I'm glad to hear you scheduled an MRI. I hear ya about the insurance. We have a health savings plan and must pay the first $4000 before insurance kicks in.

Judi, nice job with your pulls and chins. Just to clarify, I did 9 singles. About 20-30 sec rest between reps. For some reason I hate BB rows. 78 pounds is great!!

:confused:on your deductible I don't feel so bad now. The good news is I never got my 4rth quater productivity for some reason and I just asked about it the other day. It was simply overlooked. So that will help We still are doing clean up from the ice storm too and have to pay a professional to come and take down a tree- more $$$$***sigh***

9 unassisted singles are still great!!;)

When it comes to health insurance, we can't AFFORD to get sick/hurt:confused:. With four of us needing coverage and being in relatively good health, we opted for the high deductible plan but it just plain sucks sometimes.

Wow, I feel spoiled with my insurance. I pay $15 to see my regular doctor and $30 to see a specialist. You guys need to stay well and unhurt.

Both of you great job on the chins and pulls!

Catherine
- A case study huh? I always knew you were special! Thanks for the compliment on the Back and Biceps. Oh, and Debbie talked me into the Tabata. She's doing it now and loving it.

Judi - 78# for the rows is great! On the Versagripps, I only use mine when I using a weight I cannot hold. Although sometimes I will use them when holding heavy DB for lunges so I can keep my focus on my legs and not be thinking about the fact that my arms feel like they are going to fall off.:p

This morning I did an unenthusiastic Double Cardio from 4DS doing HIS first then LIS. Was surprised to find I burned 412 calories anyway. Workout was 56 minutes.

I have some imbalances that we are trying to figure out. So I guess I am special LOL!!

I thought you were taking a rest day today :p

I did STS disc 3 (legs) today and half of Strike Zone.

I think Judi is kicking butt with STS

Well, I think I might be officially starting STS  I did disc 1 chest shoulders and biceps. I have to say I am fried. My 1 rm was all over the place in terms of accuracy  Some things I went lighter with, some heavier and only a few were right on spot. And the pushups  I don't even want to talk about them. The workout goes so fast and I found that I had to pause to get set up even though my weights were there ready. That was a bit frustrating. Till I realized that Cathe uses a chair and I don't have one. So I was constantly rearranging my step from incline back to bench to use it as a chair. Great workout. I just wish I could have performed better

Hope you all are having a good sunday!!

That's why I don't get on the scales

LOL!! Me neither:eek: Unfortunately, I have my annual exam on Thursday so I'm preparing for the shock! I'll blame it on STS and all that muscle I've been working on:rolleyes:

Catherine- Woo Hoo! Glad to hear you started STS. Sounds like you experienced 1RM issues like I did. I got really frustrated (as you know from all my posting about it:eek:) and I think with the workouts, we are dealing with much more muscle failure than we did while testing. I also had to pause the w/o many times because Cathe really moves quickly with little rest.

Linda- I googled Tabata training. Is it basically really intense interval training? How does strength training fit in? You'll have to keep us informed on how it goes. I got more than a few pounds to lose:(

I think that's a good approach ;)

Judi, are you doing the 3 1/2 month or 6 1/2 month STS rotation? I am just no sure I could do 6 months. I may repeat it after I am done, but would like to do something else for a bit first.

I'm doing the 3 1/2 month rotation. After, I plan to take a break from STS to switch things up, bring back kettlebells, maybe another round of P90X before I do a second round of STS.

This coming week is my last of Meso 2. I assume things will get really interesting after the recovery week:eek:.

I actually have a bit of DOMS creeping up on me :cool: Mostly shoulders and biceps, just a little in the chest. Guess I didn't do enough pushups
