chinup checkin Thurs 05/18

Kathryn, I would kill to be able to do a nose-up! But I understand it must feel like you're not moving forward. Like Catherine said, it'll be touch and go before they become more consistent. I think you're doing incredibly well.:)

Kathryn, I am right there with ya on the frustration wagon!! I guess Rome wasn't built in a day, so I shouldn't expect to be doing 10 chinups yet either. Even though right now I'd be happy with 3 x(

I worked out hard 6 days last week, so I decided to go easy today. I did Power Half Hour abs and the PHH stretch. And I feel like I haven't done anything. I keep feeling like I need to get up and do something else. Does anyone else feel that way when they take a "light day"?

It's been a beautiful weekend here. I hope everyone is doing well. Oh and next weekend is a holiday-Yipee!!!! Something to look forward to.

I just had to visit you gals.

I worked out yesterday, ME, but no chinup negatives or inverted rows cause...ta dum...I cut my hand all the way across the palm while cutting sweet potates in half for my famous sweet potato soup. I grabbed the bar and hung, but that "pull" felt alot different than simply lifting weights in the ME workout. So no go.

I'm feeling the no progress, going backward pain with you Sooosan and Kathryn.

On a lighter note, the strep issue is much better.:)

Oh, Melody, that's all you need right now! (I hope the soup turned out good at least.) Just kiddding! I'm so sorry this happened to you. That kind of injury interferes with everything, not just pull-ups. I hope it heals quickly.

I did HSTA today and, for some reason, I barely made it. To me, this is usually a fairly "easy" workout so I was surprised. Maybe I'm just tired. I'll be doing chin-ups tomorrow and maybe some power yoga.

Good night everyone!:)

Ow ow ow! (though "yum" for the soup!). Sounds like something that will take a while to heal.

I have very few scars, but most of them are from kitchen mishaps: cutting myself when trying to saw a plastic bottle in half for some reason I forget, and having the knife move while I was doing the sawing motion and move up to my finger; burns from reaching into the oven and having my forearm touch the hot rack right above where the potholder ended.

I remember a scene in one of the (what were those Mel Gibson cop movies?) where Mel Gibson's character and his love interest compare scars from all their adventures. I can just see me : "and this one, I got when preparing a batch of cookies." This one is from trying to make a temporary vase to transport cut flowers from my garden in."

Much more 'domestic' than adventurous, LOL!

Oh Melody, sorry to hear about your hand. Some people will do anything to get out of chinups LOL!!! This is why DH doesn't let me near sharp objects :+

Catherine

Did we not have a Friday checkin???? I'm confused, but since we are all still posting here....I will too!

Soosan...thanks for sharing your story. How incredibly sweet, she will never forget this!!

All the sudden I've been feeling stronger again. Goes in waves, weak to strong, strong to weak. Can't figure it out. I did the GS BSB yesterday, but before it I did a set of 12 chins. I did the happy dance. Then I did a set of 10 and then went to 7 and then 6 and then did wide front pullup negatives - maybe 3 of them. When I did GS, I felt much weaker though. HB says I am using lots of BICEP to get up to that bar, but when I was doing 35# curls with Cathe - I felt like it was really tough. Normally these aren't too bad. I think my bi's were prefatigued from chins. Some days it's there, somedays it's NOT! I did eat a donut yesterday - actually I made whole wheat donuts for coffee break at church this morning and had a few of them as well.

Catherine...I did ab work two days in a row. I think my first step was to admit I had a problem (prior post). "I'm not doing ab work". Now I can deal with the problem. I'm now doing more ab work. You guys are great therapy for me!!!!;) ;) ;)

Melody...glad you are feeling better!! Being sick is NOT fun! You'll be doing chins in no time.
