Chinup Check In August 30

Hey Chins! Glad to see so much activity!

Melody, I know you're glad to be home and I've been thinking about Wil ever since I read your post in OD. I hope he gets some pain relief soon and that you all can get some rest.

Catherine, the storm was a lot worse than we expected, but nothing compared to Hurricane Isabel in 2003, although we got more rain this time than Isabel. I don't think I've ever seeen so much rain! We lost power around noon yesterday - right after I finished PUB and 1/2 Yoga X, luckily :) - and I was sure we wouldn't get it back until at least Monday, but lo and behold, it came back on at 4:30!:) Thanks for thinking of me.

Adri, gymnasts are notorious for being able to do zillions of pull-ups; I'm unfortunately going to have to add you to the ranks of all the other gymnasts I'm not speaking to.:p

Hey, that's it! Maybe I'll become a gymnast, and then I'll be able to finally do a pull-up!

Briee, how could we ever have thought you had gone AWOL, when all you did was go speeding off to Great America with 13 teenagers, wreaking havoc by illegally doing dips at all the turnstyles. (I don't even want to think about how else you were leading these innocent children astray.)

I did something to my darn upper back again yesterday, either during PUB or Yoga X (it COULDN'T have been yoga, though.) I really don't know what I did because I didn't feel anything unusual during the workouts, but the pain kept waking me up all night, and it feels really sore this morning - worse than the rhomboid thing I had earlier this year. I hate to admit it, but I feel my body's starting to age this year. I NEVER used to get injured, and this year I seem to be tweaking things at the drop of a hat. It's not that the pain from these minor injuries is debilitating, it just keeps setting my workouts back! ARGGH!

Janie, Joanne, HB, waving a big hello!:)

Morning!!

Sooosan- Thats too bad about your back. My guess is that you hurt it during PUB because how can you hurt your back in yoga, I mean unless you breath too hard to the point where it stresses your back:p :pLOL

Hope everyone else has a great day!! Talk to you all later;-)

Laugh and the world laughs with you. Cry and you cry with your girlfriends.

Oh Adri...I thought you sounded young...you are like the baby of the chinners. I'm so glad you are joining us....a breath of fresh air!!! Keep on chinnin and you'll be chinnin forever girl!!! Should have come to Great America with us kiddo!!!

BUT we have a few things to discuss here. Like...what do you mean you don't eat donuts...have you ever TRIED a donut. I think we have an assignment for you this week in between your 4 hour gymnast sessions...find a donut and eat it. Then report back and we'll go from there. You are FAR too sweet of a person to have NEVER eaten a donut. I have faith in you. ALSO...it is almost certain that Sooooooooooooosan hurt her back in YOGA, not PUB, probably from a nasty crane fall, or a stuck wheelbarrow, and it quite possibly all could have been avoided had she have preceeded the workout with a donut.....and what am I doing chatting about yoga anyway...you guys roped me into that one. I'm outta here!! }( }( }( }( :p :p :p :p

Sooooooooooooosan...I AM very sorry that you hurt your back. That back thing is a bugger. Keep trying to do a P90Xish type stretch preceeding ALL back work. I know, boring but effective!. Lots of ballistic stretching too. Maybe give up Yoga for the month. (couldn't help myself).

I hate to admit it, but I really do think the injury happened during yoga, and probably during shoulderstand because the pain starts in my neck, and I think I was trying a little too hard to get my back straighter during that pose yesterday.x(
