(((((((CHINTASTICA)))))))

Quick hello to you ladies. I doubt I will w/o today. When I get off work I am heading to the hospital to stay the night with my cousin. She's doing well, but it has spread to the lymph nodes :( At her age(88) they are not really pushing chemo or radiation nor does she want it.

Judi, sorry to hear about your daughter-ugggghh!! Thanks for your encouraging words.

Linda, all I can say is "work work" ;)

More prayers to you and yours Catherine!

Okay, I got the other workout in. I went outside and did CC4 and half way through I caught in the rain. That was a first, running in the rain, and kinda fun I have to admit.:D Workout was 42 minutes and I burned 425 calories for a total of 947 calories today.:D Gosh, you'd think this weight would have to start coming off soon!:(

Judi, I have to admit your meltdown with your DD made me smile, but only because here you are fighting about college issues and I am at the point where I am stressing over full day kindergarten with my DD.:p:p:p:p:p

Well, I guess it doesn't matter how old they are, we still experience meltdowns with them;) It was really hard sending DD off to kindergarten and starting to let go. NOW, I really want to let go but she's making it impossible!

Today was Meso 2 Disc 15 Back & Biceps. Workout was 1 hour and I burned 308 calories. Then I did CCV2 revised outside for another 50 minutes and 500 calories. Today's total 808 calories.

Linda, that looks like a good chinning day to me :) Nice numbers too for the rest of the weights.

Judi and Linda, thank you both for the thoughts and prayers. She is doing remarkably well. When I showed up Thursday she thought it was just to visit. I told her no that I was there to "shack up with ya honey" She just grinned from ear to ear. I said it was gonna be a slumber party and it sort of was. We talked, we laughed, we cried and did it all over again. She lost her husband back late last year. I am amazed at how strong she is. She is a nurse and was my inspiration to become a nurse. I am tearing up just thinking about how much she really means to me. Today she will be transferred to a rehab facility. My sister is with her right now and will make sure things go well.

Since I was up all night Thursday (hard to sleep in a recliner in the hospital) I didn't workout yesterday. This morning I did MM upper body premix followed by an experiment of CCV2 on the treadmill. I haven't been on the TM for years  I wanted to see how the foot did. I took it easy and paced myself, but actually jogged a bit and no problems- at least not yet. I am just happy to have got in a workout!!!!!!

Catherine- How sweet of you to stay the night with your cousin. I'm glad to hear she is doing well. She is very lucky to have you in her life!

Woo Hoo on the TM walk/jog with NO FOOT PROBLEMS. That is a great sign and I hope it continues for you:)

Linda- I would take out an ad in the local paper to brag if I could do that many unassisted chin ups! I'm still struggling with banging out 2-3:mad: I swear they do NOT get any easier.

I'm thinking I might continue along with STS but not be so anal about the #'s. Rather, I'll lift what my w/o card calls for but if it is too much, I'll just drop down and not get so frustrated about it.

Have a great weekend Ladies!

I think that's smart Judi. Just know that you are pushing yourself and the numbers don't matter so much. I think I'll restart STS (hopefully) in October.

LMAO at your comment about taking an add in the paper to announce the chinups :D

Actually, I am lucky to have her in my life!!

The TM was a good sign. I don't want to push it. I did flare it a bit with 4ds leg work the other day- I think the front squats with plates under the heels put to much pressure on the forefoot. So I must pay attention to anything that aggravates it and be smart ;)

Hello ladies!! Where the heck does the weekend go? I just finished GSL (didn't do all of the floor work). Followed by CCV4 on the stationary. My first time wih V4 & I really liked it. However, it was tough after GSL

I hope to kick back and be lazy the rest of today now :p

More bad news today :( My husband's brother has prostate cancer. I don't know any details/staging. I do know that he is getting a bone scan on Wed. This is the brother who had the brain hemorrhage last year and started having seizures earlier this year. His mom is so emotionally unstable for various reasons and also dealing with his dad having Myasthenia Gravis and refusing treatment. I am afraid this may put her over the edge :(

Catherine, I just don't what to say, I am so sorry. And I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

First I'll talk about Saturday. I attempted 4 DS HIS/LIS cardio. And I say attempted because while the first part of HIS went fine, when I started LIS I literally felt like I hit a brick wall. I was dizzy and had zero energy. HR never got out of the 140s even on the blasts. But I finished anyway and was amazed to find I had burned 412 calories.

Oh, and the running is once again starting to bother my left knee.:( Weight hasn't budged yet either.:(

Now, today started week 2 of Meso 2, Disc 16 Chest, Shoulders and Triceps. You had the same rep pattern as last week 12/10/8 but at 75% and a final backoff set dropping weight by 40% and going to failure. Workout was 1:03 and I burned 375 calories. Then went for a walk pushing DD that was 1:05 and I burned 575 calories, for a total today of 950 calories burned.

And due to how I felt Saturday morning, I did not do anything else nor did I do anything on Sunday. I was experiencing some sharp pians in the left knee. However I did some work out in the yard both those days.

Catherine- I am so sorry your loved ones are dealing with serious health issues. Why do these things seem to happen all at once:( I'm keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.

Linda- Congrats on the 3 lbs!! Your hard work is paying off:) It's funny but when I do the HIS/LIS premix, I have a hard time getting my HR up and my calorie burn sucks.

Today was disc 13 chest, shoulders, triceps. I am happy to report that I lifted slightly heavier than my first round on a number of exercises and didn't hit failure like before. Maybe that is how I need to measure my strength gains. Of course, I just got off a recovery week and feeling fresh so lets see what next week holds:confused: OK, off to cut the grass......................

Judi - The premix is LIS cardio first and HIS cardio second, but I reverse it and HIS first which allows me to get higher heart rates during LIS, plus I always add impact. But didn't happen Saturday, got to LIS and felt like I wanted to fall over. Nice job on upping the weights for Disc 13!:D

YAY!! All of your hard work has finally paid off!!!

Thanks for your prayers. It just seems to be one thing after another this year

Catherine - Thanks! So how did your foot hold up after the treadmill?

Hey, can you tell me how are you suppose to go to 'Total Failure" on those break away sets if you are by yourself?

I did about 30 minutes of a modified RS on a 4" platform. It's just no fun stepping if I can not go all out  I was too busy worrying about my foot and modifying to have any fun. But I do love to mambo cha cha :D It's funny the treadmill bothered it less than stepping. I guess that means I won't be stepping much for a while. Maybe I can create a whole step routine around mambo cha cha-ing :D:D:D

Catherine, mambo cha-cha is fun! When you have that workout put together let me know, I'd like to try it.:p

This morning I did Cardio Fusion, have not done that one in a long time. Took me a little longer due to having to stop and wake up DS and 1 or 2 longer rests.;):p Workout was 1:19 and I burned 660 calories. Then not sure I should count this because it's a very laid back walk for me, but I walked 1:27 with my client and burned 367 calories. For a total of 1027 calories.

Not sure if I will do anything else on my own or not, I feel weird counting something that didn't make breath hard or leave me all sweaty. I just may mow the lawn later which is always good for at least 400 calories.:D
