Chinsters...where are you? 10/06

I care Melody and I am SO GLAD YOU ARE BACK, posting your chin count!!!

Hey can I share this with you guys. I was at a gas station tonight and left two kids in the car and went in with the other. When I returned to the car the two inside said "Mom this guy in front of us just smashed/backed into our front end, really hard, the car rocked back and forth" So I ran around to look at the front and the old man comes up and says "if you would have parked two feet further back I never would have hit you". My mouth is dropped open "you mean this is my fault?" I practically yelled in his face in disbelief that he even said what he said. AND HE SAYS "Yes, it's your fault". My son is now standing with his mouth open, knowing that I am exercising great self control by not getting into my car and smashing into his only to hop out and say "if your car wouldn't have been there I never would have hit it" (I just know my son was fearing that I would REALLY do this).

The old man turned around and began to walk off and I couldn't contain myself so I said "Sir" (had to say this three times as he was ignoring me and a bunch of people were standing and watching now - probably waiting for me to run into his car and do what I stated earlier, at which time they would have cheered in my fantasy). "Sir, the right thing to do here would be to say "I'm really sorry for running into your car". I know you are old, but obviously your mother never taught you any manners or common courtesy as a child. Keep in mind it's not too late to learn though". He didn't say a word, turned and walked off and I left.

AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! Can someone really be this crazy, rude, etc. I think he didn't get a donut todayx( x( x( x( x( .

Melody, LOL about the chin count! (I'm, of course, right there with you!)

Briee, I can't believe that guy! I'm guessing your car wasn't damaged or you would have asked for his insurance card. You were right to say what you did. I always wonder about people like that and what might be going on in their lives. Is it just total selfishness/lack of common courtesy, or is there something putting them in a funk (like chronic pain or illness - either self or spouse) that's making them scowl at everyone.

What gaul that man had!! I would have called the police just to file a report anyway!! Why is it that some people never except responsibility for anything in life that they do? Briee, I think he knew you could do chinups and was afraid. That's why he walked off!!

Hey! Just wanted to check back in to say DH and I are driving to Baltimore for a business/pleasure overnight trip. It's our 19th anniversary today.:)

I might do some Pilates at the hotel later if I feel like it. Yesterday I did a very challenging 90 min yoga podcast with a friend. One of the poses the guy did which I'd never heard of is called (I think) "Bird of Paradise," where you go from bound prayer twist to a standing position, still keeping your arms bound and gradually straightening your right leg. I don't think I'm describing it very well, but it was very challenging and something to work up to! The guys name is Pablo Dominee (I think) Lee and my friend downloaded the podcast for free in case one of you (Briee?}( ) wants to try it.

I did SS on Sunday with absolutely no neck/shoulder pain from the UB work. Yay! I really think I'm on my way this time and might be able to go to split sets next week.:)

Soooosan-
Happy Anniversary! Have a great time on your over night trip.

Briee- That guy is a nut!

Joanne

Briee - I would have not been as controlled...I would have gone to plan "smash his car" immediately.

Soooosan, Happy Anniversary!!!!

Hi Joanne and Catherine.

Soosan (LOL hysterically at your description of the BIRD OF PARADISE - what a name describing something so painful)I do NOT want the Podcast (so nice of you to think of mex( )BUT I WOULD like to send it on to the gentleman who ran into my car, so please forward:p :p :p :p . :7 :7 :7 :7

CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR 19TH, isn't it amazing how time flies. Next year will be my 19th too and it's been a wonderful 19 years, but it's always hard to imagine that it's been so long.

Thanks again for all your encouraging words. Joanne, you and AJ REALLY need to come next year - you're so close. It's just a neat thing to complete and the most beautiful course. I finally got results and came in 6th for my category. I could have placed 3rd had I been 2 years YOUNGER (in the adult female group. I was in the Master's (meaning I'm old)). And here is the most interesting observation. The 40-60 category was faster (stronger) in general than the 20-39 adult female class. Leading me to believe.....THE OLDER YOU GET THE BETTER YOU GET!! I was just amazed at the incredible stamina of these 40-50+ old women. Isn't that motivation to keep exercising!!!!

Melody....we think just a little bit alike(ie smashing the car)!!!! Have your kids seen Curious George? My 16 year old ds is absolutely in love with it (he's a happy guy and reminds me of CG quite a bit). He just bought the CD as he loved the music so much too. It's really cute!! (Soosan too.....have your kids seen it?)

Briee

Briee-I would love to participate next year. I would have a lot of work to do before then. At our next get together, I will talk to the other's about it and who knows, maybe we will all come! (I'm getting nervous just typing this). Once again, you did GREAT!

Melody-Curious George brought back the memory of Ameilea Bedelia (sp?) Those books are the best. Have you heard of them? I'm sure your library would have them. I enjoyed them just as much as my DD's.

Briee and Joanne

We haven't seen Curious George the movie, but my boys have read (years ago) and continue to re-read Curious George and Amelia Bedelia. We all get a kick out of them. I'm glad that even though 2 of them have moved on to higher level reading, they still love the children's books...I'd have to admit to reading the kiddie books just for myself if they didn't.

Just so you guys know, I am working out hard, just can't seem to do chin attempts or negatives due to the darn neck. Today will be PLB and some core work.

Soooosan, we may need to start a yoga check-in to get me on track. I find that way too often I'm skipping yoga and I need it now more than ever. Why do we so often avoid what we need most?

Later loverlies.:7

Oh my stars must be in alignment!! I am on such a high today!! Actually, I think it was the coffee (caffeinated) that I had at lunch LOL!!! But anywho, meanwhile back at the ranch,.... Oh wait that's another story. See? I don't think I'll sleep tonight. This is a major change from last night when I couldn't even stay awake watching the news.

I did MM today with chins. Yeah, actually reporting chinups on a chinup thread!! My total today 22!! Working my way back up slowly. Feeling stronger. Confession, I skipped the shoulders, bis and tris. I did them on Sunday. And frankly with doing chinups, I just don't think I need that much isolation work. Besides, I'll do MM again on friday and will do as is. Trying to do some full body routines for a while. Had been doing splits. Me thinks I still like splits better????

How's everyone else??

Catherine...you are in such a fun mood!!! Love your little smiley spacey guys!! I did my favorite intervals (my compilation of all my fav Cathe intervals with SB challenge at the end of it), but I think I'm headed downstairs to lift a while. Hey I did a set of 7 chins this morning and 4 pullups and then scattered sets through the day with 3 probably accounting for most of these sets. Sooooo it was a chin day!!!

Melody....sounds like you need, oh my I can't say this, arrrrrghhhhh, ooooooooooooo, this is killing me, I don't think I can ................................................................................................................................................YOGA!!!

briee (there I said it - are you proud of me Soosan?)

I DO hope you feel better Melody! Be wise!!

Almost forgot....we LOVE amelia bedelia too!!!!

I just came up from doing HSC followed by a few more chins with slow negatives. I feel good. Now I must go read my book for Bible Study early tomorrow morning. Hey Melody...you still up? It's 11:09 by me! Waves.
