Chin your heart out

Joanne, glad your wrist is better!! Sorry to hear about your 18 hour headache though. Dreaming of chins- you'll be doing them soon!! Seriously, I do think we have a big mental hurdle to overcome too. Once we do the physcial part is a bit easier. Not easy mind you, but easier. On days when I say "I CAN'T" I am lucky to eeek out 2 or 3. On days I say "I CAN" I can do 4-5. I truly believe the mind is a very powerful thing!!

I agree that the mind is a very powerful thing. When my friend spots me, just barely touching my barbell, I can always eek out another rep or two. I wish the mind thing would work with my chin-ups. I rarely attempt them any more, but when I do, I get half way up. At least I haven't lost any ground from when I used to do them all the time. And I'm also not constantly injuring myself, which is the main thing.
 
I forgot to report my workouts. My friend is vacationing in NC so I got to do Imax 3 yesterday and Drill Max today. Tomorrow I'm doing a 90 min yoga podcast with some friends (Phillip Urso - free downloads on iTunes - very challenging vinyasa flow yoga). I'll probably do some more interval cardio Sunday, then back to a lighter schedule with my friend on Monday. I'm really psyched she's sticking with it and I am finding a way to make it work for both of us.

Our annual Ball is in less than two months so things are starting to get pretty busy at work. It's a lot of fun, though.

Hey ladies!! This morning I did LM intervals 1-4 with 17 total chinups between intervals. I walked the pooches and then did my own version of upper body. 3 sets of 8 reps each Bench press 45 # (could have gone heavier- a little) one arm rows at 32.5 pounds (probably need 35) over head press with 15 (should have done 17.5) rear delt flies 12 #, skull crushers 13.5 pounds and concentration curls with 20 # I am sufficiently fried }( :eek: }( Now I still have ab work to fit in x(

I'm here but I'm barely here!! We caught a darn bug again - this one was a NASTY virus. Fever, chills, terrible headache etc. Now my head feels like a weight - a 30 pound weight to be exact. Haven't worked out all week AGAIN. But I have the ladies class tonight so that's all going to change. I'm hoping that I can keep standing erect, without falling over.

Man Catherine...you are just doing great. You are ALL doing great!! Keep it up chinners!!

Hey...absolutely AWESOME weather here - despite my complaining. I'm LOVING IT!! Been laying on the innertube in the pool trying to recover - it's so beautiful.

Briee, so sorry you are feeling bad :( Hope you are well soon!! Is it really warm enough up there for the pool??? WOW!!

I am semi happy with my progress, but think I should be further along by now. But all I can do is try to move forward.

BTW I am soooooooooo Bloated and miserable. All the carbs I've had with the recent vacation and all. YUK!!! I hope this really isn't my tummy. I really have some work to do before I meet Cathe in Aug!!

We're getting geared up for the KY Derby this weekend! It's practically a holiday round here LOL!!

Briee-hope you are feeling better. We have beautiful weather too but not warm enough for swimming. Great biking weather which I will be doing later.

Catherine-where do you find those great pictures? I always forget you live in Kentucky. I use to go on vacation there every summer when I was little as my Grandparents lived down there. My Dad grew up in Kentucky. I believe it was Louisville (sp?). My Grandfather loved the horse track. When he would visit us in Chicago he would always go take the train to Arlington Park Race Track.

Today, I did Body Max 2 upper body (double) premix. First time I did that one. My arms were really tired. Even the ab section she does each section twice. Great work out.

Well....I'm at 11 chins and 5 pullups for today and hoping to do more through out the day. I did heavy shoulders this morning and am going to do yoga later today. I survived last night (all we did was push/pull and coremax I) and then taekwondo which was mostly stick fighting - not too taxing!!

We are swimming here because dh installed a heat exchanger from our outdoor woodboiler to the swimming pool, so the water is currently at 84 degrees - warmer than the air on most days. I LOVE IT!! The kids love it!! Grandma loves it!! We were actually swimming in Wisconsin on March 26th. I love dh's who are adventurous enough to try ridiculous things such as this!!

Soosan...so awesome how well your workouts are going with your friend!! Makes it much more fun and your HELPING SOMEONE. That alone makes it all worth it doesn't it!!

Briee, sounds like you are bouncing right back!!! Awesome work on the chins and pullsups!! As you always do. Oh and a heated pool- waaaaaaay coooool!!!!

I did S&H legs only with chins. Man oh man does working the legs wear me out! Is it just me??? I get so winded like I'm doing an intense cardio session. I am a lower body woosie LOL!! I did 45# on the squats and could barely make it. 30 #s on the lunges and my legs were fried. I did a total of 22 chinups. And can you believe DH says to me (on one of my last sets where I was doing 3s) uh that one only counts as 2.5 because you didn't go all the way back down. I was like WTH did you just day??? OK I think that is grounds for divorce LOL!! I politely told him that I do the best I can :)
