Chin-Up Check-In Mon 5.15

>Where is Kathryn, I expect her any second to come in and say-
>I did it!!!!

Here!

But I haven't "did it" yet!;-)

Sunday was P90X Chest/Back, but because I'd done two sets of my chin-up attempts the day before, after chins the day before that, my shoulder that always tells me when I overdo was not happy with me, so I didn't do any attempts, but I did all the Ch/Bk chins and pull-ups with the assist of 1 foot on the back of a kitchen chair (12 reps for most sets). (Note to self, do NOT try chins two days in a row!)

Then I took yesterday off, except for 7 sets of "cat squats" (2 sets with Scooter, the lightest load, 1 each with Rascal (BIG pyramid up!), 1 with Simon, another one with Scooter, because he actually wanted to do it again!, and one each with Bobsie and Mandy) because I didn't want to heat up too much.

Unbeknownst to my online pals, I've been dealing with poison sumac for over a week (left cheek looks like I'm a burn victim, and has already flaked off one layer of nasty, scaley, killed-off skin, and on Friday and Saturday was puffed up like the recent Jerry Lewis, or an ambitious chipmunk prepping for winter). I tried to keep it under control without allopathic help (by taking lots of vitamin C and calcium, to help my liver clean out the toxins, taking some homeopathic stuff, and washing with variious post-exposure soaps), but I finally gave up and went to the doctor for some prednisolone, (which I've had to do at least once a year for a while, since I have a systemic reaction to urushiol).

Decided to take it a bit easier yesterday, since increase in body temp can make more stuff come to the surface of the skin. Since the drugs are kicking in already, I'm hoping to do Kelly Coffey-Meyer's "Get Ready, Step, Go" as my cardio for today.

When I get back to my chinups tomorrow (P90X shoulders and arms day) I'm going to go back to negatives: 2 sets of 5 reps, with a 4 count hold at top, and a 10 count lower...at least that's the plan for now!...since I need to work more on the upper ROM to get 'over the hump.'

Kathryn,
Cat squats LOL!! It took me a minute to get this one :+ :+

Sorry to hear about the poison sumak :-( Hope you are better soon.
