Chin-up check-in June 30

I'm just so jealous of you guys and everyone else who's workin out. I've been so busy, my workouts have been much too few lately!!

HB, I've noticed more definition since the P90X and I'm sure this helped my strength considerably as far as chins are concerned. Got me goin on them so to speak. Soosan...if you don't have the P90X it's a must have for strength. The best I've come across. Gives one a plan for doing chins and pushups.

I'm going to miss all of you this coming week!!! I'm planning on climbing the "tower" - just to put my upperbody strength to some practical use!!! (It's a climbing wall with a zip line attached when ya get to the top and you get to zip a couple hundred feet to a sled hill) I can't wait for this. It's so much fun to "play" at our age!!!

Keep on chinnin!! (thanks Catherine for explaining the smiley guy thing, I'll try it when I return!!)

Joanne...I still owe you that email, I will, I will, I will as soon as I can!!!

Briee, I just want you to know that I haven't worked out today. Come to think of it, I didn't work out yesterday either. I hope that makes you feel better:D :p

I hope you have a fabulous time on your vacation, I mean, as much fun as a person can have camping:7

I like Michele....she can stay!!!!

Thanks so much for the well wishes. We're getting camping gear together as I type. I tried doing PH this morning....I think I did half of it. Did some negative chins instead of back work...see I'm still a chinner!!

Campings fun, campings fun, campings fun, campings fun, chin ups are fun, walking on hot coals is fun.........you get the picture.

Briee

AND Michele...you did make me feel MUCH better. :7 :7 :7 Want to come over and work out together....or eat donuts together???

Hey Chins!

Today is day #4 of not working out - very unlike me, but there's too much going on. We've got friends from Atlanta visiting until Wed and I've just been too busy to get a workout in. I have a little time right now - I might do some quick yoga to get me motivated again.

HB, thanks for the interesting info from Men's Health. For me, since I can't do a chin-up yet and can only do about 12-16 push-ups, weight work is still important, supplemented with push-ups and neg chin-ups. Plus, I hate push-ups and chin-ups and would always dread working out if that's all I did.

Catherine, your progress is amazing!:)

Melody, I'm glad you checked in even though you're not doing chins at this point. It's always fun to read your sun-shiney posts.:)

Michelle, aw, come on, try some chins so you can check in with us (although we'd love for you to check in anyway)!

Briee, you're going to have a great time camping. I can just picture you climbing a rock wall to a zip line. Is the zip line over a lake or anything? I do have P90X, BTW, and did the 90 day rotation last fall. Sometimes I do Shoulders & Arms and I often do Yoga X. I'm doing to do another 90 day rotation in the fall when things become more routine. Last time I did it, I didn't have a chin-up bar. Who knows how far I'll get with it next time now that I have one.}(

Joanne, did your company arrive yet?

Oh yeah, I promised I'd post a link to a picture of my front in an ad I wrote for our local paper: http://www.rrecord.com/arc/2006/6-22-06_A1-16.pdf. It's on the bottom right of page 9, in case the link doesn't take you directly there. I'm the one on the left in the 4th picture. The woman next to me is my boss and the woman to her right is a good friend of mine and the person with whom I job share.

Hope everyone's having a happy 4th of July weekend!:)
