Hey Chins!
Today is day #4 of not working out - very unlike me, but there's too much going on. We've got friends from Atlanta visiting until Wed and I've just been too busy to get a workout in. I have a little time right now - I might do some quick yoga to get me motivated again.
HB, thanks for the interesting info from Men's Health. For me, since I can't do a chin-up yet and can only do about 12-16 push-ups, weight work is still important, supplemented with push-ups and neg chin-ups. Plus, I hate push-ups and chin-ups and would always dread working out if that's all I did.
Catherine, your progress is amazing!
Melody, I'm glad you checked in even though you're not doing chins at this point. It's always fun to read your sun-shiney posts.
Michelle, aw, come on, try some chins so you can check in with us (although we'd love for you to check in anyway)!
Briee, you're going to have a great time camping. I can just picture you climbing a rock wall to a zip line. Is the zip line over a lake or anything? I do have P90X, BTW, and did the 90 day rotation last fall. Sometimes I do Shoulders & Arms and I often do Yoga X. I'm doing to do another 90 day rotation in the fall when things become more routine. Last time I did it, I didn't have a chin-up bar. Who knows how far I'll get with it next time now that I have one.}(
Joanne, did your company arrive yet?
Oh yeah, I promised I'd post a link to a picture of my front in an ad I wrote for our local paper:
http://www.rrecord.com/arc/2006/6-22-06_A1-16.pdf. It's on the bottom right of page 9, in case the link doesn't take you directly there. I'm the one on the left in the 4th picture. The woman next to me is my boss and the woman to her right is a good friend of mine and the person with whom I job share.
Hope everyone's having a happy 4th of July weekend!
