Chin up check-in 10/2

Catherine, I forgot about your shoe question too. All this yoga talk has made me dizzy with excitement.}(

I have Ryka Enlights and like them pretty well, but I guess I haven't found a shoe I've fallen in love with either. I agree with you, Catherine, that the issue with running shoes is lateral movement, but I also agree you have to find what works for you, and if running shoes feel good, I don't see why you shouldn't use them.

Did you all know you didn't need shoes to do yoga?:p

Good point Soosan >if running shoes feel good, I don't see why you shouldn't use them. (not to be confused with the shoeless yoga point)

I am wondering how many of you do all your Cathe cardio with strictly a running type shoe. I'm tempted to go for this next time. I guess I should post this on OD as we chin/pullers are few and far between (kind of an elite type of crowd :7 :7 smiley guy ROTF, cluthing donuts and kicking feet laughing hysterically :p ).

Weird thing about my Rykas...it always feels like the arch is somewhat "off", like in the wrong place for where my arch is. I always get used to it, but it never seems quite right at first.

My tush hurts too much to bike again today so I've GOT TO DO CHINS!!!! (why am I putting this off x( )

Janie went away for a few months. I don't know about HB.

Hi, HB, if you're lurking - we miss you! You, too, Melody!

Briee, how many chin-ups did you do? Procrastination is never a problem with yoga.:p

Catherine, I'm so glad to hear your back is feeling better. Let's keep our fingers crossed! I've been thinking about you because my DH is headed for Boston today until Friday. Hopefully he'll stay away from the wild bar you went to.:p }(

I did L&G yesterday, followed by KPC abs, which I've been adding in slowly (i.e, no weights or pikes). Yesterday was the first time I tried the pikes and they didn't bother my neck/shoulders one bit! Today I'm going to do one of A-Jock's shorter mish-moshes she posted for me (http://69.0.137.118/dc/dcboard.php?..._id=341010&mesg_id=341010&listing_type=search) followed by some not too intense bi/tri work.

Yay Soooooooooooosan!! Pikes and no neck pain!! I know how ya feel. Just keep easing into it. If you are like me, I tend to want to push myself and have to be very careful right now not to!! Have fun with your mish-mosh,it looks pretty killer!!

Uhh humm,... Briee did you do those chinups yet?

Soosan...does AJ HAVE any shorter mish moshes??? I don't think her brain has the mental capacity to process a less than intense/shorter mish mosh. }(

I am in the midst of GS BSB, had to run up and answer the business line and you guys were "calling me" (computer conveniently located next to business line). I'm trying to gently work my back so that I'm ready to ROW ROW ROW THE BOAT (or canoe) on Saturday.

I did some chins Sunday & yesterday after not doing them last week and only once the week before. I was very stressed and tired, and took a break, which seems to have helped.

Hey HB good to hear from you. I'm curious how your sets are going. I can't seem to budge from 10 and if I go do them right now like I'm supposed to, my guess is that I'll get out 7 as I haven't done them in a while. I know you were trying to get to 15!! That's a tough goal!! But I have faith in you.

My top for the summer was 12 in a set, but I've NEVER made it there again and I'm still having a tough time getting 10. I'm trying to think of new stragegies to get beyond this. I know they are out there!!

Briee

forgot to checkin yesterday. 5 chins for me. working on the pullups now, too. One day I'll get past 1 ;) Hope you all are well.

HB - great to hear from you! Sorry things are so stressful right now. I hope they get better. Call on us if you need support!

Boybert, you're incredible and I hate you.:p :p :p

Catherine, you're always so encouraging. I bet you're a fantastic nurse.

Briee, wow, 896 - that's my record too (as I'm sure you recall from that thread of long ago started by, I think, Icklemoley).

What a hectic day it's been! My house looks like a tornado hit it and I've had NO time to get it straight. I don't mind a little mess/dirt, but when it gets this bad, it stresses me out. Will one of you come over and clean so I can work out, go to my next meeting, pick up kids and then go to our church dinner later?

>896..that's my record too. Soosan, I remember it well...so well it's stuck with me all these years!! I don't know why that struck me as SOOOOO incredibly funny-but it did. Guess just reading all those posts and then you posted 896 and I got a kick out of that ALL DAY. It still makes me laugh. Actually I've adopted that answer for just about everything. Someone in TaikwonDo asked me how many pushups I could do and I ALWAYS say 896 now. See what an influence you've had on all of us. :7 :7 :7 :7 . I DO appreciate you guys so much!!

Catherine...can you come clean my house too??? I also think you must be a WONDERFUL nurse, which makes ALL the difference in the world when you go to the hospital/doctor.

I'm decluttering today. Soosan, I go nuts with clutter and mess when it gets too bad also. Problem is I don't know where to start x( x( x( x( . I think I'll declutter my pullup bar, that's quick and easy.

Briee

Thanks for the compliments!! I've been a nurse for 18 years. 7 of those 18 have been as a Nurse Practitioner. I love my job and I love helping people!!! Now I am not so good at cleaning house ( I actually pay someone to clean mine LOL so what does that tell ya!!). But Briee, as with Soooooooooooosan, I will be over after my 896 chinups are complete ;-).

Ahhhh, just finished Pyramid bonus mix. Did sets of chins between exercises. Did a total of 18 in small sets. Also did a little more of the leg work and increase wt ever so slightly. I just love the pump after a good workout!!

Depressing news though- I caught a glimpse of my belly today and Uggghhhh!!! Alas my lack of working out has taken a toll!! Of course a little lack of dietary discipline too!! Can I still blame it on my colonoscopy?? They fill ya with air ya know. Funny story, maybe TMI, but... After my scope, while I was still under the influence of the drugs they gave me I was tooting and just laughing at myself. My husband was so embarrased!! I wonder what else I did. I worry!!! Did I tell ya'll that when I got there and they were checking B/P and heart rate they told me to get a little more excited. My HR was 46 and b/p 98/56!! My resting HR is usually in the 50s when awake, I've never seen it in the 40s!!

Oh well, I guess I was feeling a little chatty. Now you all know more about me than you probably want to know!!
