Chest flys vs. Incline flys? Also, love Cardio & Weigh...

Hi Cathe,

I've added Cardio & Weights to my rotation, and I love it! Were you all having fun that day, or what? I love how Rhonda and Cedie smile right at me (so it seems), and you are giving me perfect instruction while even laughing! The step choreography is great--a perfect mix of dancy and athletic moves. Soon I'll be brave enough to tackle Step Blast!

I have an unrelated question regarding chest work. What is the main difference between regular supine chest flys and incline flys? Does the incline position target different muscles, and, if so, which ones?

I started teaching step last year, and thanks in part to KPC, I just started teaching kickboxing. I've gone in one year from an out-of-shape couch potato to a kickboxing instructor! You, my coordinator, and my fellow instructors convinced me I could do it, so here's a huge thank you!

I hope that you heal soon, but more importantly, I hope you heal completely. Take care of yourself! Your workouts touch more people than you'll ever know.

Hi Thejster,

Not Cathe but just finished GS Chest where Cathe explains that the incline press/flies target, or better said, "isolates" the upper portion of the pectoral muscles. The press builds overall density while the flies target the outer pectoral primary and inner pectoral secondary while also incorporating a stretching movement.

In GS Chest/Triceps, not only is this such an effective chest workout but Cathe teaches you a lot about the purpose of the form for each exercise. She also talks about focusing on the movements and visualizing your goals for the workout. It's one of her best workouts because of what she teaches us
in addition to the actual exercises.
