Today is a rest day. I am chaperoning a dance and won't be home til late. Just wanted to say hello & wish everyone a great day! Again, a short one since I posted last night.

Linda :: yeah, I thought it was odd. *shrugs* Oh well. Looking forward to your review of EKB.

Wendy :: I know we talked about the marathon before and mentioned Disney, but didn't we discover that Disney was already full, or am I making that up? I would like to find one to train for within the next year as it is a goal I lost sight of after the AT and then that long hiatus from running. Now that I'm closer to my weight loss goals, I would like to think about it and get a plan going. It would be awesome to train for & run one with some cheetahs!

Oh, BTW, Sajak had all his hair back the next night, so it was indeed an April Fool's joke. Score one for Pat. He got me.

Good morning Cheetahs!

Cathy - What a bummer that they blocked Cathe's sight at work! We have certain things blocked. Have fun at the dance. Glad to hear Pat Sajak has hair.

Wendy - I had Shaun's Hip Hop Abs. I really enjoyed the workouts. Thought they were fun. But, the old back couldn't take it. Joey will get that potty training thing. I think it takes a little longer with boys. It did with mine. DD was easy.

Linda - Great job on the 8 miles. Are you planning on a race soon?

I did Ripped To The Core and some foam rolling. Have some DOMS in upper and lower body. Gotta get ready for work. Was trying not to be so late checking in today.

Gotta be in work at 8 instead of 9 this morning. It has it's good and bad points. I love getting out at 11 but hate the lack of quiet time it allows me in the morning and PURPOSELY getting up for 6am is simply not in my genetic make up. :p

Jackie: Do you still have the Hip Hop Abs work outs or did you get rid of them? I ask b/c perhaps I would buy them from you if you didn't want them. :)

Cathy: Yes we had definately talked about doing a Disney full mary together but I don't recall anything about it being full. I think we were just batting the idea around but had not gotten any farther. I am definately aiming to train for and run a full mary in 2009 if I can. This 18 miler I am doing with Shelly is the perfect "next step" between the half and the full marathons so I'm very excited about it. Think you would be able to train for and do it with us? }( Anyway, I would love to run a full mary with you if we can find an agreeable one. Shelly is also going to run with me also so if all 3 of us could do it together that would be completely awesome!:+

Christine: Yeah, I've eaten off of the Simply Grillers section at Outback but I wanted something different. I thought about taking the bacon off the sandwich and only eating half the roll but I didn't want DH to make fun of me!:p

Carole: I am glad your knee is okay. So what's this thing you think you have then? It's not serious I gather and that's great.

Dallas: LOL My DH does the "you never told me that" to me all of the time. I'd like to slug him!:p

Shelly: There is nothing wrong with wanting to make the best money you can. I knew you'd have the pick of the litter! Sounds like you have a decision to make!:+

Kath: NICE time on your 8 mile run. ITA that it's completely ridiculous to be vacuuming the track when the gym is busy!x( I am leaving for FLA on Thursday and coming home on Monday so it's a very short trip. We would have liked to stay longer but DS isn't coming with us so we are at the mercy of the babysitter.

jackie- for some reason i just couldn't get into ripped to the core and i love hybrid movements, hmmmm. enjoy your DOMS. how is your mom doing?

wendy- so what workout are you doing today? i don't hear you mention taking any classes at the gym anymore. did your company take away that policy? totally understand about wanting to do some fun workouts right now. after my HM i didn't even want to think about running, lol.

shelly- it's no surprise you will have your pick of positions. i am hoping they realize how wonderful you are as much as we do:) it would be great to be able to do a race together.

dallas- studying is coming along slowly but surely. i am not going to be able to take it as soon as i wanted to. however i am definitely going for it!

linda- i totally understand re: having limited vacation time. being a pt and instructor you do not get paid vacation. so my time off is unpaid so i can't do that too much.

carole- so happy you received your new amy's. they are getting alot of good reviews so i am sure you will enjoy them.

christine- good for you, no KB accidents, lol. if you find the link again to the race please let me know. is it something you are able to do?

wendi- i did not take your reminder as nagging at all. in fact i am happy you reminded me! enjoy your workout today!!

OMG- i have some serious UB DOMS from yesterday's kickbox workout. they started last night so i knew they would be pretty fierce this morning. i am happy my workout today is not UB intensive.

today's workout is my fullbody workout from NWOLF4W. it's the same as day 1. i am going to follow it up with a little run outside with ds#1.

We have our company quarterly meeting this morning. 3 hours of listening to EVERY department yap about how they’re doing. I don’t know why we need to hear everyone. What a waste. Oh well. I get to go in a bit later so that’s good. I think I’ll do Rock Steady Step this morning along with a Core Circuit from Steve Cotter.

Dallas – Hope you slept better last night and I hope DS is feeling better. Nothing worse than being worried that there is something seriously wrong with your child. I just threw the suggestion for that half out there figuring it would be a good middle ground that’s easy to get to. I guess it’s when the most people can make it. :+ Keep a 5 year old inactive? Sure, and for you’re next trick you’ll turn water into wine… Good luck! :+

Shelly – Love your energy! ITR Twice? You are an animal! Oh boy, Straight up Step is that tricky? I may have to check it out. :p You mercenary you! Actually, if I know you, you’ll balance the pay with the hours and the environment. Oh yeah, AOS Newport is your kind of workout. It’s actually fun.

Kath – Great job o the run! I would think they would vacuum the track when it’s closed. Hello!? That is too weird! I would have mentioned something to management.

Cathy – have fun tonight chaperoning! Too funny about Pat Sajek! I actually think the NC race was a 5k – I figured we all could run 3 miles no matter how hot. :p That’s what made the San Francisco race so good – the weather in October is PERFECT for a race. There are other halfs in San Francisco – just not ones as fun. Personally, I think y’all need to come out for the Bay to Breakers. Anyone can run a half. Bay to Breakers is a party! And as there are too many people to run really fast, we could all just jog together (dressed in costume, too!), and have a blast watching the other people. THAT’s MY kind of GTG. :+ The school probably blocked a bunch of sites, and Cathe was one. I don’t like that either.

Linda – Happy Friday! You’ll do fine with kettlebells. The accidents I’ve had are strictly my own fault. I’m a klutz! :p Isn’t HLK fun? Double step workout? I was going to take double step at my gym, but as I’m directionally challenged – have issues with left and right – I figured it would be an accident waiting to happen, so I skipped it as we share steps with other steppers.

Jackie – RTTC gets me in the legs too – endurance work always does! I’ll be more selective with my workouts, but, yeah, they’ll come. :p

Wendy – I like my quiet time too, in the morning. At least you enjoyed yourself at Outback and DH didn’t get to make fun of you! You can afford it once in a while!

Sunny – I’ll look for the link to that race. I know it’s in Beaufort mid July. I’m not sure exactly when. I don’t know if I’ll make it or not yet. I have to wait to find out the kids schedules for when we’ll be in North Carolina.

Cathy...I am sure hoping when I eventually have to upgrade to Vista any kinks will be gone. I believe it will be a good OS. Funny as I was worried about going to XP from 98SE, but I love XP. That is cool about Vista taking care of the drivers! I googled semitendinosus too...:)..how is the grading going? That sucks about big brother watching and no Cathe at work...:(...LMAO on the Sajak April Fools joke...

Jackie...I might try advanced workouts next time Amy has a new workout. This was terrible customer service IMO. I like Jari's compound exercises but eventually it is her voice and "deer in the headlights" look that gets to me...I wish I could send you some of our weather...it was nice and about 80 yesterday. But personally, I want more rain. Good job with RTTC and foam rolling.

Wendy...my Mom has dial-up too...I hate helping her with any PC problem's as it takes too blasted long...What I have is a part of ny hamstring, a muscle/tendon that goes from the back of the leg down the inside of the knee and then ends in the upper calf area. The area is a bit sore to the touch as I have been massaging it. The pain is not bad during any exercise but I was relieved to know it was not a knee issue.

Sunny...I do like the 1st Amy I tried (ITR)! I get DOMS from kickboxing too if I have not done it in awhile. Enjoy your full body weight workout and run with ds#1.

Christine...I really enjoyed ITR!! I only had time to do up thru combo 3. Some of the moves are tricky but like with KBX, I know the moves will come to me easily in time. I had no idea Fed-Ex ground was so slow. I agree that someone should have contacted me regardless if Amy was out of town. I see on the Forum she is back. Doubtful I will get any contact now, but you would think they'd check to see if I got the DVD's by now. Poor Customer service IMO. Kudos on the KB workout without an accident!! Hope your 3 hour meeting goes by fast!

Dallas..so sorry about the sleeplessness and DS's coughing! Hope the new meds help and you get some answers after testing him next week. Still would be funny seeing you and your friend getting all those balloons in the SUV...:)

Shelly...I cannot believe you did ITR twice!! I had fun with it and think it is a great workout. You certainly deserve the best paying job!! LOL about the semitendinosus! I think I screwed up saying way back when that I was going to get all my injuries in my 40's so my 50"s would be injury free!!! Well my last years in the 40's is putting that statement to the test!! My nephew showed me a stretch for the area and I am doing some standing curls with a light ankle weight to strengthen the hammy. I also got in the area with my roller yesterday, and am icing when I can.

Kath..can't believe that cleaning woman would not move for you?? That is interesting on the 3 wisdom teeth with one laying sideways. I had all 4 of mine pulled when I was 19 and they had not bugged me at all. I guess it is just better to remove them...

Linda...thanks re my injury...:)...I had a blast with ITR, once I get the moves down it'll be way fun and then I can try some of the premixes as hers are good. Good job on 8 miles yesterday!

I am going to do some sort of circuit mish-mosh with my EXT and MM chest, back and some exercises from LL.

Good morning cheetahs! I had a much better time yesterday with Straight Up Step. Definitely helps to learn this one with a fresh awake brain;-) Ended up doing BM2 yesterday rather than HSTA but did it on the Bosu... lots of fun!

Carole- Still in the circuit mode I see:) I'd say you've definitely had more than your fair share in injuries lately :eek: Sounds like you are jumping right on this latest one and I bet it won't trouble you too much. I knew you'd like ITR... I'll be giving it another whirl today! Did you get any other Amys... like HLK?

Christine- Sounds like a real yawner of a meeting you have to endure!
x( Part of the corporate mentality I guess! Did much better with SUS... I have to admit, the first time you try this one you may want to stomp it into little pieces... definitely one you should watch thru first. However, it really isn't more difficult say then ASC2 and I'm looking forward now to doing it again.

SunnyD- So how is your DS doing with the running? When is that 5k you are doing together? On your comment about a beach run in NC... have to tell you this... I did a quickie search on a few popular racing web sites for ones in NC. I didn't find any near the shore but I did find two that were sponsored by nudist colonies! :p One was called "Take Pride in your Hide 5k"!!! What kind of state do you live in!???:p :p :p LOL

Linda- Had a much better time doing SUS yesterday:) There was no double step portion at the end but I had to stop it shortly after the cooldown so maybe it is there and I didn't realize it. I'll have to explore that. Great job on your 8 miler!! any races planned for you in WV this year?

Wendy- Ah the trials of potty training!!! Don't you wish it were as easy to do this as it is to housebreak a puppy??? That would be so awesome if we could talk Cathy into doing the 18 miler together!

Cathy- See above mention to Wendy ;-) Are you looking for a full Mary to do later this year or next year? I'll be doing the Philly marathon on Nov. 23rd. That 18 miler on LBI fits right into my training schedule which starts in August I believe. That's too bad they blocked the Cathe website at your workx( I discovered a way to keep Big brother from blocking websites I like to visit (like Cathe's) My hospital is notorious for searching out and blocking websites employees are visiting. I never go to Cathe's site directly. I always go to Yahoo or Google and type it in as a search and then go there with the link. This has worked for me for 6+ yrs. Well a little late for you now but I thought I'd pass that on... it may be useful to you with othe websites.

Jackie- Our piano move went relatively well. DH didn't hurt himself anyway! Those really are a bear to move and it takes a lot of planning!! You are up early today with the posting :) I have to admit to you... Jari Love is the only instructor who's vid I regret buying. She just doesn't "agree" with me at all!

Dallas- Sounds like your DS is well covered with meds for his cough. From what I understand, relapses aren't uncommon. something just triggered it I guess. Glad to hear he's better though! Re: ITR- I agree with you that it is a bit easier to learn and do then HLK.. I think Christine said pretty much the same thing. But they are both fun and challenging. Amy just keeps getting better.

Kath- Great time on that 8 miler!!! You're training for a half mary right? You'll do awesome I'm sure! Have you considered going for a full mary? I'll be doing the Philly Marathon Nov 23rd... that's not TOO far away from you is it??? (enable enable:p)

Gotto go now... it's back to work for me tonight. I'll be doing a 4 mile run today and then giving ITR another go around :7

Afternoon Girls :) YAY It's friday :) This time next week I better be on the road--- maybe some where in North Carolina :)

Today's workout was circuits. With GIANT sets for shoulders. Worked abs on the machines there as well. And the cleaning lady wasn't vacuuming today LOL!

Cathy: Have fun chaperoning that dance. Hope the kids behave for ya.

Wendy: Nice get away regardless of how short it is.

Sunny: Don't ya love the DOMS you get later in the day after your workout :)

Christine: No fun having a meeting on a Friday. Will they buy lunch?

Carole: Have a great workout. Do you have any plans for your weekend?

Shelly: A Full Mary??? UM I best stick with what I THINK I can do :) Maybe in the future. How many Mary's have you done? Ok that sounded really weird LOL

OMG, I had an absolutely HORRID time at work! DS was a horror show for the 2nd half of the morning! He didn't get alot of sleep last night so I am HOPING that what the problem was. He threw an almost continuous fit for about an hour at the gym if not longer. I FINALLY got him to calm down for the last 20 minutes we were there and told him if he was a good boy we'd stop and get him a cookie at the "cookie store" (that's what he calls it. :+) when we left the gym since there is a bakery a few doors down and I wanted to pick up milke anyway. So he was like an angel for the last 20+ minutes so off we go to the bakery. I picked up milk and he picked out a cookie. I let him hold the bag and all was wonderful...or so I thought. No sooner did we get out the door of the bakery then all he!! broke loose again. He was throwing a fit because he wanted to eat the cookie at that very moment in the kitchen area back at the gym. I ended up having to carry him in a football hold to the car while he was screaming and crying like a maniac. I dropped my milk and it started to leak which did NOT make me happy and I promise you I threw that cookie right in the garbage can before we even hit the car! I was soooooo beside myself, I can not even tell you. He eventually calmed down a few minutes after we got in the car but OMG I WAS FUMING!!!!! x( x( x( x( x( x( x( x( x(

Sorry, but I had to get that off my chest. When he works my nerves like that it can literally ruin the ENTIRE rest of my day. I am just thankful that it's friday so DH will be home with us tonight. That way if DS makes my last nerve stand on end I can walk away and not have to worry.

Okay enough of that!

Today's work out is going to be a doozy but I am in a sadistic mood. :p I plan to do Rockin' Body Booty Time, Turbo Jam Lower Body Sculpt, Rockin' Body Hard Core Abs and Turbo Jam Ab Jam all back to back. It's about an hour of lower body work and about 30 minutes of abs. I may break it up by doing lower body, abs, lower body, abs, but no matter what, I am banking on some DOMS in the morning! }( :7

Time to get DS off for his nap (EARLY!!!) and then I'll come back and catch up with personals before starting my work out.

Christine - 3 hours should make for a very long and boring meeting. I hope you survived it without No Doze. :) Maybe your workout really pumped you up and the meeting was a breeze.

Carole - I think I have Vista here at work. Can't really tell a difference from XP. But, then again, we have IT to take care of any bugs before they become a problem. For some reason, this morning I watched the background exercisers more than Jari. Sometimes you just want to muffle her talking about calories burned. You can definitely have some of this rain. We're under flash flood watches.

Shelly - Great job with the workout and a fresh brain. Thanks for that bit of info you gave Cathy about blocked websites. When I get that warning that access has been denied, it's usually because it's some kind of video or something streaming. I can take Jari in small doses. I always say it's tendonitis waiting to happen. Enjoy your run and have a good night at work.

Kath - Glad you had a good workout and the cleaning lady didn't get in your way. Have a fun night out.

Wendy - I don't have Hip Hop Abs any longer. I loaned them out to a co-worker. Since I wasn't using them, I didn't ask for them back. She no longer works here and she didn't offer to give them back. I figured as long as somebody was using them, it was ok. What an ordeal with DS. I know it takes a lot of patience sometimes. How is he doing now? At least, you had a little time for yourself during his nap. Enjoy your workout.

Hi Ya!

Yeah, okay so I lied. I did my work out before doing personals. Actually, I took a nap and THEN did my work out but I'm back here for personals now!:p

Sunny: Today I did a leg/bun/ab burner. I did Rockin Body Booty Time, Rockin Body Hardcore Abs, Turbo Jam Lower Body Jam & Turbo Jam Ab Jam in that order. YEOWZAS! I certainly felt the burn, baby!}(
Nope, my compnay didn't take away the policy technically. I just stopped taking classes and guess what? I haven't been charged a dime! It's a bunch of balogna to "scare" us into taking classes! The people that own this gym are scum. They really are! ACK!x( I am totally hoping to be in a better frame of mind come the beginning of May. I'll be really upset if I can't wrap my brain around NROL at that point but I am also not forcing it or I am garunteed not to finish. Keep your fingers crossed!;) So how long of a hiatus from running did you take after your HM anyway? LOL

Christine: Before I left my job at the bank to have Joey I used to have to sit through similar meetings. They were a couple hours long and waaay boring but atleast they fed us a decent lunch when it was over!:9

Carole: I hope your pain issue subsides soon. Happy it's not your knee. So what did you mish-mosh end up being today? Making up your own compilation of exercises can be so much fun, aina'? :7

Shelly: BM2 on the Bosu?? YIKES! That must've been a fun one!}( Yes, it would be great if Cathy wants to/can join in on the 18 miler with us. We can buy a length of rope and tie ourselves to it so that we all stay together. If anyone gets too slow they will get dragged by the other 2! Think that's cheating!?! :7 :7 :7 I'm sure Cathy and I would get our best race time yet with you draggin' us around! :+

Kath: Yes, the trip to FLA will be nice even though it will be short. LMAO at the wording of the marathon question you asked Shelly! TOO FUNNY!:7 Glad no one was vacuuming the track today!:p So will you be playing GH tonight? DH wants to have a marathon session tonight and TRY to beat the game. We got pretty far pretty easily but I have a feeling it's gonna get TOUGH now!:eek:

Jackie: Oh okay, I would have bought them off ya if ya still had 'em. Oh well. No problem. :)

So as I told Sunny I did my workouts today in the following order:

RB Booty Time
RB HardCore Abs
TJ Lower Body Jam
TJ Ab Jam

It was a burner!!! That's for sure!!! I was wasted by the time it was over. Definately a keeper!!!!}( :7 }(

Okay, it's about time to start thinkin' about dinner.
