:::CHEETAHS:::WORKIN' IT WEDNESDAY!:::

fitg

Cathlete
Good Morning!

Cathy: We do the state test once a year and the NWEA computerized testing 3 times per year. Everything did go smoothly yesterday with the testing, thanks! Wow...running again already! Great! Glad you had a good day back!

Hi Sunny!

Wendy: I am doing a marathon about an hour away from home. It is a very scenic area on lake Michigan. I am glad you are feeling better!

Hi LaDonna!

Karen: Forgive me if this was answered already...Do your kids take the state standardized tests? Sounds like you are feeling a lot better!

Christine: Yes, our Cheetah gals are quite amazing! The testing is quite boring and stressful as it is so serious around here. The tests have to be kept under lock and key and we can't even look at them.

Carole: Thanks for posting the pic! You girls are all beautiful! I am geeked about my first marathon after hearing about all our racing Cheetahs! Hope you had a great workout!

Judy: Great workout!

Linda: I am doing a marathon in Traverse City, MI. It is along Lake Michigan. Enjoy your taper!

Posh: I am glad you made it home safely. Thanks for sharing the pics! Gearing up for 2009 already? Awesome!

Shelly: Thanks for the words of support about the marathon! Well, my training partner is a 22 year old student at Michigan State, so we won't be running together all that often. I *think* I can handle it on my own. ???? :)

Dallas: Too funny about the ice cream sandwich!

Jackie: Sorry you had a long day today. Great run today!

Personals are short...sorry. I'm doing the best I can with my hectic schedule these days. Off to work out. Take care Cheetahs! :)

Good morning, cheetahs! :)

Linda—ITA about Posh being photogenic. All the cheetahs are so pretty and were always dressed so cute. Me, I was schlubbin’ around in sweatpants Sunday night and Monday. *lol* No, we didn’t get to see Lance. He didn’t run, and I don’t believe he was in Chicago at all. The temperature was 84. I thought it felt hotter J, but as mentioned by others, there was plenty of water & sponges, and the misting stations and folks with hoses were fantastic. Still, I hope they’ll consider an earlier start time for next year. Oh, it’d be so great if we had another group going! Registration fills by mid-April, so anyone considering it would have to commit by then. Plenty of time to think & plan. J…Oh, I meant since you are at the start of your taper, I think you could do weights as normal, and then just go a little easier with them on the last week of taper. (Carole had recommended doing endurance strength workouts.) Like I said, I am still observing, reading, and learning, but I do wish things hadn’t been so hectic that I could only focus on the running for the final 4 weeks. I know you’ve cut out legwork. In the future, I would probably do that the same way I did this time, which was to cut it out even earlier as I felt my legs were getting constantly worked through the hills. I think that may have helped my recovery times, too. I guess it all depends on how I’m feeling during training.

Christine—the tallest to shortest lineup made for a nice photo. J I don’t dare to imagine what her toes looked like. She didn’t look happy. But she sure was cheesin’ with that medal. *lol* Nope, no way I was goin’ for the beer. It was all the way on the other side of the road, and I was all about trying to just move forward one step at a time at that point. I’m jealous—you are far more organized than me…BUT I’m making progress because it usually takes me a week to unpack. J Funny ‘bout the Tour di Stupid. Love how you snap up challenges! It does sound like a good pre-cursor to the Death Ride.

Jackie—thank you! Hope work is a little easier today.

Gloria—more busy times for you. Great job squeezing in the hardcore workouts. Oh OK—I do remember now you mentioning the NWEA testing before. We don’t have anything like it here, so I’d forgotten. Hang in there with your crazy schedule!

It's funny how the marathon experience has so closely paralleled National Boards. After I dropped the portfolio in the mail back in March, I felt a little lost. As in, now what? Same thing here. It is hard to believe there's no long run this weekend to eat up a good chunk of the day. Whatever will I do with myself??? :) (Catch up on work, that's what.)

In fact, I will likely work late today to start the catchup process, so it may be a rest day depending on how late it gets. Otherwise, it is time to dust off the dumbbells and do some lifting.

Have a great Wednesday!!

Morning Peeps.

Sorry I never got back here y'day. Day got away from me and then when I got home from MIL's all I wanted to do was go to bed so that's what I did!:p

My work out y'day ended up being the upper body work from one of my new TJ work outs I just got. I added in some chest flys and presses cause she didn't do any chest for some reason. I also did 50 bicycle crunches. I couldn't even do the warm up properly because my left leg wouldn't bed into a squat!!!!

Posh: OMG I am soooo sorry that you had to put up with the same "issues" as me during the marathon. I was even thinking to myself, if this were a full mary I'd never survive it! YAY for you for pushing through!!!!! Loved the pics you posted. Your dog is a cutie and the Cheetahs are all beautiful women. Wish I could have been there.

Shelly: When I read your post y'day about the Frederick Marathon I didn't have time to check which MD mary it was and I was figuring (with my luck) that you were talking about the one that falls really close to my son's birthday. Well, I checked and I was wrong. You picked the one that is the first weekend of May. Great choice!;) I actually want to commit and register for whatever marathon I choose EARLY for motivation. Seems to work for lots of folks so I'm gonna try it. :) So you really want to SLOG 26.2 with me now or will you run it "Shelly style" ? :D Thanks for the inane babble. This is why I like to listen to music. I need something to keep my mind off of what I'm doing. Inane babble or music...they both work! ;) Thanks re the pacing. It worked out well. I just wish I didn't have the belly issues. That totally bums me out. :(

Cathy: I'll be totally honest with ya, I was sort of kicking myself for NOT giving more consideration to running in Chicago once I found myself considering the philly full in November. After the run I had on Sunday though, I am soooo happy it was not a full marathon I was doing. Just a bad set of circumstances to have surrounding any kind of long endurance race. UGH. At any rate, no matter what, I would love to meet the Cheetahs in Chi-town in 09 for some fun if at all possible. I'll make sure I practice up on my cheerleading skills if I am not running it. ;)
SLOG, ey? LOL I am so happy Posh took ownership of the term. Now it won't bother me anymore. :) I would actually like to run today but Joey gets out of school at 12:50 which leaves me no time since I am working. I don't normally work wednesdays but with having mon and fri off this week I figured I might as well make up one of the missed shifts and the gal who normally works today was more then happy to give 'em up! :D

Karen: Glad you are lovin' the roller right now. I am too. Gettin' really close to good as new! My legs feel TONS better this morning then they did y'day!

Christine: Glad you had an awesome time in Chi-town. You did an outstanding job as "head cheerleader"! ;) My race pics may take a few days. New camera and I still have to load the program it comes with into the PC before I can download the pics. OOPS! LOL "Tour De Stupid"?? LMBO! Too funny. Well, have fun training! Sounds super intense! You can do it!:)

Carole: Thanks. :) I never fully dismissed the full mary idea. I was just feeling overwhelmed with the training but now that I've gone 18 it's only 8.2 more miles...I GOTTA DO IT! Strongly considering MD at the beginning of May. It's the Frederick Marathon that Shelly mentioned she liked the looks of. You are awesome for jumping in there with Cathy! Glad you had a good time. I hope to make it next year.

Judy: Oooh an HM. GO FOR IT!!!! :)

Linda: No experience here whatsoever but I can't see why you would need to give up upper body weights. I wouldn't. Perhaps not lifting at all for that final week prior as Cathy had mentioned but that's as far as I'd go.

Dallas: Thanks for posting the pics in the Cheetah group. Loved them. I'm so glad you were able to meet up with the Cheetahs after all. :)

Hello Jackie and Gloria!

Okay, all caught up and now I REALLY gotta go get ready for work! BB this afternoon!

Ciao!:)

Good Morning Cheetahs!

Gloria – Glad the testing went smoothly! We have STAR testing once a year for all grades (except 12th). It happens in April and lasts a week. The kids hate it.

Cathy – Yeah, I liked the photo (except my red face!). I hear a lot about the post race let down. I think that’s why a lot of people jump on board with another challenge. Are you planning on keeping a base run of something like 10-12 miles just to keep a level of fitness? Hope you get to have some fun lifting! Oh, I’m going to die on the Tour di Stupid! But, it will be fun to do with a group of female cyclists. I know some of them are not so fast, so that’s good.

Wendy – Hope your left leg is squat worthy today! :p Great workout yesterday! I cannot wait to see your photos! I’ll bet you and Shelly had a great time!! We will have to do this again sometime but all in the same spot.

I ate well yesterday so I’m feeling good today! I got up early so I can do 90 minutes on the trainer with Mike today. I’ll warm up with some core work. DH leaves for somewhere tonight (he told me and I cannot remember…). He’ll be back tomorrow – so it’s a quick trip. I think I’m going to skip the debate tonight and watch “The Boleyn Girls”. I read the book – I’m interested in seeing the movie. And it’s sooo not DH’s type of movie. I’m going to roast a chicken in the crock pot. We’ll see how that goes. Hope everyone has a great day!

Christine- Chicken roasted in the crock pot is a winner. It makes the kitchen smell great!

Yesterday was a day of :mad:irritating interruptions:mad:, but I won't bore you here. Let me just highlight that it ended with DH and I dismantling the washing machine to retrieve my engagement ring. On a good note today is the 31st anniversary of the 'First Date with DH '

I have to go read yesterdays thread and get to a Kettle Bell workout. Hopefully I'll BBL.

Good morning Cheetahville!!!!!

Ahhhhh, it's sooooo nice to be home for good now! Got home late last night (10:00) but, even though I was positively exhausted (started at 3am yesterday:confused: and didn't stop moving all day), the first thing I did when I walked in the door was run and turn on the computer:D. I only had enough juice in me to scan through the last few day's posts (will have more time tonight) but I'm so thrilled that everyone had fabulous races this weekend!

GIGANTO CONGRATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cathy and Posh - The pics and race reports made me well up. I'm so proud of you gals!!! I was sooooooooo worried about you Sunday, knowing what the forecast was going to be. Way to push through!

Christine and Carole - You gals are the best cheering section out there. Thanks for representin' yo!

Wendy - WOOOOHOOO on the fabulous time! Amazing determination to push through all those, ahem, "issues".

Shelly - Crackin' up over the "Eye of the Tiger" serenade! SO glad that you and Wendy got to run together again!!!

I'm so, so sorry that that's all I have time for right now. I am off today, but still have to go into work (sheesh, does it ever end?) to ride one of the nags so the owner can have a lesson on it tomorrow. Then it's off to the tax man to file *another* extension, then grocery shop, then, gosh, who knows *shrugs*. I WILL get back here tonight though.

Love ya babes! Have a great day!

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...Little snippets of things came back to me all day yesterday too. I told everyone how much fun I had only having to run 13! Observing a marathon like that is really a treat. Like I said it was my pleasure to run with you and help when I could...:). I had a lot of fun rooming with Christine too. I didn't check out the RW forums. No way I see any spinach in your pearly whites! But Christine's observation about tallest to shortest does not take in to consideration the slanted down to the street sidewalk!!! It does feel weird to not have anything you have to do workout wise after a marathon. Good time to relax and not worry...

Gloria...thanks re: the pic. I am glad you are excited about your marathon next year!

Christine...Both dogs were happy to see me, but Beau is bigger than Sadie so he blows through first! Funny about the sunburn look...DH told me my face looked sunburned on the way home. I told him his did too...:D. First thing I did when I got home was laundry. My DH is not helpful there either. Wow, that "Tour di Stupid" sounds like a killer ride! But I know you are itching to train. I did consider the beer across the road at mile 25...:D, but felt I should stay with Cathy & Donna. I also ate well yesterday and got back to my all "A's" with the nutrition software. Enjoy 90 min with Mike. Chicken in the crock pot is wonderful!!!

Wendy...I really had a fun experience jumping in with Cathy. For a minute I thought some race director might see me and yell, but that never happened and people treated me like I was running the whole mary..:)..The training for a mary will be somewhat tougher than training for the 18 miles. But if you want to do it, that will help a lot!

Jackie...thanks re: the pic and my straight hair...:)..Good workout yesterday.

Judy..thanks re: the pic. I always enjoy seeing the peeps too! It was fun to meeting the cheetahs I had not met yet....I had a great time running with Cathy & Donna, so glad I could.:)...Yes, Beau was quite happy to see me. So, you are considering a HM? Judy...Congrats on the 31st first date anniversary. I have the 30th first date on in Dec...:D

Linda...glad you liked the pic. Fun seeing everyone. I didn't know Power bar had electrolytes...cool! The enlyten tabs dissolve on your tongue. About your question. I have always done upper body up through my tapers. Probably figured a strong upper body helps you through the last hard miles. But I only did endurance workouts and not heavy weight. For sure not everyone will agree...:). Good job with the 5 miles and abs. I think I misposted yesterday, it is your marathon NEXT and then Shelly's next month!!

Posh...you took my dare...:D...Love the avatar!!! What a cute pic of your dog and the medal...:)...I keep saying who cares about the time it takes to finish a mary. You DID IT!!! and that is what counts. It is incredibly hard to run with cramps. Love the pic of you and Cathy and Lance...:D

Shelly..thanks re: the pic and my new do. It does still feel "new" most of the time. Seems much easier to care for now. I have always laughed at some of the marathon supporters and what they shout. Sometimes I am sure I would be far away from tactful!! I just found those electrolytes by accident. They do come in handy for the long, hot, runs. I bet you will do fine in your 20 miler this weekend.

Dallas...Napa is a good 1st mary course too. Might be more spectators these days...:)...one thing is it will not get hot & humid!! It is run through the vineyards so the view is much different than Chicago. I think you should consider it. I liked your pics too, and you do NOT have a big butt!!!

Today will be B&G standing and a 5 mile run. Had some jetlag yesterday, but feel more normal (if that is possible!) today...

Have a great day...:)

Hi Girls!

DS bus will be here, so I'll keep it short and sweet for now. I just got home from the stairs and errands. I had to go all sweaty. Ewww! Anyway, it was humid and the stair workout was super tough today! Darn humidity. I also have some lingering DOMS from that iBiClimb. Boy, Grace really got me! Anyway, I did Amy's APX upper body and abs premix. That's LONG!!! However, it's good. :) I cut the 10 minute stretch because I had to wake the kids.

~BBIAB for personals :)

Happy Sunday! ..oops I mean Wednesday! LOL

Top o’ the mornin’ Cheetahs!

I took so much time last night reading over the Chicago stuff on the Runner’s World discussion boards that I didn’t have time to post personals last night. Wow, Cathy was right, soooo many runners with varying time goals had ‘melt downs” that day. Jeez, I guess we did way rock to even be able to finish in the conditions! Still, Chicago is MUuUUYY KindA TOWN...:D

Thanks again ya’ll for the kudos – youze guys RULE!

Gloria – Your’e a busy teach these days and I admire how organized you are! Congrats on committing to your marathon; sounds like it will be a beautiful run! You’re going to be great I’m sure. But you know, you still would have time to come to Chicago for the “2nd Annual Chicago Cheetahfest” in 09! LOL

Cathy – Chicago 09 – It’s ON baby!...lol..Chyeah right, I’m sooo photogenic ….pfffft. Yap, although hills seem viscous at times, I agree that they’ve helped the recovery times. I’m such a screwball that I am craving a nice rolling 5 miler this Saturday! LOL I hear ya on not knowing what to do with myself without a plan…that’s why I MIGHT commit to NAPA to help kick my bootay and keep myselves in line…lol Hope you ain’t workin’ too hard today, Teach…

Wendy – I agree, the Cheetahs ARE beautiful women – inside and out! Again, great job on your 18 miler. I think you’ll do fine with a full marathon and the training involved. I mean shoot, you have Coach Shelly and she serenades too! LOL. Ya’ll need to plan for Chicago tho…

Christine – The Cheetah’s “HEAD CHEERLEADER” Yah baby! You so ROCK girl! Still on the high from meeting and hangin’ out with all you fab gals! Make sure to clear the calendar, dearie, for the Cheetahfest in Chicago – we gotsta have our top Cheerleader ya know? Sounds like you just got right in and busted a move when you got home..lol Not me, I was a lazy slug… Enjoy your chicken and movie evening….with DH only being gone overnight, guess you really can’t order anything this time, huh?...lol

Judy – Oh thank you again for praying for us Chi town Cheetahs. I’m not kidding when I say I think it, the cheetah power (vibes), and the lucky ladybug really helped me finish…you’re a jewel! Sorry about your engagement ring and dismantling the appliances but I think I would have done the same! Happy 1st date anniversary! Are we bustin’ out the CAKEBREAD?!?!?!? lol….you have to come to Chicago…;)

Wendi! Welcome back! Thanks for the kind words girl! You HAVE to tell bosshole today, that the second weekend in October 09’ you won’t be available because you’ll be in Chicago! LOL

Carole – our Super Carole! You so rock too for supportin’ our girl, Cathy and coming to cheer in Chi town. Hey, no worries about that pacing stuff because whilst reading the Runner’s World threads, many peeps noted about friends jumping in at so and so mile to run with them. Heck the guy giving beer at mile 25 was doing it in front of the cops, and there were many runners with headphones, so obviously the “rules” are not enforced… So, Coach Carole, pm or email me the proposed training plan for Napa – it will help motivate the next month of whippin’ me selves azzes into keeping the clean eating and be consistent with work outs to see if I’m up to committing to Napa … Ah heck, who am I kidding; I’m so stoked already that I’m leaning to a YEAH! Of course you’ll be coming to Chicago for the repeat, right? Oh, yah, lol, I took the dare! LOL…

Shelly – Way to go pacing our Wendi lou for a great finish! You did fabulous too, congratulations! How bout’ coming to Chicago in 09’? LOL…

Linda – WOW, you have done some serious training, girl. You are ready for your marathon and you’re gonna do great! Just think of all the Cheetah power coming your way during the race and trust me, it will keep you motivated to power on! Thanks for all your kind words, you’re a sweetie too! I agree with Cathy, if your friend can’t make it to Chicago then, tell her you’ll be going without her! lol

Dallas – GIMMEE A BRUUUUAAAAKE –UH! Chyeah, you have a big butt just like I’m as thin as Paris Hilton! Geez, woman, you’re in some very, very fit shape AND you’re very pretty so no, no, no, you’re not allowed to say you have a big butt…lol Loved the pics of your lil’ goalie! Oh, and yep, Carole is right, the conditions in Napa will be great for running – no hot no humid that time of year and the course is pretty even for the season. But of course you can come for the wine too! LOL… I guess I don’t have to sell you on Chicago 09 cuz you’re gonna be there already!

Karen – Glad your calf is better – gotta love the foam roller, eh? Congrats on a great run though – way to push through with that pain. This is a bunch of marathoning cheetahs, eh? Are you ready for Chicago 09?

Sunny – HI THERE! Glad to see you stop in! Congrats on your hoppin’ career. That would be way cool if you could come to Chicago!

Jackie – Hey girl, thanks for the kind words. I’m sure you’re going to be fine for the half in December. You are consistent, driven and have some solid workouts going on, so I’m sure you’re going to be great for training. You HAVE to consider coming to Chicago 09’! Even if you don’t want to run, I’m sure HCC Christine will give you an assignment…lol

Ok, hope I didn’t leave anyone out…

Have a good one Ya’ll!

Judy – now you have me excited for dinner. :p This one is a lemon chicken. Should be very good. Enjoy your kettlebell workout! I’m going to concentrate on those up until my big ride.

Wendi – I’ll be happy to cheer for you, too, should you decide to run a marathon! :p Glad you’re home safe and sound! Enjoy your nagging *grins*. And have a great day!

Carole – Yeah, Jimmy is bigger than Kimo so he blows through, too – plus they are still pups without too many manners instilled. So nice to be so loved – eh? I had a lot of fun rooming with you, too. Sorry I fell asleep on you at the end of 3rd quarter!! I was so tired. Yeah the Tour Di Stupid is named that for a reason. At least I’ll be with 4-5 other riders. Sounds like a good workout you’re doing today!

Dallas – if you have a big butt, I’d hate to know what mine is called. Oh, nothing like running errands all hot and sweaty! Yeah APX is a long workout. It’s a goodie though!

Thomasina – you DO rock – you and Cathy! It was a tough marathon with that heat and you both ran extremely well!! I was thinking of overnighting a HRM. :p Mine is flakey and drives me absolutely bonkers. So you caught me out. I so enjoyed meeting you and Beryl! You are as rocking in person as you are on the boards!

Well DH is headed for Atlanta. I did have to ask him as I had totally forgotten. I ended up doing my ab workout followed by Mental Toughness on my bike. Got in a nice workout. Hope everyone is doing good!

Good morning Cheetahs!

Gloria - That's great that you've decided to do a marathon. Understand those busy days totally.

Cathy - Glad to hear Chicago has inspired you to do the marathon again next year. Hopefully, I'll have my vacations back on track and I can at least cheer you on. LOL at you wondering what you will do this weekend. :D You know we always find something to fill in the gap.

Wendy - Nice workout for you yesterday. Is the leg bending now?

Christine - Sounds like a nice day for you. Did you and Mike have a nice workout on the trainer? Think I'll be going between Project Runway and the debate tonight. I'll see which one everntually wins out. Hope DH has a safe trip. Enjoy that roasted chicken. Hmm, nice and tender!

Judy - Wow on the ring! Glad you were able to save it from the mean old washer. Happy First Date Anniversary.

Wendi - Welcome back! Hope you can get some rest in after riding the old nag. :p

Carole - Glad your babies were happy to see you. How's your mom? Enjoy B&G and your run. Glad the jetlag is gone. I can handle gaining an hour or so better than losing.

Dallas - Yay for the DOMS. I don't usually do the squats in iBi because they hurt my knees. Grace has another one that she does some sculpting in. I think it's iTread 11. I like the iTri's a lot because of the changes. You don't get bored with one thing.

Posh - Liked the pic of your dog with the medal around his neck. Like I said to Cathy, I hope my vacations are back on track for 2009. I can't remember a year that I haven't gone on a vacation in a long time. I hope the marathon falls on Columbus Day holiday weekend again. Thanks for the encouragement for the half.

Today's workout was Strength Training by Rob Glick. Really enjoyed the workout and looking at the man. ;) This is one you could grow with and he emphasizes increasing the weight when you're ready. It had some compound moves in it. I started with 10# since it was the first time doing the workout. Could have gone heavier for back and squats but had to drop down with some of the compound moves. It wasn't a dread factor to it at all. Looking for some DOMS too.

Have a wonderful day everyone!

Cathy – Thanks for the information and opinion on the weights! So, this morning I did a Tri’s and Shoulders from CTX. CTX is endurance, isn’t it? I thought maybe I will do that till the last week? Do you think that sounds okay? And I agree 100% with you on the lower body and hills! I’ll bet is really is a weird feeling not to have to worry about getting in a long run, or having a “specific” training schedule to do! Man, you are right….the long runs sure do take a big chunk out of your day, don’t they? I wonder when registration for Chicago opens for ’09? I registered for Marshall and my Distance Run the day they opened….just so I would (hopefully) not back out! As soon as Chicago opens…..my plan is to register! (if you are sure you want to do that one again!)

Gloria – I’ll bet that will be an awesome marathon! I’ll bet it will be really pretty, being that It is around the lake! Is it hot, cool, or what there at that time of year?

Wendy – Thanks, yes, I think that is what I am going to do. And then stop it the last week. Was it because of your knee that you couldn’t bend into a squat? Ouch! Which new TJ workout did you get? I love TJ! I think I have them all, but if there is something I am missing, I want to know! ;)

Christine – Enjoy your time with “Mike”! Yummy! The chicken in the crock pot sounds good! I’ll bet your house will be smelling good! Is that movie a DVD…or is it on tv, HBO...?

Judy – Oh my goodness! I do hope you found your engagement ring! Awww! Happy anniversary! Enjoy your KB workout!

Wendi – Glad you are home!!! Hope everything has been well with you! Missed you the past couple of days! Enjoy your day! Hope you are totally recovered from your infection!

Carole – Thanks for your opinion on the weights! I think that is what I will do. Do you consider CTX “endurance”? The PowerBar electrolytes are pretty handy! I need to remember to put a couple of little packs in my shorts pockets for the marathon! I will definitely pick up some of the strips you were talking about! Yes, I do think my marathon is a little before Shelly’s. It’s 11/02  Your planned workout sounds good! I miss my lower body work!

Dallas – LOL….that iBiClimb really sounds brutal with the DOMS! Yuck! Humidity and I do not get along! Great job on your Amy Upper body premix! Hey that is something I should pull out! I keep forgetting my Amy Strength workouts!

Posh – I agree! It sounds like so many people ending up collapsing, etc in the heat! You guys did wonderful! Like I said to Cathy, I am not sure if I could have done a full marathon in the heat. I had trouble with cramps in the humidity and heat for my 15 mile race in August! I will definitely be thinking of you guys during mine! How are ya feeling now?

Jackie – I love that Rob Glick workout! He is a cutie, isn’t he ;) Good job on your workout!

This morning I ran 4 miles and did CTX Tri’s, and shoulders. I also did the 1st Core Max section.

Hey to everyone!! I will check back a little later!

HI Again!

Oh boy, more family drama...I dare not even go there! I just got off the phone w/my sister, but the good news is while talking I got dinner in the oven. Should be done just in time for when the kids get home. :)

Wouldn't that be fun for the whole Cheetah thread to do Chicago '09!??!! Posh, keep it coming!!! :D

Linda ~ You know that workout really creeps up on you, but that small leg portion really snuck up on me! I was trying to figure out what to do since I messed up BBC weight this week. Glad I thought of Amy's premixes too. :) Nice workout today!

Jackie ~ I'm not a huge fan of compound exercise, but I know I should give them a fair try. I just didn't click w/Jari. :( Maybe I'll give that Glick a try. Thanks for the new iTread recommendations...I think! ;) Hope you get my DOMS. lol

Christine ~ lol'd about the "Tour di Stupid" Sounds fun! I'm curious what you think of that movie! I saw it without reading the book. I was surprised. Glad you had a nice encounter w/Mike. :) Your dh could read all your text messages while in Chicago? You should have told me we could have said some funny things about him. :p;):) Or he was reading them when you got home? How tall are you? You have those nice long legs. :) I'm only 5'4". I didn't notice the tallest to shortest thing until you mentioned it. See it's Carole's camera :p...look at my picture your face is not red at all. :) It's under my pictures on here.

Posh ~ I knew two people that dropped out of the race because they had read what the conditions were going to be. I didn't want to say anything to you and Cathy though. You two are tough!!! What?!!? Two marathons in one year now!?! Are you doing both??? Oh well, thanks for the compliment. I don't like my picture taken either. How is Beryl's hip?

Carole ~ Are you doing both Napa and Chicago?? Is that highly recommended to do two in one year as a newbie? That's some workout you have planned today. Enjoy! That's what was different about you, it was your straight hair. Although, I've never met you the pictures I've seen of you, your hair was curly. I do like it! :)

Wendi ~ Welcome back home! You sure have a lot planned today. Good luck getting it all done.

Judy!!! ~ You're ring! Whew, so glad you retrieved it! Congrats on your first date anniversary. We have #13 wedding anniversary coming up next week. Where did all that time go?

Wendy ~ How's your leg now? I say you did a fine job on your race despite the belly issues!! :) Can't wait to see your race pictures. I never ordered my half picture. I guess I should for "my eyes only". ha ha It was really bad.

Cathy ~ DOH! I sent you the email w/the Hal link. Well, my TNT coach sent it to me. I skimmed the thread and thought of you and Posh immediately. I'm glad I'm still on her email list. I requested a copy of their training schedule. Oh boy, here I go. ;) I was wondering if you were going to have that "let down" feeling. I kind of did after the half, but then got caught in all the stress w/dh and my mil. It won't be long before you'll hear about the NB now, right? ETA: I've been meaning to ask, where did you end up going for pizza Sunday?

Gloria ~ When is your marathon? Don't worry about the length of your posts, just glad you can get here.

Shelly ~ Did you end up doing Rumble or ITR? I know Amy sent me an email with the dates, but I can't find it. I'll have to mosey on over to her site at some point. I don't want to miss the presale. I know people were yelling, "Almost there..." at mile 9 for my half. At least 4.1 miles was better than 15! lol

HI to any Cheetah who checks in after I post.

Have a great day!

Hey, girls—

Had a few interruptions after school, so I brought some work home. But I may just save it for a marathon grading session this weekend given the fact that I’m having trouble keeping the eyelids open. *lol*

Wendy—so what’s up with your left leg? Is this the knee that was bothering you? Don’t worry—we won’t let you miss the Chicago fun the second time around. Actually, I think one could still lift during the final week of a taper.

Christine—I love the shot I have of you and Carole at Pizzeria Due…I’m going to use the one of all of us at LaFontanella for my mousepad at work. Good times!...I don’t know if it’s letdown I feel because I am still on a high, but I do feel slightly lost. J I don’t think I will be able to stay awake for the debate. I’ve had enough of it all, anyway…After this easy week, my plan is to run 4 days a week, 15-20 mileage for now. So didja order the HRM???

Judy—happy anniversary of your first date. I’m glad you recovered your ring. Yikes!

Wendi—thanks so much for the congrats. Hope you were able to squeeze in a little “you” time today. How do you feel? Infection all cleared up?

Carole—you are in many of the official race photos, so you will probably soon have a place on my wall. *lol* Heck, I didn’t know you were willing to make a beer run! Why didn’t you say so? Even Bud Light would have been palatable at that point…I think you are right about the u/b strength helping. I believe my lack of u/b training in the last month probably made a difference (negatively) with how my shoulders felt. I did well yesterday on so few hours of sleep, but I think it hit me today. It was an especially hectic day at school. This TV tech situation is starting to wear thin.

Dallas—Sorry about the family drama. How is MIL?…so, it’s still humid there, huh? I thought the cold front was coming. IMHO, you could safely do two—Napa and Chicago are spaced apart quite nicely. J Ya know, I really don’t feel “let down”—I’m a little tired today, but honestly, I’m still feelin’ the euphoria of it all. It’s just a little odd that there is no long run to schedule for the weekend. It’ll be nice, though, ‘cause I have to catch up on schoolwork that I’ve fallen behind on. Story of my life. *lol*…We went to Pizzeria Due on Michigan and Ohio. Our waiter was a little “off it,” but the pizza was good. I think I prefer Gino’s East, though…I will hear about NB mid or late November. It's gettin' close!

Posh—hey, cute new avatar. J I got sucked in over at RW, too. Totally share your feelings about Chicago. How’s Ms. Beryl feeling? *lol* about your “mixed-up” days of the week. Napa is calling! I need to do some serious digging re: flights.

Jackie—So Rob Glick’s a hottie, huh? Now my curiosity has been piqued. I associated his name with complex step, for some reason…Yes, it’s very interesting—at some point in the latter part of my training, I started to kind of enjoy something about the long runs, much to my own surprise, and I suspected that I might do another someday. Then, during the actual marathon itself, I decided I must be insane. *lol* But as I crossed the finish line, I just felt this wouldn’t be it for me. I knew instantly I wanted to do this again. What can I say? I’m a masochist. J But I’m a middle school teacher, so you knew that. *ha ha* I’m not positive, but I think Chicago is always the second Sunday of October.

Linda—I *think* Chicago opens sometime in February…CTX seems fine to me. I would just do as Carole advised and not go heavy. That seems to make the most sense. You want to be active but not deplete yourself. I think I would see how you feel. I was time-crunched the past few weeks, but I also *felt* a bit rundown (like I might be catching a cold—and in fact, I feel like that now again), so even though I felt like I lost a little strength after a month of no lifting, I kind of think it was the best thing for me under the circumstances. The best thing, IMO, is to listen to your body, and whatever you do in the final week, don’t push too hard. Those are my rookie thoughts on it. Of course, I defer to the cheetah masters Carole, Posh, and the Shellynator…Oh yes, I am positive I’d like to do Chicago again. But I can definitely see destination marathoning—combining two things I love, travel and slogging. J

Well, I am opting for a rest day—baggin' my tentative workout AND the work. *lol* I just feel like I need it. Feel guilty about the work, but I can't fight the call for zzz's. Especially since tomorrow I will have to be at school until 8 pm. So, next workout will be another easy run on Friday.

Have a great night, all! :)

Hi Cheetahs!

DH misunderstood that dinner will be next week. Thank goodness! My neighbor's car still isn't fixed so I had to pick him up today after work and have to take him to work at the same early time tomorrow. Trying to get everything ready so I can workout tomorrow. I am off on Friday for a conference in the Upper Peninsula (3 hours away), but we will have to meet at the high school at 5:45 a.m. so no workout that day. At least I get to go over the Mackinac Bridge and see the big water. We will be in Sault St. Marie, right on Lake Superior and we will be able to see Canada on the other side! That is a bonus.

Quick note for Cathy: I will be hearing Marzano speak!

4 mile run today and will do the DM cardio tomorrow. I am sore from lifting.

Will post personal in the morning!

Thinking of you all! Hope all is good!

Sorry haven't been around today. I had to finish school then laundry, then my parents laundry. Grocery store and then make the parents bed up from earlier. Busy Day. I just wanted to pop in and say

WENDI- I made the chicken chilie and it is the best ,most wonderful, excellent, fantastic chilie EVER. I just got finished making and eating it and my one dd would not leave me alone. She told me she wants it for breakfast. I told her lunch instead.

Please make this soup girls. It's the best ever.

Calf is still on the mend. Did XT today but skipped anything with lunges or squats.

Evening Cheetahs!

Linda - Rob is definitely not hard to look at. Do you have any more of his workouts? Nice run and weight work.

Dallas - Family drama all settled? Your DOMS have made it here. The legs and glutes are really feeling it. Hope I can run in the morning.

Cathy - Think all the training and the marathon is finally catching up with you? Guess knowing you want to do another marathon is like knowing when you've met your soulmate. It just feels right. I've really enjoyed reading about your highs and lows and your excitement. I'll have to see where Columbus Day is falling next year.

Gloria - Good job on the 4 miles!

Karen - How is your mom? Closer to the surgery yet? Glad the calf is feeling better.

Need to see what iTread I want to do tomorrow for my 5 miles. Have a good night.
