Cheetahs Wednesday

Cathlete
Good Morning Ladies!:)

After work I will be tackling BBC Shoulders and Back w/abs and some kind of cardio. I was supposed to do chest and abs with the bbc cardio but my tri's and calves are still screaming at me for Monday's work out so I had to change it up.

Time for more coffee...BBL!:9

Good morning, cheetahs! http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee296/runninteach/th_happy-038.gif http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee296/runninteach/th_happy-038.gif http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee296/runninteach/th_happy-038.gif

Quick post. I’ve gotta get ready for my doc appt. Need to leave early since it’s in the city, and who knows what kind of traffic I’ll hit.

Wendy :: Here ya go… http://www.millan.net/minimations/smileys/lotsocoffee.gif :7 Enjoy shoulders & back along with whatever cardio you decide to do!

Lorie :: how you feelin' today? Have you been back to work or no?…UGH on the meds! Maybe go for an OTC decongestant instead?…I have not been to Vegas in 10 years, so I know all kinds of nice, new hotels have cropped up since then. I’ve heard good things about the Bellagio. *lol* about Girls Next Door. That is one I don’t watch, but you’ll have to give us a report on that one. Hey, if gets to you before you're hitched, maybe Hef’ll want to make you #4.

Hi to everyone else! Have a FAB day! Will BBL. (BTW, today will be the run & abs that I swapped for yesterday.)

Good morning gals!

I was going to try PP today but I picked up the barbell and said "NO WAY"...I'm still too tender, drat! I have a ride-a-thon on tap at work today so that will have to suffice.

Wendy - Those are some serious DOMS to still be hanging with you from Monday.

Cathy - I hope your appt goes well. I'm glad you liked HSC...I'm a personal fan of the 51 min premix. It's just right on time and content. I can't wait to do that one again.

Lorie - I completely forgot to send my congatulations to you!!!! Sorry x(! I've never been to Vegas...never been anywhere, really lol. I don't think you can go wrong with any of them, though. So sorry about the med side-effects...try not to sweat that too much. Just get better!

Waves to all cheetahs to follow! Have a great day everyone.

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy..I didn't do much for my bunion except get wider shoes, and the bit of weight loss I am sure helped. I am sure the dress shoes brought on the bunion pain for you. Can you try wider dress shoes? I am thinking a cattle prod instead of a silly putty hammer! He will work on the floor the next 2 days. We are waiting on some T molding for where the remaining carpet meets the new laminate. Sending good vibes for your Doc(neuro)appt. Let us know how it goes.

Wendy...good job with the iTread workout yesterday!! I do need to find some good butt glue remover for my DH!! I only wish there were just 3 or 4 things he needs to do. Enjoy BBC with Joey today...:)

Wendi...great 8 mile run yesterday!!! It sure feels good shaving off time...:)...Sounds like you had a wonderful meal after too. Yes, those staples are a pain, but I think there are only a few left. JC is sweet and I do think she is happy with us taking her in...I hope you don't feel much pain in the ride-a-thon today.

Christine...thanks re my DH, sometimes it does get to me! Glad Jimmy is doing better and more relaxed. Sounds like you got in a nice run.

Amy...getting more sleep should help this cold to pass faster...Enjoy your workout.

Jackie...thank you...:)...Well my DH is off tomorrow and friday so let's see how much he can get done...Good job with BBC B&L, it is amazing how long 90 secs is...:)

Shelly...hope you had a good 4 mile run and fun with BM2 upper double! Did you get to go for a motorcycle ride?...DH will be working on the floor tomorrow and friday.

Judy...looks like a good rotation for this week. How is the DOMS?...

Lorie...wow, I am sorry for the bronchitis and sinusitis. Be careful with the prednisone, my DH was prescribed that for his sinusitis but a friend of our family who is a nurse told him to get OFF it. Besides the weight gain that stuff can make you a real b@!*ch , as it alters the mood something awful...:(..I do hope you feel better for the weekend. When are you going to LV?

I woke up feeling a damn cold sore this morning!! At least the meds I have take care of it quickly so it does not take over my face! I am doing GS Bi's and Tri's today, I am doubling up since I didn't do a GS workout monday. Then a 4-5 mile run...

Have a great day...:)

Wendy-have fun with BBC. i got it last weeek but have not been able to use it yet. maybe next week. do you like it? i have heard really good things. i'm hoping DF will join me since there are men on it.

Cathy-i have not been back to work yet. i feel better today and think i will feel good enough to go to work tomorrow. LOL about hef! i think i'll stick with DF!!!

Wendi-i hope you survive your ride-athon!!!

Carole-i did get on the scale this moring and funny enough, i actually lost a pound! i think it's from not having much of an appetite and not exercising. at any rate, i think the pred might be working (or any combo of the millions of meds i am on) so i am going to take it until it gives me side effects. the one bad side effect i noticed was after i took my second dose (in the evening) i COULD NOT fall asleep until 4 AM!!! the doctor told me it might give me insomnia. so, i may try to skip that dose. i'm going to call the doctor and see what he suggests. i just want to get better! cold sores stink! i am glad you have some meds to help it.

so, no workout for me today. i'm just going t stay in bed, drink lots of fluids, and rest. i hope to be back to work tomorrow.

Good morning Cheetahs!

I can't seem to fight this cold.

I did wake up at 5AM to do Cathe's Basic Step workout. Perfect! I worked up a sweat and that is what I wanted!

Maybe I should read more into this on the website, but does anyone know when Cathe's new workout is being mailed? I preordered over the summer and can't wait to check it out!

Thanks ladies!

Have a great Hump Day all!

Amy, be careful because i had a cold that just wouldn't go away and now i am fighting a nasty case of bronchitis and a sinus infection! take it easy.

i hope you start feeling better.

Good morning lovely cheetahs and happy Hump day! I'll be heading out soon to do a 3 mile rocky steep trail run. I rarely do this one because you really have to watch your feet but I figured it would give me good preparation for next Sat.

Lorie- Wow, you really got hammered poor thing! Predisone does nothing for an infection, rather it is for the acute inflammation which I believe is actually your major problem. This often occurs with asthma/bronchitis attacks. I still believe your problem was mainly allergic in nature given the sudden onset but your doc is being wise and covering all the bases. Anyway, I'd say prednisone is definitely warranted in your case. Most people tolerate low doses just fine. I'm guessing you'll feel like a new woman in a couple of days:) When are you going to LV? I'll be there in December for my second marathon attempt. (The 2nd)

Wendi- Congrats on a great 8 mile run yesterday! I'm glad your boss let you have a little break! Have a good ridathon today!

Judy- Your iTread/tennis workout day sounded tiring:eek: How was your latest trip anyway?

Wendy- Nice itread run yesterday... sounds like your speed is definitely improving:) Have fun with Joey :* and the BBC today.

Carole- Well, DH and I got distracted with shopping so no motorcycle ride yesterday:( We finally broke down and purchased a good quality vacuum cleaner- A Dyson "Animal". With 3 dogs and 2 cats we are inundated with pet hair. I must say it does live up to it's reputation. I am amazed at the results of one use.
Hope you get in a good Bi-Tri day!!

Amy- The latest re: the new workouts is that they have been sent to Sony for the final duplicating stages and Cathe and Co. are waiting to hear from them. I'm guessing it'll be towards the end of Oct. or possibly early Nov before we get out eager hands on these, but who knows? I'm sorry to hear you are so determined to go into work being sick. You are doing no one (i.e- the kids) or yourself any good!! Sorry for the lecture, being an RN I just can't help myself sometimes! I sincerely hope you do feel better soon!

Time to get moving here. I'll be doing some serious ab work also when I get back from my run.
Have a good one y'all.

ShellyC

Shelly, i have a dyson animal and it is wonderful!!! i am amazed at how much it picks up! i don't use the attachments (i should) but the vacuum is amazing.

as for the meds, the doc did say it was most likely an allergic reaction because of the immediate onset but since i was coughing up colored "stuff" i also think he wanted to cover his bases. i think i can already feel the prednisone working because i am not as wheezy as i was.

we will be in vegas 28 november until 3 december. i would love to come cheer you on! keep me posted!!!

Good morning ladies,
I am up and ready for Gs chest and triceps, EEK!!! My dang hip flexor is still sore from the other day, so I am not sure if I will do any cardio or leg work. I may do butts and gutts without any weights. Or, maybe a low impact step workout. I did the elliptical yesterday and it had been awhile and it felt so good. I really want to run, but I think I need to get rid of this hip flexor thing first:)

I have been so busy with my girls. I decided to put my little one in brownies, and oh my, what a lot of time I have to put in it. I try not to overschedule my girls, but they really needed something extra besides all the homework, UGH!

I am sorry to hear about some of our sick cheetahs! Get well soon ladies.

I have no time for personals, but wanted to pop in and say hi!

CHeers!

Susan

Hey guys. I'm here just to say HI and give you a quickie update on me and why I haven't been checking in with you Fine Cheetahs as of late.

After the RT, I needed to regroup and figure out WHY I kept sabotaging my fitness efforts. Starting this past Monday, I committed to Body For Life, and officially OFFICIALLY joined the Challenge. The way of eating is simply clean, the weight workouts are super HEAVY, and the cardio is short but HIIT. I needed to jump start my goals again, and I have some serious goals that I WANT TO REACH by Christmas.

SO....I'm taking some time off of running. I'm using the TM for some of my HIIT to keep some running mileage, and I'm signed up for a few short races between now and The New Year. Then, starting Jan 1, after hitting my Christmas goals, I will begin training for my half in April.

Thanks for understanding my need to refocus and regroup. I feel awesome and CONFIDENT, so in January, you'll see a new ME!

Gayle

Hey there! I'm back from a 3.5 mile trail run. The loop was a little longer than I thought, I haven't done this one for quite a while. Anyway, it's a pretty rocky twisty narrow trail so I had to go pretty slow But it still was enjoyable.

Lorie- Wow! How exciting that you'll be in LV when I'm there! We MUST get together sometime:) Did you know that Carole was working on going also? She and one of her sisters want to run the half and the other is going along for support and fun. She is working on plane and hotel reservations so hopefully it will happen. The LV marathon headquarters is at Mandalay Bay but DH and I are staying at the Luxor, right next to it. We will be there Fri, Sat and Sunday of that weekend.

Amy- You're a sweetie, thanks for taking my annoying butinsky RN
lecturing in stride;-) ;-)

Susan- Eee gads, you don't need another injury girl! I hope this hip flexor thingy clears up soon. I had no idea that the Brownies were such an intense commitment!! But they do look so cute in their little outfits!

Gayle- I've been noticing your posts about your Body for Life challenge committment. I've heard alot of good things about this program. Having met you in person at the RT I'm a bit puzzled why you feel you need such a shake up though, I think you are already in awesome shape! Anway, best of luck to you and I'm glad to hear you are doing well!

Time to go do some abs. I'll be doing the abs from BM2 and B&G!

ShellyC

Hi Ladies!

It'll have to be a quick check in today, sorry. I actually did weights this morning. I did BMax 2 UB x2 and enjoyed it. I'll do some yoga over lunch. I just wanted to switch things up a bit as I'm still a bit off from my illness (I've been eating like a pig again, and I HAVE to stop!) I haven't gained weight, but if I don't stop chowing I will! I also ordered a new yoga video called "The Pleasure of Strength" by Ana Forrest. Her story is rather inspiring as she was born a cripple and is now a yoga instructor. I've heard her workouts are really good. I'll let you know what I think.

Have a good one everyone! I'll try to be back with personals.

shelly, i looked it up and am actually toying with the idea of running the half. i have my half on thanksgiving day so this one would be a good long run. i am thinking about it...i would like to but i don't want DF (who will them be DH!) to be bored because i will have to get to bed early on our saturday there and prepare for the race. he's not the type that would really care, but i do have to remember why we are going out there. i would love to do it, though.

i am freaking out a bit because it does not look like i will be running for a while and i don't want to lose the conditioning i have worked on. i was finally getting fasater. ugh! so frustrating. then again, since i can't even go up my stairs without getting winded, there is absolutely no way i could attempt a w/o!

we DEFINTELY will have to all get together. a little cheetah wedding par-tay! yay!

Hey there, cheetahs! http://s228.photobucket.com/albums/ee296/runninteach/th_happy-038.gif

Wendi :: you must be burnin’ some serious calories out there with those ride-a-thons! Hope that rib doesn't take much longer to heal for ya. I will definitely try that premix next. Maybe Friday. I *so* enjoyed that one!

Carole :: *lol* about the cattle prod. Glad it got him moving…I look forward to seeing pics of the finished product…How’re JC & CiCi adapting to one another?…I do have some dress shoes with a wider toe box…for some reason, the foot is bothering me more lately…and I am at the lowest weight I have been for a few years now…I better break out my seriously-ugly-teacher-shoes for awhile. *lol* Sorry ‘bout the cold sore. Glad the meds nip it pretty quickly.

Lorie :: Glad the prednisone is NOT having the dreaded side effects! Hope you are feeling good enough to go back to work. A two-day week sounds sweeeet!…Don’t worry about losing any conditioning…I’m sure you’ll bounce right back as soon as you lick this thing! VERY cool that you’ll be meeting up with some West Coast cheetahs while out there!!!

Amy :: *sending you some Cyber Chicken Soup & lots of vitamin C to fight that beast*

Shelly :: hope you enjoyed your rocky run out there today.

Susan :: ACK! Sorry ‘bout the sore hip flexor. Take it easy and let us know when the cookie sales begin. :7

Gayle :: good to see ya! Good luck with your new training plan. Sounds intriguing. I don’t know anything about it, so I may pop over there just to see what it entails. I have also gotten serious about my goals and joined WW a couple of weeks ago. So far, so good. It's what I needed to re-focus.

Christine :: I’m glad you’ve gone gonzo w/ yoga and are trying out all these new vids! Will be curious to see what you think. I have been struggling with my appetite the past few days, too.

The neuro appt. seemed to take forever this morning...an hour to get there (on account of the traffic) and another hour-and-a-half before I was seen by the doc. The exam itself then took all of 10 minutes. *lol* Basically, doc confirmed that the abnormality seen on the MRI is nothing serious (no MS, stroke, or tumor) and that it's probably been there since birth. He did not draw any correlation between the headaches or the double vision and didn't provide any insight about why the migraines are on the rise. I left a little disappointed, to tell you the truth. I didn't think anything was seriously wrong w/ me, but I'd hoped to get some answers. I plan to see a local neuro who might be a little more interested in finding out what’s behind the increased migraines and headaches and what can be done about it. Anyway, just thought I’d share.

Time now to suit up and hit the streets! BBL!

cathy, so sorry you didn't get the answers you were looking for but at least it was confirmed that it is nothing serious.

Thanks, ladies!

Shelly-you're too kind. lol I've been floundering around for a while now, months, actually, and didn't really feel like I had an ending goal. The bottom line was that I wasn't happy with where I was overall. I'd be 100% dedicated for 2 weeks, then my eating would go south. 2 weeks on, 1 week off....on and on. I needed to refocus and now I've set the goals and WILL REACH THEM!

OH....and did I mention my NEW BOYFRIEND????? lol
