:: CHEETAHS :: Wednesday :: Bust Butt!

Managed to make it back here in time to get in a good kickbox workout with KCM, settle the kitties down and have some lunch... time to tuck myself in for a good nap now.

Christine- you do have a fun workout lined up with some coworkers. You must be quite an inspiration at your workplace. My avatar pic is actually my older dog.. Trooper... got tired of the old avatar pic. He is a Rottweiler/Retriever mix.

Dallas- Sorry you are dealing with some foot pain... which side of the foot? Hope it settles down and doesn't prove to be anything serious.
The 4DS weight workouts really pack a punch in a relatively short amount of time!

Judy- Nice mish mosh of a KB workout for you today! You are likely quite wise in choosing the MP version of STS!

Gloria- I'm sure Pip will be okay in the kennel while Mom gets in her run!!
There is so much to explore with this new site isn't there???

Karen- I'm so delighted to see you are back posting with us again!!!:D
I remember your enthusiasm well. Sorry you've had such a hard time with injuries and other issues.... heres to better (and faster) times ahead!
Yes, I have relocated from Arizona. I'm currently living part time in Philadelphia while working for a travel agency (as an RN) DH and I recently bought property in S. Pa, near the Maryland border... You are in Md right? Anyway, I'll be about 1/2 hr from Hagerstown and may very well end up working there. I plan on running in the Army 10 miler in DC this Oct. also.

Cathy- Like that rotation!! Looks varied and fun... but tough;). Hey, I want that little devil faced smiley... where did it go? Awesome workout for you today to combine a run with those circuits!!! I haven't been going out for any very long runs lately but I have been trying to keep a steady 4 runs / wk up.

Hi Jackie!! Yes, I am counting the days til DH and I are settled in our own home again!! Nice workout! Who does super body sculpt? I know you have an extensive collection... put's mine to shame!

Hey Cheetah Babes!

Fly by for me for right now. Gotta grab a quick snack and jump in the shower. Have to be at the alleys in an hour to prebowl!

Just finished my workout...did 4DS legs and kickbox. Skipped the abs-will add them on to bi's and tri's since I just worked abs y'day! Great work out though. I really *heart* that kickbox routine. I think it's my absolute favorite of Cathe's kickbox. :)

I kept my weights for the leg work at Cathe's weight for most of the exercises since I hadn't done that routine in a while...I didn't want to kill myself right out of the gate! LOL I felt it but definately could have heavied up on almost everything. I'll make a mental note of that for next time.! ;)

Gotta go for now but I'll be back....

Good afternoon ladies!

I have to apologize because I'm not up for personals right now...hopefully tomorrow. I was able to read the thread while eating dinner but am now going to drag my nasty, sweaty, thoroughly rain soaked deriere into the shower and then pour myself into bed. Sorry if that was TMI lol!

The horses were exceptionally good considering the ankle deep mud/water in all of the rings. We got rained/poured on most of the day so, needless to say, it was miserable. The one horse, although he was wonderful, was, once again, the victim of judging politics. Gotta love it .

I get to do it all over again tomorrow and the rain is supposed to continue through the night and into tomorrow...joy. I will try to get back here for personals tomorrow afternoon before bowling.

I still can't decide if I'm heading down to Joisey on Friday...I guess it will all depend on how I feel come Thursday night.

Done whining now...sorry :(. Just wanted to say "love ya, babes" and have a good night!

Hey Wendi! -love ya back!

Cathy- I think for your rotation, I would cut the circuits back to 2 instead of 3 and put in one rest day. you could play it by ear and just pick which day to rest. If you don't need a rest day don't take it.

Well DS15 had quite a workout today with the trainer. They ran 6 hilly miles then he had to go to hockey for 2 hours of ice time ( all drills) . He said he felt great on the ice. His older brother, DS21 wants him to play in a fun ( hockey) game tonight, but he is going to pass. DS did bring home the KB and a DVD. I will wait to see how these UB DOMS are progressing before I decide to do KB tomorow or Friday.

Hi gloria!

oh dear I'm outta time again! tootles!

Shelly- You are pretty close to me. We live on the upper boarder of MD so I can be in PA in 10 min when I go up route 1. I hope you enjoy your new home and find some good running trails your way.

Jackie- Thanks for the welcome. As for doing the pikes after PUB I tend to not do them if I do my arms first. I think a better pharse would be I can't do them if I work my arms first. :)

Hey Cheetahs!

Cathy: I like the look of that rotation. I need to pull out HSTA again. I might find that I love it. When I was recovering from my stress fracture I found some of the cardio to bother it. Not the case with BC, KPC. I am glad to finally be over that, it was devastating to me and I even cried over it. I am a baby at times, so I guess that was to be expected. LOL! Cheese is a favorite food of mine. I figure if I use it sparingly I am ok. Tutoring went well, but we did get off task chatting a bit. You did a fat blaster for sure! I received your handouts in the mail. Thank you VERY much, that was too sweet of you. I told DH and he also said that was cool.

Karen: I do laundry every day and it is only DH and I. I don't like my workout clothes in the hamper stinking up the house. Thanks for the nice words about my little Pip. :)

Jackie: Cool avatar! I did get my run in. I can't let Pip get in the way of that, and she needs a little discipline anyway. DH even said that she will be fine. He knows working out is a passion of mine. Our house is small and during the school year I workout when he is still sleeping. I feel bad jumping around the living room or running on the tm, but he says he doesn't mind. Nice going heavy today! :)

Shelly: What is KCM? Pip was fine in the kennel when I ran today. The site is fun to explore.

Wendy: Nice workout! Hope you have some good luck bowling tonight.

Wendi: Get some rest there little lady! Sorry it rained all day. That stinks. Maybe it won't be as bad tomorrow. The weather people aren't right every time. :) Do not worry about doing personals. You are too busy for that right now.

Judy: I thought you were doing the KB workout today. Oops. Enjoy it when you decide to throw it into the mix. :)

Did my run of 4 miles on the tm. Felt good. Hope all have a nice evening.

Hi Friends!

Hola Cheetahs!

Wanna let ya’ll know I’ve been too busy to post personals but I have been “scanning” the posts etc when I can… I’m with ya’ll in my daily thoughts, chuckles and concerns over the pup pics, MD appts, weather woes, bowling and golfing and horse riding achievements…etc, etc…And thank you all for the kinds words and well wishes - You gals are the best always! :D

I spent yesterday morning before work on the telephone helping DH get booked with a specialist – our dentist has referred him to a specialist for a tricky root canal. Poor guy is taking Percocet for pain and trying to get through the work week. I’ll be off on Friday to take him for an am appointment, so maybe I can get caught up with my Cheetah friends by then. And add me to Cathy’s enabling team on the nutrition membership… I too was askkeered straight by the scale and signed up for the $9.99 one month try. So far I really like it – opened my eyes – This will be much better than the WW logging because with Cathe nutrition I can clearly see where too many carbs, not enough calories, and other imbalances in my diet may have been the culprit in my yo-yo weight gain/loss… Last night I was going to post personals but I took too much time playing with adding a lot of my foods into the custom foods area. This is going to be my ticket!! I’m stoked..I really want to get some of this weight off before my Maui trip in 7 ½ weeks  and then of course by the marathon so I can run without issues and not be the fattest azz cheetah in Chicago …LOL…

Ok, I have to get back to work now. I’ll try to get on tonight if I don’t take too long with my menu stuff…lol... just wait til I get a chunk of time and I'll really blast ya'llz ya'll with a novel! LOL

Posh ….

Where does the time go!?!?!

Evening ladies

I ended up going to the free consultation through TNT. The PT said it's my peroneal tendons. Guess the left foot was jealous that the right foot had some action. UGH He showed me some exercises to help strengthen it. He said I have muscle imbalances in my hips. I knew about that because of physical therapy a few years ago. Anyway, he said my orthotics will help that. He thinks a few days of rest, ice and ibuprofen should do the trick. I took the kids to the Nordstrom anniversary sale for school shoes. That place was insane. We stayed for dinner at this place called the Wildfire. I had halibut. It was pretty good. No butter sauce. It came with asparagus. Yum! I came home to finish watering the new landscaping that the sprinkler system doesn't hit. I almost fell off the ledge. Seriously!??!! Oh brother! The kids call it the rock wall. They actually scale it to go play on the swing set. I scrapped the back of my "good" foot pretty good.

Cathy ~ I think I'll wait on that program. It does sound good though. I gained 5 lbs too. Actually, I'm at the heaviest weight I've been in a while. oh boy! Who would have thought with all this running??!?! I gained back that 2%BF too I lost while doing P90X. Not happy at all about that! Can't wait to get back to HIIT. That works the best for me. What did you decide for dinner? Nice w/o today! lol'd about your comment.

Judy ~ We have a friend's daughter who is selling Cutco as well. She called me right at the beginning of all this stuff here. I'll have to call her tomorrow. Thanks for reminding me...indirectly. When do you think you'll decide about STS? Thanks about the foot. I did ice and took ibuprofen y-day. Ahhh...youth - 6 hilly miles and 2 hours of drills ont he ice. WTG for DS. You got in a great workout as well!

Wendy ~ How did bowling go? I think I'll be joining you with the 4D DOMS! It's funny we're all doing 4D and it wasn't even planned. Or was it??? I'm interested in a live chat. I doubt I'll be around though??? Let me know the time anyway. Thanks.

Carole ~ Ouch on Beau biting your calves! lol Great workout! This is my second pair of GT8. Which color did you get? I have the pink or is it magenta? Anyway, I really do love that shoe! How's Beau feeling? Chicken poop!?!?

Shelly ~ Whew!! I'm tired just reading your posts. Glad all is going well with the move. The pain was on the outside/middle of my left foot. Remember when I had a strange pulling on the right? Guess the left wanted in on the action. The guy thinks it's the same tendons giving me trouble. I didn't use my orthotics for that 12. They're new and I'm still breaking them by wearing them around the house, etc. I should have put my old ones in my new shoes. DOH! That's what I'll do this Sat. Hope I get to run!

Christine ~ Glad you got to sleep in especially all that you had planned for a workout! How did that all go? Your dh has an interesting job.

Gloria ~ Glad you got your run in today. I know it's been hard with Pip. I generally enjoy summer - it's just been too much bad news.

Karen ~ "HI". Thanks for the well wishes. I think it will be ok. Nice workout! How old are your kids? I have a 10, 8 (almost 9), and 5 year old. My 5 y/o has been keeping me on my toes. Sorry you've had some tough times as well. (((HUGS)))

Jackie ~ I'm curious too - which instructor for your sculpt workout? How's the house coming along? I thought of you while watering my plants (not (almost) falling off the wall) lol Your avatar matches you and your siggie.

Wendi ~ You have to be exhausted. I don't know how you do it! I would just be to hot to run in pants!! However, makes me wonder if that would help? Yeah, got to thinking maybe my thighs are too big! lol! Although the chaffing didn't happen until the rainy runs. This Sat is supposed to be dry. I will see won't I??! lol

Posh ~ You are so funny!!!! I know you are being too hard on yourself. Keep us posted on your DH. Poor guy. lol'd about your senior comment. You should ask Cathe if that entitles us Seniors to a discount. lol

Well, I better post this novel before I lose it!

Hi to Lorie, Sunny and any other Cheetahs I missed.

Cookbook question

I had a question so I thought I'd post it separately.

I'm looking for a good vegetarian/vegan cookbook. I know Judy had a quote about Michael Pollen in her signature. What do you think of his books? How are the recipes? Anyone else? DH has some serious stomach issues and he wants to remove all meat and change some other things. He does eat pretty clean so at least that's not a problem. I've been use Quorn products for myself while the rest of the family eats meat. He's not a fan of the Quorn fillet. I've read ETL as well. Any thoughts from the Cheetahs on that one?

I figured I'd ask you first and then check the OD. I'm sure these two have come up in the past. I know ETL for sure.

Thanks!:)

Nighty-night
