Hi ladies,
I’m back from the interview & my errands…The UPS job would have been PT for the summer only. (I absolutely love teaching, so no way do I have plans to exit the profession!) But I decided it’s not for me. I don’t mind hard physical work, but the downside is that you have to join the union & pay $250 in initiation fees. Making only $9/hour, it just wouldn’t make sense for me to work there for only 10 weeks. For anyone looking for *long-term* PT or FT work, though, it sounds like a great company to work for. But it is clearly hard, hard labor! So, I’ll keep looking…thanks for all the good cheetah vibes.
Gayle :: Physically, I do feel like I’m back in the shape I was at 23 instead of feeling my now-33 years, so I’m with you on the young, spry cheetah thing! *lol*…WHAT? Snow?? I hope that’s just for you folks west of the city!…Great job getting up early and bangin’ out those 7 miles.
Wendy :: your rotation looks great! I previewd a couple of the BBCs (which I rec’d last night) – they look interesting. The massage felt AWESOME…she really worked into my shoulder blades and worked out some kinks there. Next month’s massage will be the hot stone therapy. I’ve only ever done Swedish, so it’ll be nice to change it up even though it is more money…Hey, 30 min. of YogaX is a decent workout, IMO.
Jess :: from your signature, I take it you are hitting the big 3-0 next month…Ya know, that number didn’t really phase me…it turned out to be a great year for me. I started a new tradition on my 30th where any milestone birthday now means a getaway out of town. It was an absolute blast! You strike me as someone who is very frugal when it comes to spending on yourself, but if you can swing it, I highly recommend if not, say, a weekend getaway for you & DH, then maybe a spa day like what I did yesterday. It was AWESOME!…Yes, I do like the foam roller although I found it uncomfortable at first. It is completely different than The Stick…Too cute about the weasel in Kiersten’s chest. Poor thing. I can’t wait til you start the X…The new avatar looks great…Will check out the rest of the new pics in a bit.
Linda :: fingers crossed it all works out with the TM today! Sorry you have to leave work early. I’m surprised they were not better-prepared.
Jackie :: I guess what happens is that once you move up to Cathe, everything else becomes kinda easy. I still have my Firm workouts, too, but I haven’t gotten back to doing one in over a year. I think it’s good to keep a variety on-hand.
Carole :: funny, the talk about the taxes…I picked up an anal habit from my dad…I always make Valentine’s Day my own personal deadline for taxes. The nice thing about that is that I get my return lightning-quick, esp. now with online filing. I won't be using H&R Block again, though - that was a nightmare this year!
Shelly :: That is so cool that you & DH can talk while riding…Yesterday’s adventure sounds scary, though! Just proves what a tough cheetah you are!…Enjoy your four-night stretch – hope the meetings are quick & painless!
Susan :: 11 pets??? I think there’s gotta be a point where you draw the line. *lol* I have had a few past students tell me they had that many animals living in the house, and I cannot imagine the noise & chaos that must go on in homes like that.
Christine :: I agree, CS is *not* easy…I guess I expected that it would be b/c it’s during Recovery Week. Glad it gave you a good workout. *lol* about the Name Game. Jimmy sounds like a fitting pick…I’ll raise my Sambuca glass to that. (German tradition requires that you do a few schnapps whenever you have double-digits, i.e. 22, 33, 44, etc., so that was my poison of choice last night.)…Chuckled at the visual of you being dragged kicking & screaming to spin class.
Sunny :: sorry to hear about another not-so-restful night…Is this the first time you & DH will be away from the kids for so long?…Try not to feel too guilty – I think it’ll be healthy for all involved to let mom & dad get away for a little bit.
Marcia :: glad to hear your student is so fired up! She sounds fully committed to change. Did you wind up having school?
Judy :: enjoy your legwork + run!
Kristi :: That’s funny – right now, I’m brainwashed on the weights (thanks to Tony) and am shying away from cardio, which I can hardly believe about myself. I’m not familiar with the M&F Hers program you mentioned. How’s the big project coming along?
OK, let me take a stab at some schoolwork. BBL!
Cathy
ETA: Jackie, I missed your post. Sounds like a great workout! How long is the WP B&T?
