Good morning cheetahs,

tired cheetah over here trying not to fall asleep, lol

i had no time to post or catch the posts from yesterday:( . i also didn't have time to squeeze in a workout yesterday.

today's workout is CC#6. then it's off to the gym to train a client, go to my full time job, and back to the gym to train 3 more clients. i have not yet been able to secure a pt job. hopefully something good will come along in the very near future;-)

have a great day ladies. hopefully i will be able to catch up with every one soon:)

Happy hump day, cheetahs! :)

This week is spankin' me with meetings and appointments, but I'm hangin' tough! Today it's more of the same, so I'll be working late, but after, it'll be a 30 min interval run on the TM (haven't done those in ages!) followed by the leg cond. drills from KM, and CM-1.

I think I'm all caught up with y'day's posts.

Sunny :: wow! Your days are extremely jam-packed! I can see why you'd be exhausted. Hang in there! Fingers are crossed that a PT gig turns up real soon.

Enjoy a great day/run/workout - whatever you've got planned - and I'll catch up with you all later.

Cathy :)

Hello Fellow Cheetahs-

I'm a little short for time right now, and I didn't get on much yesterday either. Yesterday was ellipticl and MM-back, leg press, plies squats & abs. Today is a 5 mile run, and MM shoulders and a lot of running around.
(My car was making a noise and after taking it in it had 4 noises and cost me $1000! geesh!)

I'm off to visit the ETL thread and then run....

Good Morning Cheetahs.

My goodness ladies...we have a bunch o' busy cheetahs in our midst today!:)

Sunny, WOW girl! You have one heck of a schedule to keep today! Find that p/t job FAST! So are you enjoying your new-found career? :)

Cathy, Meetings?...Ack, I HATE meetings! LOL There is one at the gym tmrw afternoon as a matter of fact. I am thinking of blowing it off! Bad me! :p

Judy, $1000? That's typical. I hate when that happens! I hope your car purrs like a kitten now for that kind of dough!;)

I have the X shoulder and arms + ARX on tap for after work this afternoon. Tonight I have a step class at the gym! Yeah...I'll be tired later!:p

My legs are a tad sore from Plyo. Not bad though. Not like what B&G can do to me! :+

Have a great morning...I'll be back later!:*

Good Morning Cheethas

Thanks all for your thoughts on my grandmother. I do apprecite it.

Today is a cross training day for me. I will be doing some kind of total body workout and then heading to the grocery store. Off to go actually do it. Be back later.

Good Morning All –

I’m tired today, which is funny as I slept very well last night. Oh well. Not sure I’m going to have the oomph to get my tail to the gym this morning. Oh yeah, and it’s COLD out there! In the 20’s! We may get snow tonight down to 1000 foot level – which happens about once a year – it means the mountains around here get a nice little cap of snow, the rest of us get rain. I have S&H T&B’s on tap for today. I’ll follow it with some high impact video – either BM2 cardio premix or Imax 3. We’ll see.

Sunny - Oh wow – busy Cheetah!! Hope you get a part time job soon!! Will your full time job allow you to go part time? Good luck today! I’m thinking of you!

Cathy – Enjoy your busy day, too! I enjoy short runs from time to time! Sounds like you have a good workout planned!

Judy – Oh man! Are your car back to make sure they fix it right? What was wrong, did they say? Car’s as ridiculously expensive. Enjoy your run and MM Shoulders.

Wendy – glad to hear you survived PlyoX! You’re doing my favorite P90X workout today. I really like that one! Have fun and enjoy step class!

Karen- enjoy your cross training day!

Enjoy your days ladies!!!

Hello Cheetahs!
I am alive just barely. We returned from IN on New year's eve and I woke up with a terrible cold that has just been dragging on. I went to the doc yesterday and got antibiotics. I had an ear infection in both ears, swollen glands and a fever! He asked me if I have been having a fever often and I said "I don't know I don't check my own temp only DH and DS" I never get that sick just the sniffles occasionally. I don't have time to be sick.!!! Anyway, after going to the doctor I don't feel so bad about having not worked out in so long. Hopefully, I'll feel up to doing something tomorrow.
Just wanted to let y'all know I am still alive!
Hi to all. I'll be back checking in tomorrow!!!

Good morning cheetahs

Sunny..looks like a very busy day for you! Enjoy your CC workout.

Cathy...seems we both found some motivation at the same time! Good job with GS C&T and doing well with the calories ...:)..have fun with your TM interval run.

Judy...WOW!..those were expensive noises for your car!!..:(..enjoy your run and shoulder workout.

Susan...sounds like your daughters B-Day went well...:)...yes I am running 3 times a week and doing the Elliptical 3 times a week. iClimbs really incorporate alot of hills on the Elliptical so those are my favorite workouts.

Shelly...hope your 4 mile run was fun. I am glad your cold is gone...I imagine your immune system is tough with your work. I did read in Runners World that for the 1st 5 hours after finishing a marathon that your immune system is incredibly weak and catching a bug is very easy...

Jess...good job in upper your weights in PUB!

Wendy...way to go doing PlyoX!!! My legs aren't too fried I think B&G gets them worse than S&H! I love P90X Shoulders & Arms...I hope you like it.

Karen..welcome back!! We missed you. So sorry about your grandmother...and I am sorry about your IT band. I know how it feels to be trained, then injured and miss a race that you were prepared to do...very frustrating. But in time you will heal and there are always more races...:). That is cool you have a training partner to run with now...good job on the 4 mile tempo run...:)

Christine...my DH and I were real rivals that year, but since it has not happened again, thankfully. I am not sure yet who I think will get to the SB...I'd think it will be 2 of the 4 teams that had the bye last week...The Ravens are a good team and have a good chance I am just not a fan of Ray Lewis...We are supposed to get very cold tomorrow, I think it was 40 today when I got up. I would love to have a little snow....enjoy S&H T&B today.

LD...sorry about the nasty cold!!! I hope you feel better soon...

I am doing S&H Shoulders, bi's and tri's, abs and a 4 mile run.

Have a great day...:)

Hello ladies,
A quick check-in for me and then I am off to the gym for 40 minutes on the elliptical and PUB Back and Chest and then off to my massage therapis appointment. I will be back later for personals.

Have a great day friends!

Susan

Got done my croos training so I have time to catch up.

Sunny_ Totally missed the job situation but it seems as if you need some good luck. It's coming you way.

Wendy- How do you feel after the plyo's?? Not my favorite but a necessary evil. Have fun at step tongiht.

Christne- Snow. We haven't had any yet in Maryland this year. Today it is super cold though. I hope you got the ooomph to go to the gym.

Judy- Glad you car is fixed.

Carole- I missed you too. I'm happy to be back. Enjoy your run and you slow and heavy. I have truly found a great running partner. She has had knee issues in the past so on Sunday's we can keep it really relaxed. Time on feet is the whole point of a long run. We ran the whole 6 miles just gabbing away this weekend. Of course after the cold morning air we made a coffee run.

G'morning, almost afternoon, Cheetahs! I have been busy getting things done around here & knew if I stopped to post I'd get distracted! :p I did IMAX 2 this morning & then did some stretching. I think my IT band feels good, but it always seems to until I try to run on it. :(

I'm excited/ nervous about signing up for the tri-athalon. It will be fun to have something new to train for. My friend Lea signed up too, so she, Erin, & I can train together.

Well, I'm sitting here w/ my new computer desk in place!! It looks AWESOME, my dh really outdid himself this time. We did some rearranging & reorganizing last night. I love it!

OK, I've gotta go get to work stripping the border in my dd's room so I can start priming/ painting soon. My shoulders are a little sore from PUB but otherwise not too bad! Have a good one & I'll check back later!

I’m back! And guess what? After I did S&H T&B’s I decided that the weather be darned, I’m going for a run anyway, and did my 5 mile interval run to iTread Outdoors 10. I ran the local school track (wasn’t in the mood to watch carefully for traffic) and actually passed a male jogger – okay he was jogging REALLY slow, but still it felt good to pass someone! So, I’m feeling good. Except I’m a little self conscious. My DD17 convinced me that I could not live without a pair of cute jeans from American Eagle. The problem? I’m not 17 and plumber’s pants DO bother me! So every time I sit down or stand up, I’m tugging on the waist band. They do look cute, but… (or would that be butt…???) :+

LD – Oh, I’m so sorry that you’re dealing with a cold!! I hope you’re feeling better soon!! Don’t stress about not working out – it’s better that you give yourself time to heal.

Carole – I was listening to the forecasters last night again (must stop doing that), so I thought it was colder than it really was. I just put on a turtle neck (my hiking one – works for running, too!), and a light jacket with reflector tape, and a pair of gloves and I was happy. Hope you get snow – it’s supposed to get REALLY cold here, too. So, it’ll be fun. I like it when we get snow that low. It’s so pretty to see the snow capped mountains. You and I basically did the same workout! I feel STRONG! :p

Susan – have fun with the elliptical and PUB. Hope the massage therapist makes you feel fabulous!

Karen – I’m sorry we never got a chance to run together too! My dad moved to North Carolina and my sister who lives in West Chester, PA is leaving for a 2 year stint in Manchester England – her dh’s company is moving them there. Too bad! Sounds like you found a great running partner! Yes, the long runs are all about moving slow and easy and enjoying yourself. After all, if you’re not enjoying your runs, why do them? Glad to hear you are on the mend!

Jess – can’t wait to see photos of your new desk – how cool! A new family heirloom and something very special! Glad you checked in – always great to read your posts! Enjoy your stripping and priming!

*Waves a cheery hello to all who follow*

Hello Cheetahs! Once again this will have to be a quick post since I need to get started actually working. This morning I took 1/2 day vacation so I could take my DS & myself to the dentist. This was DS's first real dental check-up, and he did so well. I am so proud of him. He amused the dentist. Afterwards I dropped him off at daycare and then rushed home to fit in a quick weight workout. Today my workout was inspired by you Wendy. (BTW, yesterday I took as a rest day.) I did every exercise from P90X C&B and S&A once. It cuts the workout time down to about 40 minutes. It made me realize how much I have neglected my weight work and how much strength I have lost. Afterwards I tacked on some ab work by Kelli Roberts from an oldie but goodie workout. My calf is still sore so I am laying off the running until maybe this weekend. I hope this will not interfere with my hopes of running my first HM in April. I talked my DB into running with me and he is so excited. I don't want to have to bail on it. Luckily I am still far out from the HM so I have time to recover.

Well, I need to start working! Have a great day!

Hey ladies!

No time for personals right now but I just wanted to pop in and say.... I LOVE THE X'S SHOULDERS AND ARMS!:) :) :) I subbed in BM2's ab work for ARX. I have step class in a couple of hours. Tomorrow is 90 minutes of yoga...YIKES!!!!

Gotta go for now but I'll be back later for some personals!

:* :* :* to all!

PS-WELCOME BACK KAREN!!!!:+

Karen...So which work out did you do? Did you happen to buy any Wheat Thins at the grocery store today? :7 :7 :7 I feel good after doing plyo y'day! I actually LIKE the work out now that I know I can get thru it!

Christine...I am tired today too but that is because I did NOT sleep well last night. I was up for about 2 hours tossing and turning after having to get up to use the bathroom. x( Sounds like a good work out planned for today! Enjoy it!:)

LD...HUGS to the sick Cheetah! Glad you got to the doc. You'll soon be feeling better quickly now that you are on antibiotics!:)

Carole...Needless to say, if you read my last post, I DID enjoy Shoulders and Arms!:) How does S&H compare to P90X work outs??

Susan...Hope your PT apptmnt went well today. What kind of work outs do you do on the elliptical?

Jess...So when is the triathalon you are training for? Glad the desk came out so nicely! ^5's to your DH for a job well done!:)

Kristi...Good job on the X work out today! That's a great way to use those vids when you are short on time! Hope that calf gets better soon! Stretch it lots! :)

Judy :: yikes! A grand?! That hurts! Hope you had a good workout and have some time to relax in all that running around you're doing!

Wendy :: I hate meetings, too! They wouldn’t be so bad if folks would just be to the point, so we can do our business & get back to work. I can’t imagine a whole workout of Plyo!! I hate those things when Cathe does them. Glad you're loving the workout. Hey, you might be surprised…90 min of yoga can go by faster than you think. Is it a live class or a DVD?

Karen :: enjoy your workout—whatever you decide upon.

Christine :: it’s pretty cold here, too – so I’m kind of glad it’ll be a TM run for me tonight. We’ve had such sickeningly warm temps here lately, I have to readapt to the cold! WTG on getting out there despite the chill factor. *CRACKED* up about you passing that guy and also about the American Eagle jeans. Feeling a breeze back there, are you? }( :)

LD :: good to see ya back. Rest up & take care of yourself—sounds like you’ve got one helluva bug there! Hope you feel better soon.

Carole :: have a great run & SH workout! Today is another high-end calorie day for me…I’m almost at 2000…but I still have to work out, so I’ll burn some of that off. Still, I need to get this in check. I am starting BC pills soon and I am worried that I’m gonna put ON weight when I'm working so hard to get it OFF!

Susan :: ahhh! A good workout followed by a massage. Great plan! Enjoy!

Jess :: that stinks about the IT band *still* acting up when you try to run…it seems like you’ve been so careful with that darned thing. I really hope it clears up soon! Enjoy the new computer desk! My Opa used to be very good like that – he’d build us all kinds of stuff – it really is a great talent to have. Lucky you to have that handy DH of yours!

Kristi :: sorry the calf continues to plague you…I was having some calf issues early last summer. Laying off the running for a few days helped me as did heat and stretching. Now I try not to run more than 2 days in a row, if possible. Three in a row is pushing it for me. I attribute it to the hills I'm surrounded by - your legs really do get worked.

Well, I just ate dinner, so I'm going to chill a bit before diving into my workout. I'm dreading those leg drills...I was in pain for DAYS afterward the last time I added those to a run.

Cathy :)

Hello friends,
I am finally able to sit down for a moment and chat. I had a great massage and she said that my glutes are so much looser and so is my back. My pt sessions are really paying off. I am really looking forward to getting back to my cathe cardios and of course running.

I am loving my Cathe Calendar. I find it so motivating and I just love recording my workouts and inches.

Cathy, Enjoy those leg conditioning drills. I find those to be pretty tough. What is your running pace? Are you a fast cheetah?

Sunnydelite, WOW! You are extremely busy. I hope that you can quit your full time job and just enjoy training all of your new clients. When I was a trainer, I went out on my own and did not work for a gym. I would go to peoples houses. I made so much more money and I did it full time.

Judy, I have car expenses. My hubby just got his car worked on and it was $700, OUCH!

Wendy, sounds like you are loving the new workout rotation. 90 minutes of yoga sounds heavenly to me. Are you doing the power 90 yoga or another tape? Have fun at your step class! Also, I do the interval hills on the elliptical and it kick my butt and I burn a ton of calories.

Karen, what do you do for your crosstraining? I am now doing everything but running due to some sciatica issues. It is getting better though and I will be cheetah again soon:)

Christine, great job on your outdoor run! I don't know about running on a track though. I think I would go nuts going around in circles. So, you get to do Baron tomorrow, YAY!!!! I hope you enjoy it. Hey we have got to get together for Indian food. Let's figure out a date and a time.

Runnergirl, we have missed you around here. I hope that you feel better soon:)

Carole, how are your runs going? Do you ever have any twinges of pain or anything. You seem to be the most resilient and pain free cheetah. Hope you had a great run today.

Jess, I am sorry to hear about your twinges with the IT band. I just read a book about healing back pain and it said that after people get injured and want to start doing the thing that injured them that there is a lot of fear and that sometime just letting go of the fear and telling yourself that you are alright and kind of working through the twinges that you will find that you are okay. I am probably not explaining this very well, but he is saying that we get used to not doing something and the fear just takes over. Also, our minds tell us that it will hurt and then it does. It is a very good book and it really makes you think about the mind body connection that is so powerful. Sorry, I did not mean to go on and on.:)

Kristi, how fun to train for a half marathon. Great job with the weight workout. I also have some oldie but goodie workouts with Kelli roberts in them.

Well, ladies I am off to fix some tacos for the family and we still have some b-day cake left}(

have a great evening and I will see you all in the morning.

Btw, where it Elaine these days?

susan

Just poppin' in to say I finished the 30 min TM run, the KM drills, and CM-1. And now it's already 9:30 again! Sheesh! I haven't even *touched* any of the work for my two grad classes (the new semester started this week)...I guess that'll have to wait til the weekend.

Susan :: glad you had a good massage session...what happened to your hot massage boy?}( ...was it Julio?...Noooo, no, no, no -- I am definitely NOT a fast cheetah!! And never have been. I'd say - at my fittest - my 5K pace was about 7.5 - 8.5 minute miles. I *was* making some progress with my speed around that time & think I probably could have nipped a little more off, but then I developed the AT and things went downhill from there. But anyway, right now I'm even slower than that! I typically run anywhere between 9 and 11 min. miles...but I don't really get hung up so much on my pacing. My goals for now have just been to run for an hour (or more) and burn fat. Once I reach my fat loss goals, I'll start to focus more on making speed gains and training for races. I have seen Elaine post in the open discussion forum lately. Hope she decides to drop back in here. It's been a bit of a revolving door lately, it seems.

OK, cheetahs...off to the couch to do some reading. I finally had BFFM printed out (it was $31 bucks @ Kinko's!) since I can't read lengthy texts on the computer. Who knows how long I'll be able to keep my eyes open, though! See you all in the AM!

Cathy :)
