:::CHEETAHS:::Wacky Wednesday

Hi ya girls.

Ended up hittin' the gym when DH got home for a run. I was in the mood so I went with it. Got in 3.25 miles. No Grace or Sean. Went solo with my tunes and focused on a steady state run today. Felt good. One of the best TM runs in quite some time actually. :)

Well, gotta whip up a quick dinner for the boys now.

BBL to catch up on personals!;)

Evening, cheetahs!

Wendy—yeah, IA—windy, cold, and dark? No way! I think I said I would double up tonight, but I will probably just do a DM-based circuit. Oh, gosh—you didn’t have to do anything, but that is very, very kind of you—thank you. Great pics of you & Shelly—all smiles, like you’re having a blast. Gonna purchase any?...Oh yeah, re: TNT…one thing to add to the convo: I noticed a HUGE crowd turnout for them. Livestrong, in all candor, was not that organized. So, I think from start to finish, you will have an excellent experience. ‘Course, you can count on a contribution from me, too. Hope Joey has a more restful night tonight.

Judy—aww, Waldo squeezed himself right in there, huh? Everything OK with your dad?

Dallas—I feel good. Felt sniffly for several days afterward (as I did for a little bit pre-Chicago), but that seems to have passed now. I’m admittedly a wee bit tired (things have been fairly busy for me at work), but all in all, I've had an excellent recovery...We have a few more weeks to go in this marking period…I did find some decent flights, but all is hold right now after funneling so much money to my tooth. J Hmm, I don’t think I have experienced that problem in Word. Sounds like you got around it, though...I somehow missed, too, that you had a cyst. I’d pass on the needle if possible, too.

Wendi—gotta love those adventurous runs!

Karen—some add'l feel-better vibes coming south to ya.

Christine—oh, that will be sooo adorable (Jim’s costume). It’s hard to see one of your work friends move on. Hope you enjoy your farewell dinner!

Carole—well, THAT news makes my day! J J J I don’t think I’ve tried Banana Nut Crunch, but it sounds right up my alley. Boy, you keep steering me to Rite Aid for the good stuff! J How was the wind?

Linda—sending lots of strong vibes your way. I went on a chicken soup-orange-extra rest regimen that seemed to keep things at bay for me. Cousin’s GF (who’s running MCM Sunday) is experiencing the same. Seems par for the course. I don’t know if I am still going to go see the race. They are heading down Saturday night and staying over, and no one else from the fam can go. Not sure I am up to that drive solo…I’m not all that fond of the tests with the drops, either.

Posh—love that you’re able to post more with us! Hey, the hubby and kids don’t have to eat, do they??? J…I am feeling great! I don’t think I want to eat anything Happy Sunday baked. Methinks he may have been dippin’ too often in the brownies as it is. J *lol*

Jackie—oh yeah, my hairstylist did say Maks was out. She also told me he is dating Karina. A raise? Thank you! That is the one thing about teaching—you make the same $ whether you work 36 hours or 76. Nice job with SloMo legs & core. Find anything in the mailbox?

OK, off to circuitland! :)

Good evening ladies!

Oh, bbbbrrrrrrrr, did the cold get to me today:(. I am ready for a nice hot(!) shower and bed...nothin' else.

Judy - Awww, I love that Waldo has become such an affectionate and outgoing member of your family. I remember when he first decided to take up residence with you...lucky kitty! Glad to hear that you're right on track in your training...must be a confidence booster! Hope you had a great workout with PLB/PUB this morning. I hope Dad's appt went well.

Dallas - Fantastic workouts girl! WTG with BBC! Oh, ouch!!! Ididn't know you had issues with cysts. I sure do hope it *does* dissipate on it's own:eek:. I usually overdress a bit cause it takes me awhile to get going and not feel the cold anymore. I do make sure that I plan to run past my house at least once to strip off layers if need be, though. Aww, I'm feeling much, much better...thank you for asking:D. LOL, I don't understand why anyone would jump out of a perfectly fine aircraft, either:confused:.

Karen - Well, I'm glad my encounter this morning lightened things up for you:p, although I'm sorry I made you laugh:eek:...yeah, that's never fun when you're that sick. Sorry to hear your little one is now sick. Sending many get well {{{{VIBES}}}}} your way!

Christine - That has still got to be my fave Spinerval title...I'm sure it's *very* appropriate:eek:. I'm so sorry to hear that your friend is leaving:(. Will she still be in the area and available for GTGs? I hope you have a good time tonight! Yeah, yeah....go ahead and make fun:p!!! Although, I admit that I was humming the same thing this morning;). I'm still in shock that that even happened:eek:...absurd, right?

Carole - Oh, that's wonderful news that John is home! I'll keep him in my prayers, hoping for a speedy recovery. Oh, ewww, sorry about the washed Enlytens:confused:. I do that more often than not with the hard candy peppermints that we give the horses as treats. It does make a nasty ol' mess:(. How was your windy run today? It sounds like Cloris is being kept on for nothing more than comic relief?

Linda - Oh, sorry to confuse:eek:...the Nature's Path is a cereal but I was trying to, unsuccessfully, compare it to your reaction to the Bare Naked....as in gobbling the whole thing up lol! Thankfully that four letter word starting with "s" ending in "w" was removed from the forecast;). Oh, I really, really hope you're not getting sick. Hope you're able to fend it off! Oooh, out late;)? I hope you had a good time!

Wendy - Those race pics are fantastic!!! I hope you're going to get one. You looked fab and strong! Uh, WOW, fantastic run especially *after* L&G:eek:. Let us know how you're walking, or would that be hobbling, tomorrow:p. Uh, *totally* agree with you about being lucky and not getting hurt. Thank goodness it was one of the youngins that was born earlier this year so not too big, yet.

Posh - Wow, congrats on the PR girlie:p! I can't blame you for wanting to get out on the streets. I hope you have a great run tomorrow! Now, I don't think I could eat just 1 serving...I don't have that kind of self-control:confused:. Kudos to ya!

Jackie - Yeah, I can imagine that Cloris' antics are starting to where thin. I really like her but there's probably only so much you can take, right? I think that's why I've been *unintentionally* avoiding it this season. Had to lol at your comments about her partner manipulating her...had visions of her being a marionette or something:). Not a cold fan, either, but the TM absolutely kills my motivation *and* my knees/ankles:confused:. Enjoy that well-deserved bootay DOMS tomorrow;). Yup, gonna find me a name tag that says "Hi, my name is Dr. Doolittle".

Hi there to Gloria, Shelly, and Cathy! Hope you're all staying nice and warm!

Tomorrow's workout is either going to be all UB and abs or a circuit with UB focus. Need to lay off the legs on bowling days...learned that one the hard way last week:(. I guess I'll decide what floats my boat in the morning! Nightie night!

ETA: Cathy - You snuck in on me there. Enjoy your DM circuit tonight! Crackin' up here about "dipping into the brownies too much"! Interesting what you said to Wendy about TNT vs. Livestrong.

Wendi: Lay off legs tmrw but make sure you wear yourself out so you bowl well! ;) Yeah-glad the dear was a younger one too. I just loved when Christine posted "Wendi got run over by a reindeer...". Too funny. I love the Grandma got run over my a reindeer song so it had me crackin' up!:D
Actually running after a leg work out tends to help decrease DOMS for me. I'll let ya know in the a/m if it worked for me this time. :p

Cathy: I wanted to get ya a little something. I bought everything before the race and then split it up into Good Luck and Congrats piles. :) Glad to hear TNT had a lot of crowd support as the race I am doing is bound to be real thin on crowds once I get past the half mark. It's a huge event but mostly comprised of half marathoners so the crowds will thin ALOT as those folks finish up. Sorry Livestrong wasn't as organized as I'm sure you have hoped it would be. Will you be choosing another charity to run for in 09? Let me ask you, did Livestrong pop for your airfare/hotel/race entry in exchange for the fundraising you did for them? That's what TNT does. It's ashame I'm too chicken to really travel as I wouldn't have to pay for it. That is, assuming I could raise the required amount of donations for them. Since I am staying close to home my donation requirement will not be very steep. That's a load off my mind. Thanks for the wishes for Joey. He'll officially be on antibiotics for 24 hours by the time he heads to bed so I'm hoping he'll have a better night tonight. No I haven't purchased any photos although I should. They are probably the ONLY set of race photos that will ever turn out alright! LOL Have you or do you plan to purchase any of your marathon pics?

Dallas: Wow TNT sounds more awesome every time someone talks about them! Glad to hear you will be giving it another go to run Chicago next year! I will be making every effort to get out there for cheerleading purposes so hopefully I'll finally get to meet you. :) The bib #s for Shelly and I are 195 and 111 respectively.

Ok, caught up and time for Joey to get a bath! Be back later maybe!:)

Wendy ~:eek: The bib #'s were right next to your link.:eek: Can you tell I have too much going on right about now? I loved the pictures of you and Shelly. You two look great!! You look like you're having a party. :) Oh come on...you don't want to run Chicago with us?!?! ;) Glad you enjoyed your run. :)

Wendi ~ I guess I didn't explain that very well...with my sporadic posts. I had to have mammo because he felt something. He did think it was a cyst. TG it was! Enjoy your night. :)

Cathy ~ You have more to get done to that darn tooth? Your eye appt is coming up soon too, right? Yeah, see ^ in Wendi's post. That's what the mammo was all about. Glad you recovered easily from the mary. :) What's next?

Christine ~ Enjoy your dinner. :) I forgot to say that earlier.

Well, I have to put this laundry away now.

Have a good night.

Hi Cheetahs!

Wendy - Joey feeling well enough to go to school tomorrow? Glad you got the leg workout over and done. I see you didn't work them hard enough if you were able to get a run in. Good job!

Dallas - Thanks on the 5K! It was a good race. Did you run the stairs today?

Cathy - Maks is dating Karina? I thought she was still with Mario Lopez? Nothing in the mailbox yet? Guess I'll have to make a phone call. How was your workout?

Wendi - Did you have some nice hot soup or something waiting for when you got home? I think Cloris' partner kind of bends her body in the direction it needs to go. Think of someone dancing with a dummy attached to their shoes. Do you remember those comedy routines? That's what it reminds me of.

Time to relax. Have a good night.

Back to report my workout is done. Feelin' great. Used BM2 for the weights ~ love that one. Kept it simple with 4 min. of SS before and in between B, C, S, Bi, and Ts.

Jackie—I think that is according to the tabloids, so who knows?...crackin' up at the description of Cloris's dancing.

Dallas—oh, oops—I did not connect that with the mammo...No, this is just the crown for the root canal I had last month. It has to be done in two visits...What's next is a circuits & running rotation. :) How's everything at your end? Soccer season almost over?

Wendy—I have to say, it didn't bother me that Livestrong didn't have folks in the crowd; because it was that big an event, there was plenty of other support. However, I did observe that TnT (and a few others orgs) had the bodies out there, and I certainly do think that's a plus, a nice touch. Of course, they have been doing this longer than Livestrong...The one thing LAF botched that I was not thrilled with is their after-race tent was shared with another charity, and the coordinator failed to tell me that, so it was hard to find it & reunite with everyone after. Little bit of an annoyance. But the overall experience was excellent, and I have no regrets. That being said, I've always intended to make this a one-time fundraising event. My friends and family came through in a big way this time, but I don't want to abuse that...To my knowledge, Livestrong does not compensate for travel, which is cool by me. I felt guilty that they gave me a tech shirt, hat, and shoes. *lol* If I may ask, why are you afraid to travel?...Yeah, I think if you're usually not happy with your race photos, then you should get at least ONE of these. They do look good. I definitely plunked down a ridiculous wad of cash for a photo package.

Dr. Doolittle—I missed the earlier part of the jumping out of planes conversation, but your comment made me chuckle. I've heard that one plenty of times. Must say my skydiving experience was undoubtedly one of the best of my life! :p :) I think both TnT and Livestrong are doing great things, but TnT is certainly a way bigger operation, and I think the support (through group training all the way through race day) is far more substantial than what Livestrong offers at this time. Livestrong would be for someone who prefers or at least doesn't mind independence.

OK, I'm ready to sack out. Have a GN!
