.::. CHEETAHS .::. Tuesday

Hi again, cheetahs~

Makin' some updates to today's meal plan. Hard to believe, but I am having trouble eating everything! This is UNHEARD of for me!! What a GREAT problem to have. :)

Was worried about our California cheetahs when I heard about the quake, but according to the reports, I don't think any of you "felt" it where you are, right?

WT :: It's too bad when we click on the avatars, we can't see the larger image anymore...I've toyed with the Workout Manager the past two days. I didn't think I'd use it too much (maybe more when STS rolls out?), but I do like how it crunches the calorie numbers for ya. I also found it comparable with what my Garmin reports. Be even sweeter if the info synched up with the nutrition software!

Gloria :: I usually eat less in the summer, too, but that was NOT the case this year for some reason. I had been in a bad eating cycle for months. Til now. :) Just saw in this morning's paper that the guy who won NFNS is a local. Hope you had a great run!

Karen :: hope by now that tree is taken care of.

Jackie :: ack! Don't say that "s" word, please! ;) Veggie n' goat cheese frittata sounds good. Tried to follow orders & go oat-free, but I like 'em too much. I will just do what I've done all these years--live with it. :) No big deal.

I still can't get over how much that Winsor Pilates DVD hurts like heck. It's 20 minutes of pain. Wow!

ETA ~ Wendy :: good to have you back & glad you enjoyed yourselves!

Cathy...yes, I do enjoy my tuesday's without DH...:)...So Scrabulous.com sounds fun! Where was the Cali quake? I will have to check out this nutrition program here. Glad you enjoyed your Pilates torture.

Dallas...you are getting in some good workouts.

Lorie...you are quite right, because the RT was definitely just fun working out in a room full of people just like you! We all love Cathe. Even if I didn't meet everyone it was still a cool feeling working out with others who share your love of exercise.

Gloria...for all the years I have run, it was mostly Addidas. Now it is usually whatever shoes come in a wide width(bunions). So the Brooks were perfect. I was never a fan of Asics. I do like Reeboks and Saucony too. Enjoy your run with music.

Karen...Oh my! Your power company sounds just like ours!! Lame! I sure hope they get out there soon. So far the day has been nice. I can catch up now that beau is napping..:)

Jackie...YEP, no DH!!! I don't remember are you getting STS? Maybe a GS rotation would be fun for you. Massages are just so good for you and sure put you in a good mood. I think those 4DS workouts cause a lot of pain!

Wendy...Welcome home...:D

Well, the smoke came back today...:(...been doing some cleaning and laundry.

Cathy...the earthquake was in LA and south of there I read. But a 5.8 is one you would for sure feel!!! I read some in Las Vegas felt it too.

Carole :: once I saw it was in LA, I thought maybe Christine might have felt it. If I'm not mistaken, she is a few hours north of there? That's amazing that folks in LV did. So sorry about the smoke. :( :( :( I really feel so bad for you guys out there...Yeah, I am totally diggin' that WP vid!! Whatta burn.

Experienced marathoners...Would you kindly give me feedback? I'm wondering if the following long run schedule make sense for the remaining weeks of my training. (I am running 2 other days a week--should I increase to 3?) This is a tweaking of Galloway's plan because, as we discussed previously, he actually advocates running the full distance before the race, which I don't want to do. However, I wasn't sure quite sure how to best modify it. TIA for any advice.

Week of 7.28: long run = 8-10
Week of 8.4: long run = 15-16
Week of 8.11: long run = 8-10
Week of 8.18: long run = 17-18
Week of 8.25: long run = 8-10
Week of 9.1: long run = 8-10
Week of 9.8: long run = 19-20
Week of 9.15: long run = 8-10
Week of 9.22: long run = 8-10
Week of 9.29: long run = 8-10
Week of 10.6: MARATHON

Karen: Sorry you are having issues with the electric company. I find the directv guys to be a hassle to deal with. DH's legs are pretty scratched up from weed whipping yesterday and we both have our share of mosquito bites. They are vicious around here. Great workout today. I have some oldies I still really like too.

Jackie: Thanks. :) My issue is nothing I can't handle. I just over react to things sometimes. Nice workout today.

Cathy: You do have a great problem there. I was thinking about our Cali Cheetahs when I heard about the earthquake too. Sounds like they are fine. I remember hearing the NFNS was from Jersey. I did have a nice run, thanks!

Carole: Sorry about the smoke again. I mostly have worn Adidas too. In the past year or so I have changed it up and am now wearing Nike Air Pegasus. They have been good for me. I need a wide toe box since I have wide feet too.

Had a great 5 mile run to my tunes. I have been raking the yard and taking care of the house a bit. We needed to have a clear space to train Pip. It looks better. I never wanted to go back there since there were so many of those picker bushes. Now that DH weed whipped it is a nice place to sit and relax. Have a great night everyone. :)

Hey there! I feel like such a stranger! I am sooo out of the loop, lately! I hope everyone is doing well. I have missed checking in with you guys.

A lot of things have happened the past few months. My youngest daughter lost a baby, was diagnosed with Hashimoto's disease (which explains her hypothyroidism for the past 10 years).....after a few months...she is now pregnant again! We are sooo happy! She is 11 weeks. Hopefully, with watching her closely, she will okay. She also has high blood pressure and has been on medication since she was 18 (she is now 27). Then she started passing out and getting very dizzy (she was not pregnant at that time). They did numerous tests and she was diagnosed with orthostatic hypotension. things have calmed down a bit, now. That is only a sampling of what has been going on for the past few months.

It took me a while to get my user name and password to work on the new forum. But....one good thing!!! Since they changed the website, I can now get into it at work again!!! (At least until our "administrator" figures it out and blocks me again :>( ) So, hopefully, I can post at work, too!

I am sorry, I am rambling! I have missed you guys and will try to catch up with what has been going on with all of you. I have "lurked" a little bit and tried to read some posts to catch up a little.

I see you guys have been getting in some great runs! I am still doing my marathon training. My longest run, so far, has been 19 miles. We ran 17.72 this past week. This weekend the plan is to cut back to 10 for the long run.

Cathy - I am definitely not an "experienced" marathoner. But the lady I am running with is wanting to do the distance before our marathon, also. I am a little leary of this, but I think that is what we are going to do. We are trying to increase our distance for two weeks on the long run, then cut back to 10 or so, then increase for two, etc. So it would look like this :

Long run - 18
Long run-19
Long run-10
Long run 20
Long run-21
Long run-12

Well, I know, I am going on and on. Sorry!

Hi to everyone! I will do my best to catch up, now that I can get online at work!

Linda

Cathy - Forgot to say, if you are feeling really good and feel like you could add another day, I would suggest trying it for a couple of weeks and see how you feel. We have been running 5 days a week. I feel that I would actually feel better if I would cut down to 4. I am curious to see what the marathon "veterans" think!

Hi Girls.

Thank you so much for warm welcome backs. Makes me feel great to know that I was missed by my favorite group of women. :)

I am existing in a fog since I got home. I am tired, overwhelmed with unpacking and washing clothes, etc. and very much experiencing post vacation let-down. To put it simply...I'm in a crappy mood. :( I know it will pass but I hate it. Even after all of the complaining I did about the hotel being so far from the boards and my vacationing style not matching the group we went with, I actually had a great time and was soooo wishing we had planned to stay on longer. Oh well. Had we planned a full week there it would not have been so wonderful, right? Murphy's law ofcourse!!!!

So as I sit here typing I am extemely aware of my backside. I have to sit kind of leaning off to one side because my computer chair is hard it hurts to sit on it. Why is this, you may ask? Funny you should ask cause I was just about to tell you! LOL

Joey, Sal and I went to a very small water park yesterday. The rest of the group was taking thier kids to a big water park that would have cost us about $100 to get in for the 3 of us just so that Joey could play in the kiddie area for an hour or 2. Rip off, right? Even if Sal and I went on the big rides we'd have to take turns watching Joey and we wouldn't go on enough to warrant the cost of admission but I digress....So anyway, we went to this super tiny park that literally only had 3 old style (cement) water slides in it plus a few other things to do there. It was super cheap though and perfect for Joey! So Joey is only big enough for one of the slides. Even going on with an adult he was not allowed to ride the other 2 slides so Sal and I were taking turns bringing him on the one slide-which he LOVED by the way! :) So anyway, I went on one of the other slides a couple of times while Sal was with Joey. The second (and LAST) time I went down this slide I came off the slide and landed in the pool right on tail bone! YEOWCH! I was almost in tears from the pain! Come to find out that not only did I land on it which hurts enough as it is but I also cut myself on the bottom of the pool (yup-CEMENT!)! I cut myself pretty much where the tail bone ends RIGHT BETWEEN THE CHEEKS! DOH! (Sorry if TMI!LOL) Um...girls...I wear THONG underwear EXCLUSIVELY! This is NOT good! GRRRR! So now not only am I sore from banging my tail bone but I am going to have to be VERY careful for next few days until the cut heals. Perhaps I will need to go commando for a few days???

Linda- Sorry to here about your daughter but i'm glad it is ok now. I wish her nothing but a healthy pregnancy. Which marathon are you running.

Cathy- I have no clue what is best. I can't wait to see what others think though. I love good running info from this forum

Wendy- GO Commando. All I can think about is the cheeks sticking to you pants. I would walk around commando when I could. Poor thing. I hurt my tail bone years ago and I feel your pain. No cuts though so I know you are really hurtin. I cut my big toes on a cement pool once and it wasn't pretty. I'm glad you had a good time though. Happy your back.
