RE: Hello!

Hey all –

I’m back for a moment! How’s everyone doing? I did HE #2, on an 8” step. The only one I really had a problem with was #7 of Imax 3 with the jumps on and off the step – it takes longer to get all of me onto an 8” step than it takes little Cathe to jump to a 6”. So, I ended up skipping some of the jacks at the end – which was fine with me! Great workout, though – the time off did affect my cardio levels. I’ll get it back.

Carole – Enjoy B&G abs! The portabella fajitas sound wonderful – have to try that. I love portabellas! I’m really trying to make a life style change. I know that if I say I’m going vegan, I’ll end up sabotaging myself. So, I’m saying I’m going vegan except one day a week – that way I can “cheat” without feeling like I’m failing. I plan to work on skipping the cheat days, and easing into being a total vegan. The past few weeks have been a wake up call for me. I need to get my health under control. I have one life, and I want to be able to enjoy it.

Elaine – Have a blast watching you DD in the turkey trot! How fun!! I miss those days when the kids had fun little things like that to go to! I decided to stay 8” for the entire thing. Wanted to push myself today. I pushed – wow. But seriously, in that one, the only tough one is #7. 2&3 aren’t too bad, and 6 the wide lunges like we do in BM2, and 10 is done mainly on the floor, so it’s doable.

Linda – good job on the runs! I hope to get back into running this week! I’m excited! I plan to spend a lot of time at the gym. Yeah, HCE is a fun one – I like all the workouts. But #2 will always be one of the best.

Shelly –Thanks, is soo good to be back! I miss feeling good. I haven’t even started on the Thanksgiving shopping, but I’m just making a few dishes this year. I’m kind of bummed about that as I like to cook. But oh well, friends are more important. I had my thyroid biopsy Friday, the breast is next Monday. I get the results next week.

Susan – 4 and 5 are my favorite ages, too. Oh, I love my 13 yo, but I miss the funny, innocence of 4 and 5. Enjoy her! I can’t sleep with my DD either – she’s a bed hog. DH I don’t mind until he gets restless then he flips over and I swear I pop into the air 2 feet. LOL.

Katrina – good job on KPC – that’s a fun one! You know, B&G is the one I haven’t done the whole way. I’m thinking maybe a long run then B&G on Thursday – we’ll see. :

Jess – sounds like a wonderful, fulfilling (and filling!) day! I love going to the kid’s events. Enjoy!

RE: Hello!

Hey everyone!

I want to get my work out in before I do more personals but I just wanted to pop in first and say hi. I did skim through the posts and it's not that there are no halfs Jersey...there are plenty. It's that there are no *FUN* halfs in Jersey! None with bands, entertainment...that sort of thing!:-( I would LOOOOVE to do the one in Nashville...country music bands all along the way! WOW, that would be cool! I'd be dancin' and singing...not running! LOLOL :p

Oh well...off to figure out what I'm doing...I'm thinking a shortened version of B&G and some cardio but we'll see...

I'll be back!:)

RE: Hello!

Shelly – I think (JMO) that S&L is my favorite. Not that it’s my favorite one to do….it’s just the one that I think works me out the best. But they really do all kind of work together as a rotation. Ripped seems to focus on triceps and more back. S&L slays the chest! R2TC is a shoulder burner! I am not sure about 1000 yet, but I hear it is great! Ripped (the 1st one) is the easiest of them all. It has a small floorwork section in it. I have to say, I honestly love them all! But if I had to pick one….I think it would be S&L. Don’t work too hard …and try to get some sleep!!

Susan – LOL – wow! I remember when my oldest daughter was little and she would sleep with me! I would have her feet in my face, she would throw her arm over my face, kick me…you name it! I could never get any sleep when she would sneak into our bed! My youngest daughter would barely move all night long.! Yes…another Jari fan here! I will definitely let you know what I think of 1000. I may do that one Thanksgiving morning before we go to DH’s parent’s house.

Katrina – I love KPC! I have not done the DM cardio premix! I will have to try that! I hope I can preview 1000 tonight!! (I did manage to get the wrapper off of it…but that is about all)

Christine – I know what ya mean about getting yourself on and off the 8” inch step….since we are so tall. Cathe is “petite” and on a 6” step. You’ll get your cardio
capacity back real soon! I am really glad you are feeling more “up-to-par”!

Wendy – I really wish we had some good “fun” ½ marathons around here, too right now! But I want one on a flat course. There was one nearby me a few weeks ago…..but I was not prepared : (

RE: Hello!

Hello again!

I did the Leg Blast Premix from B&G and all I can say BURN BABY BURN! Holy cr@p! That is 47.5 mins of standing leg TORTURE!!! }( }( }( AWESOME premix, ladies! I followed it up with 30 mins of rebounding. :)

Alright...it's off to the showers now! I'll be back with my coffee for some personals in a bit!;-)

Ciao Bellas!:*

RE: Hello!

Judy: Wow you have a packed schedule today! Hope you can get it all done. I envy you being almost done with Christmas shopping. I started a few weeks ago but then haven't done a thing since so I still have a lot to do! I do that often. LOL

Jess: I am sooo happy for your run! ^5's! I guess this is the start of another journey towards a marathon, ey? }( I giggled when I read that you are busy today "sanatizing" your house now that no one is sick. LOL

Sunny: I am looking to do a 10k once it warms up a bit here myself. I have hm's around here...just nothing "fun". :-( Glad you liked Ripped 1000! I think it's a kick-@ss work out!

Christine: A trip to Cali would be LOVELY! I do vow to get there one day! I've never been! When I am planning it I'll let you know!:)

Carole: I've never washed my running sneaks. Probably never will! LOL I like them dirty...it proves they've taken a beating! }( I like your idea of an after X-mas sale! Even if I don't feel I need them replaced yet, I can save them for when I do! Good thinking! :)

Elaine: KG students running a turkey trot? HOW CUTE IS THAT! :+ Hope you had a good run. I haven't chosen a half to shoot for yet. I haven't seen any posted yet that take place in the fall but I'm keeping an eye out!:)

Linda: Ripped is my least fave of Jari's work outs but it's still a goodie. I do it on occasion. You should LOVE Ripped 1000. VERY intense!}(

Shelly: Cookmax with little sleep? That stinks!!! You should tell your DH that HE has to do the cooking this year!:p

Susan: I hope you find Jari more enjoyable next time around. I find her work outs to be VERY effective! The knee is feeling pretty good today! It twinged a bit during the warm up of B&G so I got worried but after that it was fine. I kept my cardio short and low impact just incase as well.

Katrina: B&G rocks! I think the premix I did today is even harder than the original work out...and it's SHORTER! *GASP!* HOpe you can fit in DrillMax in full soon. It's a great work out too!

RE: Hello!

Come in May Wendy - we'll run the Bay to Breakers together. You'll never feel bad about a boring race again! LOL. Just don't let Joey watch - some of the people run (or mostly walk) without a stitch on. *wonders why those are always the fat old men*

OK. That's just great! I have only one Jari Love DVD and apparently it's not the best one of all!!

So, which one is the best? With one vote already for S&L, what do you say Wendy?

Hey Cheetahs! It has been a busy busy day for me. Today was parent teacher conferences. My son got all 4 which is all A's in PA. I did Tae Bo Advanced today instead of KPC which was on my Nov rotation. Now don't boo me but I needed a Cathe free day. It's been non stop Cathe on this rotation. It's fun but exhausting. My DH told me that I look smaller. I was so excited! I weighed myself and haven't lost anything but my jeans are falling off of me. I think I am losing that waist. It's funny, I had a hard time finding jeans because they were snug in the waist but huge everywhere else. Anyway it is going away. YAY! Anyway, I think I need Jess to come to PA and take me shopping to finds some of her deals. Jess you always seem to find great stuff. OK, so tonight I am going to clean my downstairs and tackle the upstairs tommorow morning. The inlaws should be in from Indiana around 6. Gotta have my house sparkling for the MIL. Anyway, I have to feed my son, Alex so no time for personals but hi everyone. If I have time I'll come back later.
Ciao for now!

Hey cheetahs~
Checkin’ back in. I just came in from a 6 mile run, showered, and will be heading off to yoga a little later. It was pretty brisk out there this afternoon and getting darker and darker. :-(

Barb :: Hope you had a good run & ab workout and have a great trip/TG! Thanks…I’m not really organized. It’s just a façade. :)

Wendy :: YW…Re: fun races in this area…you’d probably dig the Broad Street 10-miler in Philly…it’s always in May…big race, lot of fun. There’s usually a band playing around City Hall. No naked fat guys, but hey, I think that’s a plus. :)

Judy :: YW also…you did have quite a bit on your plate today. I have to say…you look too young in your picture to have kids in college!

Jess :: Yippeeee! You were able to run 2! And you were certainly hustlin' at that pace. Nice job!

Sunny :: Got your PM. Will make a final call and then send out an update. Re: clean eating…I think the holidays will be all about damage control.

Christine :: the conferences are going well…thanks for asking. Tomorrow we have such a light load and some flex time banked, so my team can leave at 10:45. Woohoo!

Carole :: how was your 5 miler in the rain?

Elaine :: YW…that’s interesting that you don’t use the DVDs anymore.

Linda :: YW…I agree about runs in the rain - they *are* invigorating.

Shelly :: YW…once again, you have quite a heavy workout on your agenda. Hope you enjoyed it. Sorry about the sleep shortage!

Katrina :: sounds like you’ve been getting in some great workouts. I tend not to do my yoga videos, either. I really prefer to take a class in person when possible. It's so much more entertaining. }(

Susan :: you crack me up – not wanting hubby in your bed. It does sound like you might be working too hard lately. I only did Slim & Lean once also. It was all right, but I can’t seem to stray from my Cathes. YW for the addresses. My goal is to get cards out early this year, so look out!

LD :: congrats on the clothes getting loose! That’s awesome!

OK, a last call for any other cheetahs who want to be added to the holiday card list. If so, please PM me your mailing address.

Have a great night, everyone! Hard to believe, but I feel like I could go for another nap before yoga.

-cathy :)

Christine: Old naked men, huh? Um...and this is fun WHY!? :7 :7 :7 :p

Elaine: Refresh my memory...which Jari do you have? I love Slim and Lean!! RttC is awesome but I like Slim and Lean a little better. Ripped 1000 is also incredible! Really the only one that I am not ga-ga over is the original Ripped.

LD: Oy, cleaning for the MIL? Thank goodness my MIL is soooo not a clean freak! In fact, lots of times when I go over there, her house is messier than mine! Gotta love it! }(

Cathy: I wonder if I could run a 10 miler this May??? Hmmmm....not too certain about that but it's a goal to shoot for! You'd have to do it with me though!:+

Yes wendy my MIL is a clean freak my mom is not so I don't feel the need to clean like a maniac before she comes here.
I just wanted to let you cheetahs know that the reason I didn't add to the Christmas list because I am notoriously bad at sending cards and don't want to offend anyone. I do promise to give each one of you a personal shout out on here before the holidays!:) I am on the pc tonight later because I promised my little A, DS that we could camp out in the living room since there is no school tommorow. Why do kids like to sleep on the floor?! I'll never know but he is already sacked out! Anyway talk to y'all tomorrow!
LD

Trying my best to check in. I did LIC today and loved it. I think I will be cutting my running down to twice a week and doing some more Cathe instead.

Wendy, I have RTTC. I guess I better get S&L if it's better than RTTC. You CAN do a 10 miler by May, no problem. Aren't you up to 6 miles now? You're more than halfway there now!

Editing to add that I see that Ripped 1000 is a circuit workout. How would you rate it compared to Cathe?

Hello ladies,
Well I did KPCombos 1,2,3 and lower body portion of butts and gutts and PUB. I know I was not supposed to do cardio, but I just did a little. I am such a cardio junkie. I saw this rotation for premixes only on the video and rotation section. Some made one and posted it. It looks really good. I may have to try it. I HAVE to get out of the habit of doing cardio everyday. I am trashing my body.

Wendy, I know at one point you were cutting back on cardio. Did you feel better or did it make any difference?

Anyway, I am off to watch the the music awards and House. Have a great night!

Susan

Wendy - it's fun because the un-naked ones (men, women and whatevers- this is San Francisco after all) are usually dressed in costume. I ran beside Kiss (remember them?), a fully stocked Tiki bar, complete with bartender and blender being pulled by frat boys in grass skirts, Elvis, the Govenator... It's just a silly race. If you don't squeezed in at the front it takes 1/2 an hour to cross the finish line - and you're being bombarded by flying tortillas until you cross.

Cathy - Enjoy your time off! You certainly deserve it!!

Laurie - Are you a fan of Robert Fulgrahm? I saw you post about God and you mentioned a diety named Harold. I love that story by him, and I enjoy his books.

Susan- curious - why is cardio trashing you? Maybe that's something I need to think about!

Christine,
My body has always reacted negative with too much cardio. My immune system becomes compromised and my body feels tired and my aches. I have always read that too much exercise weakens your immune system and the nervous system and that is definitley me. When I take a week off and do yoga or walk instead of high impact stuff I feel so much better. It is just hard for me to take those weeks. I become very antsy. I used to be a girl that would literally work out 2-3 hours a day. I was definitley addicted to exercise. I am a lot better now, but it is definitley still there, the addiction.

Anyway, I am more more balanced in every way when I cut back on the working out. I eat better, I sleep better and I just feel better. Again,it is just convincing my mind of that. I actually had a pneumonia and several respiratory problems due to my immune system last year.

I hope that was not too much info:)

Susan

Definitely not too much info. Very important, I think, as we Cheetahs tend to over do (read out workouts some times!) I think there are tendencies there for all of us - if we know what to look for, what happens when it does become more than just a nice habit, then knowing what to look for, what to expect is invaluable. Thanks for sharing.
