:::CHEETAHS:::THURSDAY:::

Good morning Gloria and to all Cheetah babes!

Gloria - Have a great run this morning!

It's sooooo good to be back to the den lol! This post has to be a quickie but I should have a little time this afternoon to play catch up.

Horse show went well...got some good prizes against $$$$ company. To bevable to compete (and beat) million dollar horses ain't too shabby lol :7.

Today will be a rest day as I'm still recovering from lack of sleep from the past two days but.....

I just sent Cathe a PM to see if she is teaching tomorrow because I really want to head down there to take that class }( :D. Any NJ or PA Cheetahs want to join me??? I can't think of a better way to kick off my little string of days-off (I have through Tues off).

Gotta refill the java and do some chores before heading into work. Catch ya later!

Hi Girls.

Gloria: I hope you got a good run in. So are you secretly happy that your partner overslept, giving you the opportunity to run? ;)

Wendi: OMG I would LOVE to join you tmrw at Cathe's gym but I have no one to watch my little guy for me. Have fun though! :)

Today's work out will be AB stage 2 work out B and my 3rd out of 4 HIIT sessions this week.

DH leaves tmrw afternoon to head up Judy's way for the Lilac bowling tournament. I am dropping DS off at my SIL's at about 4pm for the weekend so the only breathing thing I have to worry about until Sunday afternoon is my dog!:7 I am planning on hangin' with BFF on friday night and then with mom saturday during the day. I might hang with BMF saturday night but not sure yet. On Sunday I am going to head north early so that I can go summer clothes shopping with my other SIL and then we will all have dinner together before I head home with DS. Should be a fun weekend.

I'm excited. My mom and her BF asked if we wanted to head down to A/C with them over the 4th of July weekend. I was doubtful that we'd be able to arrange for care for the dog and Joey but it's all taken care of. So now as long as there is a room available for us, we are there!!! YAY!}(

Alrighty, I'm done yammering on....time for more coffee!:9

HI Cheetahs!

Wendy- Your weekend sounds fun, as does the Fourth of July plans. One off these years you NEED to come up with DH when he heads this way! (Joey too!)

Wendi- Have a blast at Cathe's class!!!! And come back and report on it !

Gloria- did you enjoy the run?

I have some pretty good back DOMS from NROL4W. ~~~Golf should be interesting. Maybe it will be good, I won't try to smash the ball, LOL. I have to go back and check yesterdays thread. Have a good Thursday.

PS- My DD22 comes to visit from Manhattan tomorrow and we are soooooo excited to have her here!

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...the smoky run was not bad. I did not push too hard and only went 3 miles.

Wendi...enjoy your rest day. I am envious of your going to workout with Cathe...live!!

Jackie...Yes, when I first did P90X, I was running 3 times a week. I got great results in my upper body and abs. My lower body shrank but I did not get much definition there. Which is why I am adding 2 heavy leg days with the P90X+ rotation. Good workout yesterday and glad to hear your hip didn't ache the previous night. I agree as it is hard to get everything in like the foam rolling.

Gloria...Yes, we are supposed to be getting some fire crews from Oregon. This is the worst I have ever seen it, in the 28 years I have lived here. My runs have been fairly pain free. My hip pain seems to be subsiding, but I use the roller if the pain flares up. I prefer morning workouts too. Good job on the 5 miles. How was the shrimp?

Wendy...sounded like a good HIIT and run yesterday. The fires are scary, and the smoke is terrible. Sounds like a nice weekend planned! Enjoy your workout today.

Judy...We have smoke but not much brown skies like Christine...:)...it just has an overcast look to it. The run was not bad, I only went 3 miles and did not push it. LOL about your DS being sick of healthy meals! Sounded like a tasty family recipe you made for him. Have a nice visit with DD22.

We got a little scare yesterday afternoon. A fire started about 3 miles away and they were evacuating (but not us). Thank god they got it controlled and it only got to 40 acres....this can be unnerving...

The run yesterday was not bad at all, I just did not push hard and felt fine all day. Today will be legwork, EXT and Yoga. I do have some DOMS from Total Body+!

Have a great day...:)

Good morning, cheetahs -- :)

Carole ~ oh my gosh--that is far too close for comfort! I'm glad everything's OK, but I can just imagine the kind of anxiety and strain this causes. (((HUGS))) to you (and all the Cali cheetahs).

Wendi ~ if it were a Monday class, I'd take you up on that, but advanced step is just not for me, sorry. Hope you have a blast, though!

Hi to Gloria, Wendy, and Judy.

I'm starting a nice stretch off. Will be hitting back, bi's, and abs today.

Hope everyone's enjoying the morning. BBL--

"Do you want to feel my spatula?" Run, Fat Boy, Run

Carole – I’m impressed that you’re still out there running in this! I know chiro works, but I’m so hesitant to try because I always get the feeling that once you start, you have to keep going back for adjustments. Maybe that would be a good thing for me. But I’m so stubborn. I cannot wait to get back to the X+’s. TB+ is fun, isn’t it? Oh, thank heavens they got the fire under control! That would be very scary!!!

Shelly – Hope you got some sleep yesterday! How’s the job overall? Do you like it? Are you learning your way around Philly yet? I’m going to try to work the back today, but I’ll be very, very careful. I would rather heal, then get in a good workout, but I think my coworkers would rather me workout! :+ I’ve been bouncing off walls.

Lorie – good job with NROLW and Swimming – that’s a lot of swimming!

Jackie – glad you don’t have to worry about the fires. It’s not fun. Thanks for the wishes! I was a good yesterday and rested. It helped. I’m hoping it helped enough. :p Glad the hip is feeling good.

Gloria – Oh, when I started mountain biking seriously, I went through a phase where I seemed to wipe out two days out of three. Of course I ALWAYS landed on a rock. So my knees were the size of watermelons for a while. I got tired of the pain, and when I moved to Maryland, I took up road biking. I still enjoy the occasional off trail, but I like them a little less technical now. :p I’m with you on the AM tough workout. Hope the shrimp were delicious!

Wendy – I’m so glad the treadmill is getting better for you again! Sorry you’ll have to cover a Sunday shift. That’s not fun. I hate working weekends. Glad it’s not on a regular basis. I hope it clears soon, too. Saturday I have to ride outside – I hope the air clears up soon! Oh enjoy your breathing non-furred creature free weekend!! That sounds like heaven! And 4th of July in AC?! Even more fun!!

Jackie – too funny about the kids liking something different, although the ground turkey doesn’t sounds TOO bad. I have no clue as to what happened to my back. I just moved the exact wrong way and the wrong time. As we would say in PA Dutch Country (I grew up in Lancaster, PA), I “rutched” it. (which basically means I moved in the wrong way and the wrong time – but is so much easier to say :p).

Cathy – Germany won, didn’t they? Yeah, a brown sunrise is not pretty. The sun was bright red like Carole’s photo though. That was pretty amazing. Oh my, a 10 yo with those psychic powers? That would be tough. I really wanted to join the Red Cross to help with things like the fires, and as I went through the trial by fire with Katrina, I could have joined easily, but with DH working the schedule he does, I simply cannot dedicate 3 weeks with a moments notice to helping others at this point. Once the kids are grown, maybe – but then I’ll have to worry about the doggies. Maybe I’ll just train another search dog. :p But that’s my answer – I can only do so much, but as long as I’m out there helping in SOME way, I’m doing okay. This year, it’s only raising funds for cancer research.

Wendi – Glad the horse show went well! Impressive that you have horses that compete against and beat those million dollar horses. I hope you have fun at Cathe’s class tomorrow!!

Another smoky day here. Health advisories everywhere. Fun. I think my group will ride tonight, and I know I need outdoor riding but not in this. The news last night had warnings all over the place about outdoor exercise. My back is feeling better. It actually starting feeling better yesterday. I still get twinges, but I can bend over without wanting to cry. I’m going to try the trainer to see how it feels. Hopefully I can get a decent ride on the trainer in today. :p But I will be very careful! I have a small rant about work – the company has an annual picnic close by. It’s from 12-4 – basically we have the afternoon off. BUT, because it’s end of quarter, the sales reps can only go from 12-2. We HAVE to be back in the office. Why plan something like this end of quarter? Of course, I’ve made my number, but I’m the only one in the group at this point. As I said, it’s a small rant. There are worse things. Have a great day all!

Cathy...thanks for the HUGS...:)...Enjoy your nice stretch off. Have fun with the back, bi and ab workout.

Christine...Chiropractic adjusting does depend a lot on the Chiropractor! A good one will treat your current condition and not force you to come back all the time. I try and go a couple of times a week as I enjoy visiting with my nephew...:)..(and he gives me a good rate!)...You know me, I will run in about any kind of condition outdoors...I will keep my fingers crossed for a good trainer ride for you today. That does seem a bit ridiculous about the annual picnic...

Carole - Well, if my nephew were a chiropractor, I might go, too. :p If the back lingers too long, I might go, but it seems to be getting better. I had a fun ride. Yeah, we're not too happy about it - it's just a bad planning job.

I did Spinervals Zoot Challenge, which is a 40 minute workout - didn't want to push too much. I have the feeling I weakened my back by riding my new bike with the seat too low and a heavy camelback, then strained it but lifting something wrong, or something. It was a little uncomfortable to ride, (which was why I only did the 40 minutes)but it was not too bad. Oddly, during the cool down, I sat up and massaged my back, and the pain basically disappeared. I have some now, but it's still much better - I can lean over without looking like an old lady. :+

Good morning Cheetahs! It's almost Friday! Yippee!!

Gloria - IA that the foam roller is worth its weight in gold. Good job on the 5 miles yesterday. I like morning workouts too. Get them out of the way and don't have to worry. How was the shrimp? Love shrimp! Hope you had a good run this morning too.

Wendy - Great HIIT workout yesterday! Hope Joey enjoyed bowling. No races on the agenda yet. May look at some for Sept or Oct. For some reason, I just don't feel like dealing with the heat. The races I was doing last year started at 7:00 am and that helped. Most of the others don't start until 8 and you know it's already hot then. Sounds like you have two fun weekends planned.

Marcia - Good luck with conquering that hill! You can do it!

Judy - The turkey recipe you made sounds delicious. No one really cares to eat dinner at my house because they know I'm all about healthy. Enjoy having DD at home. How long will she stay?

Cathy - I'm sure it's mean to do those last minute bids on ebay but it works sometimes. }( I do have a tennis ball at work that I can roll around on. It's sitting right here on my desk and I still forget to use. But, guess what, I just put it to use after reading your post. I don't use Ben Gay, Bio Freeze, etc. I could give it a try. Did you enjoy your stretch?

Wendi - Glad the horse show went well and brough home some $$$. Enjoy your rest day! Have fun visiting Cathe tomorrow. That should be fun!

Carole - Glad the smoky run was good. Maybe I should add an extra leg day the next time I do P90X. I did get good UB results. The close call yesterday had to be a little unnerving. Glad they got it under control. Yay for the DOMS. Enjoy your workout today!

Christine - Hope the back continues to improve. I know you are babying it. Don't think it's fair that everyone can't attend the picnic for the entire time. Yeah, why do it at the busiest time? Rant whenever you need to.

I tried out Kimberly Spreen's Absolute Kickboxing. I did about 20 minutes of the combat section. Really like this workout. Can't wait to try the entire workout and some of the others. Joined Grace for iTread #13 Sprints and hung with the runners' pace. I even did the stretch. Finished up with GS Biceps. Forgot to use the foam roller this morning. Hope this tennis ball makes up for it.

Enjoy your day ladies!

Jackie

Hiya cheetahs! Well, I did a very unusual and embarassing thing yesterday. I was so exhausted I fell into bed without setting the alarm. Normally this wouldn't be a problem. Even being tired I rarely sleep more then 6 hours during the day. Well I was asleep by 0900. I woke up thinking it was unusually dark in the bedroom and looked at the clock... it was 6:30pm!!!!!!!! (I have to be at work at 7pm) I slept 9.5 hrs!! Well, I got ready in RECORD time and thank you God the freeway traffic was light... I'm only 5 miles from work and ended up getting there just in time, although feeling a bit spacey!

Well, I have a nice 5 night stretch off now and can really enjoy it. Nothing like working hard to make you appreciate your days off!!
I'll be getting together with DH for a househunting trip also.
I may join Wendi at the stepping class tomorrow too. After I woke up I headed down to the fitness center and did Itread20 and got in10k in 54 minutes. I'll be doing MM later this afternoon.

Jackie- Interesting thought about the perfect pushups maybe being the cause of your shoulder discomfort, especially since that is what they advertise to prevent! You do have a good point about not being bothered by the pushups before with the original p90x. I'll be curious to hear if your change in routine helps. I am definitely back in the swing of things alright!!! and glad to be off that dang swing for a bit now!! (LOL)

Gloria- Fierce.... who me? I'm a pussycat! But you are so right over how we are all here to motivate. Cheetahs rock!!

Wendy- I'd say those TM troubles are leaving you behind... YAY!! Sorry to hear your little guy acted up at the wrong moment but I can guarantee you the person who was bothered the most by it was you. Even a CBCer like me (childless by choice) understands that little ones just do that.. it is how they're programmed. Oh you do have a FUN weekend planned!!

Marcia- Great run yesterday... that is some HILL!!

Judy- Great way to pass the time while playing chaperone... shopping for fitness workouts!! Never have tried the CCs.. maybe I should.

Wendi- Great to have you back in the den!! Oh my.... a Cathe class? I may take you up on that... Let me check what DH has in mind.

Carole - Glad to hear you made it through yesterdays run.... or that is your lungs made it! Oh my, that last fire was close!!! I hope there is some rain in the forecast for you soon.

Cathy- Officially off for the summer now? Sorry you're not into stepping... I'd love to see ya!
Well, I'm probably only a half hour away anyway,... I'll be seein ya!

Christine- Boy did I get some sleep yesterday!!!! hooboy. The job is a busy one... but I like it that way and the unit is a nice one. Everything is new and automated... very up to date! I wish you a safe and successful back workout. Hey, I'm not getting something here.... if you've made your sales number why can't you have the whole afternoon off? NOT right! BTW, Carole is right on about her chiro advice.... but then again she's right on about pretty much everything!

That's it for now cheetahs!

Shelly

Wendy: Nice job with the ext and run yesterday. I laughed at your post this morning about my partner sleeping in! :) I love the compainionshop, but, yes, I was secretly happy to run instead. }( Wow, your weekend does sound really fun! It feels good to go out and do things. I will be looking forward to that since I will not be teaching summer school after tomorrow!!!

Cathy: Glad you enjoyed the game yesterday. The freedom is feeling pretty dang good I can imagine! I am happy to be done teaching summer school tomorrow. I am bringing in ice cream for the kids. They gave me no trouble and everyone participated. I forgot to buy blasted bowls and spoons though, so I will have to pick that up in the morning. x( Did you do free style today or a dvd? Have you read Loser by Jerry Spinelli? We are reading it in summer school and I am just cracking up right in class. I can't help it. At least the kids are laughing too, just not as loud as me! It is probably too low for your kids (5.5-6.0), but a good read anyway.

Wendi: So cool you will be going to Cathe's class. I would LOVE to go to a live class. She always makes me laugh in the dvds. Especially in butts and gutts when she says something during the firewalkers about her boys saying she looks like a crab! Excellent about your horse show success. :)

Judy: Yes, I did have a really nice run. Felt strong today. That will be nice to have DD22 home. I laughed about you chaperoning the bonfire last night. Gotta keep the kids out of trouble. I hope you enjoy the golf today without too much pain. :)

Carole: Scary news about the fire being so close. Heck, the fire we had here a little bit ago was about 13 miles from my house and I had a disturbed feeling! So sorry you gals and those who've lost their homes are enduring all this extra stress. It is nice to hear the pain is dissipating. I used my foam roller last night and felt fine on my run this morning.

Christine: OUCH on those falls! Right on the rocks too. I have never been a daredevil. :) My bike is hanging from the rafters in the garage and I am too short to get it down, even when I stand on something. I left DH a note this morning to take it down and he didn't! x( He better have been running late! :) We have a nice state park in town with lots of trails I would like to take it out on. Soon I hope. I will have to nag DH when he gets home tonight. That is silly about the picnic. Sometimes it seems the people "in charge" don't seem to know what they are doing. It sounds like you are getting better. Good! I am looking forward to the race report!

Jackie: I LOVE seafood too. When I first started working at Red Loster in college I didn't like it, it grew on me. So you like this kickboxing dvd? I was looking at it on collage. It had mixed reviews. I prefer kickboxing over the step workouts. I feel like I am tough when I do those! LOL! :) Fantastic you were going runner's pace on Itread. I get there sometimes, not often though. :)

Shelly: 5 nights off, that is good news! Your pussycat comment was cute! :) I am afraid I will not wake up (which is silly, for me) so I always set 2 alarms when I am getting my clothes ready for the morning. Glad you made it to work on time. Crossing my fingers for a successful house hunting experience! :)

Had a nice 4 mile run this morning. This afternoon I did Yoga for Happiness "The Quickie." I like it. That instructor is certainly a lover, not a hater! It was funny when he was hugging everyone at the end. Good workout, thanks for the reccommendations girls! I didn't realize how TIGHT my hips were. The shrimp turned out well last night. I usually make shrimp scampi, but branched out and made a marinade and put them on the grill instead. Tomorrow is the last day of summer school!! YES!! This girl will be sleeping in (until probably 6:30)! Have a nice evening everyone.

hi guys *waves weakly*

i must have overdone it yesterday with working out and running around with dean because i felt so ill this morning. still that same stomach bug/cold thing going on. of course, i got chastised by dean for "doing too much" exercise-wise yesterday but at the time i felt fine (he thinks i am "obsessed" by exercise...whatever!).

anyway, i have slept most of the day away and plan on taking it easy tonight and tomorrow.

just wanted to check in. sorry for the lack of personals.

Howdy ladies!

Gotta jump in the shower and get de-skankified from work...yuck! I will be right back after I'm smelling a bit sweeter lol to catch up with personals.

One important thing though....Lorie I need tantrum girl here.....

Shelly - Cathe is more than likely NOT teaching tomorrow and is trying to find a sub....WWWWWWWWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH! I was sooooo excited when I saw that you were going to join me ;( ;(. I guess it'll have to wait until the RT ;(. I was so stoked about tomorrow...oh well. It amazes me she's able to keep up with teaching all those classes with all the work being put into STS.

Must go get clean now. BBIAB.

Wendi- I e-mailed ya... not a prob, there will be many opportunities in the future for sure.

Hey, I plugged in Cathe's address for my GPS... whaddayaknow... I am less then a half hour away from there!!!   That gym is fabulous... I remember that indoor track and all those machines!
I may just make a little road trip on my own now and then.

Shelly

Evening, cheetahs-- http://pic4ever.com/images/wassat.gif

My workout time today inadvertently became nap time. *lol* Don't know what happened there, but I enjoyed a two-hour snoozefest and woke up just in time for the game. Afterward, I did a core routine shown in this month's RW. I think I will just hold off on back & bi's and do them before tomorrow morning's run.

Christine...I'm glad to hear your back is doing somewhat better. It is pretty easy to "rutch" it :) and not that easy to "un-rutch" it when you're active. I've heard folks express similar apprehension about chiro adjustments, but I don't feel "addicted" to adjustments. I just know for me they *do* help, and I think it's regular adjustment that has had an impact on my migraine headaches. I probably never would have considered it if I hadn't heard about Carole's and Susan's experiences with it, and I'm so glad for their encouragement. I wish I had sought treatment after my first car accident. I do believe it would have made a difference. OK, I'll stop rambling now. :7...Germany did win, but it wudn't pretty. Don't know how they will fare in the final against the Spanish, who have had solid showings throughout the tournament...Re: the psychic girl, she could also see ghosts and actually went by herself into a dark attic at night. I couldn't believe it. I would have been petrified. *lol* Brave, little thing. But she was really anguished about the premonitions...You're right--even pitching in on a small level is important...Does stink about the sales crew getting limited picnic time.

Carole...thanks for the Flair...hilarious! :7

Jackie...I don't like Ben Gay 'cuz I think it stinks, but I think the Sombra or BioFreeze truly do help for the achy parts. :)...The 7 am race times are necessary in the summer, IMO, but you so rarely see them around here, too. IA, even at 8, it can be too hot & humid for a comfortable run...Oh, I didn't stretch today; I just meant I have a stretch of two weeks off from work. :7

Shelly...wow, I'm glad you managed to make it into work on time after a marathon sleep session...I'm off for two weeks now--yippee! :) A regular step class--maybe, but advanced? That's just a tad bit much for this choreo-challenged cheetah. :7 I would say Rt. 42 and 55 would put you in Glassboro right quick if the traffic's decent.

Gloria...oh, the kids'll be so excited to get ice cream--how nice!...I wound up just doing abs. I'll probably do a DVD mish-mosh like I did with Supersets the other day...I have read Loser and have a copy in my classroom library for independent reading. Not as many students reach for it as they did when I taught 6th or 7th, but I do love Spinelli's work...Count me in as another seafood lover among us!...Cracked up about your comments about Eion. Some of the cheetahs here would refer to his ice cream remarks, and when I first heard it on the workout, I busted out laughing. He does make ya smile...Enjoy sleeping in tomorrow!

Lorie...Sometimes those things creep up on you. You think you're feeling fine or you nipped it, and then BAM! Sendin' ya big healing vibes! THINK ARUBA! :)

Wendi...I don't have tantrum girl, but here's a substitute for ya: http://pic4ever.com/images/tantrumsmiley.gif Sorry it didn't work out this time.

Hope everyone else is doing well. Have a great night!

Good Evening Cheetahs.

I'll save personals for the morning since it's late.

Just wanted to come back here before bed to report my work out for today. I follwed suit with Cathy in that I took a nap and then was having a hard time motivating myself to work out. I finally forced myself to do something but only had an hour to spare and could not cram in the AB weight work out plus HIIT so I changed it up.

I did KBG's full body premix (it's 30 minutes long) and then did half of Interval X+ for my 3rd HIIT of the week. It wasn't the hardest work out I've ever done in my life but I worked up a good sweat and it only took me an hour from w/u through cool down so it was just what I needed today.

I think I will do a CC tomorrow morning at the gym (Volume 8 perhaps!}() and just call that my 4th and final HIIT for the week and my regular cardio all rolled into one. Then on Saturday morning I can just do the AB weight work out I missed today and Sunday will be my rest day. :)

I think I am going to start changing things up next week. Although I am seeing nice results with the AB program, I am getting bored with the weight work outs. I can tell as I am getting very lazy about doing them. I am going to stick with the cardio portion of the program as well as the eating but I think I am going to only do one AB weight work out each week (I will alternate them ofcourse) and fill the other 2 weight days with a kb work out and another f/b weight work out of my choice. Perhaps I'll have the motivation to get back to get back to the TRUE AB rotation in the near future. I just feel the need to mix it up a bit right now. I hope I continue to see results after implementing these changes. If I don't, then that should light a fire under my behind to get back with the AB program as written!}( If I DO continue to see results then no harm done, right? ;)

Alrighty, it's getting late...I need to get to bed...

Good night ladies!:*
