Carole – I’m impressed that you’re still out there running in this! I know chiro works, but I’m so hesitant to try because I always get the feeling that once you start, you have to keep going back for adjustments. Maybe that would be a good thing for me. But I’m so stubborn. I cannot wait to get back to the X+’s. TB+ is fun, isn’t it? Oh, thank heavens they got the fire under control! That would be very scary!!!
Shelly – Hope you got some sleep yesterday! How’s the job overall? Do you like it? Are you learning your way around Philly yet? I’m going to try to work the back today, but I’ll be very, very careful. I would rather heal, then get in a good workout, but I think my coworkers would rather me workout! :+ I’ve been bouncing off walls.
Lorie – good job with NROLW and Swimming – that’s a lot of swimming!
Jackie – glad you don’t have to worry about the fires. It’s not fun. Thanks for the wishes! I was a good yesterday and rested. It helped. I’m hoping it helped enough.
Glad the hip is feeling good.
Gloria – Oh, when I started mountain biking seriously, I went through a phase where I seemed to wipe out two days out of three. Of course I ALWAYS landed on a rock. So my knees were the size of watermelons for a while. I got tired of the pain, and when I moved to Maryland, I took up road biking. I still enjoy the occasional off trail, but I like them a little less technical now.
I’m with you on the AM tough workout. Hope the shrimp were delicious!
Wendy – I’m so glad the treadmill is getting better for you again! Sorry you’ll have to cover a Sunday shift. That’s not fun. I hate working weekends. Glad it’s not on a regular basis. I hope it clears soon, too. Saturday I have to ride outside – I hope the air clears up soon! Oh enjoy your breathing non-furred creature free weekend!! That sounds like heaven! And 4th of July in AC?! Even more fun!!
Jackie – too funny about the kids liking something different, although the ground turkey doesn’t sounds TOO bad. I have no clue as to what happened to my back. I just moved the exact wrong way and the wrong time. As we would say in PA Dutch Country (I grew up in Lancaster, PA), I “rutched” it. (which basically means I moved in the wrong way and the wrong time – but is so much easier to say
).
Cathy – Germany won, didn’t they? Yeah, a brown sunrise is not pretty. The sun was bright red like Carole’s photo though. That was pretty amazing. Oh my, a 10 yo with those psychic powers? That would be tough. I really wanted to join the Red Cross to help with things like the fires, and as I went through the trial by fire with Katrina, I could have joined easily, but with DH working the schedule he does, I simply cannot dedicate 3 weeks with a moments notice to helping others at this point. Once the kids are grown, maybe – but then I’ll have to worry about the doggies. Maybe I’ll just train another search dog.
But that’s my answer – I can only do so much, but as long as I’m out there helping in SOME way, I’m doing okay. This year, it’s only raising funds for cancer research.
Wendi – Glad the horse show went well! Impressive that you have horses that compete against and beat those million dollar horses. I hope you have fun at Cathe’s class tomorrow!!
Another smoky day here. Health advisories everywhere. Fun. I think my group will ride tonight, and I know I need outdoor riding but not in this. The news last night had warnings all over the place about outdoor exercise. My back is feeling better. It actually starting feeling better yesterday. I still get twinges, but I can bend over without wanting to cry. I’m going to try the trainer to see how it feels. Hopefully I can get a decent ride on the trainer in today.
But I will be very careful! I have a small rant about work – the company has an annual picnic close by. It’s from 12-4 – basically we have the afternoon off. BUT, because it’s end of quarter, the sales reps can only go from 12-2. We HAVE to be back in the office. Why plan something like this end of quarter? Of course, I’ve made my number, but I’m the only one in the group at this point. As I said, it’s a small rant. There are worse things. Have a great day all!
