Good morning, cheetahs :)

Today's the last day of standardized testing for our kids today -- yippee!! I think I'll be just as glad as they are that it's over.

Not much to catch up with from last night...

Christine :: hope you didn't work TOO late last night ~ enjoy your rest day today. :)

Well, a slight adjustment to our road trip schedule will allow me to get in a Fluidity workout before we leave this afternoon. Hopefully, I can pop in here, too, to catch up on what's going on with you all. If not, I'll be MIA for a few days, and if that's the case, I hope you all have a terrific weekend and pain & injury-free workouts!!

-Cathy :)

Have an awesome trip Cathy! So did you order BBC in hopes that it will be at your doorstep when you arrive home from your skiing jaunt?;) ;) :p :7 }(

Okay, time for personals since I never did them yesterday. Bad Wendy!:p

Shelly, What's an inservice?? I will be good with the BBC's. I subbed in the BBC lower body work out cause that is an extra work out anyway but I am not going to "cheat". I am going to finish my X rotation in full and THEN I will play with the BBC's...I PROMISE!;)

Judy, Felt like spring by you, felt like summer by me! I had Joey and Clyde outside playing from 5 to 6pm last night and we could have been in shorts it was so warm!!!!

Kristi, Marcia is doing the X while training for a half so you might look to her for ideas on how to get it done. I suggested doing it like the doubles rotation...2 work outs a day...atleast on most days. In my estimation that's the only way to really fit it all in. You can always run in place of any X cardio which will help as well.
It's funny that you mentioned that you were a med. trans. in your post b/c a while ago I picked a fellow Catheites brain about that career. She is one and it sounded like a good option for me since I was staying home with DS but wanted to make some $ too. I think the PT thing will work out well though. I can make a decent buck even working part time and I will get a job at a gym with a daycare so I can take him with me and won't have to pay the big bucks to a regular daycare. I am creeping along slowly with the exam. I feel good about the written part but I am very nervous about completing the practical portion!

Jess, I hope Kiersten enjoys her day!!!

Marcia, Do what you can as far as workouts go. They certainly DO help with stress but don't exhaust yourself trying to fit it all in. Take a break from the long tough work outs and do some shorter easier stuff if you need to. The fact that you keep moving is what counts! Hope you are feeling better today!

Carole, I saw yours and Cathy's posts about the Dreya roll...I can't even do it properly! I don't know why I even bother trying! LOL Let us know when you get BBC!

Sunny, So how did your in home PT training go? Now is this clients coming to YOUR home or are you going to thiers? Have you done it before y'day? I can't believe that you are already almost at a point where you will need to turn clients down. That is INCREDIBLE! How many more days until that cruise girl!?

Jackie, I saw what you posted to Carole about the Slim Series. I have it but have to admit that I pretty much hate it. LOL I tried really hard to like it but I just can't. x( I'm glad you enjoy it though. Have you ever done a full rotation with it? I am told it can offer some nice results if you see it through.

Christine, You haven't been able to post much lately, busy girl! Hope to see you around more in the future!

Susan, So you are excited about your lil' getaway with DH? Good for you! We moms need that!;) DH and I are going to get a sitter for some amt of time this weekend. It's our anniversary so we atleast want to be able to go out to dinner alone...}( :9 :)

Hello Linda, Gayle and anyone else I may have missed! :+

Just a quick check in - I finished Shoulders and Arms X THIS MORNING, WOW - that's big for me to get right into a workout. I'M LOVIN' the feeling of those endorphins working so quick this morning :7 }( I will fit in ARX after work and my step class this evening.

I'm feeling better and keeping a journal of what is happening with my body so when I do get in to see the doctor I have a good record and hopefully that will help.

I'm off to the shower and get ready for work, I'll check back later in the morning.

Have an AWESOME day everyone!
Marcia.

P.S. - the results ARE starting to come ;-) and MORE on the way.

Good morning ladies!!! I finally have some peace and quiet and time to do personals. SO SORRY I’ve just been posting and running!

I’m feeling sort of left out with all the talk about BBC and foam rollers! LOL. Too bad I’m not in the market for more workout goodies (repeating that to myself over and over and over), lol.

Cathy-I really hope you have an awesome time this weekend! I think I may have missed this fact, but is this trip with your friend that’s been having “relationship issues”???

Judy-I felt pretty sorry for you too, with that stray and his ‘dinner’ mess! Mouse guts…yeah, that would do it for me! LOL

Wendy-I’m laughing at you with your NEXT rotation already lined up! LOL Got me thinking what I’m going to do next too, after my April half and before my full training starts up. See what ya started? LOL

Shelly-GEEZ! A 6 mile interval run AND an iCycle! Yeah, I’d do that too! LOL Hope the in-service day went quickly!

Kristi-so this is your first half? How exciting is THAT! Awesome! As for X and running, I PMd you the rotation Carole emailed me a few weeks back that incorporated Cathe, X and running.

Marcia-speaking of that rotation, I did indeed email that off to you. I used the email link like the PM. I PM’d it this time! Hope life calms down SOON!

Jess-DDs BDay plans sounded yummy and FUN! Glad the teeth match once again! LOL I dated a guy in high school who had a silver cap on his front tooth! We were in the ‘jock’ gang so everybody thought it was so cool! LOL

Carole-so, the shorter iTrain workouts are tough? I’m thinking of getting an iClimb to use on the stepper at the Y for an added change (or addition) to my workout! And, hope you don’t mind, but I’m sharing the rotation you sent me for running/Cathe/P90X!

SunnyD-how’d the in home client go? How about the workout???

Jackie-great run!!!!!

Christine-I'll be emailing you back about Spinervals. Your morning yesterday sounded HEAVENLY with Pilates and Stretch X! Nice change of pace when it’s needed!

Susan-I agree with giving your mind a break. I get overwhelmed when I start focusing on calories in vs. calories out all the time. How was the walk, by the way??? And how’s MOM??? Enjoy your weekend away with DH too!

Linda-great workout combo with the walk and GS Legs! I’m sporting some good DOMS in my hammies from it! LOL Makes mounting and dismounting my bike a bit painful too! lol

Sunny & Wendy-I’m very curious as to your certification procedures for PTing??? Any details or websites you could share? It’s something I’ve always been interested in and with younger DS going FT to school next year, I am starting to feel the need to start earning some money again. Thanks!

This morning, due to tight hamstrings and a craving for a good stretch, I did Core Max 2 and Yee's Power Yoga Total Body. I surprised myself again when I broke a sweat on this one! LOVE IT and it felt awesome!

Hello ladies,

cathy- you must go and order BBC now....lol. have a wonderful trip!!

marcia- yippeee nothing we love more than results from our hard work. good for you!!

wendy- the pt is going so well. i am just in awe. my mgr. told me yesterday that i am making a very nice name for myself. i have been training my own personal client for about a month now. i go to his home. his mother is my hairdresser and she recommended me to him. it's working out very nicely. don't sweat the practical girl, you are going to kick but#!! only 30 more days to my cruise!!!!!!!!!!

gayle- how did you like your yoga workout? any recommendations for a beginner? i love working with my in home client. i want more, lol.

today is my rest day but i am feeling like i wanna do some cardio. we'll see because of course i have lots of errands to run. gotta go to ds's school and speak with his teacher and principal. seems like he is being bullied by one of the other little boys in his class. the teacher actually described the little boy as having "an attitude". geez, i really wonder where these young children are learning to become so violent at such an early age. it is so disturbing to me....sorry for the rant ladies.

Have a great day all!!:)

Good morning cheetahs

Cathy...Enjoy your fluidity workout. I bet you are looking forward to this fun weekend. A rest day can always be a good thing. I know we will miss you posting but I do hope you have an awesome time.

Wendy...so you liked the BBC workout? Not sure when I get mine, they don't seem to be answering their email as I have gotten no info from their tracking number. But, I will let you know when I get the workouts.

Marcia...glad you are feeling better. I think you can go thru the change in your 30's. Talking to your doc is the best thing. I am 48 and still have my parts, my nurse practitioner said I will probably go thru the change in my 50's. Good job with the results from P90X!!

Sunny...good job on increasing the weight amount with your new squat rack!

Jackie...I think I will also warm up a bit on my elliptical before my 3 mile run this morning. Good workout yesterday.

Gayle...yes you could use any of the iClimbs for the stepper. I have most all of the 40 min ones, and even the 20 min ones give you a good workout if you are short on time. No, I don't mind at all if you share my rotation..:)..Good job with Coremax and your Yoga workout.

Susan...I agree sometimes we can get a bit manic about cals/food...hope you had a nice walk with Katie.

Kristi...that is what I did when I ran during P90X, I did a doubles rotation and ran instead of the P90X cardio. I think you can squeeze it in doing about 50 min, but it'll be tough. I would think down time form high pressure jobs would be a very good thing! I dope your DH has a good time...

Linda...I use the DVD too, until I can memorize the foam roller stretches. I think it is helping alot. Seems like the GS workouts are popular this week!

Shelly...great pace for your 6.2 mile run yesterday! So, where are you vacationing this June?

Christine....hope work isn't too busy today!

I am thinking about a Freestyle approach for my lower body again as the heavier weights might have contributed to my injuries. So B&G standing, abs, a EXT warm-up and a 3 mile run are on tap for today.

Have a great day...:)

Good morning ladies!!

Jess - Glad Kiersten enjoyed her day!

Shelly - Great job on the 6.2 miles and great time! Where will you be going on vacation. I could stand one now. Think I would need more than a 12 step program to help me with workouts. :7 Just don't like being bored.

Cathy - Hope you have a safe and fun trip.

Christine - I feel your pain from the bike. OUCH!! Enjoy your rest day.

Wendy - Yes, I did a SS rotation for a month once and only once. Other than that, I just throw them in for a week here and there. I think I got some nice definition from using the lower weights and more reps. My arms really looked good. It made me hungrier though. I just wish all of the workouts were an hour or less.

Marcia - Good workout! Glad you're feeling better. Keeping a journal sounds like a very good idea. Yippee on the results!!

Gayle - Glad you enjoyed your workout today. So, how long is Yee's Power Yoga Total Body? Do you mind sending me a copy of the rotation to [email protected]?

Sunny - Enjoy your rest day! Hope you get things straightened out as school for DS. Kids can be so cruel sometimes.

Carole - How often do you do the freestyle workout? Have a great workout!

I did Firm It Up. I did some of the moves on my Bosu to get a different feel with balancing. Also, used ankle weights. OUCH!! Finished up with a 10 minute walk and some extra stretching. My buns are still feeling the burn.

Have a great Thursday!

Jackie

Good morning ladies,
I am SORE from my 7 mile walk. It is a good sore though:) I really feel it in my hip flexors. It was pretty hilly. Today, I am going to do my fave, butts and gutts leg blast premix. I am not sure when I am doing it but, I will get it in sometime.

I am working in Allyson's classroom today and then have a pt appointment. My back is still doing pretty well. I just have to really adjust my workouts to how I feel that particular day. That is kind of hard for me, because I am such a planner that I like to do my schedule a week in advance. Oh well, that is just the way it is for now:)

I will be back for personals later, I PROMISE!!

Susan

Hey Lovely Cheetah Ladies –

I think I have a bit more time today, but I was up at 5AM working. I love my job (I keep telling myself that! Over and Over and Over again. I may actually believe it one day). No workout for me this morning – rest day. I’m feeling good, though as I’m pretty sore from the last few days.

Cathy – ENJOY YOUR TRIP! How fun! Glad you got to get some Fluidity in. I’m thinking of you swishing down the slopes and I’m jealous (mainly because I cannot swish down slopes to save my life! LOL). Enjoy yourself!

Wendy – thanks! I’m hoping, too. I think it’s end of quarter and the big push that is causing my craziness (okay, busy-ness – I was crazy well before this job). Have fun with BBC. Are you really going to let them sit there and taunt you? You are a far stronger woman than I am!!

Marcia – I think it’s great that you’re doing X and training for a half – just use caution. It was too much for me – which doesn’t mean it will be too much for you, but both are hard core and tough to do. If you feel yourself getting overwhelmed, cut back on one or the other. Great job on the results!!

Gayle – THANKS! Glad we came to the agreement! Can’t wait to try the new one!! I’ll never get off my bike! LOL Great job on Core Max and Yoga – I love that one – it’s tough. Sometimes our bodies just need that.

Sunny – so sorry your little one is being bullied. It’s so tough to see your child go through that. Go give some attitude back to the school (but in a good way, of course – you’re too much the lady for it to be in a bad way!).

Carole – interesting that heavy lifting may have contributed. I know for me that lower body workouts using lighter weights (like L&G or B&G) work better for me – they keep my legs slimmer and actually give me more DOMS – but then again, I’m always dealing with an injury of some sort. So, I don’t know what the answer is, really. I’m thinking of you, though – and hope you recover soon!

Jackie – I love the BOSU. My gym offers a class on it – kind of a circuit training one – and it really gets me every time I can make it. The balance required is amazing. I’m thinking of getting one, but I’m trying to think of how to explain that to DH….

Susan – A 7 mile walk on hills will do that! Way to go, by the way! Nice to get outside, though – wasn’t it? I’m jealous! Have fun in the classroom and good luck at your PT Appointment!

Waves to all who follow! I might even be back. *knocks on wood* I’m hoping I get a bit of a break today.

Thanks Christina - I am being very careful and trying to make the right food choices so I can lose weight and build great muscle and endurance for the race. Once my step classes are over for summer (end of April) it will be much better. But, for now, it's full speed ahead. }(

Have a great day!
Marcia.

Hi everyone!

Cathy - Whew! I am glad the testing is over for you! I really hope you have a good ski trip! That sounds like fun! Hope all the issues with your friend are okay now! I haven't been keeping up with my Fluidity :+ I get sooo mad at myself! But by the time I get in my "essential" cardio, weights, abs and trying to put floorwork back in....there is just not enough time :-( How are you liking yours?

Shelly - My hip/leg felt great after the walk. It seemed to have been perfect for yesterday :) Hope you are having a good day today and enjoying it!! Was the training bad yesterday?

Wendy - LOL...you sound like me trying to justify doing a new workout, while I am in the middle of another rotation! I agree with what you said about the lower body workout being an extra one, anyway! Perfect for an extra lower body day for P90X! By the way...I agree with you on the production of BBC. And they do look very simple....but man, oh man....for some reason...they made me so sore and I really felt well worked!

Marcia - When I was 37 y/o, I started messing up with my periods, etc. I "guess" it was perimenopause. When I was 44 or 45, my doctor told me I was "post menopausal", according to the bloodwork. I felt that was entirely too young :-( I agree with Shelly, I would definitely go see a doctor.

Gayle - Great job on the yoga workout and CoreMax! LOL...I can just picture you (or me, for that matter ;-) ) getting on or off the bike with our sore hamstrings! Mine are really sore, too! :)

Christine - Wow! That tandem/bike is great! That would be so much fun! My daughters/grandkids and I would have a ball with that!

Sunny - Hope you get to enjoy your rest day! Good luck with talking to the teacher and principle! Hope the other boy straightens up and doesn't end up a lifetime trouble maker! Does it upset your DS much?

Carole - That sounds like a great workout you have planned! Have fun with it! It does seem like this has been GS week for quite a few! They are my favorite of any strenth workout, I think. Gotta love em!

Jackie - That was a good idea to use the Bosu with FIU! That would have been tough to balance on some of those moves! Good job!

Susan - I love how walking makes me feel! It can really be intense, but seems to not bother my legs or hips at all....knock on wood! Glad your back is still doing well!

Well, this morning I did an hour iTread, GS C&T (minus all but 2 sets of pushups) and floorwork from Firm Vol. I (minus the abs ).

Hi to everyone and hope everyone is having a great day!

Linda

Hi Cheetahs. I'm still alive and training for my ten mile race. It is now 9 days away. We leave next Friday. My dad's broken ribs are much better but it is still a lot of work. It's almost been three weeks and I'm so happy with how he has progressed. Today I ran my last real hard tempo run which was 7 miles. This Sunday is my last long run at 11 miles before the big race. My IT band is holding up but it is starting to bruise on the outside. It doesn't hurt it just looks ugly. It's has been 10 weeks of training and now I'm down to the nitty gritty. I'm so excited. Thnaks for all the well wishes for my dad. I'll try to check in before I leave. Karen

Hi Girls.

Today was Chest, Shoulders and Triceps and it was TOUGH! I just didn't have the strength today. I didn't lower my weights but I cr@pped out on some of the exercises. I just couldn't do as many as I usually do. I was kind of upset but I had to listen to my body. I know it's just a temporary set back probably due to not eating enough or something. I didn't even do ARX. I didn't have it in me. I was going to make it up tonight but never did. OOPS! I put off yoga as well cause my legs are ***ON FIRE*** so holding those poses is simply unimaginable to me at this time! LOL I am hoping to make up both yoga and ARX for the week even if I have to use my rest day to help do it.

Well, that's all for now...I'll catch up on personals tomorrow. I'm headed off to bed now.

Nighty night!:)
