..:: CHEETAHS ::.. Thirstin' for the weekend (Thursday)

Good afternoon Cheetahs! Having computer issues today. Was on the phone half the morning with IS. They finally got me squared away.

Cathy - Hope you got a good night's sleep. Let's just say things are steady at work. Sometimes I have really busy days. Then there are those days that seem to drag on. Enjoy your rest day.

Wendi - Glad that nasty infection is gone and you felt well enough to get a run in. Tell the phone to stop interrupting your Cheetah time. :D My bootay is hurting as I sit here and type. That Rob put the move on me! OUCH!!:p Have fun bowling.

Wendy - Way to use DH! What costume did you choose for the party? Glad the leg and knee are both feeling better.

Judy - We have rain here too and the temp is dropping. I can take vacation whenever I want to. I have ooh gobs of time. :D This year I only took a day here or there. I'll take some time off at Christmas. I usually have some use or lose time and I'm definitely not going to lose it.

Christine - I just couldn't help myself and watched the debate. At least, Bob got them to talking about issues. But, I did see the last 10 minutes of Project Runway. It will be on again but I taped it. Of course, they will show bites from the debate for the next few days. Nice workout today.

Carole - Glad the eating is back on track for you. Good luck with your mom using the walker. How many times of day do they make her walk? Yay for good old DOMS. Enjoy B&B and your 5 miles.

Shelly - Glad you got the table put together. Have to agree with you about feeling better in my 50's than my 20's. Think I look better too. Glad you had a good 8 mile run. You have a lot of hills to test your legs? Enjooy shopping with DH.

Linda - Hope DD is ok. How scarey. Will be praying for her. Hope you can get some sleep today. Would be nice if Rob made some more weight workouts. Felt like I got a good workout.

LaDonna - Enjoy the rest time. What's next for you?

Dallas - A mammogram with chest DOMS? Oh, I don't envy you. Hope it's not too painful. Enjoy your workout today.

Karen - Good job on the 5 miles. Glad the calf is better. Be careful with those fig newtons. :D Another week for your mom. Know she's happy to have you there close by.

Posh - Did you run on the DM or outside? Thanks for the marathon info. I'll make sure I pencil it in on my calendar. Yes, I get bored with the workouts sometimes and have to add something for motivation. I get burned out on running. So training for a half has motivated me to get back in the groove.

I did a 5 mile pace run this morning. Used iTread #15 60 minutes and only did a 2% incline because my glutes and legs were too sore for much more. Did a 20 minute Yoga Zone. My glutes and legs are really sore. Actually, my whole body has some DOMS. Guess Rob was doing his job. The easier run worked well too.

Gotta get back to work. Going to do my patriotic duty and exercise my right to vote this afternoon when I get off.

Enjoy your day!

Howdy ladies!

I've got to admit that the energy level still ain't back up there yet but hopefully my shortish day today will help with that. Was doing the happy dance when boss said I didn't need to ride today...woohoo! Although, I did spend a couple of hours rebuilding a stall wall that one of the horses has been demolishing, little by little, over the past few weeks:mad::mad:. I'd rather do that than ride, though, so I guess it's all good.

Judy - Woo boy, the whole team:eek::eek:?!?! Gulp! Sooooo whatcha servin? That does sounds like it will be fun, though...enjoy! Hope you had a nice run on the TM today...I was lucky and was able to beat the rain and run OD.

Christine - I would actually like to read the book when I get some free time...LOL! Okay, so I went back and read up on the Tour de Stupid:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:! All I can say is you go for it girl!!!! Glad you had a nice run today...the enthusiasm is *very* contagious, isn't it?

Shelly - I'm sure your run was exquisite out there! I couldn't believe how beautiful the drive out to Harrisburg was...pretty country! Awww, I love when our pets try to talk to us:D...too cute. I will admit that I do talk back to Jonathan (the grey kitten) cuz he just never shuts up in the morning when we're doing stalls lol. I'm sure the new girl thinks I'm nuts but, whatever:rolleyes:. ITA about age being in your mind!

Carole - Wow, "Legs of Steel" Carole has DOMS from B&G? Well done;)! BTW, I forgot to mention that I love the new do. Oooh, killer workout today. Hope the DOMS isn't too much on the run.

Linda - I will keep your DD in my prayers tonight. Hopefully it was just the dehydration causing the problems...easy one to fix:). I hope you get some rest tonight. Um, the "original" *supposedly* came down with walking pneumonia but I seriously doubt that:rolleyes:. I spoke to her in the early afternoon and she was bright and chipper and then, no more than 4 hours later, she has pneumonia???? Right:rolleyes:. Sounded more like she over indulged in certain substances that she probably shouldn't have...pretty common in the industry I hate to say:(.

LaDonna - Sorry about the PF...had a pretty decent bout of it this winter and I know it's no fun. I hope it clears up quickly for you! Glad you decided to take some well-deserved rest. Have fun camping!

Dallas - Oh, dear, I hope that mammo isn't too uncomfortable for you...uggh:(! Glad you were able to get in for some hair TLC. Enjoy your run!

Karen - Had to laugh at the fact that we're both gonna make a double batch in the next couple of days:D. Now, see, your logic regarding the fig newtons wouldn't work for me cuz I would just tell myself that they're better than the junky ones and eat the entire thing:eek:. I'm one who needs to stay very, very far away from those buggers. Glad to hear that calf is improving...very good news! Gosh, the 23rd can't come soon enough, can it? {{{HUGS}}} for you and mom!

Posh - See post to Linda^^^^ regarding MIA rider:rolleyes:. Yeah, all you gals are probably right about the infection really hitting me hard. Only one more day of meds...YAY! So did you take that run OD or succumb to the DM?

Wendy - Sorry the knees are not quite 100% yet...good choice to continue to go easy on em. So what costume did you pick up? So, how was Dread, er, I mean DrillMax? Can you tell it's not one of my faves? Enh, my neighborhood is quite quiet and, for the most part, well-lit. Besides, the moon was so bright this morning that I probably could have read a book by it! Very pretty!

Jackie - Sorry about the 'puter problems...glad it's sorted out now. Congrats on the DOMS;). It sounds like Rob's got some *gooood* moves, eh? The phone was DSO, which is nice, but sometimes the morning phone call on his way into work is a bit inconvenient to take.

That's all for this chatterbox for now...thankfully, right:p? See yas in the morning! Have a good night.

Wendi- had dh bring me home some more beans from work. I knew the minute I told him to find the beans he was going to call me on the cell and tell me he couldn't find them. Of course 5 min later the phone rings and he says "What the h*ll am I looking for" He found them though but only bought me one can. God love him. I had to forgive him since he walked in the door with a pumpkin latte.

Posh- I think you deserve a break from all that hard work you have done over the months. I can't tell you how proud I am to know that you did a marathon let alone MANY of them. I can't wait to be in the club. :D I guess technically I'm half way there at this point.

Jamarba,
I'm sorry I haven't learned everyones real name yet! You asked what I am gonna do next well, lemme tell ya.... I gave up drinking for 13 weeks while I was training and right now I am having some wine! Ok I know that is not what you mean. I am going to see yet another doctor to see about this PF. It really has been a chronic problem for me. Anyway, I want to do the Nashville Marathon in April but we will see if I can get my foot healthy. I believe that next week I am going to really get myself back into lifting. Oh and I am going to go back to Weight Watchers!!! Training for the half had me eating a lot and now I need to tone it down since I won't be running so much. Have a good evening everyone!

Linda—thoughts & prayers comin’ DD’s way. How scary for her to pass out like that. Please keep us posted about the test results…it’s funny how some pains disappear. I usually have that issue with the nerve in my left foot at some point between miles 4-8, and then it just goes away.

Wendi—yay for your taxes being done! That must be a load off…glad you are feeling better and are almost off the meds…So, even though no ribbons, it sounded like a successful show. Fingers crossed Monkey “passes inspection.” J No need to be sorry at’all. I attended training voluntarily. J …Yeah, I had a feeling, too, but I figured it’d be safest to reserve final judgment until AFTER crossing the finish. Good luck at the lanes tonight.

Wendy—nope, I’ve not neglected my love affair with Target. Just found another day to rendezvous. J I have PLENTY of work to do to fill those hours. Will just feel a little weird not running all that time.

Judy—Not a rest week here. I walked quite a bit Sunday after the marathon as well as Monday, and I ran 2.4 on Tuesday. Took yesterday and today off and will do some easy workouts again Fri, Sat, and Sun. I am pretty good at stress management J —just feelin’ a little tired…I will be going to the MCM as well to cheer on my cousin’s GF…Sounds like your fam is on-the-go as always. How exciting you & DH will be in Chicago soon.

Christine—oh, it’s not necessarily a bad thing—just an observation. I actually know exactly where I want to focus and how I want to train. It’ll just be *different* to have more free time for other things again. Glad you had fun with DD15.

Shelly—your dining room table sounds cool. Would love to see a pic. Appreciate hearing what you & Carole have done with weights during the taper…Yes, Shellynator—it’s a compliment! J

Carole—I don’t care for cans, either…He was pretty funny. I can’t believe the NY Times article mentioned the guy in the full bodysuit. I was behind him for a little while, and I was wondering how he was going to survive the heat in that getup. Goes to show some people can handle the heat just fine…I am 5’4” like you and Dallas and didn’t notice the sidewalk slope til you mentioned it…I am sooo happy you’ll consider Chicago again. And by that, I take it you mean running it, right? How’s your mom doing?

LaDonna—you ran a really fast half—no wonder you’re drained! My secret is that I’m slow! *lol* I also did a run/walk program (run a mile/walk a min.), and I extended those breaks as needed on Sunday. I think it helps, too, that I run hills on a regular basis. My other secret is Advil or Aleve before a long run…I’ve heard these Trigger Point massage rollers are good for PT (and other injuries) and saw them at the Expo, but I haven’t tried them. They are a bit on the pricey side…I gave up the beverages as well during the last 8 weeks or so of training.

Dallas—ugh on the mammo. I have not had one yet, and I think I will put it off as long as possible!...I am overdue for a haircut, too. Been doing ponytails to work all week. I scheduled a cut for after my 90-minute (woo-hoo!) massage on Saturday. But your hair looked gorgeous to me.

Karen—glad your calf is on the mend…enjoy the figs…yeah, I have zero issues with taking two rest days from workouts…just feelin’ a bit o’ guilt about the mounting schoolwork. I will just have to pin my ears back and plow through it this weekend.

Posh—hmmm, so Napa has a 5K, huh? J I will check into some flights this weekend…I didn’t realize Beryl was talking of hangin’ up the running shoes for good. Glad that's not the case…LMBO about Happy Sunday. So, how great was that massage? I am going to tell my MT not to even bother with my arms. I don't like them being worked, actually.

Jackie—So you can thank Glick for your pain, huh?...Is there still talk of scaling back Saturday delivery?...I have been passing out the instant my head hits a pillow. On Sunday night, I nodded off with the phone still in my hand mid-text. *lol*

Have a great night! :)

Hi Cheetahs!

Cathy: Wow, late night for you! Hope you can get some zzzz's tonight. The weekend is looking really good to me too! I will fill you in on the conference for sure!

Wendi: The marathon is May 23rd. I am looking forward to things slowing down. You are a passionate soul with those horses. :)

Wendy: How was DM? My marathon is May 23rd. Yes, it does look like we will be training partners!

Judy: The leaves are in full color right now. It will be a nice trip. Hope you had a great run! I made lasagna last weekend and it turned out really well. The wine sounds like a good idea for Saturday!

Christine: I was sooo happy dinner is next week. DH was too since he had a crappy day. I have been to the Sault once. It is a high of 48 up there tomorrow! YIKES! Better dress warm. Great you had a nice time watching the movie with DD. IA books are much better than the movie. One of my favorite books is The Cider House Rules. The movie just did not do it justice. Sorry the chicken didn't turn out as well as you would like. That happens to me a lot with recipes.

Shelly: Your new table sounds really neat! In all honesty I am liking my older age too. My partner is a new runner. I am confident in my mental ability to complete the race. Kick a@3 workouts as usual! I am going to send you a pm about a question I have about my training.

Linda: Your DD is in my thoughts! Please let us know how she is doing! It is stressful I am sure.

LaDonna: I have a little bit of PF issues. I just ice, rest and do the YOGA. Downward Dog is the bomb diggity for helping with that, at least for me! Take care!

Dallas: Hope you can get through the mammogram okay. I am 32 and will be 33 in early January. Should I be getting them?

Karen: Thanks for the information about the standardized testing! Glad you are feeling better!

Thomasina: The winter is a beast around these parts for sure. I am not looking forward to it...but I don't want to live in Florida either. Choices. Glad you are feeling great and ready for the next marathon! You just rock Cheetah! That's all I have to say about that.

Carole: I do like your hair in the pics! Great workout!

Jackie: You kick some butt getting in that yoga all the time! I preach the yoga, but it is hard to fit in. If only I was independetly wealthy and didn't have to work...

I am not going to school tomorrow. I have a conference. There is not a workout possible which does not make me happy. Oh well, life goes on.
Have a GREAT night Cheetahs!

Hi Girls.

I'm enjoying my cup o' decaf before heading to bed.

So I did Drill Max as planned today and I enjoyed it! It was like a walk in the park compared to the race on Sunday! :p

Tomorrow I have off to wash clothes and pack for our weekend trip to PA. I plan to run my 3 mile loop by my house in the morning after dropping DS at school. How many times I run it remains to be seen though. ;)

Gloria: Way cool about the marathon. Will you be following any particular training plan? I will follow Higdon's novice plan.

Cathy: So all this time you've been going to Target and I didn't know it? You are good! :p So I guess running a fall marathon was perfect for you. You were able to do the bulk of your training over the summer when your load was lighter. Was that a consideration when you chose Chicago cause I know you thought about Disney in January first. My sister is a big Disney fanatic. She sends me info on the races there all the time. We are supposed to go in a couple of years. Maybe I'll luck out and get to do the half while I'm there or something. That would be cool. :)

Wendi: Not a DM fan huh? I enjoyed it today. I am becoming a bigger and bigger fan of the less choreographed work outs. Step used to be my fave cardio. Now it's what I reach for the least. My Halloween costume is a biker chic or well, that's what I call it. The manufacturer has it labeled as "Wild Child". It's a black cap, black vest and skin colored shirt that is supposed to look like tattoos from wrist to neck to waist. Add a pair of tight jeans and a pair of black high heeled boots and voila. BIKER BABE! :) It fits. I love motorcyles and I have 3 tattoos and want more some day! Glad you didn't have to ride today. Sorry the horse destroyed his stall though.

Jackie: See my post to Wendi above for the description of my halloween costume. :) Glad your computer issues finally got fixed. What a pain in the tuckus that can be! Nice work out today. I will often times lower or eliminate hills altogether in favor of speed. Somtimes it's just not what I wanna do. I hate when I have a good pace/mileage going and Grace makes ya slow down for a hill. I used to listen to her. Now I think nothing of blowing her off and continuing on the flats to keep that speed up! :p

Posh: So how was the dreadmill slog today? :D

Karen: Glad the calf is mending. Very cute Halloween costume idea your family had. Hope you can convince DH to post the pics. See my post to Wendi for my costume description. :) So I am strongly considering the Frederick Marathon in MD at the beginning of May and now my DH suggested I look closer into one I had jotted down but not really considered in Long Island NY since it's closer to us. I'll have to check it out soon. It's the same weekend as the MD one.

Judy: Check it out: http://www.buffalomarathon.com/marathoninfo.cfm :)

Christine: Thanks for the Mike explanation. Does he know you named your bike after him? :)

Carole: If you only have 'some' Doms from B&G then I'd say you are doing quite well. Today's run should have helped to work out any remaining kinks for ya.

Shelly: Do whatever works for you girl re the marathon(s). If you want to slog away with me through any amount of my first mary you are more then welcome! I will soooo appreciate the support. If you'd prefer to do a little cheerleading instead of running that's great too. And ofcourse, if ya can't make it all I'll always understand. :) Sal (DH) said I should consider the mary in Long Island NY as well. It's the same weekend as the Frederick one but it's much closer. I'll have to check it out. Any thoughts?

Linda: Sorry about your DD. I hope that her and the baby remain safe. Keep us posted! No, I don't have Chalene's on the ball work outs. I guess I need to get them, huh? ;)

LaDonna: If a full rest week is what works for you then by all means do it and don't feel badly about it. I can't rest for that long or I'll go batty. I rested the day before and the day after my race. I knew I wasn't gonna last much longer. I can always find SOMETHING I can do! LOL

Dallas: I've never had a mammogram before but I've heard about them. I can't believe you had to have one done with chest DOMS! YEOWCH!

K, that should catch me up for now...BB in the morning!

Nighty night Cheetahs!:)
