:::CHEETAHS::: THANKFUL IT'S THURSDAY!!!

Sunny: I didn't realize you had stopped your NROL rotation until I read what you wrote to Judy today and then reread your post from y'day. I must confess that I am probably not going to start NROL after my HM in May as planned. I want to do it but it's going on the back-burner for right now. I don't have the attention span to stick to a 6 month long rotation though I may do a few of the work outs at some point soon. I just to get a taste of it before I do finally decide to dive in head first. :)

I'll be back with more personals in a bit ladies!

Hi Ladies. I'm back for personals. :)

Wendi: Awwww, you are such a sweetie! When it comes to "critters" most women would scream and call the first man they know that they can get in touch with to come over and kill it! LOL I have a soft spot for critters as well though. We get a mouse in our house occasionally and it kills me that DH uses a snap trap on them. :-(

Christine: Oh I am sure your review was amazing! Will you get a pay raise? :+ Can I ask what it is that your company sells? I'm just curious. I hope that's not too personal of a question. Your Dh doesn't like the Cap One commercials!?!? Hmmm...I'll have to watch out for one now. I have no idea what they are like! That's too funny though. :7 Good luck with your race this weekend, Cheetah!

Carole: We never would have considered a mac except that when you buy a new pc/laptop now they don't come loaded with programs anymore. You get 30 or 60 days of an anti-virus and windows and that's it! You have to buy everything else off the shelf or online and purchase the full version of windows or you will have a non-working computer once the "trial" has expired. The anti-virus deal is not unusual but not even getting windows is new and I don't like it at all! It will definately up the price of a regular laptop which is why we are considering a mac. Macs come loaded with lots of stuff so the price may be justified. We'll have to see. We plan to use the laptop as our main computer eventually. Our current desktop pc is 8 years old and it won't last forever so this new laptop will be a long term investment.

Jackie: Great work out. Hope to hear more from your tmrw!

Shelly: Energizer bunny! You last far longer then most my dear so don't feel ashamed when you finally DO get tired!:)

Wendi: Who in the world said that about your arms!? You shoulda punched 'em right in da' face! That'll teach 'em to make fun of your biceps!}( Don't listen to them, hon. I'm sure you look fantastic! If you like the way you look then that's all that matters!

Dallas: Sorry about your crappy work out this morning. Were you able to get something else in? Did all go okay with the doc appointment?

Posh: How goes it? Done any good shopping lately? }(

K, looks like I'm all caught up. Time to get dinner goin'!

BBL!:7

Hello everyone!

I'm back from school. Time to catch up with personals.

Cathy: Yeah, a lot of my kids are poor. The county I live in has the highest number of children living in poverty than any other in Michigan. It's sad. Have you ever read a Framework for Understanding Poverty by Ruby Payne? Very interesting book. How was your workout?

Wendi: My husband has teased me about having man arms. It looks better than FLAB arms though!

Kath: I'm a 5th grade teacher and I live in northern lower Michigan. My sister had a Mr. Spaghetti O puppet that she couldn't be with out. I'm not sure if she still has it or not. She is 21 now.

Wendy: Hummus was getting so expensive at the store and the only grocery store in town quit carrying my favorite kind so I started to make it. It is a chore, but I can't live without it! :) I am a creature of habit and have a whole wheat bagel with hummus EVERY morning. You did a great workout today!

Christine: I'm thinking my cheetah name might be "Upnorth Cheetah." What do you think? How do I get the signature line? How was your review today? I hope it went well. I should have figured Kimo was the root for Eskimo. Duh! I'm usually a little fried at this time of day. :)

Carole: Our grocery store just started carrying Sabra and I think it is VERY good! I buy it when I am too lazy to make my own. The kind I make I really enjoy. I have a black bean hummus recipe too that I LOVE! I used the elliptical when I was recovering from my stress fracture. It gives a good workout!

Shelly: I think that if I do not get in to the NYC marathon I will do the twin cities. Oh, I was just thinking as I type this that Washington D.C. would be cool. I bet they have a marathon. I'll have to look that one up. I haven't been there, but my DH has and he says it's a powerful experience to visit the Vietnam memorial. His dad is a Vietnam vet and he never says a word about it. He's such a kind man.

Dallas: I started the thread this morning and posted my hummus recipe if you're interested. I have had my share of horrible workouts. Don't fret, you will be kicking butt soon I am sure.

Posh: I can tell by your posts what a vibrant personality you have. When I was reading your post I LOL!

Sunny: Congratulations on the new treadmill! My DH needed a little convincing as well. But, he knows me better than anyone and knows that exercise helps me keep my sanity.

Well cheetahs, tomorrow may be Friday, but I am very busy. Our 5th grade team is hosting breakfast for the staff (a grade level does this every pay day Friday), so I will be up making cheesy hashbrowns tomorrow. Bad for you, I know, but it's PAYDAY FRIDAY! :p My class and three others will be going on a field trip to a water park all day. Then after school I head to DH's fly shop to attend a grand opening party. There will be free food and beer. I don't anticipate being back here tomorrow night. Anyway, I hope you all have a great evening!

One more thing. We are having a major wild fire here. It is not close to my home, but right by our town. 800 acres have burned so far. I work in town and the smoke was REALLY bad. I even saw flames. We will be getting rain tonight, so that should help. I am worried because I have some students who live in the area of the fire. As of right now there has been no structural damage. Interstate I-75 has been shut down north and south bound. Our community is really in a frenzy. We have predominately Jack Pines and they burn FAST!

Cathy – I wonder if the Novice Supreme is the same as the Novice. I will have to check that out! LOL…..Yummy! Novice Supreme Tacos….or nachos ;<)

Wendi – Hope you enjoy HSC!

Gloria – Great job on your 5 miles and good time, too!
That is awful about the wild fires! I hope they are all under control and out soon!

Kath – That is sweet about your DD and her baby blanket!! Enjoy your run!

Wendy – I guess I am pretty insane! It felt wonderful at the time…..but this morning I had to take a day off of running and lower body! ;>) Congrats on the big screen and wish you luck on the ‘puter!

Christine – good luck on your review at work!!! I absolutely agree with you on the covers of the new CIA’s! I haven’t done Carlos’s or the Tapless one yet. Let me know what you think of Carlos’s! I tripped over my step when I did HIS the first time. I was so glad I didn’t fall flat! The run and B&G wasn’t bad at the time. It was just this morning when I tried to get up that I felt it.

Carole – I agree! I think curls and extensions are so good for the legs! Glad your BIL is out of the hospital! Enjoy your legs and EXT!

Jackie – Great job on your workout! Hope you get out from under the pile on your desk!!

Shelly – Good job on your run and upper body! I can just imagine the energy it would take to control Spanky! LOL….I would love to run with you! But I am absolutely sure I couldn’t keep up with you!!!

Dallas – I am sorry about the depressing e-mail! I hope things are okay! It very well may have been that the laces on your shoes were too tight. Hope it gets better soon!

Posh – Hope you have a good day at work!

Sunny – You are making me want to go shopping! WENDY!!!!! YOU KNOW WHAT SUNNY DID???? SHE WENT SHOPPING! Ooops! :>) Just kidding! Enjoy Imax2!

Like I mentioned earlier, I didn’t run or workout this morning, but tonight I did the shoulders from GS and abs from Firm Vol I. I will run and do the rest of GS BS&B in the morning!

Have a good night everyone!

Linda

Wendi ~ you could try changing up the lacing to ease the snugness…but ultimately, IA that a running specialty store is your best bet. Fleet Feet is tops, in my book. With regard to 4DS premixes—me too! I’m glad the self-tanner has worked out for you. They seem to be so improved from how they were back in the day.

Kath ~ we finish the third week in June…hope DD has a speedy recovery. Yay for ice cream!

Wendy ~ glad you beat the late fee…enjoy the sweet new TV!!!...those Apple Airbooks look *awesome*. My first computer was a Mac I bought in college. Was a huge Apple fan and am sorry they didn’t take off the way PCs did. But once I was in the working world of PCs, I reluctantly made the switch. Compatibility ultimately became the deciding factor, but I think they are GREAT machines!…I always enjoy going back to the 4DS…I do love the bells, but well, as we know, changing it up from time to time is good. I will say that I don’t feel my tri’s get enough attention with the kb training, but I *was* able to up my weights (I did bi’s & ba), so I did make strength gains during the kb rotation…*lol’d* at your post to Wendi.

Christine ~ there is something about the title “Carlos’ Latin Xplosion” that amuses me. }( Now that is one review I look forward to hearing. :) And do tell us about your stellar review!!! LMBO at Jimmy’s hotel setup. Now that guy’s got the life! :7

Carole ~ yeah, I thought your DS cracked a joke or mistakenly didn’t take him seriously at first—I didn’t realize she was actually telling him to find a way to the clinic on his own!...Glad BIL has been released.

Jackie ~ well, I actually did kind of sucky with the eating today. I went on a fun-size candy attack and ate the equivalent of two Kit Kat bars. Definitely understand about no time for personals...would be great if you can just check in while things are hectic.

Shelly ~ OK, good. Me too. :) MWAH! :* I would have to make adjustments to the Novice Supreme plan, too, b/c it’s 30 weeks. His other novice plan is 18 weeks. I think I will use all 3 as a guideline. Your post to Dallas made me laugh out loud…too funny!

Dallas ~ I didn’t realize that was an option—wonderful! That gives you some more time to figure it out, and either way, you’re supporting a great cause. Sorry about the disturbing email. (((HUGS))) I would think if your laces were too tight, you’d likely feel it along your instep.

Posh ~ well, now that is a relief! Usually you are such a kidder, but I couldn’t tell if there were genuine bruised toes on that one or not, and I felt bad. I’m glad you weren’t offended! All of the plans I’m dabbling in have 4 days, including the long run, and IA that is what I’d like to shoot for. Maybe if I hit my goal weight, I could up the mileage again, but I guess I like to be kinder to the ol’ joints nowadays. Lorie is off having fun! Miss her, too.

Sunny ~ I think Wendy discarded the anti-Target campaign. :) Oh yeah, you know I am all about the skiing on that balance board! But tell you the truth, I don’t play my Wii that often. It’s been about a month…However, I am hoping that Wii Ski will give me my skiing fix during the off-season!...Oh yeah, next time don’t let the funkiness keep you away…you are definitely missed when you don’t post…and hey, we are all entitled to some crabbiness now and then! :)

Gloria ~ no, I haven’t read that one…but when I taught in the low-income district, I was engrossed with all the literature on poverty, the achievement gap, etc. Now I have a completely different nut to crack—the overachiever students, helicopter parents, zero diversity, censorship, demand for A’s. But yes, in my old district, much of my time was spent putting out the fires caused by the kids’ crummy home lives and trying to sell them on reading and writing. It was a hard decision for me to leave because I felt like I was selling out. In fact, I wasn’t actually looking to leave, but a colleague and friend who became an administrator in my current district sort of lured me over. Anyway, I am now glad I made the change. My old building became a toxic place, and in general, I think I would have ultimately burned out from that environment. It takes a lot out of you to try to be so much to the kids. Tomorrow sounds like a YUMMY day! Keep us posted about the fires. I hope your students stay safe.

Linda ~ it’s a little bit different than the Novice I and II…how’s your DD doing?

WHEW! I believe that catches me up.

Oh, almost forgot about my workout: I opted for the EXT tonight instead of my run. Kept myself entertained (or perhaps slightly repulsed) with Charles Bronson in what must have been Death Wish 21. Man, those movies are creepy! With the creepy synthesizer music, to boot!

Have a great night!
